A comfortable stop along the highway to grab a bite to eat and enjoy the ambiance.... Hmmm At least you have an idea of what to expect.

Stopped in to see my favorite server Bobbi again. Always a positive experience both with the service and the food. Chicken fried steak with salad and veggies. YUMMM... Made my day!!! Del Mar, just off Highway 5...

This is a live review since i'm sitting in Denny's right now eating my All- American Slams and fried mozzarella sticks with my bestie, Danielle on whom is studying for the bar right now. Yes, that's right, we out here eating and studying at Denny's. Don't sleep on that. Denny's has been a staple for me since my college days back in 2013, food is decent (depending on certain location, the one across from Santa Ana College was the one I used to go to back in the day) But this location, the chef who is working right now( time is 2 am on June 4, 2025) and our amazing server Gail, thank you for serving us. Gail was wondering and for the first time in my life, she told me I look familar from this show called Gilmore Girls on which I never watched but my bestie look it up and I can see the similarities. Alright, now lets get do to the food, I ordered the All- American Slams, cripsy hashbrown, scamabled eggs, 4 pieces of cripsy bacon and a stack of pancakes, with an add on of toasted English Muffin. 9.6/10 I agreed with my bestie, that indeed, their pancakes are WAY better than IHOP. The pancakes here are fluffy and mosit, not dense like Ihop, again if you like dense pancakes this isn't it. Cheers to the chest for making that cripsy hashbrown perfect and the plating... I never seen a more aesthetic Denny's plate than this location, looks so well put and the fried mozzarella sticks were hot and not too. salty 9.4/10 Originally we wanted to order the maple stuff donuts but they were out. That's totally fine, because it's giving us an excuse to come back and get it. We came in around 1am, my bestie needed to study other than at home so I didn't mind. This is just brining me back memories from my college days so this was a nice visit and by far one of the besst location of Denny's. No homeless here like in Santa Ana and everyone that dine in was respectful. Thank you Gail for serving us and she was the only server here at time we were in so we understand, plus we weren't in a rush to get our food since we were studying well my friend was stuyding, I'm just typing out this review.

I've always enjoyed Dennys. It's open at all hours , and the selection of food is vast. I'm giving this review to provide info for Dennys app users and customers driven by specials. Yesterday 9/18 was national cheese burger day. I found a list of restaurants giving special discounts. Dennys was listed as one of them. However when we arrived we were informed this location was not participating. The host advised us to check online for coupons or promo codes I found the Dennys app and downloaded it and got an immediate 20% off coupon. The fine print indicated it does not apply to Every Day Value Slam and items under $8. We ordered to burgers off the $2/$4/6/8 value menu. I had 3 add ons. Avocado , cheese and the seasoned fries. We went to check out and were told we only qualified for .77 cents off. I tried to give the cashier the info and fine print but he refused it stating there was fine print that stated this. So I concluded the Every Day Value Slam equates to the $2/$4/$6/$8 value menu. I should have ordered a burger off the regular menu and got more bang for my buck. Fortunately the total dinner was reasonable despite not having the coupon. I just found the location lacking in customer service regarding the specials. (I had to specifically request the Value menu ) as it was not provided and I would not have known about had I not downloaded the app. Regarding food. It was served hot and fresh. Burger was pretty good Seasoned fries not worth $1.99 upgrade. Recommend this Dennys if you just want a place to sit down for a burger , breakfast Simple food. The booths need to be replaced. Ours was torn up where you were sitting on the foam.

My group of 3 people stopped at Denny's for a late night meal after the New years party. There was a wait which we did not mind, waited our turn and got sat by a serve named Cynthia. We placed our orders, asked for milkshakes and she said No, we're busy at the moment and the milkshakes are made by hand, but once it dies down we can see if we'll be able to make you one. So we said okay and waited. After a while, there was no line at the door anymore, the rush has calmed down. So when someone else brought out the dessert, we asked again if we were able to get 3 milkshakes and she said yes, made our milkshakes and brought them out. The server, Cynthia saw that, and she very UNPROFESSIONALLY reprimanded the other lady in front of all the customers, saying "I already told them no, why did you bring out the milkshakes, I told 4 other tables no so now we'll have to go make more milkshakes, do you know how much time it'll take to make them all a milkshake? If someone orders something, run by me first". That was a conversation that should have been had in private, but she obviously wanted us to hear because she said it right next to our table. 5 mins later, another girl at a table next to us asked for a milkshake, and she said "No, we're not making those tonight" then pointed to our table and said "they just told the other lady that I said it was okay to make them milkshakes", which did not happened, she RUDELY lied about what we said to other customers next to our table. The experience at Denny's was great until she started having a public meltdown down and talked rudely about us indirectly to other customers but loud enough to have us hear. She honestly ruined the entire experience we had at Denny's with her nasty words and attitude. She should not be in the service industry. I hope other costumers do not have to experience this. However, the manager on shift was very nice and comped our meal for the trouble after we brought it up to his attention and was very professional. He said she should not have been telling customers that they're not making milkshakes and to let them know it will take a while instead. Which validated how we felt.

