They used a trusted Sales Associate to lie to me about $3,000 worth of fees. Made me think it was unavoidable and mandatory interest. They will only tell the truth up to suckering you in. Misdirections, bait-and-switch, lying about fees and promising things they take back later... you name it. They are no different then they ever were; do not even shop at their Subaru. They use Subaru's marketing to their advantage and violate their policies. Drive out to the Subaru's in Oregon do NOT do business if it's a Dick Hannah dealership. My parents last year worked with a sales associate for 2 hours at Subaru and were considering buying, but a Sales Manager who took over tried rushing them and insulted when they wouldn't sign fast enough. My mother told him to stop 4 times and she's never confrontational. It just made him snarky: "There's some cheap Subaru's out back...". My dad wont even do business with Dick Hannah Volkswagon anymore. They've failed to get me my plates after 30 days, they've lied to me about figures on my contract, they cover figures with their hands while pointing around the contract... it's really stupid. The sales manager Khamal or whatever will do everything to try and counter you reviews and get them removed if he can; including making up lies and slandering you as he did me on BBB's website. I wouldn't even trust the 5 star reviews they're probably just sock accounts. If you really want to give these guys a try go for it. lol Don't believe a God damn word they tell you. You better look that contract over every time it goes back and forth between that sales counter. DO NOT believe the Sales Associate they will misdirect you like they did to me in 2016 and in March of 2018. Even if you're giving them a deal more in their favor like I did, they will still try to deceive money out of you like they did me. Lying is no problem to them. In 2016 I was coerced into giving them perfect Survey scores too for the dealership and the Sales Personnel. I gave them 2 chances, 2016 and 2018 and they screwed me twice. I reached out to Marissa Farnsworth on Friday with inquiries about a Toyota Tacoma. Because of COVID and the appointment only standard She and her associate Danielle were able to set my appointment set up for Thursday (5/7) @ 1:00 PM. In that conversation I let her know I'll be driving from Seattle to this appointment. It's a 2.5 hour drive. On Wednesday I noticed they increased the price $1000 online. I reached out via chat to see if they would honor the original price as it's been on their lot for 57 days already as I will be driving 2.5 hours each way the next day. Michael Escalona got back to me and said he checked with his Director, Christopher McNamara and they said they would honor that original price. As I'm driving down 2.5 hours with my wife who is also an essential worker I asked who will I be working with on Thursday. He said I won't be working with anyone specifically though i can ask for either one of our sales managers, Kenny, Curtis or Erik. So after all this after I drive 2.5 hours down there for my 1pm appointment they tell me they sold the truck yesterday but they have trucks that cost $10,000+ more available. A disconnect in communication or Bait and switch either way this was a waste of 6 hours. Dick Hannah dealership sucks at what they do. You want to make it right? Overall I am happy with the team at Dick Hannah Subaru in Vancouver. My husband and I each got a car with JR. He was enthusiastic and there every step of the way for us; definitely the best car salesman we've ever encountered. The only negative about the experience is the "regional fee" added onto each new vehicle. That's nothing JR could have changed but the dealership should be a bit more forgiving on that amount. We were told every dealership is doing it but after the fact most reviews for other dealerships are stating otherwise. I wanted the car I got (2022 Outback) and am happy with it, just wish it didn't have the added amount on top of MSRP. If you are looking for a fun salesperson for a super easygoing car buying experience, ask for JR! He made sure we had snacks and water and also made sure our son was entertained while we did some of the paperwork. Wanted to think it over... and came back another day. Peter was busy with another customer so Ather took over. Ather was kind enough to take us on yet another test drive, answered some more questions, and then we got to dealing. Although he was a tough negotiator, I felt like I walked away with a good deal and am happy. These guys are incredible, especially Andrew Fabian! I can't say enough good things about the service team here. They've been servicing my Outback since 2012. It's the first time I've ever felt like I could trust someone working on my car and believe any issues they found that needed to be addressed (there have hardly ever been any outside of minor things like a burnt out tail light). I like and trust these guys so much that I still take my car to them for major service repairs, even though I'm now back in Seattle. Wow, what a fantastic start and horrible finish to a car buying process. I was connected to Fleet/Internet Sales through the Costco program and chatted with Frank. The pricing was incredible and no one else could match it so I moved forward. Frank was pretty responsive via email and we custom ordered the vehicle I wanted. Delivery was great (despite the car missing it's roof rack, which wasn't his fault, but should have been checked before I arrived to pick it up.) Signed, drove off... easy peasy.... Then the mess began... a few days later he emailed me he had messed up the paperwork and if I actually wanted the 12K/year lease I had requested throughout the entire process and that was on the paperwork I signed upon delivery I would need to come back to Vancouver, initial