Went there around noon. The place was packed and getting busier. I sat at the counter since that was one of the few places open. My my waitress was attentive and checked on me regularly, which is rare for this location. I could hear the multiple meals got sent back because of customer complaints but the waitress all handled it well. My meal was perfect. I went there last week on a Thursday (2/16/12) at midnight after a very long day, there were a handful of customers but overall pretty empty. The host took me to a table and I asked for water (did not know if I wanted breakfast or dinner) and excused myself to the restroom. I returned to my table, (in the middle of the restaurant). and I set there for 27 minutes with NO SERVICE!! The final straw was when a customer (clearly a regular) was seated, got a cup of coffee and his order taken. I then went to the front register and asked for the manager, I was told she was out front smoking a cigarette! What a joke...the food at any Denny's is not great, but this was ridiculous. Don't know where the people writing good reviews are eating but it's not here!!! #1 There was no one there and we waited almost 45 minutes for our food, that we ordered as soon as we sat down #2 they were out of bananas for the pancakes that are a "special" on their menu when there is a Wal-Mart and a grocery store in the same parking lot #3 As soon as we got our food we placed a to go order that never even got placed. When we went to pay we asked if our to go order was ready, our server that was now eating his lunch got pulled from the back, grabbed his note book and handed our to go order to the kitchen, he then blamed the kitchen and said they could not find the chicken?????????????? As much as I regret saying this, the last few times I visited this Denny's, it was so run down, dirty, and the food and service were suffering like I have not seen before in most Denny's. When I decided not to take things at first glance, but requested a booth by the window, the seats were worn, and the table surfaces were worse than what you might find in some old, run down Mom and Pop greasy spoon out in the stick someplace. I even tried to at least have a cup of coffee, but then, just decided it was more pleasant over at the Casino on Malaga Rd., on the other side of the freeway. I've never been a fan of the Denny's menu, but this was just unforgivably disgusting. It was about three months ago, that I was last at the Denny's in Lake Elsinore, in the Walmart center, so I hope it has been completely redecorated by now. read more

Slow service after being seated quickly. Then we were near the back door. This is the outside break area for the servers. It was a bit cold but every time they opened the door(about every5mins) it got a bit colder. Then we got to hear the 30-50yr old waitresses talk broken Spanish to the bus boy and wait staff about drinking too much beer. Also about their escapades and that they have to drink lots and lots of water today. My 9 yr old asked why they were talking about drinking beer so much. Food was ok as it always is with Denny's. The manager was obviously forced to stop by and say hi. He did not notice the empty glasses from the four of us. He said oh looks good here hope everything tastes good and walked away. No time for us to say anything or even ask for refills. Guess you get what you pay for. Wait I paid too much, get better service and prices at some of the whole in the walls. If I could I wouldn't give it a single star. I brought my family in for breakfast this morning. Let's just say that the only thing served hot was the coffee. I had to go ask for the bill from the waitress. Basically they forgot about us. When I went to pay the two obvious managers were processing bills and when I addressed my unhappy experience with both of them neither one wanted to take managerial responsibility. I have been here almost an hour and have not received my meal. We waited 20 minutes for our server to even notice us. On top of that waited another 10 for our drinks. It is 11:35pm and the place is near empty! I should not have to wait so freaking long. We got there at 9:40 am and started by ordering our drinks and appetizers, 10 minutes later the server tells us that the appetizer we order was not available, we ate starving at this point. Sad to say, Denny's has gone down hill. Last time we were there they didn't have chicken tenders that my husband used to rave about. So he ordered a French toast breakfast which was ok. I ordered the Philly omelette and tasted not bad but definitely not presentable. Also, the hot caramel coffee was too sweet that I had to dilute it with a glass of ice. They also mixed up my hub's drink. He wanted a regular ice coffee n they brought out a caramel ice coffee. I think I can see the misunderstanding there. I've been to other Denny's location and this one is in need of staff training. The waitresses are nice but the cooks and cleaners need to pay more attention. My first thought, nice to be eating inside a restaurant again. My wife and I are in our sixties, when we walked, there was an elderly man yelling at the waitress for some surgar. Really? Some people just don't have any manners. Our waitress, Claudia was nice and pleasant. She was as they say; "Johnny on the spot" She was alone and doing her best handling her customers. Cudos to Claudia. Don't let the grummpy people ruin your sprit. The manager came over to say hello and asked if we needed anything. Nice gesture. Only advice, introduce yourself next time. I had no clue who you were. Another area of concern, the cashier who took my payment. "I'm not your bro or dude. I'm a customer." Proper etiquette goes a long way. Learn from this. 5-stars for Claudia. 4 for the manager and 3 for the cashier. With Covid locking down your place of business, I would have figured, "Spring cleaning" Right? The restaurant itself, especially the restroom, can use some much needed attention. Don't lie on the log that it was cleaned five mintutes before I walked in. They remodeled recently and it is much nicer now. The food is good and has friendly staff. It is not high end and they do not pretend to be. Just good food for a decent price. Wife asked for a substitution on meal and they gave it no problem. Staff helped each other, including the manager. Nice to see. I'm sorry excuse my french, but this Dennys FUCKING SUCKS. No joke i live in Orange County. My girlfriend lives up Summer Hill in Lake Elsinore, and this is our 2nd time at this specific Dennys down the street from her house. Going in and waiting to be noticed by some sort of hostess or server to be seated. They were kinda busy so i couldn't be mad, but waiting for 2 - 5 minutes having one of the workers just stare at use standing awkwardly waiting to be seated, not having them say " Oh be right with you" or "Hold on or please wait". None of that happened. Just staring at us and doing what they were doing. Service is incredibly slow, and just straight awful. Management needs to kick it up a notch. We ended up leaving because we were not noticed and it took a while. Probably didnt even notice us leaving. I wonder how many people dine and ditch there and how often the workers even notice them doing that. read more

