We tried Dickeys for the first time this weekend and were not fans. It's food court quality food at restaurant prices. The biggest tell about the restaurant is that when you walk through the lot, you smell the pizza from round table and you don't smell smoke or any other bbq goodness. That is pretty much all you need to know, but if you want the details, read on. We got there around noon, and they didn't have any ribs. That's OK, brisket and pulled pork should work fine. The carver pulled a hunk of brisket wrapped in saran wrap out of the oven behind him and cut a few slices and put it on the scale. Yup, they use a scale here, so don't expect a generous portion of meat. After he got the weight down to whatever its supposed to be, out came the pork from the oven, wrapped in saran wrap. The pork went back on the scale and got the add and subtract treatment until the goal weight was hit. They don't use plates, trays, or wrap for each weighing, so you get a little of what was on the scale before on your meat. Once you get your meat weighed, you push down the assembly line and pick your sides. We got cole slaw and beans. The portions were on the small side. You also get a piece of bread. We also got the smokehouse salad (i think that's what it was called -- just a salad with brisket on top.) The salad was romaine, cheese, and french fried onions. In the back you get your sauce. They have sweet, house sauce, and sweet and spicy. Make sure you get sauce, because you will need it. The food was all pretty bland. The sides were really plain and the meats were really plain as well. The sauce was actually pretty good. The sweet a spicy was a little too sweet, but it did have a little kick. The roll was super buttery, if you like that sort of thing. The salad was too plain and needed a better green mix and more toppings, especially since it just had the bland brisket on top. My favorite part about the meal was that they had free soft serve. The soft serve was kind of on the bland side too, but it was free and you could have as much as you wanted. I don't think we will be back. There is much better BBQ in Sacramento. If you do find yourself in the neighborhood, follow your nose. It won't bring you to Dickeys. read more

Ordered curbside pick up and came home with half of my order missing. Food was nasty and cold. Try to call the store, no one answered and after trying to call back multiple times, their phone line started to just beep. Will never come back ever again. The service was horrendous, they cancel 2/3 of my order but didn't have the courtesy to inform me, so the driver arrived with 1/3 of my original order and have no idea why the order was incomplete, so I call Dickeys and they informed me of the cancellation because they were out of the specific items we ordered instead of calling me and ask if I want a substitution they just cancel the order . Went back two weeks ago, after a pretty long and crappy day, hoping for some comfort food. Thankfully, the attraction is back, and everything went better than the last couple times. The staff was busy, but friendly. Menu still isn't 100% clear, but clear enough for what I was looking for (three-meat plate, because I eat my frustrations). Place was clean. Order was correct, and worked on promptly. Easy peezy. No more was Cake's "Comfort Eagle" running through my head as it did last time: He is handling the money He is serving the food He is now accepting callers He is calling me "Dude!" Only two things that weren't ideal was the meat being lukewarm, fried okra maybe a but underdone, and the sweet barbecue sauce tasting *off.* There was something wrong with it, and it kinda melted the cup it was in. Went back again two days ago, and the good things persisted, and the bad things above were remedied. When I got there I was greeted very nicely, when I gave Mike my name he said "That wasn't 20 mins", and we both laughed. Haven't been back to a Dickies in a very long time. I asked Fabiola what kind of ribs are they and she said they sell by the pound so I asked again and she said I cannot do a Double Meat with the ribs so I asked a 3rd time giving her a choice. I asked are they Baby Back Ribs or St. Louis Ribs and she said the ribs are Pork. Maybe the 4th time asking the same question is the charm? I asked again and Zack answered for her and said they were Baby Back. So now Fabiola storms off with an attitude and abandons her station. Is it my fault she doesn't know the difference? GO TO THE FREEZER AND GET THE BOX!! So when we get the food, the ribs look like they are St. Louis Ribs with the tips cut off. Usually I've seen Baby Back ribs are a little curved and not too long in length. Take a look at this photo and see what you think. The food is actually good, better than most other BBQ places. The ribs, brisket and polish sausage was flavorful and aside from Fabiola crappy attitude the service was good. I suggest the Owner/Manager educate the employees what they are serving. Hi Jared, thank you for acknowledging my review but you didn't mention Fabiola's very poor attitude. 2.5 stars...meh. We came in to grab a quick bite for dinner and left unsatisfied. We ordered a 2 meat combo. Our choices were brisket and sausage stuffed with cheese. For our sides, we got green beans, cole slaw, and added a side of mac n cheese. The meal also came with a roll, pickles, and onions. You get quite a bit of food...but the flavors were just meh. The brisket was ok...it was tender but tasted like it was definitely the end of the batch. The sausages were a strange dull color...I'm not sure if they were supposed to be gray-ish. I sure hope not! The sides were actually the highlights. I thought the roll was amazing. Everything else held its own. Don't forget to grab one of their BBQ sauces and pick up a free vanilla cone on your way out. read more

Well, this Dickey's is much better than the Stockton restaurant. I enjoyed my dinner. The brisket was tender and my barbecue beans & potato casserole were tasty. The only thing I didn't like was the roll. They don't let them brown all the way, so it's like you are eating dough. The service was okay, with the exception that they didn't have any more ribs. Well, tonight was the third order. I hate leaving a negative review, but I am so irritated. I spent over $100 tonight. We ordered (through Door Dash) three meats and four sides. The food was delicious. However, with each meat, I ordered original bbq sauce, onions, pickles and an extra roll. My favorite thing is to make mini sandwiches with their meats. I also made a special request for extra bbq sauce for the entire order. I received no bbq sauce, onions, pickles or rolls. Zero. Might not seem like a big deal, but it spoiled the meal for me. Tried to get a side to replace the price was told couldn't be done. Customers are what keep a business going. No effort was given to try to make it right. Do not buy ribs in pieces. Their ribs are mixed with old or previously cooked. Ribs are dry and not juicy! Never again!

