This is the worse customer service I've ever encountered. My family and I walked in and were the first ones there, but were completely ignored. I walked up to the cash register where this Asian kid with glasses was standing and he just ignored me. His friend didn't care to even acknowledge any of the 4 of us, he was was wearing his apple airpods. Perhaps he couldn't see either. Then a kid came in with a Burger King shirt and apparently was their friend and jumped in front of us and was helped. They were out of potatoes again like our last time so we had to leave. I had never tried this place before and then I had it for catering at a work party. Everything was so delicious! It was very fresh.

Just a really poor experience. Both rib plates were luke warm at best with no flavor. The 2 sandwiches were bland and tough like Jerky. I had to repeat myself multiple times to the workers on the sides I wanted and ultimately thwy still got my order i correct once i finally got home . I visited this Lathrop restaurant last week. I should have left when i noticed the the workers had no mask on and no hand sanitizers in site. I ordered the meat plate of ribs and brisket. I was told to pick up my sauce and again no sanitizers just BAU at the sauce table. Signed the bill, same dirty pen, not sanitizers. Got home. Food was awful. 3 dried up ribs with dark dry bones. Brisket cut with the grain so it was stringy. We tossed it out. Soooo disappointed. Had been watching barbeque show on Tv and we were dying to have barbeque for dinner. Wanted to contact owner, but how d you do that? When i had complained about lack of Cov19 rules, the young man says the owner knows. Im done. No barbeque places in our area. I was the only customer in the store, and he still forgot one of my sides. Not only that, but when I checked my receipt he didn't even add it to my order, after I asked for potato salad on the side which led him to ask me if I wanted to make it a plate, and still forgot. So I was still charged for a whole plate when I was only given just the sandwich. The pulled pork sandwich is extremely dry and could definitely use some bbq sauce. Order to pick up is a joke. Ordered online a little before 6:45pm requested 7pm pickup. Received an email with a link to show the status of the order. Around 7pm I called to confirm my order was received since my order still showed it was the order cue,the person I spoke it with told me they just grabbed it from the cue and were getting it ready. No time frame was provided so I continued to check the status of the order provided on my confirmation email. After an hour of placing my order I decided to drive down there. Supposedly my order was ready for some time and when I asked why my order wasn't being updated I was told only delivery orders receive updates and I was just suppose to come at 7pm as requested. I then informed them that I called at 7 to check my order the response I received was it was just pulled from the cue not that it was ready. I understand its rare that food is ready at the exact time you order it but that's not the issue the issue is lack of communication and a "convenient" service that does not work properly. You can't compare this place to the Modesto or Turlock Dickies. Their meats were not very tasty. The pulled pork was very mushy. Their bisquits were very hard and their BBQ sauces were very runny, possibly to accommodate their dispensers. The ring leader wasn't very pleasant and the workers seemed confused. Having been in there about every 2 to 3 weeks, my son orders the same thing. This time was horrible!! He ordered a 3 meat plate. When he got home, he noticed that it was more of a 2 meat plate. When I called to ask about it, the young lady who answered said, Oh I remember that order, and yes it was 3 meat. I said no it wasn't, it couldn't be. In an aggressive voice, she said, No, we weigh everything! I wasn't happy with that answer and thought I would just going online to complain. Wow. This is the worst food I've ever tasted in my life!! I ordered the The Quarter Plate with 2 sides. I had the sliced beef brisket which half of it was purely fat. Side #1, fried okra, which was covered in sodium. I had to remove the coating so that I didn't have to taste the salt. Side #2, green beans w/ bacon, which was enriched with sodium as well and had no bacon. I probably had 3 bites and couldn't eat anymore. The entire meal was inedible and had to throw it out. Now this is the 2nd time I've tried to eat there and the 2nd time they didn't have the sausage. The first time was for lunch so they really had NO EXCUSE to run out that time. So I've decided strike 2 means they're out. I'll NEVER EVER eat there as there are plenty of other BBQ places that I can eat. We today is my 10th or more time here eating at this "family" owned and operated restaurant chain. Food 5 stars, service improved drastically & as of Today I give them 4-1/2. I have eaten Every meat & side available & all I 5 say is Fantastic. I have eaten @ Dickey's in Florida, South Carolina, & 2 other locations in California. The food is delicious but I admit without extra sauce some of the meat may be slightly dry. So they have extra available in 3 flavors. I attended their pre-opening the wait was very long because the Lathrop District (note not the City of Lathrop Chamber) Chamber of Commerce was there & in MY Opinion they took advantage of this couple's generosity. Many after eating going back for 2nd's, 3rd's and in one case 5th's. They were walking out with shopping bags of FREE food. Too bad the owners' did know this crowd doesn't represent the good people of Lathrop. I strongly recommend this Dickey's. The owners are hardworking, friendly, local people. read more

