This is probably the worst plumbing service. The person came in for an evaluation. He did not even fix the problem that we had for the regulator and he charged us $90. Absolutely terrible service and would not recommend doing your plumbing service here. In the end, go to the other plumbing services that have higher reviews than this terrible service. read more

The company was easy to work with. They gave us an appointment as requested and alerted us when there were changes. The team answered questions we had about the job and gave advice based on their expertise. They apologized if things were behind. We were pleased after the job was done. We felt like the staff was still there for us after we paid them. They provided us with proof of documentation quickly. Dependable sent 2 guys out to reroute pipes from a slab leak through my attic. Excellent job..Insurance job all went well. I had them back for some additional services,, clean a line, change a couple of facuetts. This outfit does good work, the guys are good, they never left a mess and you can tell they work for a good company by their attitude and knowlege. Not the cheapest, not the most expensive. Kent is very knowledgeable and professional. Surprised to see so many negative feedbacks for Dependable, but Kent got most of 5 which he deserved. I didn't hire him but happened to have him onsite for help. He showed his expertise. Went with these guys becaue the were the only ones the property management company used and I wanted the person familar with the area condos. Laurie in the office is very nice and seemed sympathetic. The plumber that came out knew what he was doing, but was late. I was told to be at home between 1pm-5pm. The plumber didn't get there until almost 530pm, but I was thankful that he showed at all and didn't reschedule. After looking for a leak that didn't exist in my home due to the submeter company being too lazy to send a technician with first having a plumber look over the condo, he charged me $79 for 15 minutes of looking at my water useage with the water all off and while it was running. The plumber was really nice and knowledgable. I wish he wouldn't have charged since I had to miss work and he didn't show on time, but I am satisfied. He was nice enough to write down his findings and noted that the meter company bill reading didn't match the actual meter read. Now if I can just get my money back from the submeter company for requiring me to get him to come out to begin with. I will say that they are using only paper to take your credit card info, unlike of businesses that have a machine to swipe your card through. Thank you guys... read more

I called Dependable plumbing to correct a leaking gas valve in the laundry room of my rental condo. The work was satisfactory but the price was excessive. I was told that the work had to be inspected and approved by the City Of San Diego. Dependable said they have to arrange the inspection, collect the fee from me and remit to the City. They charged me $516 as the Cities portion. Come to find out the City charges $177. Talked to the General Manager at Dependable and all he could say was did I sign the work order. I said yes but was not told the truth. got nowhere. Never again will I use Dependable and my Homeowners association is also dropping them. read more

Two months after calling about a leaking bathtub, it still has not been fixed. The plumber took the faucet handle with him to find a new piece, then when he was scheduled to come back a week later, didn't show up. When I called to check, I was told that the piece hadn't come in yet. Two weeks later, I still hadn't heard anything, so I called again, and was told the piece was due to arrive in a few days. A week later, I called again to check, and was told that they still couldn't find the piece but wanted to replace it with a different one. Meanwhile, the leaking faucet is still wasting water and increasing the bill day by day. This company has been a hassle to deal with and is anything but dependable. read more

I had a leak coming from my bathtub that was damaging the unit below mine (condos). The folks from Dependable Plumbing did an excellent job in getting the water turned off (we have to do it for the whole building). There are a number of things that this involves, like turning off the hot water heater for the whole building and draining things. Then you have to get it all back on again. The first call was after hours, but needed to be done to avert damage to the unit below. They arrived promptly and did the job. The rest had to be done after I had replaced the old leaky tub with a new one. Again, they arrived on time and did the work quickly and professionally. Personally, I would never touch the plumbing in a condo (too many other units involved!) As Dave says: Cheap work is not good and good work is not cheap. It was expensive, but not exorbitant. That and someone else then has the liability for the repairs. AND they came back a few days later after I laid the tile to put the tub spout on. Good job guys. read more

Don't use. They showed up without a phone call and said the service call would be $88. For a pin hole leak they charged $460 to fix which took them 15 minutes to repair. They way overcharged!! Save your $$ read more

We get our backflow test by Dependable Plumbing. They are very accommodating and get it done right away. The customer service is wonderful.

They're the HOA Assn plumbing company. A guy was sent to investigate the leak since the unit below my place developed water spots and suspected that the leak came from my unit. So this plumber came and investigated and didn't find any leak and told me the water is getting into the place below because my caulking on the shower head and faucet are gone. I wasn't fully satisfied and told him to cut the ceiling since the water is much more than just what is seeping in if it came from then missing caulking. So he cut an opening to peek and still unable to determine where the leak is coming from. So now he filled the bathtub from my unit and started splashing on the overflow which made him decide it is the problem. I wasn't happy with the finding and took the liberty of hiring another plumber CASTILLO Works Plumbing. Dependable plumbing is not really that dependable at their job in my opinion. I'm not even sure if they're certified or licensed at all. By the way Jose from Castillo plumbing did an excellent job, he was ahead of his time schedule and went to worked right away and pinpointed the root of the leak. read more

Lied and charged me $400 more than another plumber.

The tenant in our San Diego rental called us with a kitchen sink drainage problem. I left a message on a Sunday afternoon and followed up with a call on Monday at 8:00 am. The office staff were fantastic and immediately scheduled a 1:00 pm - 5:00 pm window for repair. I explained that I was returning home to San Francisco and needed the appointment to be as close to 1:00 pm as possible. The office staff called at 12:45 pm, James, my technician, arrived at 1:00 pm and through pure perseverance and care the problem was resolved. I appreciated that James was willing to stick with me as we resolved a multi-step repair that affected many condo units besides my own. I would whole heartedly recommend Dependable Plumbing. Be careful when calling this company. My neighbor had a water leak coming from my unit not knowing at the time this leak was coming from my unit. So we had dependable plumbing come out twice before figuring out where the leak was coming from. The plumber was not experienced at all. I had both a leak and a clog in condo kitchen sink a few weeks ago. Dependable is the HOA contracted plumbing company, and I had an overall positive result three years ago when I needed them to install a new bathroom sink. I gave up trying to remedy my recent kitchen sink problem myself which was a good idea. I needed a professional. A good word to describe the office staff used in another post was accurate. They were very sympathetic. The tech, Jim, was very patient with all my questions and also determined to get to the source of the problem. He tirelessly performed a lot of trouble-shooting and investigating. The problem seems fixed now, and I am grateful for that. In the past I have been taken advantage of by contractors and other plumbers who were not this dedicated nor took pride in their work .
