    Busy counter

I just had the most amazing service at a Denny's in Palm Desert, CA. When I went in, it was the breakfast rush and they still had a seat for me at the bar. The place is like a symphony. The wait staff hits you up for coffee, water, order immediately. They have big bright color counter order system that they all can see, track the orders, they have signs up warning staff to not use their cell phones. To check out you can scan your receipt and pay with credit card and add tip. Great service, great food, and reasonable! I'm impressed. And that is hard to do these days, Great job Denny's of Palm Desert!

This is a new and well-decorated Dennys. It does have much more the diner feel. Good service overall every time. Try the 55+ menu!

I just had to write to say how wonderful our waitress was when we stopped by for dinner about 7:30 p.m. this week. Sadly, I cannot recall her name, but she had short black hair and wore black horn-rimmed glasses. She was fast with a request and serving, while also creating a welcoming environment for my partner and me. Excellent representative of the restaurant! I hope you will compliment her. :-)

    Location of this Dennys

Dennys on 42455 Washington in Palm Desert , I have observed and experienced waitresses problems with 2 employees Jamie & Stephanie, these employees they bring your plate late as u can see your plate waiting to be picked up warm, I observed them on their phones by the bathroom like on purpose they don't care about service. One of the waitress has long nails and scratches her hair doesnt wash hands, then serves your plate, 2 bad waitresses management is not doing a good job. Careful being waitress by a Jamie or Stephanie....

Here is my receipt I did use card
    Brenna K.

We waited a while for our food. Food came out cold. Every single plate was called. I did complain and explain how the food is cold. They said something that they could do about that and they gave me a three dollar off discount. I am upset and I would like a refund.

Not only the food is excellent and NOT overpriced like other places where we are coming home . The sever service is also absolutely lovely. She is so attentive . Not to mention they gave our kids a bag full of crayons for coloring - my kids were angel during the whole meal as they are occupied by the large coloring sheet and all that crayons lol. What a great experience . We will come back if we are around the area again .

We were seated right away and chose to sit on the patio since the weather was nice. The patio had a shaded seating area which made it really comfortable. My 3-year-old ordered the kids' egg breakfast, and the portions were very generous. I would have liked the hash browns to be a little crispier, but they were still good overall. I can't quite remember our server's name--I believe it was Pam--but she was incredibly friendly and attentive throughout our visit. I kept things simple and ordered the 6 oz grilled chicken with a side of sweet potato and avocado since I'm trying to watch what I eat (doctor's orders). What I really had my eye on, though, was the Reuben sandwich--maybe next time! Overall, it was a great little diner and a nice surprise find. Definitely worth stopping by if you're in the area

The location was easy to find, ample parking too. The restaurant itself is kind of small (it's kind of more like a coffeehouse with a decent-sized table-service area), but we only had to wait about 10 minutes for a table on our second visit. (Yep, we liked it enough that we went twice during our trip!) The servers and staff were friendly, attentive, and helpful. The food was hot and delicious, and the portions were generous. And there were a good variety of savory and sweet brunch items to choose from. They also serve lunch and have a bakery counter, but I didn't look too hard at those parts of the menu because I knew I wanted the short-rib scramble as soon as I saw it on the online menu, haha! And the biscuits--oh my goodness, they are so good. They taste perfectly homemade and are pillow soft yet just the right amount of crumbly without being a dried, cracking mess. Across my 2 visits, I had the short-rib scramble (yum) and the Meany (basically eggs, sausage, potatoes, and a biscuit--yum), and my daughter had the biscuits and gravy, which she said was great. I highly recommend Wilma & Frieda's and will definitely go back on future Palm Springs trips.

After being seated, we waited quite a while before someone finally came over to take our food and drink order. After placing our order, we sat there for well over 30 minutes waiting. Our drinks, which were just an orange juice and a coffee, never arrived, and no one ever came back to check on us or give us an update. We were simply left sitting there with nothing. At that point, we decided to get up, cancel our order, and leave. I completely understand that restaurants can get busy, but there was little communication and we felt completely forgotten. It is really unfortunate because this used to be one of my favorite brunch spots. I hope this was just an off day, but today's service was unacceptable and incredibly disappointing. I truly hope they can turn things around because I would love to enjoy this place again. However, until then I don't think I will be coming back.

The outdoor seating is tucked into a charming, quaint patio that feels like any hometown. There is plenty of sunlight and fresh air. The vibe is comfortably casual: you could roll in dressed to the 9s and absolutely own it while sipping mimosas from the full bar, or show up a little pale with bedhead after a long night, grab a hair of the dog Bloody and not get a second glance or side-eye. We called ahead and were quickly seated when we arrived. Waters were filled, menus were dealt, and we were given an appropriate amount of time before ordering. The staff checked in regularly, and our food arrived within a comfortable timeframe. Overall the service was solid. The menu is nicely diverse with enough variety to satisfy just about anyone. Plus there are a few hidden gems for those willing to stray from the usual standards. We went for the road less traveled with the Tamale & Eggs (go pork) and the Pastrami Dog. Both of those were winners! The homestyle cooking really shines here, not just in flavor but in the generous portions. One dish that didn't quite land for me was the Gazpacho. Knowing how laborious it can be to prepare, I was honestly surprised to see it on the menu. When I ordered it, I was asked if I wanted it with avocado and/or shrimp. I've always had it with avocado, and usually with shrimp. Anyway, I'll also admit I'm just a bit ;-) finicky when it comes to Gazpacho. The best versions rely on hand picked ingredients for the highest quality, careful balance, and enough time for the flavors to properly meld and develop. I can't speak to how this one was prepared, but it felt like it was missing the depth and integration that make a great gazpacho stand out. This place is well worth a visit. If you're planning to go on a weekend or holiday, it's smart to at least call ahead, like we did. It's the kind of spot that gives people a reason to keep coming back.
