Sunday 9/28- Upon arrival, looked like a really cool spot with a good ambiance. It was slower so we got seats at the bar with 2 others to be greeted by "get out" because the Bucs had just lost to the Eagles.. as a bartender myself I'm all for banter, but struck me as odd for a greeting. Ordered a Kona Draft, Coors Lt bottle and Surfside. Took an additional 25-30 minutes to put food in (apps), then took an additional 15 minutes to get another Coors Lt & Surfside after that. Food was very good, but couldn't get a bartender to even check-in or ask if we needed anything more. I was going to dismiss this place entirely and just write it off, until I see a pending charge on my bank account that I was charged $25 more than what my bill + tip was - I tipped over 20% on what was miserable and pitiful service. (I'll be disputing the extra $25). They clearly have regulars there which is great and the focus of the bar/restaurant industry, but tend to bar guests that you have for 30 seconds and them resume entertaining regulars. As a tourist in any opposing fan gear, avoid at all costs if you see two guys behind the bar on a Sunday after 5pm. read more

First time in Downtown Tampa and new we had a long day ahead of us so we new we had to kick things off with Brunch. We showed up at 11:00AM and had no problem getting a table. Our waitress quickly arrived and we ordered drinks. Of course we had to go with the bottomless mimosas. The price was a little higher then we were used to at $25 but we were downtown so we knew prices were be higher then we're used too. For my entrée I went with the Grilled Biscuits and Gravy for $11. It was a little different then I'm used too being a Cheddar stuffed grilled biscuit. which is for sure a good thing. I also comes with maple syrup and fried onions. As we waited on our food our waitress made sure to keep the mimosas coming. Once my food arrived it looked like just one biscuit but it was a fat biscuit. The gravy was very good a was loaded with sausage. The fried onions were also good to snack on the the maple syrup give the dish a nice sweetness to count the salty gravy. As we were wrapping up our waitress kept the mimosas coming even through as we called it the "rain delay" since we were planning on leaving earlier but it started downpouring so we had to stay a little longer. Food was absolutely disgusting. The ground beef looked like they put it in a container and reheated the nachos. The ends of the chips around the bowl were burnt. We arrived witht a large group (7), and they were wonderful. Our server, Cass, was very attentive and took great care of us. They did a great job of bringing our food out at the same time, and other servers were great at helping us during our meal. Our table ordered nachos, burgers, breakfast and salads. This review is for delivery. My husband had a late night craving for wings. I checked Uber Eats to find out who was still opening and delivering, and we decided to try District Tavern. The food arrived about 40 minutes after we placed the order. The restaurant is about 10 minutes away from us, and the food was piping hot when we opened it up. We got 12 lemon pepper chicken wings. They were hot, crispy, and lightly seasoned with lemon pepper. The chicken meat was tender and mild. They were the perfect savory snack for my husband. I'll happily order from them again if their wings are any sign of the quality of the rest of their food. read more

I went to District Tavern with a friend for an early dinner. It was around 4:30pm and a Bucs game was on but it was beginning to clear out and there was plenty of seating. I sat at the bar and they have a pretty extensive drink list. After scanning the QR code for the menu I settled on the chicken wrap with sautéed spinach. The wrap was a decent size filled with grilled chicken but it was very bland and dry. I had to add a lot of hot sauce to make it have some flavor. The sautéed spinach was really steamed spinach with no seasoning so it was not worth it. + there was spinach in the wrap too. It was $4 up charge for the spinach and not worth it. My friend also got the chicken wrap fried with Buffalo sauce and it looked a lot better and he said it was tasty so I should have tried that. The service was good as they were managing some larger tables who were there to watch the game. read more

