    Pulled Pork Sandwich
    Amber V.

Let me start by saying it's more of a 3.5 stars but I rounded up. We hadn't had Dickeys in years but I had I remembered it not being that great. However, I had a sizable rebate for Dickeys on one of my apps and in looking over Yelp reviews, I thought I may have remembered our last experience incorrectly, so I decided to give them another go and placed an order online for pick up. Pickup was easy, my order was ready within 30 per the app. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Staff were very nice and the inside was clean.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I got their family bundle which consisted of 4 pulled pork sandwiches and 2 "shareable" sides for $33 + tax. I got regular bbq sauce, sweet bbq sauce and spicy bbq sauce for our sandwiches. All were tasty, but I do wish the spicy had more spice to it. The pulled pork was good, hardly any fatty pieces at all. The shareable sides were smaller than I expected. Each container would feed 2 people, so for us, you either got potato salad or baked beans but couldn't get both because there wasn't enough of each. The baked beans were very pepper heavy and not sweet at all, we were not a fan. The potato salad was mustard heavy, which we are a fan of. When I picked up my order, I also purchased a large soda, it was $5, that seemed a little steep to me. They also charge a renewal/recycle program fee, it's only a few cents ($0.39 in my case) but I have no idea what it's for. Overall, it wasn't bad at all. I'd definitely come back for this deal again. Just get a different side other than the peppery baked beans.

    Brisket

Food: Brisket was great. We all enjoyed our food very much. Fried okra is amazing. Employees: Very sweet and hard working. Atmosphere: [[HIGHLIGHT]]AWFUL! They don't have a functioning AC.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]We felt so bad for the employees.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Purchased 1# sliced brisket and 1# pulled pork with the intent to save it for the next day Super Bowl. Well, we got home and started nibbling and just couldn't stop. The meat was cooked perfectly; the young lady and gentlemen were super friendly and attentive...Our salutes!

three 3 Meat Plate smoked chicken, chopped brisket and sliced Brisket

Man I came here around 8pm with my little brother...i expected fresh Brisket and fresh smoked chicken man practically the only fresh item that was freshly made was the fries and even that was the taste of frost bite...keep this in mind I had this food before never did it taste like this! I'm very disappointed in the quality and quantity of the meat in this place. I really feel like this meat was microwaved or heated up from earlier today and this is disappointing and dry!!...no doubt nauseous what a disappointment.

    Mac & Cheese Hand-Cut Fries

Don't ever order from here give us skimpy servings of lukewarm food and and house cut fries (right) is a large serving and the mac and cheese (left) is the next size up

Stopped here after shopping at Belair. It had gone away before and came back to the same location a couple of years later. Still the same food. When you're in a pinch for some BBQ and don't have time to travel it will do . I got the 3 meat combo. The meats were moist and pretty good. I like the place and the staff are really nice.

I got to try Dickey's once again after so many years. I remember going to this place when they first opened and they were on point. Fast forward a few years later and I decided to try them again. I got a BOGO promo sandwich and ordered the brisket sandwiches for pick up. The place looks the same under new ownership but the vibe is different. Service was actually nice and the wait time was minimal. The brisket sandwiches were okay but on the dry side. The sauce and the coleslaw did save it a little.

Burnt and dry ribs spit it out as soon as I tasted it

IM SOOO UPSET! I ordered lunch for myself and my children and I'm DISGUSTED! the food is BURNT AND DRY & old looking like it's just been sitting! the bag was covered in oil & ribs are dry and old like they grabbed this bag from the garbage!! I'm sooo upset! I spent $50 and can't even eat it! Don't eat here !!!

    $7 sandwhich? (Pulled Pork Sandwich)
    Justin S.

I drop by today because I had a free sandwich from T-Mobile Tuesday's offer. I chose the brisket sandwich yet 2 minutes before arriving at the store they told me they sold out so I got pulled pork instead. I took of 2 stars because I find it weird how they charge for sauces... even bbq sauce. This makes no sense why would you charge for bbq sauce for bbq sandwich? And honestly the sandwhich taste ok. I got the sandwich plain because I didn't want to pay for the sauce. I probably won't be back...

    Dickeys

I came to Dickeys for the first time looking for something different in the area. Ribs were tender and flavorful. They were truly the star of the meal. Brisket was well seasoned but a little overcooked. Loaded baked potato Casserole was seasoned well and had real pieces of potato but was very dry and could use more cheese and bacon. Green beans with bacon were cold but flavored well and had a slight spiciness to them. Bread was softer than I like for toast so I only took one bite just to taste it. Not bad. Overall I thought the food was decent and will most likely try them again.

