Another day another Dion's. What really can I say other than this place is just as good as all of the other Dions in the city. Excellent service and excellent food. The best part is that it is all at an affordable price. I have been frequenting this location now for almost 2 months for lunch. I will say that it gets really packed around noon so it is best to call your order in ahead of time or get there early as space fills up and orders take longer. Amazingly good pizza, every year we come to town for Balloon Fiesta and we treat our balloon's crew to Dion's pizza for one of the balloon glows! This year we had both the thin and thick crust, and they were both great! Also have to pick up a bottle of Green Chile Ranch for back home! I went to eat here for lunch there was 2 flies circling me & my food, so i moved tables just to sit at a table that had ANTS. yes ANTS. i sat on them they were all over the table and the seat. i sat up once i realized i grabbed my food & told a worker. they literally did nothing about it. it took 15 minutes for someone to even take a look at the table that was infested. i was disgusted i felt like i had ants on me, i was disappointed because I LOVE Dion's but i had an awful experience at this location. i felt like the staff didn't care about the situation. read more

Dion's is a staple for Burquenos! The food is consistent (which is really important to me). Take your pick...salads, sandwiches, pizza...they are all delicious!! The pizzas are always cooked perfectly with plenty of toppings and crisp crust. The sandwiches are sooo good. My favorite is the turkey and Swiss. The gourmet chicken salad is yummy with raspberry dressing..as is the crunchy spinach salad. It has edamame and mozzarella. The newest craze is the green chile ranch dressing. We always have good experiences at Dion's no matter where we are but not tonight. Place an order for pizza and salad, let the staff know we had guests visiting and one of them has Gluten allergies to please keep the croutons separated from the family salad. When went to pick the dinner they had croutons inside the salad. When told them that we ordered the salad with croutons on the side they took it back and take out the croutons. We never got the croutons for rest of our guests. It's sad because I directly spoke with a MGR on duty by the of Cash but our order was still done incorrectly. I would have been ok with these type of concern but our gusts were from out of state and they were looking forward for having Dion's pizza salad tonight. Jorge, Thanks for your reaching out. If you're looking for an amazing pizza, look no further than Dion's. Here in Albuquerque, it's a staple for many folks. I have never come across anything I didn't like here. I recently ordered a Turkey and Swiss sandwich that was absolutely incredible! The baguette had a nice crunch, there was plenty of meat and cheese, as well as a good balance of veggies. Dipping the sandwich in their homemade Greek dressing just added another level of flavor to the sandwich, it was awesome! They specialize in pizzas, but they also have incredible sandwiches, salads, and desserts. All there dressings are made in house, and there Ranch is one of the best I've ever had. There's several locations throughout the metro, you just can't go wrong with Dion's. read more

Most of our family enjoys Dions. Those that don't, are frustrated that Dions does not offer a gluten free pizza (like Papa Murphys). Half our family, at our last visit to Dions, did not eat. Salad was more an appetizer for this crowd, that wanted pizza. We called Dions Corporate Office and were left no real answer to our request. Just wanted to mention the take home pizza kits...since we like red wine with our pizzas that we create at home with all of Dion's awesome toppings, including the dough. We have traveled throughout Italy, (Venice, Milan and Florence) so it was nice to know we could re-create the flavors at home and make thin crust pizzas well done, it's a personal preference, but I didn't know you could actually order thin crust well done when dining in! Living so close to this location, we go a lot. In the past they have been so nice over the phone and always get our orders right. The last time they forgot to give us one of our pizzas and sauce for a sandwich. We let it slide, mistakes happen. Then today, another phone order, I order a sub asking for no mushrooms or olives. When the order was read back to me, it was right. I pick up the order and when we open up the subs at home, the one that we ordered with no mushrooms and olives had... You guessed it mushrooms and olives. But it doesn't stop there, the meatball sub had mushrooms and olives too! Like that's not even supposed to be in that sub. Like I said before I always come to Dion's when I'm in Albuquerque . I love the salads and subs and like most of the people in Abq I'm addicted to the salad dressing. So needless to say, I was disappointed when I opened my sub and there was no Greek dressing! Gasp! Lol ! Since I don't live here I called and asked if they no longer give you Greek dressing with the subs ? I was told by the manager Zack ( hope I spelled that right) that yes they do and asked if I could come back and offered me a free sub! If you're looking for a casual, family friendly restaurant with excellent service and delicious food then look no further - Dion's is your spot. The stores are mostly