I find it funny that upon arrival a table with 4 WHITE people are being waited on hand and foot.. as soon as my Hispanic son and I walk in -nobody seats us, a WAITRESS sits us down, and of course nobody takes our order until we ask someone to.. of course the assumption was that we weren't going to tip as well but acting like that definitely makes us not want to tip at all. Four stars for a Denny's? Damn straight!!! Basically, it's a 3 star joint... So... Why 4 stars? Well, the food is good, (not great), however, the store is really clean and there is adequate parking. Great prices for sizable meals. But the real difference here, (at least for us), is the service. Now, we've been here quite a few times, and it has always been during the evening hours. Wherein comes the 4th Star. The night manager here is FUC'n awesome!!! And I can't say it enough. I just wish I knew his name. (Will have to be sure to get that next time in and update the review). He will always stop by your table, strike up a brief convo and make sure that everything is up to not only Denny's standards, but your standards as well. But the icing on the cake was our last visit the other evening. My granddaughter saw a favorite stuffed toy of hers in the "claw machine". Keep in mind that these machines are not the property of the restaurant's, but are a private enterprise. Anywho, there was a note on the machine that said it was "out of order", but that any toy inside could be bought for $10. When the manager approached our table, we asked him about the potential purchase of said stuffed animal and he said, "Hmmm, let me go check, the machines aren't ours". He then proceeded to put his own money into what was listed as an "out of order machine" and win the toy we wanted after a couple tries!!! He then walks over to our table and presents it to my granddaughter!!! That, my friends, is about as classic of a case study on customer service and satisfaction as you will ever get. The service here is okay. Honestly, we [my sister, my daughter, and I] walked in and we were greeted and we sat where ever we wanted. Then the waitress took our order for the drink literally right when we got cozy in our booth the waitress came over. She asked what we wanted to drink then got our drink came back like minute later and brought our drinks back. I wasn't ready to decide what I want. I asked her to give us more time and she did come back nicely asked us if we were ready and i said I wanted a garlic peppercorn sirloin with mash potatoes and corn. Then told me she didn't have sirloin today so then I ask her if she can do the garlic peppercorn and she said yes! I was so thrilled bc I was craving the garlic peppercorn sirloin. Food is good but I really recommend that they update their closing time online. I came in at 8:30pm and the staff stated they close in 30 minutes. However, both yelp and online states their closing hour is 10pm. I did notice that they turn off their outdoor lights by 8:30pm I guess to prevent people from coming in. read more

At a technician on the move throughout the day, I have 30 minutes for lunch. Spent 10 minutes waiting and nobody came to take my order. Not busy at all inside. Never had an issue at any other Dennys getting an order in within 10 minutes. Especially when it's not busy. read more

I checked out this Denny's because they participate in the cash back program. While there were a couple miscommunications the service was satisfactory. My friend and I really enjoyed the bacon loaded tater tots. I feel it paired well as an appetizer for the breakfast we ordered. I ordered a custom grand slam with sunny side up eggs, 2 pancakes, sausage, bacon, and hash browns. My friend requested a Chicken Cutlet with eggs over easy and the standard sides. Our eggs were mixed up but it was very minor for us considering we enjoyed our meals. I'd be back again for more pancakes once I find the chance, and when I feel adventurous I'll try a burger. read more

Having a good server makes such a difference, even at a coffee shop like Denny's. Dianna was great server and even brought us coffee without being prompted. Denny's is a decent place for breakfast. They seem to know how to do it right. Its pretty cheap $6.99 for a build your own breakfast grand slam, and its open 24 hours. read more

It's smells awful because of a plumbing problem that the owner is too cheap to fix. The staff is so nice and always apologizing for the stench. Inside the bathroom smells better than in the restaurant. It makes it very hard to eat. All the booths are super old and run down. It needs a huge face lift and a good plumber! read more

Worst customer service I have ever received in my life. I politely asked to have my steak remade because it was medium well when first brought out, when that wasn't what I asked for , not to mention the waitress never asked me how I wanted my steak cooked , then the chef and the waitress gave me a hard time about it. At first she said " oh okay we can go ahead and remake that for you " , then brought me out the same steak after she had put it in the microwave , which was not what I wanted so I politely asked for them to make a whole new steak & the chef LITERALLY refused to make me a new one . These people are racist. Placed my order at 1725 to be ready at 1745. Get there at 1830. The hostess (Abigail ?) Doesn't even check but tells me my order isn't ready. The white lady before me gets her order perfectly fine. I wait 20 minutes and go back inside now the manager helps the white couple in front of me with a smile. He grimaced at me and then asked what I needed I told him I was waiting for my online order. He said he has been in the kitchen and was EXTREMELY dismissive. They check and tell me the order that has been sitting there the whole time was mine and begins to lecture me about how I was late. After telling me twice it wasn't ready. Very empty when we arrived. They let us choose our table, and asked if we had drinks in mind when we sat down, which we did. They came (smoothie and coffee) in about 4 minutes. We ordered, and our food came in about 10-15 minutes, with nothing missing. Coffee refills came around at the right time. Overall, no issues. The staff was really nice :D read more

Had an absolutely spectacular meal! I tried the bourbon chicken skillet and the sauce was amazing. My boyfriend got the cinnamon pancakes and I tried a bite. It was gooey and crunchy. I am really looking forward to going back to get the chicken strip salad. read more

Don't come here is all I have to say. My first impression was that this place smells bad but I had just got off of work and came to have breakfast. First of all the server had horrible service. She took way to long to come and take my order so I kindly asked to get my order to go. After that I still had to wait so I just paid for my orange juice, got my refund, and left. Finally a Denny's opened up in the San Pedro/Rancho Palos Verdes area! So this Denny's just opened up on 4/4/10 and I usually wait for a little while to go into a new place since it usually takes some time for the service and the quality of food to work itself out...but I gave it a try anyways. It was last Saturday afternoon and the b/f and I got off of work and we were hungry. So we headed over to this new Denny's to give it a try. The restaurant is kind of small but I think it will be O.K. for this area. The design is the same old boring Denny's design but that's fine. We were seated right away at a dirty table and I asked the hostess if someone would wipe down our table and she said no problem and she was very polite. In fact she returned a moment later and wiped the table down herself and apologized. We sat there for awhile and no one was taking our order and as a matter of fact some people were seated after us and their order was taken before ours. I made eye contact with a waiter and he did come over and take our order. We got the appetizer sampler and the chicken deluxe salad. I told the waiter we wanted extra ranch dressing...I mean why else go to Denny's right :o) It took awhile to get the drinks but they were really good when we did get them. I had the Peach Iced Tea Chiller and the b/f had the Four Berry Fizz. When the food came there was no ranch dressing and the waiter said that it would be up right away...it took several minutes and then he dropped off a small portion of ranch...not nearly enough for even 1/3 of the salad! The owner/manager heard me ask the waiter for more ranch but the waiter didn't hear me as he zoomed away so fast...so the owner/manager brought out my ranch for me and even got me one more! I thought that was really good customer service on his part! Overall, it's just your average Denny's. I think with time the service will improve and I definitely will be back soon. It's good to have a place in the area that is open 24 hours. read more

The same location is listed twice, but, it's the same average experience, trust me. It's Denny's, what do you expect? To their credit, I find this place to have good service, Fernando did a nice job with our group. We came here after church, around 9:30 and had no wait. The parking lot has small spaces and not many of them, so if you come at a crowded time, you may need to park on the street. My kids like their kid drinks; mango and strawberry banana smoothies. My grandma really liked their pecan pancakes, which were good! read more