Oh my, the French toast is a huge portion and beautifully presented with a side of whipped cream and strawberry compote on top. It's not as sweet as it looks (perfect for my taste) and the toast had crispy edges. Sausage was good but needed to be cooked just a bit longer, so you get that snap when you bite it. Scrambled eggs were good too. My husband got the chorizo burrito with tater tots on the side. He liked the burrito but said it did have little kick to it. The tots were fried to perfection and not oily. My brother ordered the "Dad's Mash Up," all kinds of stuff (breakfast meats and cheese) served on top of tots and covered in gravy. It was a pile of food, no complaints from my bro. Service was great and welcoming as soon as we walked in. No wait on a Wednesday morning, but I imagine there is on the weekends. I let our server know it was my brother's birthday, and after we were finishing up our meals, they brought him a complimentary small plate of the strawberry French toast! That was a fantastic way to end his celebratory breakfast. My only complaint, which is more of a suggestion, is to have flavored cream available besides half and half. The coffee is strong and delicious and our cups were never empty. Thank you, Jamie and staff, for a wonderful and yummy first visit. We'll be back!

Much of the interior consists of plain, single-color walls without much décor, giving it a blank and somewhat incomplete feel. Service: Friendly but slow and somewhat disorganized. * At check-in, the host added my name (Lin) to the waitlist and said I would receive a text when my table was ready. However, the notification arrived under a different name (Nancy), so I had to double-check whether the table was actually for us. * Our server was pleasant, but service felt scattered. She stopped by to check on us, but before we could respond, she walked over to another table and continued a conversation there. When she returned, she said she would bring water, even though we were already ready to order. It took a while for the water to arrive. * Later, we requested a water refill, which she acknowledged, but it appeared to be forgotten. The refill only came when we were getting ready to leave, at which point she apologized. Although it was a Sunday brunch service, the restaurant did not seem busy enough to fully explain the level of disorganization. Food: Breakfast is available all day. I recommend the Eggs Benedict (weekends only), which comes in several varieties: A. Bacon, spinach, and tomato Benedict B. Traditional ham Benedict C. Cali Benedict with avocado, tomatoes, and arugula D. Smoked Salmon Benedict The Club Sandwich also comes with a generous portion size. A nice convenience is that the restaurant allows split bills, and guests can pay individually through the Toast app.

Plenty of parking, and the dining room was clean and inviting. Background music was at a comfortable level for conversation while at the same time giving the place a New Orleans feel. Shout out to Annabella who was working both as hostess and our server. She did an incredible job throughout our visit. Prices are in the upper teens for breakfast. I went with the Dixie Skillet and it was huge! I could have easily split it with someone, but instead I took the other half home for breakfast the next morning. Honestly, I think they could cut the portion back a third, drop the price down to $14, and it would still be a fair value. Here's a tip for families: if you have toddlers who are fine with a half-pancake and maybe some samplings of fruit, potato, or eggs off your plate, choose a side for your meal that they can have. Unlike Black Bear Diner's $5 kids meals, Huckleberry's misses the mark here by charging over $7. Not needing a full breakfast for our granddaughter, we thought ordering just a single piece of French toast was a cheaper alternative, but were charged $6.49 for just that! Not exactly young family wallet friendly. No star deduction for that; just be aware. Bottom line... Come hungry and enjoy!

Food: 2.6 Sunday brunch after church is are normal, but we decide to go back to Huckleberry's since they've been consistent our last few visits. Unfortunately this was one of those days! Greeted at the door and sat immediately, our server came over and took our drink order; at this point we were off to a great start but that's where service stalled. Our server dropped off drinks and took our food order: chicken and waffle stack and a Monté Cristo sandwich with fries. Our food gets dropped off fairly quickly (by food runners). My wife is very simple and doesn't complain about much so I could not assess her meal, but the Monté Cristo was a disappointment, the sandwich was oily which I expected if it was deep fried but it was just oozing clarified butter and the powdered sugar was an afterthought or only for looks. Even the powdered sugar couldn't hide the amount of oil leaking from the bread. The side of French fries were cold and soggy, so I decided to pack them up and refry them at home since I knew my wife would only eat half her meal. And the only time we saw our server after she took our order was when she brought our check and returned our CC. Not sure if we'll return anytime soon...

