I appreciated his approach and returned later to purchase a specific vehicle after we had already discussed pricing via text. Up to that point, the experience was positive. When discussing the down payment, I asked about using a credit card (primarily for rewards points). I was told that wasn't an option, which was disappointing but not a dealbreaker. However, when my husband asked a finance team member who happened to walk by--Gianni Richards, the finance manager--if there was any flexibility, the response was unnecessarily rude and condescending. He stated it was "borderline illegal" to use a credit card for a down payment. Later, after checking with several other dealerships, I learned this is actually a common practice, so a more straightforward explanation (such as credit card fees) would have been appreciated. The most concerning part of the visit occurred during the finance discussion with Alec Torres, the Sales Manager. He reviewed the standard Kia warranties and then strongly pushed an extended warranty priced at $4,300, stating that Kia vehicles would "absolutely need work" and implying that Kia frequently avoids honoring their own warranties. This messaging was unsettling and raised serious questions about the product itself. When I asked to call a friend with auto sales experience for clarification, I did so on speaker. When asked to provide concrete examples of what Kia would not cover under their warranty, Alec said water in the radio. My friend mentioned this was probably not common and asked for another example Alec struggled to give clear or consistent explanations. Ultimately, we declined the extended warranty. After leaving us waiting for some time, he returned and immediately dropped the warranty price to $2,200--nearly half of the original amount. That drastic reduction was concerning and made the entire process feel more like a negotiation tactic than a transparent conversation. At that point, we decided to leave. I felt bad for our salesperson, who was professional and pleasant throughout, but the overall experience with management left us uncomfortable. The following day, I received a follow-up email asking about my visit, which is when I realized the primary issues stemmed from the Sales Manager himself. Based on this experience, I would not recommend this dealership. I had done the majority of my negotiating via text and phone since I would be traveling 200 miles to pick the car up. I wanted make sure everything was in place so I could come in sign the paperwork and get back on the road. The moment I walked into Dick Hanna Kia, I felt at ease. The team of guys I worked with were absolutely great. Being a female you hear horror stories about having to deal with high pressure salesmen, that was Not my experience at all. These guys were honest, gave me the facts, answered all of my questions and did everything they could to help get me out of a bad purchase I had made from Dick Hanna Honda that I had made in November. I appreciated the straightforward pricing. There were no hidden fees. I was given the option to purchase other add ons such as extended warranty, etc. I was not coerced and told I could not get the car for the specified price unless I purchased all of the ad ons, like I had been pressured to do when negotiating with other dealerships. It made the buying process much less stressful a pleasant buying experience. I would like to say Thank you again to Tyler Clunas. He was amazing! He was super friendly, easy to communicate with, very helpful in answering all of my questions as they arose that day. TLDR: I regret buying a KIA and would not recommend buying one to anyone, and would not recommend this service department. I bought my first brand new car from this location - a 2022 Kia Forte. Back in June my AC stopped working. I brought it in late June to get diagnosed with a different service advisor than usual (Hannah) and the experience was an absolute nightmare. I dropped off my car first thing in the morning with her, said please contact me with an update as soon as you have one and under no circumstances do any work on my car that is not covered fully under warranty without my consent first which is common sense but I said it just in case. I got a yes of course. I still hadn't gotten any updates by 2-3 pm and started getting concerned so I called every 30-60 minutes trying to get a hold of someone for hours. I kept getting routed to someone affiliated with Dick Hannah Kia but not in the service department and kept getting told I was going to get contacted back on high priority with no one contacting me back. One or two of my attempts the person I spoke with tried every single persons phone in the service department multiple times and could not reach anyone. I wasted over an hour on hold over multiple attempts and never got called back by anyone that day. I eventually sent a text to Hannah saying I need an update and how it's unacceptable that it's impossible to reach anyone and I got unprofessionally texted back with poor punctuation and run on sentences much later saying - oh yeah we did the evac and recharge and found nothing wrong with it and no leaks come and pick it up. I specifically said DO NOT do this work without my consent if it wasn't covered and they did it anyway. Eventually they waived the fees