Over the course of the last two years traveling to Albuquerque I've been to Dion's a handful of times. Mostly for lunch during hour long breaks during all day meetings. A few things that always stand out during our visits - its controlled chaos during rush hour (I still don't know how more people don't complain given the confusion that sometimes exists) and the servings are MASSIVE. Overall, the food is good and the staff somehow manage to keep everything under control - mad props for that. Of course, as some have previously mentioned, during rush hour things are slow. Which normally wouldn't be a huge deal, but when you only have an hour and there's about a 10 minute commute back...it's not great to wait 20 min before you even get your food. I wish they had more seating; as most of the time it's a struggle to get tables/seating for our large-ish parties. read more

At Dion's you will find a crust that is thicker than a New York style thin crust, probably twice as thick as the typical New York style pie. It is however, thinner than a typical Chicago style crust. Probably more than half again thinner. Albuquerque is not halfway between Chicago and New York so this proportional relationship does not extend to geographical location, it seems to be limited to Dion's pizza crust. Dion's pizza is pretty good and tastes like it is made with quality ingredients. We picked up several and I tried a slice of pepperoni and a slice of sausage. Good and the pepperoni was not overly greasy. The sausage was a pretty bland version of Italian sausage. read more

i ordered my pizza and salad. pick up time was 4:23p today, i got my food at 5p and the pizza was stone mother trucking cold. the employee who brought it to my car stated as a matter of fact that my pizza had just come out of the oven when i know that that was 100% not forking true. the lady at the window when told me that my pizza was ready but waiting on your salad. this is total bs and pissed me off even more after waiting almost 40mins after the time it should have been ready. i do not recommend this dions. it wasnt even that busy compared to other times ive gone and my order managed to come out on time and not mother forking cold and gross. read more

This location moved down the street from the Elizabeth location (I also still remember the Four Hills location. It was the best. Getting a slice of pizza and a movie? Priceless). But, one fine little detail that was overlooked was the small size of the parking lot- most of the time parking on the street due to the traffic from the base (weekends aren't usually as crazy). This place just CAN NOT GET the salad order correct, ordered a lg pizza, sandwich and three different salads. I do believe the let a monkey loose on the salads because the pecans ordered for the tossed salad were on the Greek salad. The hold the croutons for a tossed salad were also left off the Greek salad. One salad had a napkin wedged under the lid which fell off and made a big mess in my car. Come on guys. I will never order another salad from Dions again! Never read more

Visited this location today, Sunday 9/15 at approximately 6:00 pm. Ordered a pizza and salads for husband and I. Salads were very good and fresh greens. Pizza came out and did not have the extra cheese we ordered. I took it back to counter and stood there for several minutes and no one to assist. There were two young ladies with their back to me reviewing receipts, I did my best to get their attention to no avail, they didn't even turn around the entire time they stood there. I called out "Helllloo" and "miss...", not a single acknowledgment from either one. Finally, I walked over to the cash registers and someone walked over and I told them the problem with our pizza. Pizza was okay, not spectacular, just fair. We had some leftover so I walked up to the counter again for a box and again, I stood there for a while, even though there were quite a few people behind the counter. One young man came up and brought me a box. What really surprised me is that he didn't volunteer to place the pizza in the box for me. He just handed the box and asked if the pizza was going to fit in it. He could see that I was having a hard time putting the slices in the box, but not once did he volunteer to help out!! What bad experience in this place. Bad service and all young generation employees. What a shame!!! This Economy is the pits. What normally is the best pizza turned into a tacky tasteless cardboard of a meal. The cheese had no flavor the vegetables were so thin they had no flavor and I asked for pepperoni on 1/2 but only received maybe 6 slices. Compared to other Dions, this location is greatly lacking. Anytime I visit this location, there's SOMETHING wrong with my order. It's the closest to my home, however, so I usually choose to take a gamble when I come here. I usually order salads or subs. On this particular to go order, I ordered a family size turkey salad. I always like getting my croutons on the side so they don't get soggy in the salad and of course, extra Dions mix! It just so happened my extra Dions mix and croutons were not given to me. This has happened at least 3 other times. As you can see in my posted pictures, there was an entire lettuce core in the salad and a huge chunk of cheese that no one bothered to grate. After finishing the lettuce core with the disgusting black mass on it (mold?) I immediately threw away the salad away. It appears as though this location doesn't care about their presentation. When I order subs, there's often lettuce spread throughout the box, making the chips soggy, or the contents only halfway inside the sandwich, making the bread to contents ratio off. I absolutely love Dions, but this location is always a disappointment. I'll most likely not visit as often, or drive the extra distance to another location. read more

