Great service. Food was good. Prices are a little high for BBQ, but not horribly expensive.

Okay, so I love Applebee's. I know it's a lame-o place to love, but it's true. I think their food…read moreis really good and I like the casual ambience and the effort each location puts in to having some element of local culture or history inside. As you can imagine, I've visited a lot of different locations! That being said, this is probably the worst experience I've ever had at an Applebee's. We arrived a few minutes before 10pm on a Tuesday. No issues being sat, though why they decided to put a group of five at the biggest table in the restaurant when the building was almost completely empty, I'm not sure. Our server was...fine? She seemed really stressed and a little absent. The result was pretty mediocre service. The whole reason we stopped in was to order half-price appetizers. Where I'm from, apps are half off the menu price after 9pm every night. Here, they have what they call "late night" apps, which is just a marketing scheme to make you think you're going to get your appetizers for half price when you actually have to wait until the last hour that they're open, it's only select appetizers, and they aren't actually half price. This whole duplicitous practice made me so mad that I wanted to leave! However, it was late, we were all tired, and we hadn't eaten, so this was pretty much our only option. We ordered a total of 2 appetizers and 2 drinks (other than water). Margarita - no salt on the rim after specifically requesting it. When it was corrected, it was done by another pissy member of staff, perhaps a manager? Coke - watered down. Didn't bother asking to correct it. Mozzarella sticks - underdone and falling apart when I tried to pick them up. It came with a half-full container of marinara. Boneless wings - ordered at the same time as the mozzarella sticks, came out 10 minutes after. And the cherry on top was an additional charge for marinara. I get two marinara sauces every single time I order mozzarella sticks, which is every time I go to Applebee's. I have NEVER been charged for this. Not to mention the fact that our waitress didn't tell me she was going to upcharge me! That's incredibly bad practice as a server, which I know from experience. Go anywhere else. I'm so serious.

I was hesitant about this Applebee's location due to all the negative reviews. I ordered my food to…read morego, so I cannot speak to the quality of dine-in services. I ordered a steak, and it was decent; I enjoyed my meal. The food was slightly saltier than I preferred, but I topped my steak with the shrimp parm topper, and I believe that's what made it slightly saltier. I ordered my food, and it was ready for pickup within 25 minutes. The restaurant only had a few tables filled, so that most likely explains the quick turnaround. My meal was decent for the price point. I did not have any issues with being overcharged, as some of the previous comments suggested. I was greeted within a minute of walking in, so I really had no issues and no complaints.

This is a wonderful restaurant. I have not been here in years. Honestly, it was a last minute…read morething. A welcome to a delicious dinner! If you never been to one. A little bit intimidating when you walk in. In a good way though. You first walk into a general store in the front. Usually they have people walking around waiting on a table. You seem confused; did I just step into a restaurant or a store? They quickly sat us down. They mainly offer just table seating. They are old style country wooden chairs and tables. As far as I know they do not padding or booth style seating. With a big fireplace near the front of the restaurant and kitchen. Gives you a sense of old style country theme. We were greeted with a warm welcome with a smile by Ashley. She asked us we like something to drink or just water. Also an appetizer to kick things off? We declined on the water. However, we decided on ice sweet tea and order of biscuit beignets. Biscuit Beignets - fluffy fried biscuit dough tossed in cinnamon sugar, then dusted with powdered sugar. Served with sweet butter pecan sauce. She came back with our drinks and mentioned on our appetizer will out shortly. We advised her we decided on what to order. Did the grandma's Sampler Breakfast - hash browns casserole, two buttermilk pancakes with two fresh eggs (choice of type) usually come with bacon, sausage, and ham. Served with pure maple syrup and whipped butter. We were not that hungry so opted out of the eggs, bacon, and cured ham this time. It was Friday and so had to go with the Friday Fish Day - four hand-breaded and fried cod fillets. Served with Tatar sauce and lemon. Served with two or three sides. And of course a choice of their delicious biscuit or corn bread. The appetizer came out. It is not exactly the original beignets. However, it just as delicious and close enough without having making a road trip to New Orleans. If you have a sweet tooth? Definitely recommend the sauce. It only enhances the flavor. In my opinion. She later bought out our order. She asked if we would like anything else. She forgot to bring out the biscuit. She said she will be back. She quickly remedied the situation and also hooked me up. Not only she came back with just one. She came back with both biscuit and cornbread fresh from the oven. Overall, the meal was fantastic and Ashley was absolutely amazing to take care of us! They came back with the bill. You don't pay at the table. However, you pay at the register in the general store. Give you an excuse to see any other goodies to take home. If they are out of stock of a certain item. They mentioned that they will assist you in ordering it online for you or to the store. They do offer a military discount and rewards program. I believe they offer free WiFi. Make this part of your food journey.

The food at this location was fresh and prepared well. Service was excellent as were the creative offerings in the store. We stopped as a party of two. While in town for our yearly vacation, we decided on Woody's Roadside for a quick and easy dinner…read morebased on the reviews and pictures, as well as recommendations from a few locals. Unfortunately we were left pretty underwhelmed with the experience. It's not that Woody's is bad, per se, it just isn't...good. The service was great. Our server, Jaclyn, was very attentive and helpful. She didn't hover but she made sure we had what we needed and was nearby if we had questions or requests. Jaclyn recommended the margarita, which is where things started going downhill. My dad ordered a classic lime margarita and didn't take more than a couple drinks of it. We all tried it and agreed it just had a nasty flavor. Sort of like bad white grape juice? It was weird, and of course there's a little asterisk on the menu that notes all alcohol sales as final. We were unimpressed with that but didn't even try to argue the point. Our food came next. It was actually incredibly fast service, especially considering the 30-top that was seated when we arrived, with their orders given to the kitchen right before ours. Everything was hot and fresh, though not all delicious. Here's a run down of my family's reviews of their food: Build-A-Burger w/ Amer. cheese - A bit too thick and tough like the meat had been slightly overworked, but it had a great flavor and was seasoned well. The edges were burnt and it was well done, not medium well. Good beer-battered fries. Spicy Hawaiian chicken sandwich - Very flavorful and tropical but the toppings made the bun soggy and the ratio of filling to bun was way off, even with ham and lettuce removed. Crab cake tower - The fried green tomatoes and sauce were great, as was the corn bean salsa that came with it. The crab cakes were good too, though nothing special. The shrimp on top were juicy and well-seasoned. Wouldn't go back for it though. Korean pork tacos w/ mac & cheese - They were okay. The slaw included was a bit too sour but the pork was juicy and flavorful. The mac & cheese was too bland. Chicken strips & fries - The chicken tenders were cut wrong so they were hard to eat. I had to cut them up with a fork and knife to get bite-sized pieces that I could chew. They had a good flavor but the technique needs some work. The beer-battered fries have a strange seasoning on them that got more unpleasant the more I ate, but everyone else liked them, so that's probably just me. This is one of my least favorite restaurants we've been to on the Gulf Coast, which is unfortunate because I honestly thought I was going to like it a lot! For the price, I don't think this is a great place, especially because it's pretty out of the way from the main drag(s).

It was very good, but not sure what that thin sauce on it was, plus a few crumbled pieces of blue cheese. Kind of hard to hold and eat unless you smash it down. Craving satisfied.