and sign, and pay an additional $420 over the course of the lease. I explained to him I am not driving from Portland back to Vancouver to fix your error and pay you more money, nor do I feel I should pay the extra as that was his error. I requested he send a courier over for the signature (to fix the error even without me paying extra) and he did. Next, he said to just send in the $30 receipt for having to buy another trip permit as it takes a while to get plates. I emailed that to him and his reply was a tracking # for plates that were being overnighted to arrive the day after the original trip permit expired. No response to the $30 being reimbursed. The plates arrived and were wrong. I ordered and paid for Cultural Trust plates but Frank ordered and I received basic Oregon plates. He said, "oh, just go to the DMV (now trip #2 to the DMV) and swap them out." It doesn't work like that. The DMV DESTROYS the originals, I had to fill out a new application, pay $64 (not the $30 frank mentioned), and get the new plates. I emailed Frank with the new receipt for $64 to get reimbursed for that due to his error and also see where the original $30 check was that was supposedly sent for the new plates. He said a $50 check was sent weeks ago. He had to research and discovered it was sent to the lender and cashed by them. It was applied to my lease so perfect. $50 of the $94 has been paid. He said another check is going out for the $30 to my address. $50 + $30 = $80, not $94. It's only $14, but WTH? I received my vehicle on 11/21. It is now 1/5 and I am still dealing with this. Update - the misinformation continues. Frank told me when I picked up the car I would be getting a check for the $350 disposition fee. I was surprised, but as this is the first time I've traded in a lease to get another one I didn't know what that fee was about. When I emailed him to check on the status of that check he said to call the bank. "They handle that." I called them and contrary to what Frank told me it is NOT a check I get back, but a fee I don't have to pay because I leased another Subaru. Therefore, a good deal again soured by misinformation. This is all quite unfortunate because as an insurance agent and someone well-connected in the community I was excited to have someone to refer clients and friends to that I could trust, but unless Frank/Dick Hannah does something miraculous to fix this my referrals will have to go somewhere else. :-/ read more

We called about a car listed on Autotrader 4 times and we were told it didn't have a sunroof then they couldn't find it, etc. Meanwhile they keep lowering the price online even though they're telling people they can't locate it. They finally posted pictures and it did have a sunroof so I called and spoke with Kenny the sales manager and he set up an appt for us to come in. We drove an hour to see it and low and behold it's a totally different color than what is listed. The sales person (Ather) was very nice, but overall this dealership is full of incompetent people. The car is bronze/gold not gray. It was hard to tell in pics. So we wasted over 2 hours of our day for nothing. read more

DISHONEST place. I brought my car in for a scheduled 8am recall airbag repair. Was told it would take until 2 or 3 PM Ookaaaay.. Then they call me at 9 saying they did a 120 point inspection and found I need this that and the other things done. The appointment was for the recall. I dont need a 120 point inspection. That's what I call the maintenance SHAM!! THIS IS THE SHAM OF THIS PLACE. PEOPLE BEWARE!!! I said no thank you to there list of items. SURPRISE my car was done at 11am! REALLY! WOW funny how quickly that recall got done when nothing else was "added". I picked up my car and not only had the whole center console " between the seats" been removed. It was haphazardly put back together. WHY would an airbag that is in the steering wheel and front passenger side of the dash require the whole gear shift parking break and storage compartment that sits between the seats be removed. When the guy brought my car around it was making a loud winding sound. That was not there when I dropped it off. I DO NOT TRUST this place. I am having my mechanic look into what happened to my car. This is how dealerships make money folks. Its UP Selling you on "maintenance". My advice is get yourself an independent trustworthy mechanic and always get second opinions on anything they say "needs" to be done. read more

I had visited a spooky mechanic in Vancouver that had managed to destroy my CVT transmission. It blew up on the freeway. On a narrow bridge no-less. 2 hours later, on that cold brisk night... I had my damaged car towed to Dick Hannah Subaru. They were wonderful to work with. Quick to communicate with me about the work being done and got the new CVT transmission in record time. He tried offering me $6500 for my 2014 Mercedes C300 and was pointing out things like not having an owners manual and a needing a second key fob which is $500. First of all a key fob is $250 called Mercedes of Wilsonville after this visit and got that exact quote and secondly KBB price minimum of 14K trade in value. I came in a few days later and worked with Apple Dysiatco and she was really great, taking me on multiple test drives of a couple different models & was super easy to work with throughout the buying process! After talking about it for more than 5 years and looking pretty regularly since the summer, I finally bought a new car -- well, a certified pre-owned used car that's new to me. The first person I worked with over the summer was Chris K. He's cheerful and full of energy. My spouse and I spent quite a while looking over different cars. He even took us to the Honda dealership and together we test drove a CR-V so that I could compare cars. After that, we decided on the