Amazing experiences here other than the line. Our office learned to get there a few minutes before noon to beat the other worker drones coming out of their cubicles. I didn't mind even a small line of 10-15 people as it gave me more time to study up on the menu hanging from the walls to see what was in season to add to the bowl on that particular day/week. It's another quick serve concept but with very high grade, fresh ingredients. You start with either brown rice, quinoa or greens. The brown rice has a nice touch of parsley added to it and was flavorful enough for me to keep getting. Next up... Head down the line for your "Market" sides and protein. I never wavered from the grilled chicken thighs for my meat (white meat be damned) and mainly stuck with things like the mac n cheese, roasted sweet potatoes, cashew kale ceasar, roasted garlic tater salad and seasonal summer veggies. You can't go wrong with any of these options, always seasoned perfectly....never too salty, and adding a dipping sauce like the tofu aioli was a nice touch for things like the potato wedges. I would also dip my chicken in it to give it the feel of the mayo given to you at a Peruvian chicken place. Free water glasses at the end, sometimes the spout was broken but they did put out pitchers of water, instead. Grab your utensils after paying and you're on your way. If there is no line, you could legit be in and out in 3 minutes if you have to rush back to a meeting. There is ample seating both inside and out. The patio is a nice touch and even though the place can get packed, the outside seating area had at least one or two tables free everytime I checked. Decided to try this place out because I was looking for something on the healthier side. Most of the items seem to be premade and you select what you want from behind a glass barrier. I ordered a bowl with greens, kale Caesar salad, tofu, and broccoli. The food itself had a lot of great flavors, and the tofu had a nice heat to it. However, I definitely didn't feel it was a healthy as I originally assumed. The dishes all seem to have a lot of salt or dressing on it, and everything is premade so you can't order without the sauce (ie. Can't order the kale Caesar with the Caesar dressing on the side). This review is for the Dig Farm Share box, ordered today. I was exited to order a produce box directly from Dig for same day delivery but *very* disappointed by the produce itself. First, the box contained few veggies (for instance, they say the box includes "sweet potatoes" and "onions," but they really just mean ONE sweet potato and ONE onion). Second, and more importantly, the produce was old and much of it unusable. I had to throw out half of the lettuce. The kale is already during yellow and brown, the spinach wilted and going bad. At $24, this is a hefty price for such poor product. I can't help but feel here like Dig is profiteering from the community need for produce delivery by selling unwitting consumers vegetables that they would otherwise dump. I understand the restaurant business is in a slump, and maybe this is a necessary strategy given the times, but this is a disappointment. Buyers beware. read more

Oh my! What a great find this was! My friend and I were headed to visit the Boston Public Library and I did a quick Yelp search for something healthy (we had previously been eating too much good fatty food in Boston). This place looked promising and we were definitely not disappointed. The restaurant is very modern chic with outdoor and indoor seating. They have different menu items that you build your own meal -- cafeteria style. Everything seriously looked so good that I could have sampled everything they had if that was an option. Sadly, it wasn't an option so I made my choice: Base - toasted quinoa with preserved lemon, Market Sides - grilled summer peaches and roasted summer kale, Mains - grilled organic tofu, and got a side of garlic aioli sauce and sriracha sauce. The quinoa was so flavor and refreshing with the little pieces of lemon in there. I expected the peaches to be like soft canned peaches but they were really sweet crunchy peaches (yum!!). The kale was perfect and not overly seasoned/salty. The tofu was grilled with garlic and red onions and so delicious. I really, really loved their garlic aioli and just put it on everything, and you can never go wrong with sriracha. My friend got the brown rice with grilled summer peaches and bumble bee tomatoes and the charred chicken thighs. The brown rice was very good and not at all dry. The tomatoes were soo sweet. My friend got lucky and had a good server who gave her A LOT of chicken. More chicken than rice! The chicken was juicy. This review is purely for the matcha latte. My friend recommended this place to me, so I thought I would check it out before I left Boston. This place was conveniently located right next to the Boston Public Library in a pretty popular area. This place has a nice white decor and sort of reminds me of a chipotle-style cafe. The counter where you order is located in the back and table and bar seating is located in the front. The staff here are quite friendly which is a plus although service is quite slow despite so many workers behind the counter. I wasn't really digging all the healthy food here so I thought I'd try one of the matcha lattes because it looked pretty good in the pictures. Turns out that it was a really bad idea to trust the aesthetics. The matcha latte was probably one of the worst ones I have tried. They put "milk" in there but it tasted exactly like matcha powder and cold water. I was extremely disappointed, but the drink did look pretty at least. I'm a huge fan of the fast-casual movement, as it provides choices other than fast food for lunch if you forget your brown bag and ultimately promotes healthier eating. Dig Inn is one of the first places that seemed to gain traction in Boston (now there's the Sweetgreen, Cava, Honeygrow, Minigrow, etc. etc.). It seems to be always busy (a good sign for the freshness of food being cooked but bad in the sense that the line can frequently be out the door at peak times). I always choose to customize my own bowl: they have a choice of rice, farro, or greens base. There's a variety of toppings, from sweet potato, to cauliflower to portobellos and chicken, salmon, or tofu for protein. There's a few yummy sauces to choose from; my favorite is the garlic aioli, but they'll let you get a few if you want. My gripe with this place that keeps me from loving this place is that the vegetables never seem to be fully cooked through! It's really disappointing to get brussel sprouts (that always look charred) and bite into them to find they're still partially raw inside. It's happened every time I've gone, whether it's with large pieces of cauliflower or broccoli. This combined with the fact that there's always a line makes it a place that I frequent less often. read more

Wow I am so impressed by this place... To those of you who are from or have lived in LA, Dig Inn reminded me of a blend between Lemonade and Tender Greens in a good way. The set up may seem confusing at first, but grab a menu to browse while you wait in line, and you'll be okay. Staff are also happy to explain and give recommendations. I got the miso noodles with Meyer lemon broccoli, Sicilian style cauliflower, and steak. I had originally wanted the mac and cheese but didn't see any today and the brussel sprouts but noticed they were a little on the burnt side. But, I was happy with my two sides. Both were perfectly roasted with just the right amount of seasonings. The steak was a little on the fatty side and I noticed in other Yelp pics that the doneness and cut are inconsistent, but I still enjoyed the tender and juiciness of the meat. The miso noodles were a mystery to me. At one point I liked them but then I didn't, so I'm not sure how I feel about them. I believe they are low carb and gluten free since they are made of of yams... think vermicelli or sweet potato noodles. I was expecting a flour based chow mein style noodle but this was a cold noodle salad mixed with raw brussels and cabbage and a very tiny hint of miso dressing. Would I get this again? Maybe. I'm not a fan of their other bases (brown rice, farro, or greens) as they're a little too healthy for me so the noodle is probably the best option. The amount of food definitely keeps you full for a long time so it's justified that you do have to spend a few extra dollars here compared to other fast causal places. My bowl was a little under $13. Expect to pay around $11-15 here. Also, get the sriracha sauce!!! The food is great by itself but the sriracha has that kick that brings the food to the next level. The staff member called it a dressing and they have other ones but they weren't labeled or listed on the menu so you have to ask. I love that you can see all the food right in front of you and that they constantly swap it out for fresh batches.