Ordered here tonight and got home and opened the pizza box to a horribly under-cooked, soggy pizza. Literally so undercooked that I had to throw it in my own oven. I understand it was a bit busy but I feel like they could of kept my pizza cooking for at LEAST a little more time. Had a really bad experience last night with this location. I ordered a family size salad specifically with no croutons because we are gluten sensitive. The worker on the phone read what I ordered back correctly, but when we went through the drive through and picked up the order, there was croutons all over it. No big deal - they gave us free drinks and said they would make it over and use gloves and everything. So we pick up the remade order, and it looks correct when we drive off. As soon as we get home and start eating we realize all they did was take the croutons off the top. No remaking or anything. There were croutons all over the place. This could have been a serious health issue. Not happy at all and so not professional. read more

Ordered a Call-in order only to be disappointed picking up. The workers were just doing there jobs with smiles, but they forget to put fucking dressings in the bag if you ordered them. Plus, they made a mistake by putting katamala olives in the Greek dressing other than black olives, talk about gross. Why did they change it? Called back to the location and the manager was NO help. She just told me to don't forget it next time, instead of working with me for my lost dressings I paid for and a trade of salad with black olives like the menu was originally been before having a salty, undelightful salad. I have been eating at Dino's ever since I first came to New Mexico way back in 1988. Dion's pizza is ALWAYS a treat. I love getting a large pepperoni pizza with extra cheese and green chili. If you're looking for something on the healthier side, try one of their salads. They have Chef's Salad, Ranch Salad and Greek Salad(or more, they may have expanded the menu since I was last there). Their salads are absolutely divine and their dressings are out of this world delicious. Dion's has always made quality food and to this day they still do just that. read more

TBH this location fails. Food is still prime, so stars for good pizza. But ordering on the phone told to wait the 30 minutes and then making us wait up to an hour for one pizza is crazy! Legitimately not the first time this happens, we keep coming back because we like the food but the service and timing is awful these days. They made us pull out of the drive through into the parking lot so someone can come and give us the food because of course it wasn't ready. They brought us a pizza with no plates, napkins or cheese so that was lame. The time before we ordered online they completely forgot our order and made us wait in the parking lot forever. Love Dion's! Growing up with Dion's and living away from NM, you learn to appreciate what you've got. As a child I used to watch the pizza makers from the little kids area they provide and now my kids do the same. I love how you can walk into Dion's order a slice of pizza or whatever your heart desires and it's usually ready within 15-20 minutes. The atmosphere is classic. My family always goes for a pizza - usually the Dion's special and we love the Chef salad with a side of cheese toast and a pitcher of Cherry Coke. This time I ventured in solo and tried the meatball sub, which I've been eyeing for a while and it was amazing. None of that subway crap here, you should definitely try this at least once! Every Dion's I've been to in town, has a surprisingly young staff - that said, they are on top of their game and have probably some of the BEST customer service I have ever received, so props to the training staff. Love the food but the peaks times for lunch or dinner can be frustrating to wait in line. Also the noise level can get loud and difficult to heard your named called when order is ready. I mostly just order take out and use the drive up. It is usually a much quicker stop. The parking lot fills up quickly at lunch so street parking because a must. While this is not the best pizza or sub place in ABQ it is a good meal at a decent price. My favs: 1) chef salad 2) margarita pizza Tip: All subs are served with side of Greek dressing. An Albuquerque staple. I have been going to Dion's before I can remember. If you grew up in ABQ like I did, you may have even gone there on a field trip, watched how they made pizza from that wooden platform that has the bar to keep adults out and pressed your hands against that plexiglass in amazement, and even got a T-shirt (I see those [eye] [heart] Dion's ones every now and then at thrift stores) This pizza is the tops. It is not one that I would classify as Chicago- or New York-style. It is truly New Mexican. It's perfect groups because you can share a big pizza or you can every-man-for-themselves it and choose between any combination of pizzas, subs, or salads. One of the great things about Dion's is you can order online ahead of time (or even while stuck in traffic) and they can have it great for you to dine-in or pick up at a specific time. It's great to order from work and pick it up on the way home - even if the smell of fresh pizza makes the ride seem so much longer. read more

