I don't even know where to start with this Denny's... easily one of the worst experiences I've ever had at a restaurant. We came in to celebrate my son's birthday, and the place was basically empty -- so you'd think service would be quick, right? Wrong. We got seated and then completely ignored. No drinks. No silverware. Not even a "we'll be right with you." Nothing. Meanwhile, an older waitress is yelling across the restaurant telling everyone she's about to leave and that "Alexis" is taking over. Cool... except we NEVER saw Alexis. Not once. Five different workers walked past us like we were invisible. The cooks in the back were loud, joking, and having full conversations -- but apparently actually working wasn't part of the plan. And let's talk about the smell... the whole place reeked like cigarettes and vape pens. Disgusting. Felt more like a smoke shop than a family restaurant. The only positive? The hostess had a smokers cough but at least she was nice. Honestly, it sucks because my son just wanted pancakes for his birthday... and instead he got ignored in a half-empty restaurant. The best part? We eventually just got up and left... and nobody even noticed. Or maybe they did and just didn't care At this point, just rename it "Denny's Smoke Shop" because that's about all it's good for. read more

Im only rating 2. We came in today around 1 for food and it took us almost 10 minutes to be seated. Not to mention our server was kinda rude and she rushed us to order. And only half of our order showed up at our table. We even asked if f we could still get the things that we ordered and she said she'd bring it right to us, and it never showed. Not to mention my family and I heard arguing from the back. And some of the food was dry and they came out all at different times. Even other customers were saying things. We did get a refund for the stuff they didn't send, but this was ridiculous. We normally love this place as we sometimes come to this location some mornings. Today just wasn't the day. Conveniently located on Rt. 22 in Monroeville. This is your standard Denny's. If you haven't been to one, think casual, diner environment. The menu is basically breakfast, burgers, and sandwiches. Always go with breakfast! You won't be disappointed! I had the stuffed french toast with strawberries. That being said, I had coffee with my meal. My first cup was hot, but not hot hot and my refill was like warm. Also, our waitress was very abrupt and unfriendly. They weren't busy since it was about 2pm. She only had one other table. Took the grandkids here on our way home from the grocery store. BIG MISTAKE! The only reason it's getting two stars instead of one is because the server was really nice. The food took FOREVER. Other than the steak meal, it was all breakfast (two grand slams and a kid's pancake meal), so it shouldn't have taken 30 minutes to get the meal. We were about ready to just pay for the drinks and leave. Denny's is sandwiched between a Wendy's and an Arby's, so the kids wouldn't have cared. When it finally came out, the food wasn't hot. You'd think for as long as we waited, it should have been! Neither my grandson nor I ate our eggs because they weren't even warm. My granddaughter's steak was supposed to be medium well, and I was afraid it was going to be overcooked since it had taken so long. Steak continues to cook a little after it's removed from the grill. I had nothing to worry about there. It wasn't overcooked. It wasn't even pink, though. It was red in the middle. Luckily, she ate it anyway because she was really hungry. The manager came to our table and told us they were understaffed. Who isn't anymore? She offered to get us fresh food, but when you've already waited thirty minutes for your food and another ten minutes have passed since you got it, you certainly don't want to sit around for another thirty minutes. She didn't like my answer, but oh well. If they're that understaffed, then maybe she should have been in the kitchen helping the cook out. read more