This is my first time on Yelp, I created an account specifically to put in a public complaint because I have never been treated so terribly at any establishment in my life. I'm normally a huge fan of the food at the location in Lathrop, CA. Sure they usually got my order wrong somehow by either forgetting some ingredients or completely forgetting to add things I pay for like extra sauce or corn bread, but I've always let it slide because the food satisfied me enough. However, I refuse to ignore what happened yesterday. I have never been treated so terribly at any establishment in my life. It's a shame because I had very recently introduced my parents to Dickeys which they enjoyed as well. They even used my referral code to open new accounts yesterday, but after the treatment we received yesterday, it's very unlikely that we will be spending our money at Dickeys. The individuals detailed in this review have questionable work ethics and need a big lesson in humility. The orders my father, mother, and I placed online on date 01-28-22 were not honored at your store location at 15338 S Harlan Rd, Lathrop, CA 95330. We each placed orders under our separate accounts. We were called by the store and told to cancel our orders because they did not want to honor the free chicken or sausage sausage sandwich with the purchase of a big yellow cup, a promotional sale they had going for 2 days. I knew this was bogus because there was no problem when I ordered the exact same thing the day before on 1-27-22 as records will show. I didn't want to get into a yelling match with the unhelpful employee so I was going to go ahead and cancel my orders, a thing a customer should not even be made to do in the first place. However, Dickeys' online website does not give the customer any ability to cancel an order at all. When I informed the employee of the situation and asked him if he can cancel our orders on their end, he put me on hold without muting me (he thought he had muted me). I could hear him speaking ill of me to his manager, even using the "N" word to refer to me. After speaking to his manager he got back on the phone with me. He said they would not honor the orders after speaking to his manager. I told him that the orders were already placed and that not allowing us any way of canceling our orders while not giving us anything in return for our purchases was essentially theft. He then lied to me and claimed I must have used a third-party website like Uber or GrubHub, but as records indicate, we used dickeys.com to place our orders. They continued to refuse any support and abruptly hung up on me. I called back and asked for their names, but they refused. I asked to speak to the manager directly and he claimed to be the manager. I know he was lying because just moments ago he said that he had to speak to his manager in regards to how to cancel online orders. Not only was this person a liar, but he also called me the "N" word. He was hostile and aggressive from the get go, lied to me, offended me, and refused to give me and his manager's name when I called him out on his ridiculous behavior. He said that if I wanted his and the manager's name, that I would have to go to the store directly. Suffice to say, it was not a pleasant experience. Our orders were not canceled, and so they essentially committed theft against us as customers, a criminal offense. Not only did they treat me horribly, they essentially committed a criminal offense by stealing our money because they refused to honor orders that we cannot cancel on our end, nor can they cancel on their end. When our call ended, they refused to pick up the phone when we tried to reach them again in order to solve this situation. There was no attempt on their part to resolve this in a professional and friendly manner. The manager knew what had happened because he was right next to his employee while he kept bad mouthing me. What kind of manager allows an employee to talk to customers like that? I'm not sure how Dickeys goes about vetting for their hiring process, but these individuals should not be working there because it's a lawsuit waiting to happen. I have already contacted our bank to explain the situation. I will also be speaking to my lawyer. I would appreciate it if I can get a hold of someone at corporate to settle this matter. The Lathrop, CA is the worst. I ordered through the app & chose curbside pickup for 6PM because I had two little ones with me(one sleeping, the other immunocompromised) & had groceries to pick up at 530. When I got there, I pushed check in as instructed in the email. Waited 30 minutes- nothing. My ice cream & frozen veggies are now melting so I walk in. The kid behind the counter says my order isn't even ready yet.... So I tell him it was a curbside order that was supposed to be ready at 6. I ordered it on the app an hour ahead of time so it would be ready. He tells me that they don't even have curbside. So why does your app give the option for curbside? He stated "we don't even get orders on the app". Really? Then how are you making my order then? By this time I just want to cancel my order & go somewhere else, but miraculously the kid finishes the food & has me sign a receipt covered in sauce with a pen that was also covered in sauce. I paid for extra sauce but the kid says they don't have sauce behind the counter, I have to get my own.... from a community container that has been left open all day(I can tell because it is super thick & sticky at the bottom) bleh. Don't they realize there's a pandemic going on?!? That's a huge Covid breeding ground with the lid remaining open & people walking by coughing on it@ When we got home, I realised the texas toast & pickles that I paid extra for weren't even there. I sent a message through Facebook- they said to send an email. I sent an email & got no response. I called the store & got the same kids who won't give me their name or direct me to their manager. I live an hour away so I'm not going back there to speak with someone in person. My next step will be to file fraud with my bank since I did not recieved what I paid for (I also added a tip through the app that I want back because those kids didn't provide service that deserves a tip). read more

Date of the review is 11/30/2019. Called in to the franchise tonight at 5:26. First question was, what time does the store close....Response I got back was "...its kind of slow tonight, we may close early...". Asked for more details and the employee noted that they would close around 8. Asked for conformation that they had specific menu items on hand, was told they were out of 2 of the 4 things requested. The back story on the questions is that this is the second time I would have been to this venue. First time, we sent in an internet order, when I arrived to pick it up, was advised they were out of several items. Had to call home, complete rework of the order plus sort out with the staff what the correct price would be as they had already put the charge on the ATM card. Did not want a repeat performance so one does the smart thing when its storming outside, call ahead. And I am glad I did as it would have been a repeat performance. Suggesting that corporate work with the franchise owner and staff to clean up the operations of this venue. Looking at the comments list, this venue seems to have management / training of staff issues. Sadly, I do not see this venue being in business much longer if the trend continues. Next closest venue is Riverback, 45 minute round trip for take out does not make sense. message sent to corporate asking them the same questions. read more

I waited until my second visit to write this review; For a restaurant which serves its customers "fast food" style (no waiters/waitress) the food was completely overpriced considering the moderate portions and quality of the meal. I had the two meat plate which came out to be $15.00 with a small drink. Easily, 1/5 of the meat portions were meat fat and skin (in-eatable). The biscuit lacked any flavor. Ordered online, to come grab my meal 15 min away Natalie inspected the bag, order was ready at 2:15 and we got there at 2:30 to only pick up our meal to not have everything we ordered. The manager said he would take care of us, to only charge us $30 more dollars for stuff that was included in meal! To say online ordering was different than what they have smh! Never will order from this place again! Ordered at 1:30pm and jusy now picking up the correct order at 3:55!
