They always follow my request and the drinks and boba come out good every time. I can definitely taste more tea flavor and the boba has the right chewy texture at this location versus other ding tea locations. There is rarely a line when I come and my drinks are made quickly. Came here for a boba and they were having a special of buy two get one free. We couldn't pass up on the free boba and got a third (even though it was only two of us). Though when we placed our order, the girl at the cash register didn't bother asking what we wanted as a third drink. I had to ask about the promo.. No one knows about this place even though It's hidden in plain sight, but this little tea place lives in the shadows of Zankou Chicken, a popular foodie destination. There are bright colors inside. Bright enough to see from the streets. There are fancy looking furniture inside and there's games for visitors to play with. The tea baristas are always nice and they remember faces too. I frequent this location often since it is near where I work and this is the first time I received my drink half filled like this. I usually order mine with no ice and it has always been filled up. Wished they notified their customers of this change so I can make my own decision of what to order. I used to order the winter melon milk tea here and when asked to adjust the sweetness, sometimes they'll greet me with a "sorry, can't adjust the sweetness" or they'll say "ok" and I end up with a cup full of sugar anyway. This does not happen at other locations. So I stopped ordering it here and get it when I go to other locations. I'll be back some day, just gotta take a break for a while. First off I have worked at Tastea and Cha for tea for a few years so I am familiar with the whole boba scene. Reasons why I am disappointed with my drink - Asked for regular sweetness and the drink wasn't even sweetened at all. I had to sweeten the drink myself when I got home. - Asked for rainbow jelly but instead they had 5 bits of rainbow jelly and mixed in a whole scoop of lychee jelly!! I understand that you can run out of certain toppings but I was literally outside, they could have just informed me and I would have chosen something else. Did they think I wouldn't have tasted the lychee jelly? I literally poured out my drink into a bowl and scooped out all the lychee jelly as shown in the attached photo. And basically remade my drink. Came here on a random evening and it was pretty slow for the most part. This was probably the nicest Ding Tea location i've ever been to. Reasons why, They have two nice photo backgrounds. For those who "do it for the IG". They have a gaming corning which is nice for those who like to chill with their friends. Also enough space to study and drink their tea at the tables. This is the worst Ding Tea I've ever been to. My first time. I came in on Thursday afternoon at 5:30p, no line. I asked for my usual at Ding Tea. Hot oolong milk tea, no sugar, with boba. The server was nice enough, but he paused in the middle of my order and said, "hmm.. we make the tea in the morning, so I'm not sure how hot it is right now." He went to get a sample from the thermos, felt it, and said "oh, it's still pretty hot." My order was ready within 30 seconds of me paying, which is fine since there were 3 people working and no one else there. So the drink was lukewarm at best, oolong flavor was super light, and boba was gross. It tasted old. I've never had a problem ordering a hot drink at Ding Tea, so I'm a little turned off by the fact the server made it seem difficult given the time of day the tea was prepared. I've been here 3 times and I each time I have ordered a different drink. I have been impressed each and every time. The staff is super friendly. I always ask what they recommend and they're really patient and helpful. On my first visit, I got their Passionfruit Green Tea upon recommendation. Okay, before I get to the drink, THE BOBA IS GOLD COLORED. I was like woaaaah. Okay, anyway, I took a sip and BAM. Awesome tea. Whenever I eat or drink something that is really good, I smile and chuckle. This is exactly what happened after my first sip. On my second visit, I ordered the Strawberry Yakult drink also upon recommendation from the employees. Side note: I had never had Yakult by itself. My cousins always drank it when I was little but I never got to try it. OK BACK TO THE DRINK. I was a little excited because I was finally going to experience the Yakult taste. The cup it came in was awesome btw. It wasn't like those plastic see-through cups for the other drinks. This cup had a cool texture and design. Anyway, I took a sip, and same thing happened. I smiled and laughed a bit. It was very good. I still prefer the Passionfruit Green Tea over the Strawberry Yakult drink because I prefer teas. Still good though! On my 3rd visit, I couldn't decide whether to get the Thai Tea Latte or the Hokkaido Coffee. I asked the employee what Hokkaido Coffee tasted like and she said it had a caramel flavor to it. I was sold on that and got the large. With golden boba. Man, this coffee was fantastic. If I had to choose between the Passionfruit Green Tea, Strawberry Yakult, or the Hokkaido coffee, I would go with the Hokkaido Coffee. Such a delicious drink. The only thing I would change about the Hokkaido coffee is I'd make it colder. It felt close to room temp when I got it and I honestly don't know if it's supposed to be cold or not. But yeah. 10/10. The most conflicted 3 star review I've given. For starters... I love ding tea milk tea for its freshness and not overly sweet (compared to other places) and their popcorn chicken as a nice little snack. So to start... ding tea is generally a great place for our fam to get some quick treats. Lately I've had some work that ends at 8pm an hour before ding tea closes and about a month or so ago, I came in at 8:45pm hoping to order milk tea and popcorn chicken after my shift only to find out that the kitchen was closed. Bummer. But I shrugged it off because, I kinda get it... the earlier the kitchen closes, the earlier you can clean it, and the earlier you can get home. So I left it at that. Yesterday I went over to ding tea in hopes that ordering around 8:25 would garner slightly more favorable results... when I was at the register, I gave my order and started with popcorn chicken... the worker looked like she was thinking about saying 'no' but then said, 'ok, anything else?' **BOOM** in my mind, I was happy that I got it in time before the kitchen closed... so then I proceeded to order a couple of milk teas for my wife and I and then after I completed my order, the worker then said, 'actually, our kitchen is closed right now.' Zankou, Sarkis and now boba in the same shopping center. (let alone, right next to each other!) This strip mall is like a mini food paradise for the wife and I. Having just polished off a plate of Chicken Kabobs and Falafels, followed by a few pieces of Baklava from Sarkis I was ready for something to wash it all down with. Ding Tea is a popular boba spot located by my work in HB. I have never been there but I do know of plenty of people who have and they all have told me that it is pretty solid. Solid is a good word to use as it is not the best, but above average for sure. My go to at any new boba spot is Honey Green Tea, as it really is hard to mess up. Ding's version is great! Not too sweet, not too watery and the golden boba was great as well. The golden boba seemed to have about half the sweetness of normal boba and played well with the drink itself. Check it out! At first I thought this was a strange location but I guess they're catering to the high school kids next door and that there isn't competition for at least a 5 mile radius. And lots of parking! The interior design is really nice with hand-painted leaves and swirly cursive writing. It also has a retro arcade game on the TV and about 3 tables to sit at. Gladly they're reinforcing the use of mask inside the location and limited number of people in are allowed. No seating available so you place your order and wait outside.
