I love this place. First time coming alone and I saw a hack that if you say you are alone or ask to sit at the bar, you can skip the queue. It was true. I was craving the spicy wontons but wanted to try the vegan ones. The wrapper felt thicker than wontons I have had at other Chinese restaurants. I like it when it's so thin it melts in the mouth with all the sauce. The sauce tho was so delicious. I love how sweet and a hint of spicy. I made the mistake of craving DTF spicy wonton and trying to order spicy wontons at a shop back in Santa Barbara and it pales so much compared to this one. I ate half the green beans. So delicious. I took the other half home. I love how salty, garlicky, umami it is. Perfect crunch and cooked well. Always a favorite. I did have a hard time choosing between this and the cucumber salad. Both are delicious but it's hard to order for one since theres so many good things on the menu. I was a bit disappointed in the fresh squeezed Orange juice. I am an Orange juice connoisseur and I think it should be served cold. It was cool not cold. It was also not as sweet as the fresh squeezed Orange juice from Whole Foods. I do like the pulp.
6/28/2026 KUROBUTA PORK XIAO LONG BAO I think it's safe to say that people come to DTF just for this! Came here for the XLB because it's been awhile and it never disappoints! I always eat it with a ton of ginger and black vinegar. VEGETABLE & MUSHROOM FRIED RICE This is my go-to fried rice. Usually eat this with the baby back ribs. It has a clean flavor and love the crunchy vegetables with each bite. Always comforting to eat this and love it saucy side dishes like the baby back ribs or the shrimp & kurobuta spicy wontons. SHRIMP & KUROBUTA PORK SPICY WONTONS My faves and always have to get this whenever I eat at DTF! It was deliciously spicy and juicy, love the bits of shrimp in it too. The wontons were perfectly steamed. JASMINE TEA My usual order when at DTF. Love a full hot pot of Jasmine tea all to myself! CUSTOMER SERVICE Amazing service! Prompt, attentive customer service! Great service all around from the staff! Came to DTF on a Sunday at 11:00am. Sat at the bar and although many tables were filling up, the bar seats were empty. PARKING Come through Nordstrom side to get to DTF. Parking garage is located at Nordstrom, although it gets packed really fast! There are plenty of parking right outside the parking garage as well. Accessing through the Nordstrom parking garage will make it easier to find DTF.
Din Tai Fung is solid and the xiao long baos are probably the best I've ever had. I'm not sure if the wait is worth it though. Even arriving at 10:45 on a Sunday, we had to wait an hour for a table. We had rice cakes, xiao long baos, spicy dumplings, and green beans. Everything was great and ambiance calm and inviting, not a typical dirty Chinese restaurant.
My friends and I got the spicy wontons, string beans with garlic, noodles with spicy sauce, and the chicken xiao long bao. The food is always so delicious here but the only downside is that it's a bit pricey. I definitely would recommend the spicy wontons and the string beans with garlic. Service was great! They're working pretty fast to bring out the food! The ambiance is great, somewhat dimly lit and they have plenty of seating, I would definitely recommend making reservations so that you're not stuck waiting hours for a table :,)
I made a reservation which is an awesome and they were able to accommodate a change in my party, so thank you for that Din Tai Fung! I think we got the usual items but the quality and freshness of the ingredients is still outstanding. Everything tasted amazing. I'm always glad to find they put the right amount of salt in each dish.
Okay we all know that DTF is not hurting for business since they have many locations and they are always busy. But I really want to give a shout out to our waiter JIMMY. My husband and I came here for an impromptu lunchdate since our kid was on a weekend field trip. I've been craving their dumplings for so long (we missed the downtown disney location because the waitlist was crazy long!) Jimmy went above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of. He recommended to have our VEGAN SESAME NOODLES cut in half so it would be easier to eat. We rarely had to flag him down since he consistently checked in on us. Seriously, the service at DTF is on point! Like a well-oiled machine. Punctual, courteous, good staggering of dishes. Here are our favorites: Wood ear mushrooms in vinegar dressing - don't skip this! Kurobuta Pork Xiao Long Bao Vegan dumplings - perfect little textures from bok choy, and shiitake mushrooms with a beautiful green hue from spinach juice Cod dumplings - good meaty portions String beans with garlic - omg such perfect and flavorful crunch in each bite! Vegan noodle in sesame sauce - green from spinach juice as well. Thicker sauce with some heat Thank you for a memorable lunchdate experience and thank you Jimmy for your phenomenol service!!
I always go this Santa Anita mall location whenever I'm in town and visiting with Family, this was my 4th time at this DTF location. We decided to go during non-peak hours so there was no actually no wait. There was 8 of us and were seated right away. No matter which DTF you go to the quality and consistency is always the same. We always order: Kurobuta Pork Xiao Long Bao Shrimp & Kurobuta Pork Spicy Wontons ß My personal favorite, I dream about these Wontons Braised Beef Noodle Soup String Beans with Garlic Chocolate & Mochi Xiao Long Bao (MUST EAT with the Sea Salt Cream!) First time trying: Bok Choy with Scallion-Infused Oil Fried Pork Chop- didn't care for it, nothing special about these pork chops. Service was good, location and tables were clean. Btw, if you have 6 or more then gratuity is automatically added to your bill so double check your bill when it comes.
I've been a avid DTF eater since the first location opened (and closed down). We've been going here for over 10 years at this point. The food is always amazing, every thing on the menu is delicious (they don't miss on the food). I also appreciate that you are able to join the waitlist on yelp, which I feel like a lot of places don't do anymore nowadays. Food: this is our staple for our family of 4: Pork XLB x2 Crab & Pork XLB x2 Shrimp & Pork Spicy Wontons Sautéed Green Beans Beef Noodle Soup Sweet Taro Dumplings The service is very good most of the time. I noticed when it's busy they start to slip up and forget, having to ask them a few times before we get what we requested. They give out a new set of utensils and plates for desserts which is appreciated. They also pack your leftovers for you. Our visit this time was a bit disappointing compared to my many previous visits. They don't leave the chili oil on the tables anymore so you have to request it, and when it comes the portion is super tiny, so we have to keep asking for more which makes us seem needy and places more of a strain on the workers. The size of the sweet taro dumpling has decreased in size AND we used to be able to order half of an order (5) but now we have to get a full order. The price of the food has increased over the years, and more rapidly these past couple of years, which is no problem but when the portion and size decreases while the price increases then it becomes a problem.
Scrumptious dumplings ( Steamed or pan fried) hand made at Din Tai Fung are always a joyful bite. The waitlist may be long at this busy location but the restaurant will text you approximate time to be seated. Once inside, service is efficient, friendly and attentive. It's a clean, modern restaurant on the second floor of the mall, The Shops at Santa Anita ( Arcadia). Best to park toward Nordstrom side of the mall to find an escalator to the 2nd floor.
Reservations via Yelp and it is such a lifesaver. Our server was great and the food here is always good. I love the cucumber salad and xlb here; a must. I tried the pork sticky rice and I think I have a new favorite. The shrimp fried rice was good, but not my favorite. Honestly though, whatever you get here will always be delicious.
Din Tai Fung has become a tradition for our family whenever our adult kids visit. Our daughter is home. :) We made a reservation at this location because of glasses she needed at JINS. She also wanted to shop at specific stores that are all within the Santa Anita Mall. Weekends are always so busy! You can feel the energy as soon as you walk in. We were seated in an area with a group of about fifteen 13 y/o boys who were all over the place. The adults with them did absolutely nothing to manage their disruptive behavior. We weren't concerned at first because they appeared to be finishing up. But later realized that they were not, so we had to endure them for half our lunch. Fortunately, the always delicious food and consistently amazing service made up for the torture. Along with our usuals, we tried the Sesame Buns -- YUM!! We always appreciate the wonderful service from the hostess at check in, the warm greeting from staff members on our way to be seated and the friendly expression of thanks as we walk out. Our server today was Amanda, and she was notably exceptional from beginning to end.
Excellent as always- fast service, friendly staff, clean restaurant. I was able to check in on the app about an hour prior to our estimated seating time, which was super convenient. The food came out quickly and was hot and delicious. I tried the sesame noodles for the first time and i was absolutely blown away! Will def be ordering those every time now. Cant wait to come back next time!