I can't speak for other locations, but the Monroeville Denny's has done an amazing job to keep customers and workers safe - all while maintaining their cheerful amazing service. Brought the family in for dinner. All the food we had was great! Chicken fingers, Mac n cheese, goldfish, bananas, bacon, sausage, burger melt, eggs and pancakes. I really wanted to give a 5 star but the service wasn't 5 star. Our server was really nice but just missed things. Some food came out late. Needed drinks. Normally I wouldn't even review a chain breakfast/lunch place but I felt our breakfast there this past week warranted a review, and a good one at that. We originally decided to eat here because I had a 20% off coupon, BTW on your actual DOB you can walk in show ID and get a free meal. We ordered some standard breakfast fare, I having the classic style with eggs over easy hash browns, two sausage links and two pieces of bacon with a cup of coffee. My husband got similar except he got pancakes as well. No the food at Denny's is not outstanding, nor have I ever yearned to go eat there, but I have to give a shout out to our server who I believe his name was Andre. I am sorry if I am off, so I apologize if I am mistaken. Andre was super upbeat, friendly, attentive, and very helpful. Him and my husband were having such a friendly conversation I was thinking wow he could be like his new BFF... If I could give Denny's in Monroeville PA 15146, 0 stars I would. My family and i went to Dennys in the early evening. It was not busy. There was only one other couple in the section we were put in. Our waitress, a young African American girl, came over to take our drink order. The hot chocolate tasted like water, but she told us how she was new and i let it slide. The pop machine was out of carbonate so it was syrupy. Every pop that she brought out was flat. She apologized and said someone in the back had to change it. It was never changed. So instead, we decided to just get lemonade. We ordered our food. As my family and I are sitting at the table for some time, the waitress comes back over and tells us that there was a glitch in the system and that they are just putting our orders in. We have been sitting at the table for 30mins by this time. Again, she was new, we let it go. When the food finally came out, the Caucausin man that she had help her, slid his fingers in my baked mac and cheese as well has had my daughters plate pressed up against his shirt! Our waitress was carrying a tray with the rest of our food. We told her what happened, and gave it back to her. Instant attitude. We were placed next to the kitchen. When she took the food back, we could hear her tells the cooks what happened, and to our disbelief, our waitress, the cooks who made our food laughed and made jokes about it! LITERALLY the whole time we are sitting at the table LISTENING to them crack jokes about our food and were still waiting on food. This was insane. So, we left. When she bought the food back out, we asked for boxes and the check and left. We lweft the food on the table. In my departure, i left my phone on the table. When i called back up there to them, they acted like they didnt know what i was talking about. Then they said the manager had it. Then they said he left and it was in the safe. It got to the point that i had to call the cops. The manager was upset that we didnt pay but we also did not eat the food nor did we drink the lemonade or the hot chocolate. I had to pay $10 to get my Iphone back....When did restaurants stop caring about who they hire? When is it ever ok to be making fun of customers to their faces? I feel bad for them. This is the worst Dennys I have ever entered and received service from. I went in for my takeout order. I understood there was probably a wait due to the Thanksgiving holiday , but I was not expecting waiting for over 20 minutes. After even waiting I received an alert saying it was ready but when I went to ask , the manager seemed very stressed and honestly rude and said no it was not. I was patient. However , prior to this a woman came up to the counter and was upset and began yelling at the manager (woman with blonde hair and glasses ) stating such things as staff being rude and the manager being rude and displacing attitude. I was taken aback by the chaos and yelling and was surprised the manger yelled back at the customer and stormed off. Yes the customer was telling , but for the manager to yell back did not seem professional. Anyways , when I finally received my order I noticed as I got in my car , one of my meals was missing. So I grabbed my receipt and went back in the restaurant. I went up to the manager , since she was at the front ,and informed her that one of my meals were missing. She states ," you need to go grab your bag and bring it in ." I was confused and clarified " I need to bring my bag back in?" She rudely says yes and I run out and grab my bag and when I came back in she goes " sorry we found it !" She didn't even check my bag. So I grabbed my bag for nothing ! I'm sure it was a stressful day due to the holiday , but it doesn't excuse the demeanor , tone and extremely hostile and rude attitude coming from this woman. This needs to be addressed. Bad service. Bad food! We went to Denny's for dinner. It was around 4:45 so it wasn't crowded yet. There was only two of us, and each of us ordered a meal that didn't require a long cook time - the Original Slam with scrambled eggs, sausage, and bacon and the Turkey Club sandwich with fries. It took FOREVER to get the food! I wanted to ask our server why it was taking so long, but after she took our order, she disappeared and never reappeared until she brought us our food (over 30 minutes later). My sandwich was fine and the fries were hot. However, the Slam was the most disgusting thing I've ever seen ordered in a restaurant! There were two eye lashes in the eggs! At least they looked like eye lashes. That or someone had very short black hair. The bacon and sausage were ice cold. There wasn't even one hint of warmth to them. I wanted the meal replaced, but again, our server had disappeared after she brought the food out. She never returned to make sure everything was okay. My food got cold watching for our server to surface. I finally gave up and went up to the registers to ask if someone could find her. Then she reappeared and said she'd get the manager. She didn't offer to replace the meal. I went back to the table and told my daughter that we were leaving. The manager came over, and I showed her the eye lashes in the food and told her how cold it was. She didn't say much of anything either so I just asked her if we could leave. And we did. I've gone to this Denny's for most of my life and today, I had the most awkward experience I've ever had at a restaurant. While waiting for my food with my friends, a man dressed as a pirate came out from the kitchen and asked us "how is everything?" We replied and he said "I'm gonna give you guys some gifts, there's a website on the back where you can watch movies for free!" He then dropped about 5 or 6 small, heavily religious, pamphlet sized comic books on the table. At first, we didn't realize what they were and assumed Denny's was giving out some free coupons. But after reading a few pages, I realized that this guy is trying to convert us to Christianity by interrupting our meal, on Halloween, at Denny's with some very obnoxious religious propaganda. I've never felt more uncomfortable, mostly due to the fact that I couldn't stop reading the ridiculous comics out loud and laughing, and was concerned the guy might hear me. We made sure to ask the server if he even worked there, because he was also seemingly the only employee wearing a costume, but she said that he was indeed the dishwasher. Sometimes you have to just go back to the neighborhood restaurants. Went here for breakfast, and the food was great. The price is great too. Now I can buy off the senior menu. It's pretty awesome. Plus with my AARP card I get 15% off. I had bacon, sausage, cheddar cheese eggs, and pancakes for $5.73, and it was delicious. I would have given 5 stars but the bacon is a little thin and small. Also, we got two slices of pumpkin pie to go. We tried to eat it after we got home--it was awful. We took one bite and threw it out. This is saying something because I love pie. LOL read more

If we go out to eat for breakfast I either like to go to Bob Evans or it has to be a Ihop. Usually we just end up making breakfast at home. This wasn't the case the past few months. We had a couple coupons for breakfast at Denny's so we decided to try them out. It was a few years since we last ate breakfast at Denny's. I kept seeing the advertisement about their new buttermilk pancakes. So the first time that we came here I did get the pancakes with bacon, eggs and potatoes. They were good. I don't remember what they used to taste like but they were slightly better than average pancakes to me. The second time around I ordered the almost exact thing but this time I ordered French toast and I really did enjoy them. It was really good French toast and I would come back for that. My wife did enjoy her breakfast too. She is not a pancake eater but she liked her breakfast slam and her eggs. Like usual she gave me her pancakes! They have good coffee here as well. Overall it was ok breakfast food and I would come back for the French toast. The service was good too. Our waitresses were very nice and very helpful when I had some menu questions. One more note I think this is a good place to take the kids too for breakfast even though they didn't come with us. read more

Hubby & I came here often during a quick few days in Monroeville recently. Standard Denny's, was clean and everyone was friendly. Food and portions were good. Must give special shout out to Joseph who works the late night shift. He was so warm and welcoming, we told him so and also left him a nice tip accordingly.