Today is a sad day to give them a one star. I'm sure the rating is for this specific location and store. The pizza seemed cold, with the sauce and cheese baked over. It's almost as if they gave us a old pizza that was a ordered extra or just plainly mishandled. Trying to squeeze in lunch between a visit to the Nuclear Science Museum and a customer meeting meant we needed to get something fast, but not compromise taste by going to a Micky D's or BK. Dion's Pizza came up on on my Yelp app search as the best option, so we headed here. After contemplating the many options they offer and being forced to make my mind up after getting a "hurry up" look from my boss, I decided to go with two slices of regular cheese pizza with chicken and mushrooms. Contrary to my manager's opinion, I found it to be not too bad. The dough was just the right thickness, the toppings were plentiful, and everything tasted fresh. Nothing spectacular, but pretty high quality in my opinion. If you're coming during lunch time, be prepared for a lengthy wait. My order only took about 10 min, but my coworker who ordered a whole 10" pizza ended up waiting around 25 min. We were pretty much done eating by the time they called his name up. The employees here are all fairly friendly, but it got be a bit too much. When I was clearly standing in the back deciding what I wanted, I was told 3 or 4 times that they're ready to take my order. I loved my first experience at Dions! We recently moved to Albuquerque and had read that we needed to try Dions. It's close to home and we decided to try it last night. The pizza is amazing! And the prices are really good too, I think it was around $12 for a large pizza. Plus we got a half salad and two sodas and the total was around $20. You should definitely try it out! read more

My wife and I were treated to this place by some friends of ours. The pepperoni pizza was fantastic. We also had the ranch dressing to go with it, and that was incredible as well. The next time we are through the area, we will definitely be returning. There are many other things I'd love to try here. Great place for a Greek salad and a slice. Yeah, the individual slice orders are made from generic cheese pizza with cooked toppings added and heated, but they are still decent. I'm going to start this review off by informing you that I am NOT a pizza fan. I don't know what it is, but pizza is just not my thing. Dion's, though, is a solid pizza place. I enjoyed my pizza so much that I am writing this review as I finish the leftovers that I made sure to save. We ordered the Santorini minus red onions and bell peppers and adding on artichoke hearts (which they did, might I add, at no cost). The crust was perfect and the bottom of the pizza was neither soggy nor overcooked. Since I was skeptical about their pizza while ordering, we also ordered the Crunchy Spinach Salad - a wise choice. It was thoroughly delicious and the little wonton strips on top were just the perfect amount of crunch for the scrumptious salad. Why did I remove one star? They took an extra ten minutes or so to complete the pizza than they originally stated. It would've been a bigger deal if my stomach was growling, but, at that point, I was only starting to get hungry, so the wait didn't hurt. Overall, it was a wonderful experience - the staff were friendly and worked hard to make sure we were satisfied. We'll probably be frequenting there again before we leave ABQ next week. read more

Dion's is a New Mexico-based chain recommended by my local business counterpart during one of my business trip there. They supposedly have pretty good pizzas, but I was in the mood for some sandwiches. The lady working at the counter was super nice. I told here it was my first time and asked for recommendation and she was very helpful. Eventually I went with Meatball & Provolone Sub. She even gave me a bottle of their special ranch sauce to take home for free for my first time. Unfortunately, in the middle of a work travel day, I couldn't let it go bad unrefrigerated. The Meatball & Provolone was made with a cut of wheat baguette sumptuously packed with meatball and juicy provolone cheese. It was great tasting and utterly satisfying, so much that I didn't have room for the chocolate cookie that I also ordered as dessert. The price was very reasonable, with all that (with chips included) plus a juice for only $8.50, which normally will be good for two persons. read more