We've been to other Din Tai Fung but I t was our first time at this location. We went during lunch hour on a Monday and there was no wait. Andrew was our server and he was awesome. Other staff were very friendly as well. We ordered pork xiaolongbao, green bean and bokchoy dish and they all tasted good. I would definitely come back. read more
tried 3 more new items: black pepper beef tenderloin: 10/10 WOW the meat is so tender and has the perfect amount of pepper and soy sauce flavor bok choy: 8/10 a bit too soft but a great vegetable as a side wonton soup: 9/10 simple clean broth with lots of wontons. very comforting read more

We got on the waitlist approximately 2.5 hours ahead of time on a weekend for dinner via the Yelp waitlist. Once your table is almost ready, you'll get a text reminding you to check in with the host. - Wood ear mushroom: very flavorful and tastes just like a home cooked dish. The portion could be bigger though. - Pork xiao long bao: star of the show - very soupy inside! The skin is very delicate, which does indicate high quality! - Braised beef noodle soup: love the tendons - super tender! It's not that spicy but very flavorful! Noodle is very chewy! - Shrimp and pork spicy wontons: the fillings are amazing! You can taste the umami from the shrimp that's perfectly blended with pork. The sauce is at another level - have to try it for yourself! The only reason a star is docked is because of the price - pretty pricey overall and not sure if it's worth the wait every time. read more

