I ordered from DoorDash before and they forgot a bunch of my sides and my barbecue sauce then I decided to try again but ordering on the app this time and they forgot a side again and my barbecue sauce. I realized they missed a side at first and went back in to get it. When I got home I realized they also forgot my barbecue sauce. I thought it would be in the meal containers bc its a bbq spot so each meal should already come with a side of sauce.... I even left a tip, feels like I shouldn't of bc they didnt reach my expectations at all. Had to eat my food cold, and it did not taste good. Been there at least a dozen times since it opened up. I love it, my kids love it and most of all my husband loves it! They is one place we all can agree to go and eat at. The owner is very nice. A while ago, I wrote a terrible review based on my experience at Dickey's Laguna Blvd store in Elk Grove. They deserved the review at that time. I had the rib plate and quite frankly the ribs were dry, tough, and awful. I was contacted the next day by the owner, Jared K. He asked that I try again - on him. I did and once again the ribs were not good. I must commend Kurt and this company since he asked me to try again which I did tonight! I have to tell you that the ribs tonight were some of the very best I have ever eaten. Just as his ad suggests, the meat literally dropped off the bones, thee ribs were tender and juicy. The cabbage slaw and Mac N Cheese sides were delicious! I have to respect an owner that takes his business seriously, personally gets involved and solves problems. My husband and I tried this place on a whim looking for some good local BBQ. I had the ribs which were OK, and he tried the brisket which was overdone and dry. The sides were decent, but when it comes to BBQ I was a little underwhelmed. Next time I get the craving for barbeque, I'll do it myself at home. They do a lot of great charity work, though! Almost a five star review. It missed because of the customer service. AND here's why : Upon arriving you have to orient yourself to the style of ordering. You order the meat or plate first, then whatever sides order you, then the drinks. It's very similar to an assemble line. The first person to take your order ought to greet you. We stood there for seven minutes-yes I time it until he made eye contact and said he would be with us in a moment. Eight minutes more and now the line goes out the door does he take our order. He can't hear us unless you yell at him because of the plastic divide between us. Plus he's very rude. Extremely rude to everyone in line as I came to find out. The little lady taking the side orders was a little better. But Joaquin the cashier for the moment and he does get your drink is extremely customer friendly. Later on Joaquin moves to the first stop in the ordering procedures. The line never makes it out the door when he on point. They need more friendly people like that because when you get there for the first time you have to adjust to the ordering style. The first plate we ordered was the two meat plate that went for 12:95. The second plate was the special of the day. The drinks come in a big yellow cup for two dollars a piece. The meat plate was alright. We picked the brisket and ham. Two side orders are just that.. Side orders. I decided after tasting the brisket to get a pound of it and potato salad as an additional cost. That was the plate to have gotten the first time. Not the meat plates. Brisket was extremely tasted. We all enjoyed that. Mac and cheese I guess was great my daughter ate both sides of it. The bbq sauce is in the back with the drinks and condiments. There is sweet that seems watered down. The original sauce is better. The texture is more consistence of a sauce. But the great sauce that makes your meat more of a decadence morsel is the hot and spicy sauce. Yes, you need the free ice cream to cool your taste buds. In all it would have been a five star review except for the gentleman we had to order our meats from at the beginning. OK I am back up a star for Dickey's! They redeemed themselves yesterday by comp'ing us a meal! Thank youuuuuu! Pulled pork was the best it's been and the chicken - ohhhh yah! Ok so I am always skeptical about good BBQ, especially commercial establishments such as this however I was pleasantly surprised. The service was slow and the young school aged workers were a bit disorganized but I loved my meal. I had the chopped brisket, green beans with bacon and Mac n cheese. Brisket and green beans were delish....Mac was just ok...kind of velveeta'ish. My husband had the fried okra which was super tasty. Loved the little mini ice cubes but wasn't super keen on the price. Not sure what the hype is about the ice cream as its your basic flavorless soft serve but free none the less. We will be back! read more

Karen is/was awesome. We ordered 8 racks of ribs for a family get together a week before and Karen was very helpful and friendly on the phone. I needed to pick them up right when they opened at 11. Got there 10 minutes early and they were just putting the finishing touches on them. They cut them into individual ribs, packed them up with plenty of extra sauce in large foil pans and we were out the door at 11. I had an email for 1 free pound of pulled pork which she gladly added to my order that morning. I was so focused on the ribs and sauce that I didn't even notice that I walked out without the pulled pork. Karen came outside to my car to let me know that she also forgot the pork and ask me to wait just a minute. She quickly came back out with the pulled pork all wrapped and ready for the trip. I love the sauces (sweet BBQ is my favorite), the sweet tea, free pickles and free ice cream to top off the fantastic meal! The Dickey's crew is fast, friendly and fun to be around. They greet you right away and make you feel welcomed and valued as a new Dickey's guest. The manager is personable, providing information about Dickey's, checking on the quality of the food and providing guest tastes of the wonderful meats barbecued there.
