A local friend suggested this place. It is slightly hidden on the side of the building. I think some call it the Creekside Cafe and Casa Alvarez. Apparently due to some ownership changes over the last few years. We stopped in for breakfast...I had a pancake combo (w/blueberries)...which included eggs, sausage & juice. Plenty to eat and pretty darn good. I definitely recommend you try this place! Parking is on the street and it can be a bit of a pain to find a spot...but is worth it. read more

I work in the service industry so I completely understand bad days but I have never experienced this amount of disrespect than I did from multiple waitresses there. They were rude the minute we walked in and we could hear them talking bad about us for ordering waters instead of coffee or juice, when we got our food the waitress slammed my plate on the table and went and continued to talk badly about us. They were also super nice to every other table but ours. The food was great but the service was terrible, will not be going back due to the rudeness that was in no way provoked. read more

What happened to this place? It used to be my husbands and I's favorite place. Food quality was cheap, portions were small, and way over priced. Service was horrendously slow and essentially non existent. Would not recommend! Such a shame it feels like it changed ownership/hands. read more

We're here about once a week for our lunch break. The quick and friendly service is unbeatable. I've never sat in the front room, just in the back part that is a Mexican restaurant at night. It's the same menu though. I love any breakfast entree that has a Mexican twist on it. The chilaquiles, cilantro omelette special, etc are so packed full of flavor. I always get the corn tortillas and their refried beans which are so good I had to ask where they got them from. They're homemade. Sometimes I feel like something healthier, so I go with their salads. They are fresh and full of toppings. I haven't had anything I don't like here. The back room overlooks Granite Creek so it's a nice little view. The location is just off the plaza but it's so worth the short walk. When I see people lined up at the breakfast place on the plaza, I pity them for choosing that place instead of the Dinner Bell. read more

We were standing outside deciding if we want to try this place for lunch. A nice lady came out and introduced herself as the owner and invited us in promising that we won't be disappointed. She was right. Food is good and the service is great. Everything here is fresh and local. I ordered a salad with grilled chicken. Pecans, and green apples, her recommendation. It was delicious. My friend ordered the ham and cheese sandwich with french fries, and that was yummy too. They make their own iced tea and lemonade and they were both yummy. This is a great place for breakfast and lunch in Prescott, AZ. read more

This place is amazing. Family of four - huevos rancheros, cilantro scramble, coffee - all excellent and fresh. Unlike a lot of Mexican food, this places' food "sits well". Super cute space with a great patio. My biscuits and gravy were cold - I asked them to heat it up, they added warm gravy on top so the bottom half of the dish was still cold. My husband's hash browns were extra crispy per his request but also cold. Someone came through, topped off my husband's coffee, said they would be back to refill mine and never returned. They charged the ladies next to us for our meal. The biscuits were fluffy and delicious. It seemed like they were just under-staffed. Maybe the holiday weekend was rough on their business. I have brunch here almost every weekend. It can get pretty crowded, NTL, really good food. Great atmosphere.

Now during restaurant restrictions, this is my favorite place for breakfast. I like eating in the back part, going around the side by the stream. You can eat on the outside patio in good weather. The atmosphere is laid back and feels normal. I love their southwest omelette. 3 eggs with country potatoes. Service is good. Nice reasonably priced menu. Give it a try. We've eaten breakfast here a handful of times when we've come to visit family in Prescott. The food is good but the restaurant and seating environment in the back is way too cramped and the service is kinda slow. We were in Prescott for 4 July and because the fireworks had been canceled there were not big crowds. This frankly made Prescott much more enjoyable for a big holiday. We were at Sharlotte's Hall Museum (which I highly recommend) and we asked for a recommendation for lunch. They unequivocally recommended two places, El Gato Azul and the Dinner Bell. We walked about a block and 1/2 to El Gato Azul and found it closed for the holiday. So we walked the block and 1/2 back to the museum and then another block and 1/2 east to the Dinner Bell. I consider it very fortunate that the other one was closed. We did go there the next day and it was too busy to get into. In most cases we find good restaurants typically play much loud music, their food is frequently not what they advertise, and service is usually considerably overdone. At the dinner bell we found a nice quiet environment, a comfortable booth, lots of local people eating there, a knowledgeable and wonderful waitress, and meals that we both enjoyed. I have noticed that some people are reviewing this saying the food was just so-so. I will tell you that this is not fine dining this is a nice local place that serves much more than acceptable food at great prices. We ate there twice while we are in Prescott I was happy with everything I got each time. I would comment that the coffee could have been a little hotter but it was not cold and they kept my cup filled. If you live in Scottsdale, or travel here from Northern California, and expect to find some restaurant pretending to be a trendy local watering hole, you will be disappointed. If however you are looking for a comfortable place to have lunch, or breakfast, populated by people you can actually talk to in the next booth, and wait staff who pay attention, you will enjoy yourself and have a wonderful meal. It is located just off the main square in Prescott which gives you access to everything that the tourists love to see. That means you can go here, eat, and still enjoy Sam Steiger's famous crosswalk (yes, take the time to ask about it) and stumble in and out of some of the more famous drinking spots on Whiskey Row. read more