except $100 for diagnosis because wtf (a diagnosis in which they found nothing, just refilled my Freon). Thank god they didn't charge me for the work I didn't consent to because less than a month later my AC stops working again. I bring it back in, now they redo the diagnostic and say a rock hit my condenser so it is not covered under warranty because it's an "outside influence". They recommend I get it covered through my insurance so I take it home with that intention but find out that would have raised my insurance premiums because it would be logged as an at fault accident. I get a second option at a reputable mechanic who lets me know - "hey I'm pretty sure this dealership is lying to you. We can see a ding on the condenser but could not recreate the leak and we do this all the time. They are probably blaming it on outside influence because they don't want to cover it, and this is their best guess as to what it is but they dont actually know and they didn't do any further investigation. We believe it is the evaporator coil which would not have been hit by outside influences and should be covered under a warranty but it's hard to get to and I'm sure your dealership didn't want to do the proper diagnosis to have it potentially be covered. I recommend going to Kia Corporate and still trying to get it covered under warranty because if we do the recommended work on the condenser I believe we are just taking your money for nothing to be fixed and you'll be back to square one". A friend with a Kia reminded me since I have a brand new Kia there's an anti perforation warranty. If Dick Hannah Kia claimed it was a rock causing a hole, aka a perforation, causing this condenser leak -- you'd think that should be covered right? I called Kia Corporate and many reps weren't sure what that warranty covered but agreed a hole is a perforation and that of course it should be covered and let's go back forth with the dealership to get this covered. In the end I spoke with a supervisor of corporate who said that warranty is only for "natural holes" -- like what are you talking about - and that I can now escalate my request to the regional manager of Kia to get this covered through goodwill since my car is so new and I expected my warranty to be worth something. 2-3 calls a week and same thing from the regional manager as of today - sorry that rocks exists in the world ma'am and that we build our cars so poorly that the condenser is right behind the grill, we will not help you. THIS DEALERSHIP LIES AND KIA CORPORATE DOES NOT CARE. REGIONAL DOES NOT CARE. You think getting a brand new car gives you a warranty that will help you when you need it but instead you get an expensive worthless trash vehicle that's a pain to deal with and a worthless warranty to match your worthless car. I am selling this car and will tell everyone for the rest of my life to never buy a Kia and never trust a Dick Hannah dealership. And then they didn't even clean any parts that were removed to be fixed. On top of that the was covered in dust upon pickup and inside. Experience at Dick Hannah Kia on March 24th Unfortunately I can't recommend this dealership to anyone. Both stars in this review are for our salesman David. He was upfront throughout the process and in the end I could see he was doing what he was told to do by the manager, Robert. We were shopping for a specific EV9 they had on their lot. It was a long afternoon of negotiating mostly because we were looking for a good trade-in value for our 2021 Telluride. The first offer on the trade-in was $30k. I get it, and I know the car buying process is one of negotiation. I also know that the value of our car is about $39k. I told them that was obviously too low and went to lunch. A few hours later the trade-in value came up to $35k, so I had decided I would just sell the Telluride on our own and then shop for an EV9 after that. That's when this text thread starts that I've included the picture of. We are still negotiating here. Robert makes an offer, I make an offer back, Robert accepts. (Side note, if Robert had texted back that they can't do what I am asking, I would have said ok, I'll take your last offer and I'll see you soon to sign. That's how negotiating usually works). Alright! I'm heading over with the Telluride. I make sure to grab all the accessories for the new owner-to-be and head to Dick Hannah Kia. When I get there I can tell that David is a little more reserved and nervous. Well I don't see that at the time, but looking back I can see that there was a change in his demeanor. We sit down at the desk and he slides the offer sheet to me to sign and I see $36k for the trade-in and then I see the all-weather mats and the tow hitch as line items for $350 and $1650 respectively. I tell David sorry I just had a text conversation with Robert and he said the mats and hitch would be included. David looks at the sheet and says yeah, they are included right there. We go back and forth once more until I finally realize what is happening. Robert got me there under false pretenses. Instead of telling me via text that they aren't able to do what I'm asking for, he lied and said they could do it. They put me in the position he put me in with David. Not fair to me, not fair to David. Jerk move. I left, fuming, and could barely think about