There's free parking in the back and street parking in the front. This place is known for their breakfast but their other items are just as good. We recently found out the Chicken Fettuccine Al Pesto is the owners Italian mother's recipe. My youngest son enjoys getting this dish. My favorite breakfast dishes are the chicken and waffle, country fried steak and french toasts. They perfectly bread the chicken and the homemade country gravy it adds that extra goodness to the meal. I also love their fresh-pressed juices, and I usually request a plantation iced tea -- iced tea mixed with pineapple juice. So refreshing! The decor is adorable too. It has a cozy farmhouse café vibe that makes the whole place feel warm and inviting. And the bread pudding from Sunny Side is definitely worth mentioning. I usually don't like bread pudding, but this is far from ordinary. It's made with croissants and chocolate, drizzled with chocolate sauce, dusted with powdered sugar, served with raspberries, and strawberries. You have to add the ice cream...cause why not? Absolutely indulgent and perfect for sharing. Totally worth those extra calories! Overall, we'll definitely keep dining here. Great service, delicious food, and so many good family memories every time we visit!

The patio seating is best for groups of 4. More seating inside. Our server was friendly and helpful. We ordered coffee which arrived piping hot and delicious! Two of us ordered BLT sandwiches with avocado and side salad with balsamic vinaigrette, and my husband ordered the Mexicali egg scramble with a side of beans, my father-in-law ordered a potato scramble substituting grits for the potatos. The food was ready in 15 minutes. The BLTs were scrumptious , bacon super crispy. The grits* scramble was also delicious. My husband was disappointed with the Mexicali, particularly that it was already lukewarm when it arrived. He wished he'd gotten the scramble which apparently was still hot upon arrival. Service 5/5 Ambience (patio) 5/5 Food 4/5 (hot food should come out hot). We'll be back!

Attention Paymard family. Please read my review of my family's experience today…read more My kids wanted to treat me to Father's Day breakfast before heading to the fair. My daughter was the one who chose T's Cafe for our celebration, excited to share a place she loved with the family. Unfortunately, what should have been a special family meal turned into one of the worst restaurant experiences I have had in years. We arrived at 11:37 AM and were quoted a 20 to 30 minute wait. We were not seated until 12:29 PM, nearly an hour later. I understand holidays are busy, but quoting a wait time that is off by almost double sets the tone for a disappointing experience. Unfortunately, the service only deteriorated from there. After being seated, it took 10 minutes to receive water, 20 minutes before our server Leslie took our drink order, approximately 30 minutes before our food order was taken, and 45 minutes after being seated before drinks arrived. Even then, the drinks were delivered separately, about five minutes apart. Our meals arrived roughly an hour after being seated, and once again, the three dishes were delivered separately several minutes apart. Long waits on Father's Day are frustrating, but understandable. What was not understandable was the complete lack of accountability when our order was delivered incorrectly. My daughter specifically requested wheat bread on her sandwich for health reasons and was served sourdough. My son ordered a fried chicken sandwich and instead received a chicken fried steak. When Leslie finally returned, approximately 15 minutes after our meals had been delivered, I politely pointed out the mistakes. Her response was shocking. She dramatically flipped through her handwritten notes and insisted that my daughter had ordered sourdough and that we were mistaken. She acknowledged that my son's order was incorrect but made no effort whatsoever to correct it. Instead, while I was in the middle of asking a question, she simply turned around and walked away. At this point, we had already requested water from two other employees because Leslie had disappeared for extended periods. Throughout most of the meal, our water glasses remained empty. No refills were offered, and no additional beverage service was provided. When we finished eating, Leslie still had not returned. We ultimately had to ask a busser for our check. When she finally brought it, I asked for her name. She ignored me and walked away. I asked again. No response. I asked a third time, louder because it was clear I was being ignored. After paying, I asked two employees if a manager was available. They informed me that Pam had apparently left about 20 minutes earlier without informing anyone and was nowhere to be found. I then asked those employees for the server's name and was told it was Leslie. At that moment, Leslie emerged from the bar area and began raising her voice at me, repeatedly calling me "cruel." Every attempt I made to speak was interrupted by her continuing to raise her voice and repeat the accusation. This occurred in front of other guests at approximately 2:05 PM. Owners, specifically the Paymard family, I strongly encourage you to review your security footage from approximately 2:05 PM on Father's Day. This interaction should be used as a training opportunity because no guest should ever be treated this way. What makes this especially disappointing is that we have dined here at least a dozen times over the years. We intentionally support T's Cafe because it is a family-owned, women-owned business, and we have always appreciated supporting a local establishment with those values. In fact, I still think the biscuits and gravy are excellent, and I enjoyed my patty melt. However, one employee completely ruined what should have been a special Father's Day meal with my kids. My daughter, who had proudly chosen this restaurant to make the day special, left feeling embarrassed and responsible for how the morning had unfolded. That is not a feeling any child should carry home on a holiday. Poor service can be forgiven. Long waits on a holiday can be forgiven. Mistakes happen. Being blamed for the restaurant's mistakes, ignored repeatedly, denied basic service, and then publicly berated by a server is unacceptable. After years of being customers, we will not be returning. I will also be sharing this experience with others because no guest should be treated with this level of disrespect. A restaurant's food may bring people in, but customer service determines whether they come back, and in this case, it guaranteed that we won't.

