Food was undercooked. Called over 3 times for status on takeout. Was hung up on twice. When food was made it put my girlfriend and me into stomach pains as it was not cooked. Last night had the worst steak ever! This smallish sirloin could have been the heel on a man's shoe! It was tough and chewy and probably 30% undigestable! I ordered a healthy omelette with fruit and English muffin. Was very good. Food was pretty fast (we were starving). The waiter was very nice. Service was good, but that's about it. Food was absolutely disgusting. The sausage tasted like it was uncooked. I would say the French toast had no flavor but actually it did it just wasn't a good one. We all had to use extra syrup to cover up the taste. Eggs had no seasoning and pancakes were bland. The only reason we ate it was we were all pretty much starving and we didn't have time for anything else. Compared to the bay area Dennys this location is gourmet cuisine! Really enjoyed my experience here. Thumbs way up!

Spectacularly bad food, no kidding! Had two ten dollars double cheeseburgers and the meat tasted terrible and the bread was stale and plain distasteful. I use to think that diners burgers were a step above than fast foods but Denny's managed to change that belief. Coffee seriously mediocre, the other two dishes, one senior omelet and one waffle with scrambled egg were as plain as day while the price a little too steep for what they got. Service given by Diane was nice and she in no way is included on the downward spiral of Denny's from what it used to be? Had to say, glad I did, but if anyone is an AARP member they offer some very nice discounts. I know is not the gourmet mecca of the area but , seriously folks, if you are going to spend around $50 dollars for lunch, can a person expect or even demand something better for the dollars spent? 2 Stars. read more

I am a huge fan of Denny's and a regular customer. Ci've eaten at many all over the U.S. They've always been able to accommodate my order and make substitutions without hassle. For the first time today, this Denny's would not substitute my pancakes for an extra order of hashbrowns on the Lumberjack Slam....I couldn't believe it. On top of that my food was served on a dirty plate and I had to request a clean one. Awful! I typically don't complain and am easy going but this was unacceptable! read more

This is by far the slowest Denny's I have entered. As soon as I entered the restaurant i was quickly greeted, and seated, which I actually was happy about. But after figuring out what I wanted, I sat for about 15-20 minutes before being asked what I would like. To me it seems like the place is severely understaffed and is causing stress on everyone there, I seen multiple orders being sent back due to wrong sizes, or wrong ingredients. At one point it looked like one server was off the clock but still kept working to keep the flow going. read more

Sunday 930am we arrived. We were a party of 5. We were seated in an timely manner. Great so far, right? Well that was the best part of the whole experience. Our server was not friendly and screwed our order up. I ordered no Onions, why? Does it matter why? I'll tell you onions make me sick with ... and I'm headed to the softball game. I got the Philly cheesesteak sandwich, mostly because I wanted to get a small taste from my past experiences on the east coast. When the sandwich came it was stone cold, it was not what I even hoped it could be. So I told the waiter, he told the cook, and out pops another Philly cheesesteak sandwich steaming hot. Worst breakfast ever. had the all american. the bacon is so thin it breaks just lifting it up the sausage tastes old and unlike any sausage i ever had. the scrambled eggs were overdone and cold. the hash browns with average but the best thing on the plate. the coffee was the worst i have ever had in my life. we asked for a fresh pour and got the same burnt old taste. service was excellent. but we wanted a good breakfast and it was awful. my last ever trip to Denny's. read more

I go to Denny's pretty often as there is one right by my house and usually have a really nice experience. So I was really disappointed about my experience at this Denny's. The server was very nice my issue was with the kitchen. While waiting for our order to come the cook and someone else in the kitchen were talking so loud it almost sounded like they were fighting which made the atmosphere a little uncomfortable. When we got our order my skillet looked super skimpy compared to all the other times I have ordered it, and it was not even sizzling. I realized it was missing the broccoli which is probably why it looked so meager but it also did not have much potatoes. I asked the server about the broccoli and he right away went to tell the cook that he forgot to add broccoli to my skillet. I started to eat slowly so that the broccoli would come and I could eat it with the rest of my meal, however after I was already halfway through and it still did not arrive. I was watching the cook while I was waiting and saw that he sent out 3 dishes before he put the broccoli in chef mic. It wasn't until my server asked him again that he said it was coming and my server had to come back and tell me that it was going to take just a few more minutes. By the time I got the broccoli the rest of my food was barely warm. I definitely don't recommend coming here if that cook continues to send out food like this, but I feel bad for the servers who all seemed nice. read more

We went to Denny's the other night after a night of shopping.We had a very polite and professional server his name was Jake.There was a mistake made on or order which is understandable.We all kind of started laughing and he said he'll take care of that and get another order and I said Ok will take any mistakes.I did proceed to eat the potatoes that came with the sandwich off the plate.And then I noticed the manager and another worker standing at the counter looking over at us and then they would say something to each other. I finally motion to him to come over he ignored me.Jake came to the table. And I asked him where my Super Slam breakfast was he said well the manager said because you ate some of the food on the plate that you have to pay for that and he's not getting you the Super Slam.We asked if he could send the manager over I think the managers name was Fernando but I don't know because he didn't have a name tag on.He was extremely arrogant and said listen Guy you eat food I'm not giving you the Super Slam and you're paying for that.I explained.Well for the first 20 minutes I ate portion that was correct which was the potatoes.Just the worst display of public relations I've ever seen and with this passive but persistent arrogance from the manager Fernando that was just unbelievable.I tried to reason with him at first but he was so arrogant I let him know how extremely dissatisfied I was. read more

Came in to Denny's during busy morning hours on my drive to La Jolla on a Saturday. Though the wait for a booth was near 30 minutes, my girlfriend and I sat at the bar and were tended to quickly, and the waiter was nice. Let me be perfectly clear, when it comes to an establishment like Denny's, I look for three things, cleanliness, customer service, and how good my food tastes... Everything else, face it, you are at Denny's, if you want ambiance, pony up for a nicer joint. The Denny's in San Clemente crushed it. My water was delivered in a glass with lemon and a straw (as opposed to nasty plastic cups they used to have), our waiter was friendly, and kept us informed about the progress of our order, and my Red, White, and Blue Slam was scrumptious. I know not all Denny's are alike, which is why I posted this review... If you take the toll road between the 405 FWY and Interstate 5, this is a good bet for some quick, good eats. read more

The 5 stars is more for Allie then it is for Dennys it's self. Although, I must say they cooked their over easy eggs to perfection! And , I have always had a great experience here. Plus, the people watching is fab. So, tonight - I came solo. I needed to clear my head. Have a hot cup of coffee , like a full one with no interruption from work/school. It was nice. Allie was my server and so on top of it. Very endearing, quite lovely actually. When the restaurant was empty she came over and talked to me. We had a wonderful conversation. It was short and sweet, but just what I needed. People underestimate the intuitive nature of "servers. " She just Knew. For the food. Come on people it's Denny's - they've got it down to a science. We own a local restaurant and eat at Denny's almost every night after we close. Love this location!! The manager is awesome and the food is super consistent. The Cali club sandwich is really good, the new blueberry lemonade is awesome. Highly recommend this late night location! read more