Made reservation for 3 in advance they require a credit card to create reservations. Daughters ordered up xia ling baos u like ge crab. Wished they had white vinegar! Noodles were just ok. After a while everything tasted the same. Chicken soup, cold cucumbers were good. Garlic strubg beZbs tasted mid maybe too much oil(?) Fresh orange juice and tsing tao. Ashes fir ice cubes for our water. HD chocolate & tari dessert but added the white sweet foam cream. Four stars because they got our check mixed up with someone else's similar total but my husband asked about it. He had to wait for them to fix it! Total was about $150 read more
We came at the right time, 2pm on Friday, and got a seat immediately. The place is decorated in classic DTF style, the bar looked fun. The cucumber and tree ear appetizers were very good. My wife love the dandan noodles and spicy Sichuan dumplings. I loved the crab and pork dumplings. Overall up to the DTF standard. read more
We made a RESERVATION for 8 people at 7:30pm and we got there early at 6:30pm so we were on stand by. We were walking around the mall but, mostly staying close by Din Tai Fung in case they call us in early. We were kind of hungry so we went to grab some TATER TOTS next door and found a place to sit while waiting for a text... We didn't get a text and so they said we didn't get checked in and our table at 7:30pm was given to another party :( but, they have 2 separate tables of 4 available so we waited for that one... XLB with CRAB: STAR OF THE SHOW. These are soup dumpling so make sure you eat the whole entire dumpling other wise it can SQUIRT! ;) HAHA FRIED RICE: 9/10 We were hungry so it tasted really good. I do miss having the fried pork chops on top though... GARLIC KALE: 10/10 I really enjoyed this dish because kale is usually quite tough to eat raw and they also stir fried the kale leaves. It had a nice texture and flavor overall... POTSTICKERS: 9/10 It was good but, for some reason I think the La Jolla location makes it better... SERVICE: A+ Excellent Service by KEVIN and all the staff were very friendly, calm, cheerful and professional. The place was so chaotic and super busy! There are massive lines but, the workers still remain very professional! BRAVO to the staff. I was really impressed with the service. It looked very stressful but, no one showed it. The HEART of this place must be the service as well... AMBIANCE: 9/10 So busy! You have to watch yourself while heading to the restroom because it's easy to get run over. Love it here, I always come for the same dishes that never fail. The service is always prompt and warm. The xio long bao are the draw, juicy and flavorful. Now my absolute favorite is the garlic green beans, I could eat the whole thing myself. You must get the dessert, the chocolate mochi xio long bao with the salted sweet cream is perfect! read more

I've been to DTF lots of times now, and am no stranger to this location. It's always packed, so definitely hop into the virtual queue before arriving! Service was great as always, and it took us around 40 minutes to get a table after we started queuing around 12 pm on a Thursday. Now, I would typically give DTF 4 stars, but something about the food this time around seemed a little mid... the beans were great, no complaints there. The crab and pork XLB was honestly kinda bland, and the spicy wontons (which are my favorite DTF menu item) were good but the filling seemed a bit tough. I love that sauce though. Shortly after I finished my meal, I was super thirsty /: I'd come back, but I'm not dying to come back. read more

DTF kills it each and every time! Best Xiao Long Baos (XLBs) you'll ever have - perfectly thin wrapper that holds the meat and soup and all the goodness in! Sure, there's others in SGV that claim to be as good as DTF but they never are. It's that cliche saying - "always imitated, but never duplicated." Ambiance is wonderful for any occasion, including a casual date night. This location is closest to me so I always come here but I've been to the Glendale Galleria location and it's beautiful! It's clean and of course, the service is top-notch. Food is top-notch as well. As I've mentioned, XLBs are the best in town and nation. Seriously, when they come piping and steaming hot to your table and you see those 18-folds and make your first bite in - between careful, they squirt! Ha! Just one bite and you'll understand what I mean. We always get the classic ones and at $1.65 a pop, DTF makes it feel worth every penny. Everything on the menu is solid. I haven't ordered anything I didn't like. Dumplings, wontons, veggies, soup, noodles, rice cakes (their stir-fried rice cakes are to die for and completely wrecks my carb intake but also worth it!), dessert, drinks - all of it. Just trust me. Go crazy, be adventurous and order whatever on the menu b/c you can't go wrong. And if you have room, well, just save or make room even if you're completely stuff at the end, get the chocolate mochi XLB if you come with a bigger group! They come as an order of 6 and unfortunately, just not the same when they're not fresh. So better to be able to share among friends and family, but let me tell you, man, if you're a chocolate lover, you are in heaven! And if you don't like chocolate, this will make a chocolate lover out of you. When you take that bite, you taste buds will pick up that slightly chewy texture from the thin layer of mochi under the wrapper and then the magic happens - that melted rich chocolate oozes out and hits you like a dream! Definitely not my first time here...but definitely my first time having a gluten free experience- and it didn't disappoint!! We got: Soy noodles (nice and light starter) Bok Choi (a tad bland for my palate) Green beans (of course!) Cucumbers (yesss please) Cabbage (good, nicely prepared) Shrimp fried rice (star of the show!! ) Service is always phenomenal. Beautiful location inside the Santa Anita mall! read more

