I've traveled all but two (2) states of the "United States"... Used to look for a Denny's, but began avoiding them as I also avoided I Hop, McDonalds, etc.... Terrible service, terrible food! I walked into a Denny's in Victoria, Texas and was amazed! It was clean, service was pleasant and it has a "regular clientele" known by name and where they sit, drink and food preference!!! Ahhhmazing!!! After over 30 years in the industry and out of it for ten, due to the downfall of service...I must applaud!!! Worst service Ever. I had gone in there on Monday during lunchtime. they got our drinks and we placed our order but it took over an hour to get our food and it was cold. While waiting for our food we overheard one of the servers and one of the cooks yelling at each other. I really don't recommend going here if this how the restaurant is being run. Filthy restaurant. Scum and old food on the tables, the seats, and the floor. Bathroom was horrendous. They don't have ingredients for half the items on their menu. Probably the worst service ever received at a Denny's. Five employees were standing at the counter and didn't even offer to seat us right away. The wait was horrendous for our food, the restaurant was dirty, I had a hair in my coffee, my server couldn't get my order right, they were out of multiple items from the menu, they had one server for what seemed like the entire restaurant, management was oblivious(didn't touch tables once when they were obviously having multiple issues) and don't even get me started on the wait for a refill on my coffee... I realize it's 9 pm on Christmas Day, so I'm willing to give people a break. But come on people. We waited for at least 10 minutes as a lady, who was obviously the manager walked by 5 or 6 times cleaning off tables. The restaurant was 3/4 empty. The line behind us was backing up so I finally went up to her and asked if we were supposed to seat ourselves. She loudly answered "No ma'am. I'm cleaning off tables to seat you". I don't know why they didn't seat us at a clean table and then clean the others off since there were about 15 people waiting. My problem was no one even acknowledged us despite walking by multiple times. The least she could've said was "Give me one second". Like I said, it's Christmas. I do understand it sucks to work on Christmas. So now we are seated. It's been 30 minutes and no one has come to check on us after taking our order. The store is still 3/4 empty because we just watched at least 20 people walk out because they waited and waited with no acknowledgement from staff. Waiters, waitresses and boyfriends are playing around and joking it up. They take an order to one of the 3 cooks and ask him for a hamburger with a sunny-side up egg on it. The waiter tells him the table said he could take his time. He said "I was going to regardless". I see 9 plates waiting to be taken out as the waiters stand there and talk about "I'm so rich I pick my teeth with my credit card". What does that even mean? Now there is a line of people waiting to pay. The waiter picks up plates and it's the table with the special hamburger. No special hamburger is there. The waiter asks about it and the cook says "I don't have time for that." People waiting to pay getting irate as the General Manager (so her name badge says) does nothing. More people walk out. The place is even emptier than when we began. And I'm out of Dr. Pepper. The cook is out here making himself some coffee. No wonder he doesn't have time to make a sunny-side up egg...at a place known for their breakfast. Seriously. This place sucks. I can't comment on the food because we still haven't got it. The manager does t have a clue. Oh wait, our food has now been sitting in the window for 5 minutes. I can see it. I heard them ring the bell. Bring me my damn food, or I'm going to come and get it. If it's cold I'm sending it back. And I'm watching you cook. So the manager took our order and here she goes walking out the door. 10 minutes and our food still sitting there. I stop a waitress for our food. She asks who our server is. I tell her the manager that just walked out the door. She's like "oh, Ok." Turns to someone and says these people want their food. We finally get it. There are about 4 tables of people and I hear them tell a waitress that just walked in (one of 4 waitresses) that they can't seat anyone until the tickets in the window are clear. The slow ass non-giving a shit cook just doesn't care. He's back out here talking to people. So a couple seats themselves. Everyone watches them walk by and no one says a word to them. They sit there for a while and finally ask someone for help. He tells them "only the front is open and its a 30 minute wait". What? You have 4 tables full. Oh wait, make that 3. One just walked out because it took too long to get their food, which was sitting in the window but none of the 4 waiters would bring it to them. Now they are bitching about wasting that food and the cook is like "Oh well". I want to throat punch him. So you have a waitress for every table and almost a cook for every table and you can't make it work. Wow. They just told a woman on the phone no to go orders cause they are too busy. This is a-freaking-maxing. Lol Like I said, it sucks to work on Christmas. I get that. But you code to work in the hospitality industry. At least be hospitable. To sum it up. We were there for 1 hour and 45 minutes. They did give us the 15% AARP discount because the manager called and told them she forgot her table, which was us. This was a freaking side show. Food at this location was ok as are most other Denny's. You don't go to Denny's for a gourmet meal, you go for quick, accurate service along with decent food. Am I right? Where to start...... Dirty windows... Dirty / sticky table from syrup... If I could I would give it 0 stars, but our waitress was very nice. Food was average Denny's. It was 45-50 degrees in the restaurant. I felt like I was in a walk in freezer. I will never return to this location. The manager did finally turn on the heater. Waited forever for drinks...were out of oj on a sun. Morning...strange. waited almost an hour for breakfast and refills on coffee took way too long. Also, they didnt know what a baby sling was even though we asked for one and saw them in the building. We Ended up putting our baby in a booth directly next to our table within arms reach since they didnt seat us anywhere else. There were empty tables and they seated a family in the booth right next to my baby in her carseat which was even more odd....wont be back. Only good thing I can say is that food was hot. read more

ATTENTION: 10 out of 10 would not recommend. This service sucks. We wanted to have a happy Christmas meal with the family but it was complete crap. The eggs were watery. We arrived and were seated at 7:41 I didn't even get my food until 10:14. But I was the last meal. They messed up on every single meal and entirely skipped mine. It wasn't even busy in there. To be optimistic, they did give us the meals they messed up on for free. But then again if we wanted that we would've ordered it in the first place. We took it because we were hungry. I have been here twice before the remodeling, but haven't been since. The first time, I went with my daughter (about 1.5) and my little brother (about 7). The food was fine, but not all the good. The second time I went with the people I worked with: my boss, his main guy, my mom, and I. We ordered drinks, got them, and then ordered our food. While we were waiting for our food, my boss happened to glance over at the kitchen were he saw a chef drop what he assumed was his steak, along with the spatula. He then picked them both up, looked around and just put it back on the grill. I didn't personally see it, but witnessed the incedent. My boss yelled at him, saying he saw him. The manager came up and spoke with him, but we ended up just leaving for fear of getting nasty food either way! I'm willing to go again since the remodel, in hopes that it will be better, but we mostly end up going to IHOP if we want breakfast. read more

Very bad service..... I normally go there at night because it faster and much better customer service... went to try it out for lunch and it was a different story. It was very bad, our waitress was slow and kept forgetting to get us things for our meal that we had asked for. Ordered coffee, took 15 minutes to receive that. She never asked if I wanted cream or anything.... she was very rude as well on the top of that. When she bought us our food one of the chicken nuggets fell on the servers tray and she picked it up with her bare hands and threw it on the plate, was so unbelievably shocked! But we were so fed up with waiting we decided not to start anymore trouble and just eat our food. When I got my pancakes I asked for syrup and also didn't receive that, so I got up and grabbed it from a different table that was getting cleaned. Never came to check up on us after that.