The waiter he came out and took our order without writing it down and didn't have it cooked correctly. With a different style of cooking and gave the wrong amount of food and then took 15 minutes to give us our check after we ate. Located in downtown Tampa, it's proximity to the cruise line departure area as well as The Florida Aquarium make it an easy place to chill out for a bit. It's not big and fancy but located next door to a dog park so we enjoyed watching all the dogs being walked in the area. You could tell it was a neighborhood hangout and they support the local sports team. We went in around 3pm on a Monday afternoon. The entire place was very quiet and there were not many people in the restaurant. My husband ordered the mild chicken wings. They came out well cooked and the sauce was good. His feedback was the sauce had more heat to it then they server let on to so he wished she would have been a little more clear on the heat level and that the celery on the plate look like it has been cut into three pieces from a normal cut in order to save a few bucks. My mother ordered the blackened chicken sandwich with fries. She enjoyed it very much. I ordered the DT nachos. Love the flavor overall but I wish the nachos were layered - all of the toppings were on top so after eating the top layer - it was just chips underneath. I also think the onion needs to be diced - the chunks were just a bit much given the lack of layering. read more

I was in town for a vacation and we were looking for a good bite to eat. After a long day at theme parks, we found the district tavern on a recommendation list we had. We decided to check it out. In the middle a college town, the district tavern is clearly meant for this audience. The music was very loud and the set up was absolutely meant for this kind of crowd. We decided to sit and eat regardless - we were hungry! We got two appetizers: the Buffalo cauliflower and the mozzarella balls. Both tasted great and the portions were MASSIVE. We could've been full just off it. The Buffalo sauce is really spicy. If you don't like spice, I wouldn't recommend it. I ordered the pesto flat bread. It was delicious. I was so full from the appetizers that I didn't eat more than two pieces of my flatbread, but I didn't enjoy the rest the next day where the flat bread was still delicious. My friends got two burgers and a the margarita flat bread. They all enjoyed it with the exception of the excess amount of cheese on the flat bread. The service was good and fast. Went here on vacation, was disappointed. Upon walking in we were told to seat ourselves, which is fine, but couldn't find a clean table that fit our group of four. We waited a few minutes for the bartender/server to arrive. He was nice, but trying to run the whole place by himself. We waited about 5 minutes just to order our drinks, then 7 minutes to receive them; the sprite tasted like sparkling water. Then we waited 5 minutes to order, and 25 minutes for our food. A friend of mine who lives in Tampa recommended this spot when I was in Tampa on a surprise trip for my birthday. It's located at the bottom of a highrise, near the water (but not with a view of it). We were here on a Sunday, so brunch was going on. You can have unlimited mimosas for $20.00, which I did not partake in. However, my friend did and her mimosa was more of a glass of champagne with a splash of OJ. The cost of the unlimited mimosas was a bit more than I'm used to, being an Orlandoan (usually $10.00 to $15.00 at most). I opted for one of their local craft beers that was on tap. They had a good selection to choose from, which is always a plus in my book. The brunch menu was a little lacking to me. Nothing stood out and made me say "oohhh, that sounds awesome!" Same goes for the lunch menu. However, I did enjoy my meal and thought it was very tasty. I ended up ordering a flatbread off of the lunch menu that had alfredo, bacon, and spinach on it. I also added grilled chicken to it, which I thought made the flatbread much better and more filling. We sat at the bar and I thought the service was great. Our bartender was attentive, offered suggestions when we asked for them, and always made sure our drinks were full. My only suggestion would be for the bartenders to be more up-to-date on the beers offered on tap. I asked what a few of them were and he was unable to provide me with any answers. read more

