DBC remains busy, and it's easy to understand why once you've had their food and experienced their service. The biscuits are perfect, great flavor, really good size, and I appreciate how they don't completely fall apart in sandwich form. Granted, you'll want to eat it with a knife and fork if it's covered in gravy, but the thing holds. Also, so many great menu items. Sure, I've ruined my diet, but who doesn't want sweet and savory and meaty and gooey all on one plate. My heart health will be fine... And then the second part of any great restaurant is the service. DBC has done really well at keeping up with COVID restrictions and safety measures, and their service seems to only have gotten better with everyone being very responsive, understanding, and patient. What a fabulous place!! It had a very unique menu, with lots of different options that all sound so yummy. We settled for trying three different things and sharing it. So glad we did! We got the one that had maple syrup and while it was delicious I couldn't imagine eating the whole thing because it is very rich, but definitely a must try as well! Super disappointed with the staff at this location. Saturday night I called to ask if they were taking reservations for the next day, Sunday. The staff member advised they are first come, first serve and do not take reservations in advance. Sunday morning comes and our party of 5 walks in asking to put our names on the list. Originally we were told the wait was an hour to 1 hour and 15 minutes. Fair for a Sunday morning brunch spot. An hour and 30 min later we asked where we are in the cue...and they said another 40 minutes. This is where we started to get upset. The staff failed to advise us there IS an ONLINE RESERVATION CUE. The lack of communication we received was incredibly disappointing, and it was clear they were seating smaller groups for a faster turn over. Understood COVID has shaken up some businesses but it was REALLY annoying the way they handled this. 1. They need to get their staff in line and on the same page about their seating. I.e. When I called in advance Saturday night asking about reservations, the staff member should have advised me there is online reservation cue. That way, OFF THE BAT my group and I could have avoided waiting 2 HOURS at the restaurant for brunch!!! 2. PUT UP A SIGN!!! There is NO signage about online reservation cue at the store front. 3. WHERE IS THE ONLINE RESERVATION CUE?!!??!!???!?! I cannot seem to find it on their website??????? Anyways, when we finally got to sit and eat, the service and food was good. A friend recommended this place, and I guess I should have checked the menu first. LOL, didn't think they'd literally just have biscuit dishes. With a dairy allergy, that didn't work in my favor. We went here for breakfast on a Friday morning and it was still pretty busy. We ordered The Lola and The Franklin. The waiter asked if I wanted to sub the regular biscuit for s French toast biscuit for The Lola for an additional $2 and when I said no, he and my friend both seemed surprised and informed me that maple syrup over a biscuit is really weird. To me, it doesn't make any sense to have an item on the menu that "isn't normal." If the staff are trying to get people to change it, that should be the menu item but quite frankly I'm not about to pay $17 for a biscuit. I have been here many times visiting Denver and this is a mandatory stop every time. I ordered a Bloody Mary with bacon and started with the biscuit cinnamon roll. THIS IS A MUST TRY. Literally one of the best cinnamon rolls I have ever tried, ever!! They make this cinnamon roll in house with a homemade icing. Apparently these sell out quick because they only had a few left. For my main meal I ordered the cordon blue biscuit sandwich with an egg added. Anything you order here is incredible but this was by far the best sandwich I've tried from here. Visiting from Las Vegas, this was on the Denver must eat list. It wasn't bad but also wasn't somewhere I would tell my close friends and family they have to experience. I had the Franklin and hubby had the Dahlia. The biscuit itself was very good but the other ingredients were just average. Pricing was on par for what you get. Service was also mediocre. The food comes quick but the server forgot my soda and I didn't bother asking again. At the end the server brought the wrong check so more waiting for that to get fixed. Overall if you love biscuits, give it a try but if not you can def skip. read more

