My roommate and I always go here and it usually is pretty good. Today we went and it was absolutely wonderful! The managers were absolutely amazing and nice! Our server was very helpful with making sure our orders were right since I am vegetarian and my roommate is vegan! I will for sure be back. read more

They make lousy food and rarely have good service. I've been in the food industry providing service for nearly 15 years. Trust me when I say this place is not good. Top it all off with the fact they don't honor coupons they put out, and rely on the server's to bear the brunt of telling angry customers about it. Went there for the last chance today and had a poor girl tell me she was going to have to quit because people won't tip her due to that policy. Terrible management leads to no customers! We went to Dennys which is normally always very good. First off the service was terrible. It took an hour for our food to get there. Then, the food. It wasn't very good by any means. The pumpkin pancakes were ice cold and the hash browns were undercooked. The eggs didn't look like eggs and they screwed up the orders. Worst experience at Denny's I've ever had. read more

So sad. The food was not that exceptional, at all, for Denny's. They were out of food that we ordered and took it upon themselves to replace it with extra and never asked us if that was okay. Then we had a Denny's coupon-- not expired-- and with their address on it, but when it came time to use it, they wouldn't honor it! Never again! read more

Well I've always had a bad experience here. My biggest complaint is the service! Walk in no hostess or anyone to seat you, when it's time to pay for your meal it takes about 10 min for them to even realize your waiting! And just now me and a friend went in there got seated and waited 15 min didn't see not one waitress. We just walked out you lost money and business. Going here is such a waste. My 5 year old son decided he wanted to eat here for his birthday dinner (I blame his love of all things breakfast). First off, it took 10 minutes to even get a table and the kicker is that there we're maybe 5 tables sat, max. My kids got kids menus with no crayons. It took nearly 10 minutes to receive our drinks. We ordered an appetizer that we didn't even get until after we had gotten our food. My daughter didn't get the bacon and sausage she ordered. We never were even offered refills or enough silverware. And finally when I asked for the check, it took the waitress 5 minutes to dig thru the mess of crumpled papers to find our check, all while she complained about the only other waitress working. All in all, this place is a disaster and how it's been in business this long is beyond me. read more

Went for a late breakfast about 10ish. We were seated immediately, but as we looked over the menu, no one approached us about service, or a "I'll be right with you" or nothing. After a 5 to 7 min wait, we left. All kinds of people working and serving around us, but nobody approached us for coffee, water, or order. Oh well. read more

Our server was super sweet and friendly when we went on Christmas Day, and I applaud them for being open on that day when most places in Greenville were closed. I'll admit - the wait was long: one hour to sit and another for food, but you're gonna get that on a day like Christmas. read more

Worse Denny's ever visited. I tried twice just to be sure. Service is actually good but the cook is aweful. I always get the all American slam and both times there was little chess in the eggs and the eggs were cooked poorly. The hash browns were under cooked and the toast not toasted. Both times so not just a bad moment. The second time I bought my wife and she had steak omlet, pancake pups, and pancakes. The steak was over cooked and the pups we're burnt. The hash browns were under cooked and I'm not sure about the pancakes but they tasted odd. Avoid here at all costs and know that this restaurant does not reflect all Denny's. I actually love Denny's as does my wife. But not this one. read more

I would give less than 1 star if I could. We walked in on a Tuesday night to wait at the hostess stand for several minutes before even being acknowledged. There were several tables fully dirty and not bussed. There were only 3 tables sat in the whole restaurant, but the "manager" came up and said there would be a 20-30 minute wait because the cooks were completely backed up. With only 3-4 tables in the whole restaurant. We were basically begged to leave under the pretense of apology. I don't even know how this Denny's is still in business!! read more

From the moment I walked in till the moment I left I was disappointed. It began with a long wait to even be greeted and be seated which led to a long line of people waiting to be seated even while plenty of tables were available in plain view. It even appeared that some customers were given special service as those waiting towards the end of line waiting for a seat were plucked out from the line, seated and immediately served. Once seated it took longer than expected to get the order taken and even longer to receive the order. Our waitress was inattentive and rarely checked to see if refills were needed. The waitress seemed a bit overwhelmed so I will give here the benefit of the doubt but I believe the whole experience is the result of bad management. Bad management in both the staff of the floor and the kitchen. Once food was received I was disappointed as the jalapeno bacon I ordered did not appear or taste like the jalapeno bacon I have had before at previous locations even though I was assured by the waitress that the bacon was indeed jalapeno bacon. In summary, this was the worst experience I have had at a restaurant at the cause of the staff's inexperience and unprofessionalism!!! read more