I love this place. I know, I know. Five stars seems like a lot for a small diner. But there's a lot packed in there. First, the food is great. But also, there's the fact that it is right on the creek and only a couple of blocks from the courthouse. Additionally, there are two different rooms in which to dine. The front looks like your typical diner. The back, though, caters to Prescott's more earthy/ granola culture. Both places are comfortable and welcoming. Stopped here after a recommendation from some locals. It's definitely a locals place. We loved it. Sat down and our waitress was right there to give us menus and take our drink orders. I ordered hot tea and she brought out a basket of every flavor you could want. Ordered our food, I got the Chorizo scramble. Eggs, onions, peppers and plenty of chorizo with tortillas. Also came with hash browns. Nice and crisp on the outside and moist on the inside. My wife ordered a Belgian Waffle and a side of bacon. Our waitress recommended getting the special which included two eggs but cheaper. Her was was light and fluffy and the bacon was nice and crisp. Gone here for several years for their eggs benidect however this last weekend will be my last. Like so many other restaurants they changed their recipes. Now the hollandaise sauce instead of being a nice yellow color looks like baby diarrhea ( very unappetizing to look at) The biscuits and gravy that once was the size of your head is now a shell of itself, very small. This place has a great breakfast menu. My Spanish omelette was so good I could have eaten 6 of them.

BEST breakfast I have EVER had! The bacon was very much like it was just cooked over a camp fire (yum!) and the waffle.... oh the waffle! By the time I was done, there wasn't a single morsel on my plate and if I had the ability, I would have ordered more! I will absolutely come again to see what other yummies they have! Went here with the boyfriend. Ordered the chorizo scramble with home potatoes which I embarrassingly finished at breakfast despite it being big enough to feed a small village so you know it was good! He loved the cinnamon bun french toast. The bite I had was way too sweet after eating my meal but I can see what is to like. About $10 a person and delicious. read more

This was the worst dining experience I've never had. We went to the Dinner Bell, right when we walk in the guy seating people looked at us like we were an inconvenience to him and just walked away. Came up to us 5 minutes later and told us to put our name on the list and wait outside; we did.. He came out to get us and seat us at our table in the patio, which is right next to their bus tub counter .. Hard to get an appetite while smelling old food and dirty dishes literally 12 inches from your head. Waited for 10 minutes before someone came to take our water order and tell us someone will be out to take our drink order. I asked her if she could move the bus tubs, to which she replied "i have nowhere else to put them".. (like right behind my head should even be an option) I asked her to at least dump it, knowing I'm not gonna get anywhere with this lady ... she had that same guy come and dump it, which he wasn't happy about. Finally 25 minutes after we arrived someone came to take our drink order. We put in our whole order. As we're waiting, that same guy came outside bussed some tables and put the dirty dishes behind my head again. After sitting there for another 5 min smelling the dirty dishes and leftover food, I asked him if we can just move tables. He dismissively pointed and said we can move to the one in the back; we did.. still haven't gotten our drinks we ordered, now having been there for about 40 minutes and the table next to us, that arrived 15 minutes after us got their drink order, which was the same as ours .. this was the final straw, I told them to cancel our order and we left. I had eaten here many times before and had great service. I have never been compelled to leave a bad review online, but this was absolutely unacceptable and I will never go back to this place, nor would I ever suggest anybody go here. read more

The Dinner Bell Café in Prescott, Arizona is touted as one of the best local eateries for breakfast and lunch. I recently tried it a second time and was as disappointed as I was the first time. Patio creekside dining is offered but I can't comment on that amenity since I didn't take a look-see. I ordered the two egg breakfast with hash browns and a biscuit. Nothing fancy there. Although the potatoes didn't look greasy, there was definitely a grease-textured aftertaste. The biscuit, while quite large, didn't seem completely "done" inside. No complaint on the easy-over eggs. My partner ordered a menu "special" - pancakes, scrambled eggs and bacon. His comment was that the pancakes at Denny's were better. Another caveat is that they don't take credit cards - but you will notice an ATM machine at the rear of the dining room read more