Service: Slow and horrible. I order chicken with two sides: Potatoes waffle and okra. So the cashier told me to take a sit and will deliver the fried okra since there was a big line. Apparently, they mixed my order and gave to the wrong table. And after 20 minutes into my dish, I walked up to complain that we didn't receive the okra. So the guy made it again. But when the waitress came out with okra, she was confused which table and was going to give to another table again. Horrible service!!!! They need to give tables number. Food- Over rated. The chicken was okay. And they don't have a variety of options for chicken eaters. Restaurant Appearance - Limited seating inside. Dessert - they only have cookies. Not much selection. Free Drink- if you text the number advertised inside the restaurant then you'll get a free yellow cup drink. But you'll be bombed with massive texts. So better opt out. I can't really think of a reason why this Dickey's should get less than 5 stars. I have never had a less-than-enjoyable experience and the food has always been up to par. I always enjoy their brisket, sausages, and sides (potato salad and cesar salad). The staff always greets me when I come and they are generally very attentive to yours needs as a customer. My only beef (no pun intended :) ) has just been with the price of the food. You are generally paying $11-$13 for a plate of food which I guess is worth the quality you are receiving, but the main thing keeping me from frequenting often is merely the price. I feel that if I am going to pay around that for the food I will eat at a restaurant with servers. BUT with that being said I am pretty cheap so I don't want a business to be reviewed based on my inability to judge the value of food :) The restaurant is always very clean and you can't go wrong with the free ice cream. I LOVE their spicy BBQ sauce which is a great addition to the tender meat. Location of the restaurant is also nice. What else can I say? Good food and good people = good place to eat!! Oh and I don't really like the crushed ice for the soda fountain. Some people love it and that's cool, but I don't. But AGAIN, this minor personal preference will not reflect the overall quality of a business. I feel as if the owner is doing a very good job at making sure his/her establishment is a good one! Definitely fast casual! Food is acceptable. As a BBQ enthusiast, it is not the best tasting BBQ I've ever had but it does beat smoking your own brisket, port, ribs etc. this is my second time coming here and I don't bring the entire family as the price isn't cheap. You are paying restaurant $$$ for your meal. Sundays kids eat free with an adult entree purchase. Didn't work out for me as I purchased a pound of brisket for 13 bucks and a side if coleslaw for an extra 3 bucks. The place is small so if you arrive at a busy time and are planning to dine in, it's a gamble. Be prepared for plan B. Plan to take it home instead. read more

There is a frozen yogurt machine tuck in the corner if you can bypass the waiting patrons. Took the food home to eat. We got the family platter, and man was there a lot of food! Brisket & chicken was juicy! Ribs were fall off the bones, good..Mac & cheese was a little too saucy for me, but their potatoe casserole was delish! Original BBQ sauce was just ok. I mixed it with the spicy one, and it went well with the meats. They have daily specials and price is reasonable. Doesnt look like much when you walk past, but I was practically dying of hunger so I dropped by. The definition of a hole-in-the-wall. I got the regular pork sliders and wow... there are no words to describe how tasty they were. (And not just because I was hungry). They were cooked to perfection, crispy bun, juicy meat and I got French fries on the side that were to die for. They were crispy, flavorful and the perfect side dish in my opinion. There's about a million options available between the menu board and wall of specials so it can get a little overwhelming deciding what to get because, personally, all of it looked yummy. I don't think you can go wrong with whatever you choose. Not much else to say besides go see for yourself! You won't be disappointed with neither the food or the staff. They were extremely sweet and helpful and one girl in particular (I think her name starts with an M), was more than catering to my wishes whether it be napkins, utensils, another drink, more food, etc. that girl knows how to make a customer happy and full. :) read more

He went and grabbed another girl to take our order. She didn't know either. She called the manager to help instead. He didn't know. Told me to "look at them myself." -Bathroom had no soap at all. Not entirely sure how I feel about this place but I do know that the one major thing they need to work on is customer service! They messed up our order and even somehow forgot one of my kids order as well! The lady clearly asked me for our order one by one and they still messed that up. I was assuming they would bring our order to us after telling her what they forgot, waited 7-8 minutes and didn't see anyone coming so I went back up to the register and the guy cashier just handed our food not even apologizing or anything. Great place for quick BBQ that's worth the price. I love their pulled pork sandwich and Mac and cheese. Fries are also really well seasoned and tasty compared to most places. Got the Fancy Pork Tacos, Beefy Mac Tacos, Chicken and Spinach Tacos, and Pulled Pork Sliders. Portions are on the smaller size. The pork in the Fancy Pork Tacos were slightly dry. The Beefy Mac Tacos were great and very cheesy (in a good way). Mac and Cheese lover? This was made for you. The Chicken and Spinach Tacos were also good and quite an interesting combination.