Din Tai Fung Arcadia, CA Date went: 12/13/25 (Saturday) Time we made in person reservation: 1:27pm Time we sat down at our table: 2:50pm (1 hour and 23 minute wait) Order to Table wait time: We ordered our food at 2:57pm We ordered 5 items total ( 2 items, 2 main dishes, and 1 dessert) Our appetizers came 5 MINUTES AFTER WE ORDERED! Our main dish items came 7 and 11 MINUTES AFTER WE ORDERED! This is quite possibly the fastest food to table time I've been at any restaurant. My boyfriend and I were thoroughly impressed with how little time it took to get our food. I FELL IN LOVE WITH THESE RIBS, and I always dream about these ribs. This Shanghainese appetizer has a divine house made sweet and sour sauce. Although the ribs are tiny in size, the taste is powerful and leaves you with wanting more. I can't share these with my boyfriend, we both need our own plate. These are a must every-time we come here. SHRIMP & KUROBUTA PORK POT STICKERS: 8/10 I've not fond of the xiao long bao because I feel like I make a mess when I eat them, so we went for the pot stickers this time. They did not disappoint, these crispy, pan-fried dumplings are filled with Kurobuta pork and fresh shrimp and I don't feel unhealthy or messy when eating these. NOODLES W/ DICED BEEF & SZECHUAN PEPPERS: 7/10; These thin egg noodles are topped with a spicy and herbaceous mixture of diced Angus chuck roast, tomato, beancurd, whole edamame, sliced cucumber, fresh cilantro, and Szechuan peppers. I'm a big baby when it comes to spice, so these made my mouth tingle a bit too much. They were nice to try but I will not order again due to tastebud preferences not because the dish itself is bad. SHAVED SNOW WITH FRESH MANGO: 8.5/10; This dessert is new to Din Tai Fungs menu and boy oh boy does this soft, fluffy shaved snow made with whole milk, crowned with fresh mango and a drizzle of our signature sweet & tart mango sauce and creamy condensed milk hit the spot!! After our appetizer and two main dishes, our stomachs were feeling quite full and a bit heavy. I think this new dish perfectly compliments all the yummy heavy hitter dishes on the menu. We ended off with this light,PERFECTLY TEXTURED, and absolutely deliciously dessert. Great new addition to the menu and highly recommend you get it. Atmosphere: Although busy on the inside, the atmosphere of this specific location feels very personal when sitting at a table for two. Shoutout to our waiter, Diana, she was so sweet, professional, and consistently waited our table. She also kindly offered to pack up our leftovers for us. Overall, If you want delicious food, fast service, professional staff, and an overall great experience I recommend this Din Tai Fung located in Arcadia. It's definitely worth the wait. Despite my food ratings not being 9's or 10's, I'm still eating this location 5 stars because of the overall experience. I can't wait to come back and try new dishes! read more

Where can I drop off a handicapped person?
At the Nordstrom entrance. It's on the same level as DTF and an easy walk through. DTF is literally right outside the entrance of Nordstrom in the mall.

Is it okay to dine alone and do I need to make a reservation or does it have only a short wait?
It is totally o.k. to dine alone there. I have walked in spur of the moment so many times. Sometimes they will direct you to sit at the bar which is nice with good service. You can also ask for a table. I have never made a reservation there.
Can I bring a cake for a birthday?
I don't see why you couldn't. Unless it needed to be refrigerated, I highly doubt they will store it for you. But you could always call and ask.
I want to have my bday there but it's for a party of ten, so I can't make reservations. I know Saturday is busy but what are my options for getting a table for 10 on a Saturday lunch or dinner? How long would the wait be?

Do you need a reservation in order to eat here or is walk in okay?
I would definitely recommend a reservation! Unless you are also going to shop, then you are fine with walk-in. When I walk-in the wait is usually 60-90 mins! They text you when your table is ready.
What's the best or preferred time/day to come in with little to no wait?
The best time is during lunch. Also, best days are during the week.