DBC is a must-hit every time I am in Denver. Their bar menu is fun and tasty, their food is served in giant portions (and it's delicious because flavor is more important to me portion), and their service is usually pretty solid. Highly recommend checking this place out. Always love the basic breakfast with the giant biscuit. The biscuits and gravy are delicious. And this time, for the first time, I tried the cheeseburger. I was honestly blown away. A simple classic cheeseburger that hit all the right notes in all the right proportions.. this may be the only thing I order here moving forward.. time will tell. With so many choices I just opted in getting the old school classic Bisquits n Gravy (sausage gravy since there's a vegan mushroom gravy option). 2 big biscuits on the order smothered with gravy. Simple classic diner comfort food. Biscuits were pretty good, light crisp edges fluffy inside but a bit heavy for me, yes I know how biscuits are. Having been up at 3am and only having a cup of coffee and a donut...being its 1pm I was starving, this filled me up instantly and no didn't get a pic of it as I was starving lol. Bottom Line: Very overrated, probably my least favorite restaurant while visiting Denver for the first time. Extremely slow service. Would not recommend for tourists. Atmosphere: Pretty loud, very social environment. Half of the interior is brick walls, kind of like a pizzeria vibe. Mid-light ambience with natural light. It seems like a big spot for LGBT culture. Classic rock music. Free coffee and boardgames at the front of the restaurant. VERY busy(took an hour for us to get seated in the late morning). Food: The Giant Biscuit Cinnamon Roll is exactly what is sounds like. It is HUGE. Definitely don't order this for just two people. Nice crust with a very fluffy interior, all smothered in very sweet cinnamon sugar. The food was very disappointing for the amount of time we waited. I got the Big-Ass Slice of New York style pizza with roasted onions, mushrooms, jalapeños, basil and spinach. While the slice had a nice flop while maintaining a crispy crust, it was so thin that when I picked it up, my pinky poked a hole in it. There was very little flavor and the toppings looked thrown on after the pizza was cooked rather than baked onto it. I also got the Shrimp & Grits, with the cheesy grits. This actually had pretty good flavor, but I felt like it wasn't as advertised. The menu states that it is a serving of shrimp, grits, and pork belly served in a biscuit bowl. It was actually just a bit of grits on top of a large biscuit in a pool of some kind of sauce/broth. Basically, mainly biscuit with a side of grits. I didn't like this because while I love grits, I don't care for biscuits so I thought this would be a good compromise. The grits seemed overcooked, very mushy, but the shrimp was cooked perfectly. The pork belly was very tough and the flavor really clashed with the rest of the dish. I feel like the dish was better without it. Service: I want to preface this by saying that our waitress was extremely kind and had such a soft, nurturing voice. That being said, the service here is what killed this review. We were initially told that it would be a 30 minute wait, but ended up waiting an hour. I don't believe there is much to blame on the wait staff. As busy as this restaurant was, it seemed very understaffed. It took us ten minutes just to get water after being seated. After we ordered, it took 15 minutes to get the cinnamon roll, 27 minutes to get my slice of pizza, and 33 minutes to get the rest of our order. I didn't like how our waitress put my pizza down with the end of it resting off the plate and on the table. She also completely forgot my brother's side of grits so he never got it, and the cup of ranch that I requested for my pizza came with a hair. Again, I don't blame the server. I believe the main issue was the restaurant being understaffed and the two servers I did see having to juggle the entire restaurant Overall: The food here was very basic, but the amount of time we had to wait to get it was very far from worth it. My brother and I came to Denver for a big concert and I noticed that dozens of people who came from out of town for the same reason fell for the same review trap. I spoke to a few and they agreed that this place was very overrated. I think that it's a good social spot for locals, but not worth it for tourists. I would not come back here. read more

We had to wait about 40 minutes for a table, but we busied ourselves with cocktails and the bottomless serve-yourself cup of coffee. We were seated in a large and very comfy booth. As much as I really (REALLY) wanted to get the giant cinnamon roll (with bacon of course), I had already seen enough pictures of the food here that I knew it would be a mistake - the portions here are huge. I went with my classic biscuits and gravy and added two eggs over easy. It was everything you'd expect. The biscuit was delicious - huge and fluffy - just what you'd expect from a place that's famous for biscuits and has "biscuit" in the name. I would say it was very good but honestly nothing totally mind blowing. Then again, I ordered a pretty basic thing. Our friends liked the Dahlia and my husband got the shrimp and grits. Pro tip: Get a side of gravy. Because really, there can't be enough gravy. Cocktail notes: Bypass the regular mimosa and get the Supermosa. Bloodys are REALLY spicy.