No clean coffee cups so couldn't get coffee...after waiting 30 minutes just brought iced coffee. Looked to be under staffed and just overall slow. Food wasn't great. Tavern burger was burnt and tasted like lighter fluid. Fries were crispy but greasy. As far as ambiance - very loud so couldn't really have conversation among table. Restrooms were clean. First walk in and the odor of the poor bar maintenance is apparent. Anyone who has been in the industry is familiar with the fungal moldy odor that rises up from improperly cleaned tap lines, and wet messes left behind and under draft coolers and sinks. Maybe a deep clean one day could remedy this. I also recommend the owner and managers evaluate their staff for customer service. Perhaps emphasize customer interaction, politeness of greeting, engaging eye contact and question for your guests. The lack of personality from the opening bartender was nonexistent unless she was speaking with her obvious friend who came in for some chicken tenders. The place has potential, maybe we will arrive at a time when we aren't the first people in the door. Food was ok, mozzarella balls were tasty lacked a little salt and maybe needed 30 seconds more in the fryer. Buffalo cauliflower was slightly mushy and not crispy at all. I came to District Tavern on a Sunday after a recommendation from a Tampa local. It is located in downtown, in Sky Tower, but is a bit off the beaten bath. Drinks - unlimited mimosas until 3:00 p.m. for $20. If you like, you can have a glass of champagne with a splash, literally, of orange juice. They also have a nice variety of beer on tap as well. A few domestics and local options. Food - I am huge wing lover. The bartender said their wings were amazing so I had to try them. They offer a few flavors, I went with buffalo. They were a mild buffalo sauce, not very spicy, however, they were very tasty. Lots of flavor. They came with a small side of celery and the option of ranch or blue cheese. I am very glad I went with his recommendation. Service - My party (3 ladies) sat at the bar. Both bartenders were very attentive and provided us with excellent service. There are a few TV's scattered throughout the restaurant so I am sure the place is packed during Sunday football. If I lived in Tampa I would definitely visit again. read more

We came here before going to a Lightning game and it was pack. Luckily for us a group had reserved two tables but must have canceled so they gave us one of them. The whole bar is very clean and nice looking and had excellent drink options. Sadly, outside of the drinks and the general look of the place everything else seemed to fail. Our server didn't seem to care about her job at all and miss heard a whole bunch of what we told her. In her defense, it was pretty loud in there so we may not have been speaking loud enough. I got the shooters and asked for no brie on it and add chicken. A friend of mine ordered it the way it came and when she brought them out she got them swapped. On top of that, one of our meals showed up after everyone else had finished. As for parking, it is in downtown so we ended up walking here which was over a mile so maybe you will get lucky. read more

This is a great bar with a great drink selection. My best friend was in town and staying nearby and so we met up and walked over to District Tavern. What a great choice. We sat ourselves and we were quickly greeted by a great server who took great care of us. We each ordered a beer and selected the margarite flatbread and the black and blue burger and fries. Great choices...the flatbread was tasty and fresh and the burger was cooked just about perfectly and their fries were great. Not super hot but warm and tasty. Definitely a great place to watch a game on the many TVs and just enjoy a meal with some friends. It is noisy and it wasn't that crowded so just be prepared for noise! First of all, love that this place is vegan friendly. It's hard to find places sometimes to accommodate to everyone's preference. Secondly, these vegan nachos were the "bomb dot com". Tasted way better than regular old nachos. They had flavor and you couldn't even tell it was vegan for those that want to prejudge. Also the tavern shooters are to die for. Little bit of sweetness from the tomatoe bisque , yet very filling. Also the macaroni and cheese was everything I imagined. The buffalo was not overpowering whatsoever. This place is spacious but seem tucked in the heart of Tampa. It would be great for game night with the boys/girls and has good looking food. I haven't tried any yet but next go round definitely will be stuffing my face. My sweet bartenders recommended cinnamon on the rim of my cup when drinking seasonal beers. One of the best advice I've ever gotten from a bartender ( trust me I've had a lot ). I've been to District Tavern several times and the service from the staff and bartenders has always been great but last night we were accosted by the owner who was incredibly rude and disrespectful to my friend who had her service dog with her. The dog is a registered and certified medical service animal but the owner claimed since she didn't "look like a service dog" she wasn't allowed to stay. That's illegal plain and simple. Plus the owner's demeanor and very loud and rude approach was completely uncalled for. It's too bad since we've enjoyed coming here frequently but I feel bad for anyone who needs to suffer under this horrible leader. Lots more places with great ownership to patronize so I'd recommend avoiding District Tavern. We certainly won't be back. read more