My family was vacationing in Encinitas and stumbled upon Claire's on Cedros on our first morning while searching for an early breakfast spot. Pancakes are usually not something I get excited about - I tend to think most restaurants use the same premade mixes from the same suppliers, resulting in pancakes that are ultimately forgettable. That changed the moment I tried a bite of the pancakes my daughter ordered. I was genuinely surprised to discover what may be some of the best pancakes I've ever had. Since then, Claire's has become a breakfast tradition whenever we're in the area. Buttermilk Pancakes (OG) - 5/5. These pancakes completely changed my expectations of what a pancake can be. What makes Claire's buttermilk pancakes stand out is their depth of flavor. They have a rich, buttery character and a subtle fermented tang that give them a distinctive personality. Add a little extra butter and real maple syrup, and the flavor reaches another level. The texture is equally impressive. Unlike many restaurant pancakes that are either soggy or overly dense, these strike a near-perfect balance. They hold their shape well while remaining tender and fluffy, with just the right amount of air pockets. They're substantial without being heavy and soft without falling apart. The finishing touch is a thin ring of golden-brown crispy edges that adds both texture and extra flavor to every bite. Seasonal Lemon Ricotta Pancakes - 4.5/5. Our server recommended the seasonal lemon ricotta pancakes, and I'm glad I gave them a try. They are every bit as well-executed as the original buttermilk pancakes, with a bright citrus flavor and a richer, creamier profile from the ricotta. While I still prefer the original buttermilk version for its subtle fermented tang, these are excellent in their own right and well worth ordering if they're available. Eggs Benedict with Crispy Parmesan Risotto & Honey-Cured Bacon - 4.5/5. Once I find a favorite dish, I have a habit of ordering it repeatedly - which was becoming a problem thanks to those buttermilk pancakes. On a return visit, I made a point of trying something different and was glad I did. The standout pairing here is the crispy hash browns. This is one of those dishes where the individual components really shine when eaten together. Combining the arugula, poached egg, hollandaise sauce, and crispy hash browns creates a wonderfully balanced bite. The hash browns contribute crunch, the egg and hollandaise provide rich creaminess, and the arugula adds freshness and brightness that keeps everything from feeling too heavy. It's a thoughtfully composed dish that delivers both flavor and texture. Drinks - okay. The juices, teas, and coffee were perfectly fine - nothing remarkable, but nothing to complain about either. They do their job and complement the food well. Here are my final Thoughts. I'm so glad we discovered Claire's on Cedros. It has given me a new benchmark for what great pancakes should taste like. Even as someone who never considered pancakes a favorite breakfast item, I find myself thinking about them long after the meal is over. If we're back in Encinitas or Solana Beach, Claire's will be one of our first stops. The pancakes alone are worth the visit.

The staff also is pretty nice. It's a decent place to eat and drink if you are staying at the hotel.

As we entered for dinner around 6 pm, the hostess told us to sit anywhere we liked. Our waitress, Eva, and the server were very nice and attentive to our needs. Here's what we ordered: 1. **Crispy Calamari** - Really hot and crispy, perfect with the lemon aioli. 4.5/5 2. **Wagyu Cheeseburger Sliders** - Served with French fries, the flame-broiled burgers with garlic aioli were moist and paired well with the soft, tasty brioche buns. 4.4/5 3. **Herb Chicken Sandwich** - Marinated in rosemary and garlic, with provolone, spinach, and heirloom tomato. Served with fries, this was a great, tasty sandwich. 4.4/5 4. **Filet Mignon** - Tender filet served with vegetables, potatoes, carrots, and mashed potatoes. Cooked perfectly. 4.5/5 5. **Charbroiled Angus Rib Eye Steak** - Tender and very tasty Angus rib eye, with distinct grill flavors. Served with mashed potatoes, carrots, cauliflower, and asparagus. The star of the show. 4.6/5 6. **House-Made Bread Pudding** - Served with a scoop of vanilla ice cream, it was moist and sweet. 4.4/5 The night was quiet initially but got busier as time passed. There was plenty of seating outside where you can enjoy the cool breeze and be close to the swimming pool. They even turned on the outdoor fire pits next to comfy couches and tables, making it a nice place to hang out after dinner. The restaurant was very clean, and our server Eva gave me a complimentary Birthday dessert, which was the perfect way to end the night. For breakfast they serve buffet $25/Person it's good but not really for me. Ordered Russian River Omelet for my wife and got to taste it for it was outstanding (4.6/5) Overall, we had a fantastic experience at Coastal Kitchen. The food was delicious, the service was excellent, and the ambiance was lovely. Definitely recommend for anyone staying at the Hilton San Diego Del Mar or looking for a great dining experience in the area.