Subaru Outback. I looked at different models online for the entire fall and now with a baby on the way, I knew it was time to go for it and purchase the Outback I had been dreaming of for all that time. I went to the dealership again on Sunday and test drove one I had found online that met all of my criteria. Bassam A. helped me with that process. He's gentle and quiet-mannered and the opposite what you'd expect from a car salesman. Buying a car is a really big deal, especially when you've been thinking about it for years. I looked up information on KBB and was prepared to make an offer but it was rejected for being too low. Negative stars to their manager Curtis who was condescending and rude. I'm not sure if he was just trying to play "bad cop" or what, but I really didn't appreciate his dismissive attitude towards me. Positive bonus points to Rod, who wasn't really my main point of contact, but who had a good attitude and sense of humor. In the end, I think I got an ok deal on my car. I'm honestly not sure if I got screwed in my negotiation process since they did not budge more than $500 on the sticker price. I did appreciate Bassam's patience and willingness to work with me. LONG BUT PLEASE READ!!!!!! I would NOT recommend this place. I bought my 2021 Crosstrek sport from them only 4 months ago and I decided recently that the Crosstrek wasn't for me and instead I wanted to purchase a WRX. Went there to test drive one as I've never driven one before and if I liked it i wanted to trade my vehicle in for the WRX. Jack greeted me and I expressed my interest in the car. Instantly he was hostile. I walked up to the car to check it out and he would not get the keys to even let me see the inside or sit in it. He said we would have to talk numbers and do a credit report BEFORE I even sat in it. This is when I became frustrated. He expressed that people tend to hot rod those specific cars and they didn't want to rack miles up on the car unless they had a potential buyer. I understand that fully, but I let him know that I was already a customer as I had bought my Crosstrek recently and the fact that the cars were of equal value should of been enough to AT LEAST let me sit in it! Nope, instead we went inside and he made me fill out all this BS paperwork to do a credit report. I told him that he was not to run my credit because I didn't even know if I liked the car yet. He said he just wanted the information to get an estimate. During this time they took my keys and they were doing an appraisal on my 2021 Crosstrek. I sat there for over an hour, filled out the stupid paperwork, while the whole time he was making assumptions that I wouldn't be able to afford the WRX (remind you equal value to the Crosstrek.) after sitting there and getting really pissed off at this point, they gave me the most BS offer. They offered me 18k for my Crosstrek I had only bought 4 months ago for 28k. Okay it gets worse. The WRX msrp was 30k and they had it marked up to 37k!!!! Wtf I get there is a car shortage but 7k? But then they put in the offer paperwork that they would give me a discount and I would only pay 34k. They must be smoking crack. I then told him I wanted my keys and I was going to leave. He would not get my keys!! He just kept trying to talk. That is when I demanded my keys and they threw them at me! I left and went to wilsonville Subaru instead where I was treated so well and they actually let me test drive the WRX, no questions asked, no obligations! They actually pulled it off the showroom floor just to let me test drive it. I ended up buying the WRX from wilsonville Subaru that day because they gave me a fair price (25k compared to 18k offer for my Crosstrek) and didn't mark up the price of the WRX by 7k. I told them what happened at the Vancouver location and they were appalled by the way I was treated. For one, jack lied and said there is a regional markup on the WRX hmm.. is that why I paid less than msrp over at the Wilsonville location? Wilsonville Subaru's GM actually came up to me and shook my hand and apologized for Vancouver's actions. I recently went back to Vancouver location to speak with their GM or get his number and they said they couldn't give me that information that I was not able to contact him! I can't believe this place. They are shady crooked scammers. They probably take advantage of vulnerable people who don't know much about cars daily. All I can say is, I would not return here. If you want to buy a Subaru and be treated well, I can highly recommend Wilsonville Subaru as they treated me with respect. read more

I recently leased a 2nd Subaru Outback from Dick Hannah. After driving the car for a couple weeks, we noticed a weaving back and forth at highway speeds. Enough to make our dogs sick and ourselves feeling not well after a drive on the freeway. After 3 separate trips to the service department and being told that nothing was wrong with the car, we decided that the car was no good to us if we get sick every time we drove it. I then returned to the sales department to give them a chance to make this right. The car had 200 miles on it. The manager stated that they couldn't help me and the only way out was to get into another Outback for almost double what my current lease was. That's right, double. I again asked them to make this right for a loyal Subaru customer and nothing was done. I then drove to Toyota and traded the Outback in for a Camry that is 4x as nice for the same price I was paying on my Outback lease. These guys lost a customer for life by not making this right for my family and I, especially with a car that was not drivable without getting sick. There was an issue w the radio display on the car I wanted and he went out of his way to make sure it got fixed and even knocked something off the price for the inconvenience.