My wife & I decided to give Denny's another chance today & they did not disappoint. Waited about 10 minutes to get seated (which isn't bad) at a very wet table. At least it had been wiped off. Waitress got our drink orders & drinks delivered. She then took our breakfast orders & I told her at this time that I wanted sugarfree syrup. Waited at least 45 minutes on our food & she sits our food down at someone else's table & they had to tell her it wasn't theirs. She then gives us the food. Problem is no meat is on either plate( supposed to be bacon & sausage). The food is not hot. We tell her the meat was omitted from our order. Sugar free syrup was not delivered until I requested it 2 more times. I don't guess I really needed because I did not eat the cold pancakes. I asked to see the manager & this took another 15 minutes for her to get to my table. I was telling her about my experience & she tried to talk over me until l asked her to please let me talk. About that time the bacon & sausage arrived. Needless to say it was not eaten. The manager said don't worry about the bill. I told her I wasn't worried because I wasn't planning on paying it. At this point we left, never to return again! read more

Never ever left a review on here but my experience was so horrible that I had to. We were seated quickly but our server was the worst! We were sitting 15 minutes before he even took our order. They weren't busy at all. The server Didn't care to check on us anytime after. 25 minutes later we still didn't have our food. In May we decided to give Denny's another chance since their renovations, things went great, great food and great service... until now. Most recently: We were seated promptly ( they were relatively empty, took drink order, but didn't bring it, and then took server about 10 minutes before she came back to our table for our food order.) I ordered grilled chicken with sautéed zucchini and squash and wild rice, husband ordered country fried steak with corn and mashed potatoes. After about 5 minutes the waitress came back and informs us they are out of the zucchini and squash, out of the corn and the mashed potatoes. So essentially out of vegetables other than broccoli, red skin potatoes, hash browns and fruit. How can you be out of vegetables when you offer dinners? So, after 2 bad experiences in a row, Denny's is back to where they were before... poor service and poor food. It's so hit or miss, that we said "ok, we won't be coming back to Denny's" read more

It had been a while since we had eaten at Denney's and thought we would give it a try after a remodel. It took over an hour to get our food and when it arrived it was actually COLD. Not luke warm but cold. We go out 1-2 times a week but won't be back here. read more

I hope this reaches the manager's ears. I have tried to support this Denny's as it is the only one in the area. However, my latest visit was not so good. The wait staff was very loud and boisterous and the manager did not seem to mind. New menu does not give details on Senior Menu, so you don't really know what you are ordering. The manager needs to take charge and make some changes. read more

Only reason I went back was to find the SA Chris. Saw how hard he works and wanted to offer him a job. Was told he now works at the Boiling Springs location called them and was told he didn't work there. Someone said he might be at the Spartanburg location and if course when I called he wasn't there either. The lady did say she wished he did because he works. Worst Denny's ever..... Sat at a table for 10 minutes and no one stopped by to check on our table even though several employees walked past during that table. The restaurant wasn't even crowded. Also it was dirty with tables standing uncleared. With the level of incompetence demonstrated I didn't want to hang around and take a chance on eating the food. Denny's should close this location or revoke the franchise. It's really a major detriment to the brand. read more

Moved to Greenville from New York City, and my son wanted to go there for his birthday, as he had never been to a Denny's before. The restaurant had a moldy scent as we entered. The server was polite. The food took forever to be served to us with the poor waiter explaining that only one chef was on call. But the restaurant was nearly empty so that was a poor excuse. When the food came it didn't look like anything on the menu and we did not get everything that we ordered. Looking for the waiter to have the other items brought to us, he had just disappeared for about 15 minutes and the waitress at the table behind us refused to even look at me when I was trying to get her attention. The food did not taste good, the ingredients was of a very poor quality. Extremely disappointed. read more

