It was late & a server (maybe the busboy?) was about to bring us to our table. He asked if we wanted a booth, we said yes. He hesitated & asked us to wait while he asks another guy, I'm assuming to be the manager. The guy was taking his time & was near the soda fountain. Mind you, the restaurant was only 10-15% full. We waited... and waited. Finally after about 15mins, we decided to leave and get Burger King to go, the one adjacent Denny's. If they don't want to serve paying customers at 11pm, then they should just close early. Please don't waste our time. read more

Don't order the new "Lasagna". It claims to have cheese AND meat, but it doesn't actually have meat. It has some strange kind of cheese with a peculiar texture. Perhaps it was frozen? Ii is served by itself in a bowl very hot, which has a liquid mix of what looks like spaghetti sauce, that has particles of meat. And there marketing strategy appears to not include any sides,but then upsell you extras. Denny's used to be a better place, and a better deal. read more

Went out with family to have a late night dinner. I ordered a chicken skillet, my family got fried chicken platter and hamburger. My chicken skillet dish was sweet and savory, potatoes were soft and would go well with rice. However, the fried chicken platter was extremely salty, even the fries and zucchini/squash. The burger was decent, what you expect at a Dennys. The food took a while to arrive about 20 minutes, but the service was great. The waiter was nice and friendly. read more

I would leave a minus 10 if I could. The service and server are undertrained. I was charged almost $20 for toast and hash brown due to server error. The server charged a full meal. I was told I could build my own and comes with 4 things. When I brought it to the manager, he refused to understand too! Never again!! read more

Everything worked out great and the food was good. What amazed me was there was one person greeting/seating visitors and waiting all the tables. He did a good job keeping on top of things considering he was a one man show serving 8 tables by himself. I guess volume of visitors is hard to predict, so I get it. We were excited to come here because they have a promotion where kids eat free (I don't remember exactly, but it might have been everyday), so if it worked out well that'd be a huge deal for us with two kids! But we were pretty disappointed with the food and experience. Right off the bat, when you get in there, there's a really strong smell of farm animals and urine. Not a great combo for a restaurant. I would understand if it was right next to a farm or farmland or something, but this doesn't seem to be the case, I could be wrong though. It seemed like it was surrounded by businesses. Eventually the smell wasn't that bad (you start to get used to it after a while), and we ordered. I got the premium chocolate chip pancakes as one of my food items. They had a photo of them in the menu and omg what I got was so drastically different than the photo. My pancakes had some chocolate chips sprinkled on the top and bottom, but absolutely none inside the pancake, and they didn't taste very "premium" at all. The premium ones are more expensive than the regular pancakes, and I'm not sure why. They were basically just regular pancakes with some chocolate chips placed on the outside. They weren't even distributed well, it was like a whole bunch of them clumped together in one area and then the rest of the pancake was bare. Our waiter was nice enough, but he seemed like he was in an argument with the cook or something, and we also weren't checked on very often. The kids' meals were free though and this was a nice come up! Probably won't travel out here to come again because it wasn't a great experience, it is far for us and we just noticed it on the way out to Pleasanton a couple months ago. read more

Came to Dennys after we were not served at nations and I think it was the best thing that we did didn't even know there was a Denny's in Pleasanton but when we were leaving the parking lot we saw it and we thought we try it. The man thatgreeted us was so friendly and welcoming it was awesome! He gave us a moment to look at the menu then we ordered to go he was very friendly his name was Esquill he had everything in the bag that we asked for and the food was hot thank you to the Cook as well because he was one guy back there and he was cooking very fast. Horrible service! Actually no service what so ever. I got seated and left after 10 minutes. The waiter walked pass by me 3x and didn't bother to acknowledge me, didn't ask if I wanted something to drink or if I was ready to order. Instead he went to take the drink orders from the people that came after me. I waited a few more minutes and when I looked towards the kitchen, he was busy on his phone. The service and food are great. We like the changes in menus throughout the year and new dishes offered. Loved the refillable hot choclate...and it is absolutely delicious! Had the prime rib Cobb salad. The beef was tender, but a bit overcooked. The restaurant is clean, well maintained, and the booths are super comfortable. Update on my previous review. I went back because our first visit was so good. Unfortunately THIS time well my BFF and I went in for breakfast. We enjoyed our food. BUT when it was time to pay our server I believe his name was Cesar. He had a hand held credit card machine. We have dined at this Denny's several times. The wait staff has been quite courteous every time. Two days ago our server was Antonio and he was the best server we've had there. Friendly, courteous and fast to respond to any questions or requests we had. He waited multiple tables, bringing orders and cleaned vacated tables as well and all with a cheerful attitude. We were very disappointed with today's Dennys visit. We had to wait more than five minutes in an almost empty restaurant to be seated while the only visible employee ignored us and kept sweeping the floor. And then we were told that outdoor seating was closed. The only reason we like coming here is for the pleasant patio seating, especially when COVID infections are on the rise again. We had to eat indoors, seated at a table less than 6 feet from the only other occupied table, and the food was as always at best, acceptable. We wished we would have left when we were told we had to eat inside. And then just to make us more regretful, we spotted a freshly seated customer OUTSIDE enjoying his meal with his dog. We have been here often since this location opened but probably won't be back to this Dennys. read more