that experience without emotion until now, which is why I'm now writing this review. Two days later I bought an EV9 from Beaverton Kia. They gave me $36.5k for the trade-in on their first offer. They also said they could not include all-weather mats or tow hitch. I bought the mats at their parts shop. From the looks of Dick Hannah's Google rating this isn't likely to slow their business or make a dent in their Believe in Nice rhetoric. But a week into owning the car I didn't notice a rear tire leak. I happen to put a hole in the tire myself. Went for a repair, locally. They informed me that there was already a hole in the tire. The leaking of air didn't stop. The local shop, said its from the prior repair. Contacted the dealer, and they are trying to just sell me new tires and do nothing to repair/rectify the issue. I drove over an hour away to make this purchase, and now I cant even get to the dealer for a repair or for them to look at it. Seeing that their word is there was no work done on the car, I cant even get the proof they are telling the truth. I get I got a hole, but to have a used tire on my brand new car!!! If you make an appointment don't you think you should get in at that time or close to it. there was no reply to the texts that they told her to communicate through. Their website has the option of express store which it claims you can buy a car online and have it delivered to you with completed paperwork, which I tried to use. I picked out a car with price, down-payment, loan length, interest and monthly payment all set up. I then filled out the personal info and credit application and uploaded copies my my license and insurance and all was properly submitted online. Next I was supposed to receive a deal sheet to approve but it never came. I called the dealership to check on the status but the person who answered had no knowledge of express shop so I was transferred to another person who said he was new and had never done an express shop. I explained what it was, he found my application and we went over the terms and what options were available. He said the paperwork would be prepared for signatures. I asked about home delivery but he knew nothing about it so we made an appointment to come in to sign and he said the paperwork would be ready, When we got to the appointment the paperwork wasn't prepared and we were told it didn't work that way so we had to sit through the whole "do you want this, are you sure" process and then wait for the paperwork to be prepared, which is what we were trying to avoid. I had the worst experience with Dick Hannah KIA yesterday, November 8, 2023. I have been an avid fan of KIA for many years. Dick Hannah's customer service was superb and that's why I bought 2 of my cars from them. I am currently driving 2023 PHEV KIA SORENTO and my wife has the 2022 KIA EV NIRO, both came from the same dealership--Dick Hannah KIA Vancouver WA. Today has changed everything! As the prices of EVs are falling due to over stocking and many manufacturers are offering incentives like rebates and/or $7500 tax credit, my curiosity made me inquire about my wife's favorite EV from KIA.. the EV6. I chatted with one of the online reps and was transferred to Anna Karakotova, she was nice enough to tell me all about EV6 and the incentives. We went back and forth with the price and to cut the story short, I agreed to what was presented to me after giving her and her manager the information they needed so I can have an accurate quote before heading down there. I left my clinic and drove to the dealership thinking all I needed to do is to sign the paperwork, that's when I found out it was misleading. Remember, I did what was asked of me so I do not have to go back and forth with how much I need to pay for leasing the car. When I got to the dealership I tested the car while Anna, my rep is preparing the documents. She told me that my trade in is under 10k and now I have to pay $300 plus more than what was originally quoted. I was furious because I felt misled. I asked to speak to the manager, ZEKE HOLPUCH (Sales Manager) who had a snarky comment, saying "Why is he asking to speak to me? I wasted all day preparing a quote for him" as he was approaching me. This manager was rude and very unprofessional. I was shocked and told him I did not appreciate his attitude.. and all he could say was "well you should have known your trade in value?" Really now, that is not my job and I was never informed to do my own research. I gave them everything I was asked of: the VIN number, mileage and even the KIA Finance account numbers. If they would have told me about the car being $10k under value on the phone it could have saved everyone's time, however they didn't. I couldn't believe how I was treated by one of the best dealerships I have ever had especially after spending most of MY day with them on this quote as well. I left so disappointed and told them that I will never go back to their dealership and do business with them. I will make sure my family and friends will know this experience--this is just not how you do business, misleading and rude comments from the manager is unacceptable. Absolutely the WORSE dealership I've ever dealt with and I'll be taking my issues with them as high up as I can, because it's completely unacceptable. I went to