I made a reservation inquiry for my birthday at exactly 5:00 PM on Saturday, April 11, for a party…read moreof two. I was told the earliest available reservation was 7:45 PM. I then asked if there was any chance of being seated sooner as a walk-in, and Aubrey told me they had room for two at a table in the bar area. I specifically asked whether it was an actual table where we could comfortably order food, because I did not want to be stuck at some tiny corner setup where only one plate could fit. I also made it clear that it was my birthday and that I wanted something a little more formal and comfortable. I was told it would be in the front by the bar, not shoved in a corner, though it could be a little crowded if people were in the waiting area. When we arrived, the first issue was parking. For a first-time guest, parking was unnecessarily difficult to figure out, especially during a rainstorm. Since the restaurant is set up like a small house, it was not obvious where to park, and there was no clear sign letting us know there was parking around the back. Once we walked in, I immediately saw the table that had been described to us. It was right near the bar against the wall, and it was much smaller and more awkward than I had been led to believe. My girlfriend was wearing a dress, and because it was such a high table, it made it uncomfortable for her to sit naturally and comfortably. As soon as we sat down, I looked at the table and asked if we were really going to be able to order multiple items and eat comfortably there. I was told they would "pace it" and "make it work." That should have been the warning sign right there. We started with two ice waters, and even that nearly filled the table. They brought a pitcher and poured the water into the glasses. I asked for a separate cup of ice, and because there was so little room on the table, I had to ask the waiter to take the glass back and pour it for me so I would not spill everything. That is how cramped this setup was. We ordered the chicken breast special and a half dozen oysters. First came the garlic bread, and now we had bread, butter, two waters, silverware everywhere, and barely any room left. Then the oysters arrived, and everything had to be shifted around just to make it fit. At that point, the table had bread, oysters, hot sauce, waters, and multiple pieces of silverware for each guest, and it felt like one wrong move would send a glass to the floor. After we finished the oysters and bread, they cleared the table and brought out our entrée. We ordered the shareable chicken breast after I specifically asked whether it would be enough food for both of us. The waiter said it should be. In reality, it was about four small pieces of chicken once cut, three asparagus spears, and two very small scoops of mashed potatoes. For the price, it was honestly disappointing. I cannot remember the last time I paid that much at a nicer restaurant and still left hungry. What made it worse was that they knew it was my birthday and did absolutely nothing to acknowledge it. No small dessert, no candle, no gesture, nothing. Ironically, the only people who made the night feel special were another couple who had apparently been dining there for years. They overheard us mention it was my birthday and kindly bought us two sparkling wines. That was thoughtful, but it also added even more clutter to an already ridiculously tiny table. The service overall was underwhelming. We were barely checked on, and the whole experience felt awkward. The hostess kept staring at us throughout the meal, and at one point, she rolled her eyes when she went to take the Tabasco sauce, and we told her we still needed it for the chicken. For the prices Boulevard Bistro charges, I expected much better service, better communication, and a much more comfortable dining experience. Instead, the whole night felt misleading, cramped, and disappointing. I will not be coming back.

I have been coming to this wonderful restaurant for years…read more The staff is unbelievable Awesomeness. I have never been disappointed with anything, lord knows I am picky. They all go beyond to do what they can for all as quick as possible. I have been in customer service as a stylist for 45yrs, I know quality when I see and experience it. Thank you Brickhouse in Elk Grove for being the beautiful people you all are. I am very bless to be apart of this family.

We went out for girls night here and had a good time! I felt…read morethat they were pretty handicap accessible, had big portions, with a good wine and beer list. The noise was a bit loud and the decor seemed a little dated. Overall the pros outweigh these, the service was solid, and we had a fun! 1. Parking Parking lot with 2 handicap spots. Also easy walkway from the handicap spots into the restaurant. Easy to pull into from the street if coming from 99. I would suggest not trying to back out to the street when leaving however and instead we went through the parking lot, made a left at the ally and from there make a turn from the stop sign at Main Street. 2. Menu: Every thing we ordered was delicious. They had a large wine and beer menu. The blonde beer was ice cold and light for a summer drink. The house red was pretty mellow and very full bodied. The Sauvignon Blanc wasn't too sweet and had a hint of vanilla. The portion sizes of the meals were huge. None of could finish our plates! The bread is extra at 6 dollars, but worth it mainly due to the garlic/chive butter with it. We also ordered the fried zucchini as an appetizer - it was hot and crispy. The zucchini and breading were not soggy at all, and the breading stuck perfectly (these are common issues I've had at other places with fried zucchini) The ribeye was cooked perfectly and was incredibly tender. My friend pointed out that this was a very large piece a bit on the thinner side- they may have pounded it out to tenderize it is our guess. The farmer special was our favorite. It was a braised short rib and you could order it with pasta however we did it with the polenta. It was so very tender and savory. Came with a lot of polenta and it was very cheesy with Parmesan. The linguine and clams had both shelled and unshelled clams. I felt that there could have been more meat for the clam to pasta ratio. It was full of garlic and the cream sauce was zesty. 3. Atmosphere: It's a decent sized building, with a nice big bar in the front a smaller room to the left and a larger room in the back. There was plenty of seating for if you needed to wait. The walkways were wide and it was easy to move around, so no issues using a walker here and I would guess a wheelchair should be fine. The backroom had big booth seats, and would probably be good for large groups and families. The decor seemed a little dated and there was a jukebox in the smaller room, which although we were seated in the back was very loud and at the beginning of our experience it was hard to hear each other and was distracting. During this time the music kept switching songs every 10 to 30 seconds. I inquired why, and every Tuesday night they do "Music Bingo". So that could be a plus for some people, who want a more laid back atmosphere and enjoy a community game! The people in the front of the restaurant seemed to really enjoy it! However I would say if you are planning a quiet evening out or a first time date, you may want to come any other night but Tuesday. 4. Service: All our food and drinks come out in an appropriate time. Drinks were cold and food was hot! Our server made sure we had everything we needed and the manager even come by to check on us. I do love the brick building and how it's on old Elk Grove. We will be back!