My wife and I walked into Dennys at 7:43. I made particular note because I wanted to see how long it wouild take them to clean a table over againnst the center wall. The place only had a few people in there, but a fair number of servers, so when we walked in I expected to see all tables clean. Nope, There were 3 dirty tables. So over the next 50 minutes I watched the server go by and clean something off that table a total of 5 times, and she still had not cleaned all the tash off the floor under the table. Yes, 5 times. She would pick up a plate and cup, then come back in a few minutes and pick up something else. When we left she had just gone by the 5th time to wipe the table down but walked away without so much as cleaning under, and I know she saw it, because I saw her walking up to the table and her head dipped to look under the table. When we left at 55 minutes from entering the trash was still on the floor. It also took her at least 30 minutes to clean all the other tables that were now dirty, and of course she cleaned them in shifts. She was the least effective server I have ever seen. Food was very good, but I had to get up once to get sugar, and I got up again to get a spoon to stir my coffee, and I got up once more for something, but the server was actually coming out. My wife had also gotten the wrong eggs. When we checked out I had to wait for her ticket. So if you have the patience of Job and like good bizarre Sunday morning entertainment such as ultra slow service and lots of dirty tables, Dennys is the place to go. However, if you don't have patience and you are an efficient person, this will wreck havoc on your Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. At least a day like today would, and I have seen numerous reviews talking about the slow inefficeient service multiple times. BTW, a clean time for a table and area should not exceed 90 seconds. And good servers do it even faster. read more

This was the most god awful experience ever! I was downtown Greenville working and decided to grab some breakfast before retiring for the evening. I missed the IHOP and ended up finding Denny's. I am use to Denny's being clean, professional, and delicious for late night food. Yuck. I waited for a table while the manager leaned up against the host stand and talked to a staff member about their "incorrect" hours. I went to the restroom and then still waited for 4-5 minutes before I was seated. They asked if I wanted smoking/nonsmoking and I responded "best server". My clean table was sticky with syrup but I wiped it down with a wet wipe that I randomly had in my purse. My server immediately got my coffee and water and took my order. I never saw her again. No sugar in the container, no ketchup in the bottle, etc. I finally found another server who took care of me (Lisa!! Kudos!!) My food was mediocre at best and I decided to just go home. Stood at the cashier stand for 5 minutes, went to the bathroom, came back and finally flagged my original server down and paid. I asked for the manager, waited another 3-4 minutes, and finally he came out of his office. I told him how bad my experience was...He never apologized, asked if he could make it up to me, or even gave a small damn that his restaurant sucked. I realize now why IHOP and Waffle Houses are always packed and this place isnt. Next time I would rather wait for a table at those two than put another cent into this pathetic excuse of a Dennys!! read more

OMG!!! What is going on with this restaurant??? U never get my order right and always out of items! management don't know what they are doing! I wanted to make 2 separate forms of payment with my bill and was told they could not do that. Asked for manager and they didn't know you could until I had to walk them thru doing it since i am in the restaurant industry. I had to keep flagging my server for coffee because she was just hanging in side station laughing and joking with fellow co workers. Seems like Denny's need to bring in task force and start over with management!!! I wont be returning! read more

Terrible Service, I have been going to this Denny's on a regular basis for 5 years plus. The service has never been good, hit or miss. I finally quit going a year ago. They closed and remodeled a while back so I decided to give it another try. I have gone there 3 times in the last 3 weeks, Visit #1 - I got seated pretty quick, I sat at the table for 8 minutes waiting on a waitress who never came, There were not more than 15 people in the restaurant, I got up and left. Visit #2 We got seated, reasonable time, we got waited on in a reasonable time. We ordered two salads - easy I thought, it took 18 minutes to get our salad, I am so used to poor service in there I set my stop watch on my phone.. Visit #3 - one couple in front of us when we got there, I don't know how long they were there, after 4 minutes of my arrival they seated the couple in front of us, I waited for them to return to seat us, after 6 MORE minutes I have left for the last time at that Denny's. On a positive side the food has usually been good but the poor service has taken away the enjoyment of eating out. read more