buy a 2023 Kia Soul from them, filled out as much as I could only to minimize the amount of time it would take to complete, and also my old car was stolen and wrecked, so I'd have to Uber to the dealership, and only wanted to do it once. Well, when I arrived (via a $50 Uber cause I live in Portland), I found out that they HAD NOT fully run the application as I had wanted. So then I was told that the car I wanted would need an additional deposit, which I wasn't prepared for at the time. I started to get upset at this point, as this was the kind of situation I wanted to avoid by pre-qualifying and sending them my info before I even walked in the door. Curt, the salesman I worked with, and the invisible-always-in-the-back sales manager, offered a certified pre-owned 2022 Kia Forte they could do. I really didn't want to, but at that point, I was trapped in Vancouver and was staring down the barrel of having to do incredibly expensive rideshares to make it to work currently. So I agreed, and I left 4 hours later with a Kia Forte. And that's where the REAL trouble started. A few days later I get a call telling me they need another paystub cause the previous one wouldn't be accepted by the lender. The same paystub I had sent them a week and a half earlier when I started my car-buying adventure. I told them it would be just short of a week till I had a new one. Yet, that message didn't seem to be shared, because I then got a call the next day from a sales manager that very rudely, insisted that they knew when I got paid, and I should have another paystub already. I then had to literally correct the guy on the phone about my own pay schedule, which is silly in itself. This back-and-forth goes on all the way until my next pay stub is available. I send it to them, thinking it's all good. NOPE. I get a call a few days later telling me the lender rejected the paystub because "I'm part-time". Now, as you all know, it's 2023, and corporations will make anyone not salaried, part-time. Everyone that works a regular job knows this issue. I work full-time hours, and my paystub clearly showed that. But to the "lender", as they kept insisting, this wasn't good enough, and I'd now need to return the car to them immediately. Mind you, it's now been almost two weeks since I drove off the lot with my Forte. I asked them if there was any way to fix this situation like a letter from my employer, but nope, that wouldn't be good enough. They wanted to take car back now. The deal fell through, and the friendliness of Dick Hannah Kia was over. I wanted to set it up on my day off since I'd have to drive up to Vancouver and Uber back, something you can't really do on the day you work. But did Dick Hannah Kia care? Nope! Instead, they called me repeatedly, within an hour of each other, while I was at work (I told them clearly my work hours, but they ignored it) and would be mad that I didn't pick up. Then, they threatened to report the car stolen! Mind you, I never told them "No I'm not bringing the car back", all I said was "Ok, but can we do this on X day because I'm off work." Which I think is very responsible, but apparently, they didn't. I told them, on my lunch break, that if they needed the car back ASAP and couldn't wait for my next day off then they could come to get it that evening after I got off work. But Dick Hannah Kia, full of empathy, started calling and texting me again, this time in all caps. This time is that they had already sent a crew to my house to get the car and wanted to know where I was... I was at work...the place I had been that whole day. Master class on absolutely horrendous customer service. If you want to feel not listened to, talked down to, condescending conversations, combative, defensive attitude and accused of being dishonest without saying it outright from customer service rep, please go here. Never have I felt beaten down from a place of business other than this place. Hey, I come to you with my business!! Appreciate it! The rep has been here a long time and they are all buddies in this place so they all protect each other if the customer starts question the work OR LACK THEREOF. The laziness of trying to find an issue is so apparent they even wrote down how lazy and uncaring they were. They gave us our vehicle back in a state worse than when we dropped it off! The entire service department bailed out 5 minutes to 6 and we couldn't find anyone to tell the vehicle wasn't right so we went to new car sales and they helped us! Even the new car sales manager looked at our paperwork and couldn't believe what service did and wrote dow on our paperwork. He said he'd deal with it the next day. Nice guy. Remember, the service department can and will drive a future sale depending on quality of service! When we asked the service girl why they'd give us our vehicle back in a state like this she became combative and just made excuse after excuse instead of apologizing. I'm sure after we left they all had a good laugh at our expense and called us idiots. Again, we customers come to you and give you business. There are other dealership service departments in the local area that I may have to drive an extra 30 minutes to. It makes me sick to my stomach how badly we were treated by this rep and her buddies at Dick Hannah Kia "service". Nice job. read more