staffed by teenagers & maybe the occasional college student. Now, with that mix one might worry about the service but, let me allay that fear right now. Having been a Dion's addict since I was a teenager myself & I don't think I've *ever* had a bad experience here (regardless of the location). The few times things weren't exactly to our liking we brought it to the attention of a manager who made sure it was quickly corrected along with sincere & profuse apologies for the mistake. They take their service as serious as they take their food. Speaking of food... They mix & make their own (pizza) dough every day, the bread for the sandwiches is also brought in fresh every morning as are all pizza toppings, salad & sandwich fixings (Dion's has their own commissary). The menu has a diverse variety of sandwiches, salads & pizzas guaranteed to satisfy everyone from the pickiest of eaters (super yummy cheese or pepperoni pizza anyone?) to the diner with more refined sensibilities (they have smaller specialty pizzas as well). The sandwiches are served warm (they run them through a small oven on a conveyor belt) on your choice of a traditional white or wheat bread bun & are available both in the 6" & 10" variety. They offer pastrami, turkey, ham & roast beef as well as vegetarian sandwiches. Each sandwich is topped either with provolone, cheddar or swiss cheese & while their menu preselects the pairings for you, I change things up all the time & have never been disappointed. Their salads come in 1/2, full & family sizes & all include what they refer to as their "mix" which is just diced cucumbers, bell peppers & onions sliced & mixed together fresh every morning. The salads the gambit from a simple tossed salad to a more exotic Greek (black olives & feta cheese) salad. They also offer more standard selections in the form of a ranch salad (pastrami & shredded provolone cheese), a chef salad (ham & shredded cheddar cheese) & a turkey salad (which I believe has turkey & shredded provolone cheese). And last, but most certainly not least, the pizza... Oh, my, god, the pizza! As a self processed pizza junkie I could wax poetic for days about the pizza. Available by the slice & as whole pies the pizza is wonderful. My 8 year old likes hers with pineapple, black olives & pepperoni (yeah she's got weird taste but really, what do you expect from an 8 year old?), but myself I prefer the Dion's special. The special includes Italian sausage, ground beef, pepperoni, black olives, (red) onions, & (sliced) mushrooms & green chile. Loaded onto the pizza for the perfect combination of yummy goodness their special is something all NM pizzas aspire to be like. Have passed by here numerous times and decided tonite the net to stop in. It reminded me of the pizza place I used to go to after my HS football games. While many places have moved away from pizza ovens in favor of more consistent, repeatable baking - Dion's has not. Quality pizza making is an art: tossing or stretching the dough, just the right amounts of sauce and ingredients and finally the baking. While my preference is wood fired, oven baked is a close 2nd. Corn meal on the oven floor to prevent sticking and brown crisp bottom, not soggy. My experience here told me Dion's nailed it. We got a medium half Hawaiian and half carnivore. Pizza baked right, not soggy on the Hawaiian side, browned crust - Yep, that's it. One thing I noticed at this location - I haven't been to others so I can't speak to them, but there is a set of steps in the topping/oven area so kids can watch the pizza's being made. I've been eating here since I was between 11 or 12 when we went to go visit my grandma here in ABQ and now every time I come here to visit my grandma I always have to come here and get some pizza. my grandma passed away in January now me and my fiance and brother live in her house and we try to make it a tradition to buy Dion's Pizza once a month. I love their pizza but I do not want to get fat. they are nice we haven't met a rude employee just yet hopefully they keep going because I know we're in a pandemic right now but if they or the manager here is reading this tell your employees to keep up the good work. Dions is a great place to get good priced food but over the years their customer service has gone to literally having some of the worst experiences at a restaurant. Spoke to a guy named Daniel for a call in order and he was super super rude, rushed me off the phone, didn't repeat back my order and just sounded like he was mad. I had another experience with a girl at drive thru. Have been coming here for years but coming here now is like so annoying dealing with such rude people that honestly seem like they hate what they do. I am new in town and was brought here by a friend. I am glad I was introduced to Dion's. The pizza is pretty good and consistent - try the 505 with pepperoni and hatch green chili's. The subs are great and priced well. Service is good- you order at the counter and it seems that it moves relatively fast. Back to the pizza- it's not the best ever but is great for the price. I know some of the locals that grew up on the pizza will be bothered that I would give it 5 stars.......but I am not local and have lived in multiple states. I like the pizza and will be a regular for the pizza and he subs. The subs are even better than the pizza! Great spot and better than all the national pizza chains! read more