My husband and I recently dined here for breakfast and were blown away at how good the food was! My husband ordered the chicken fried steak and I ordered two crepes that came with strawberries and a custard? filling, hash browns, 2 eggs and 2 bacon or 2 sausage. The cook put the crepes on a separate plate and the way they arranged the crepes, filling and strawberries looked amazing, a real work of art! Beautiful presentation! We have eaten at other Denny's but this one is by far the best one for food! We will be dining here a lot more often on our trips out to Lake Elsinore. read more

What a horrible experience. Completely ignored from the beginning. Front staff seated people who came in after us. We had to ask them what's up and then were told we were next..10 mins later. Once seated the waitress wanted our order with less than 40 secs after being seated. After she came back with our water and took our order. We waited and waited and waited. Some people who arrived 20 minutes after we did were seated and received their food about 10 minutes after they placed their order. Their waitress was there and working hard making sure all her customers had what they needed. My wife complained that we had been waiting almost 40 minutes and the waitress came back and asked what we had ordered, claiming that she needed to "find out where our food had gone". She brought my wife's food but my daughter and I had to wait an additional 10 minutes. When the food finally came it was wrong. I wanted scrambled eggs and got over medium. My daughter wanted toast and not hash browns. Our waitress became belligerent and said we couldn't substitute because we ordered from the 2/4/6/8 menu. It wasn't a substitution because the menu said "hash browns OR toast". We finally got the manager to come over and she fixed everything. She got us our food corrected and even comped food. Most of the people there, excluding the front people and our waitress, seemed to be great. The manager especially was great. If you eat here pray you don't get the same waitress we got. read more

My boyfriend and I come here regularly. All of the staff is sooo nice. They know exactly who we are. Almost all of them. Sure on weekend mornings it is busier but the waiters are always busting their butts to move as quickly as possible. It is a restaurant, so when it is busier, it does take a little longer for your food but that's to be expected. Food is always delicious. We love coming in here and reading and conversing with the staff. Theres never someone just standing around. Everyone is always working and conversing with customers when appropriate. To start off this Denny's is mediocre at best. I had to wait in the most crammed waiting rooms of all time. Then once I was seated they didn't ask for drinks or anything. Once they did I waited 20 minutes for drinks. Then I waited 40 minutes for my food. It came out cold. Like holy shit. The food was very bland. I could've cheffed up something better at my place. The French toast was super soggy and very gross. The service had to have been the worst part. I could have gone home and take a shit before they brought my food. read more

Rating 2.5 because although the servers seemed as if they were working pretty hard, coming at 10:30 on a Sunday night with as many customers that were already there it seems as if they were understaffed... The servers definitely had a lot on their plates. My food was mediocre, wasn't all that but it is just Dennys... Did notice that my food was waiting at the counter for a while but again it was pretty busy for only 2 servers to be on the floor at the time. Waiter Garett seemed as if he really was trying his best and trying to be a good server but we didn't appreciate his sarcastic attitude towards us.
