Cool restaurant at the International Mall here in Tampa. They have a solid menu and feature home made sauces. While the things I ordered were presented and cooked very well, I really felt like there was a little "flavor" missing. Maybe a dash of sea salt or something else savory on the wings, for example. The new ginger salad was cool but just missing something in the palate for my taste. My friend ordered the Crispy chicken sandwich and substituted the Tuna patty for chicken and she loved it. She a little extra though so... lol. The reef donkey beer is delicious and I got a Beet-juice cocktail to get some superfood vitamins in my drank. Rating 3 stars because I just think there could be a little more flavor. read more

We definitely had a 5 star dining experience with my family last night. A bit of a family celebration/reunion. I called a week ahead to make a reservation to guarantee that I could have an outside table for 7 people at 7pm on a Friday night. They absolutely accomodated us. Not only was our table being set for us as we arrived, our wonderful server McCoy and his team were right there everytime we needed something. The bar was quick to make our drinks and they were not watered down at all as they never sat waiting for a runner to bring them to us. We put in for 2 appetizers that were very good. The house made guacamole with sweet potato chips were perfect for sharing and the Chimichuri Parm. Baked Chicken wings were delicious though I think they were from cornish hens because they were TINY! Everyone got a wing or two which was just enough as a snack before ordering our second round of drinks and placing the dinner order. If I remember, (drinks were good) we all ordered something different. I can rave about my Mediterranean Shrimp Salad. I don't know if I would ever order anything else off the menu, it was so perfect. A bunch of perfectly cooked but served cold shrimp with all kinds of very fresh veggies in the salad bowl. Serving size was very filling for a salad. My mom ordered the Kale salad without any additional protein and it was a mountain in size and she took half of it home for lunch the next day. My daughter got the steak sandwich and it looked awesome too. Rare in the center and just the right amount of seasoning with sweet potato fries. Her boyfriend ordered the pulled pork sandwich and he devoured it. Guess it was very good. My husband got the Turkey burger with broccoli. He is a fan of turkey burgers, just not the one tonight. He felt it was over seasoned and a bit like it was cooked in the grease of whatever was previously on the flat top grill. My son ordered the chicken cobb salad and he was surprised with the presentation but liked the flavors. It is not served like a traditional Cobb. The chicken filet was on the side of the salad. His wife ordered the Chicken sandwich with sweet potato fries and she really enjoyed it. She also was given a complimentary Ice cream sundae dessert as we were celebrating for her, (and her husband, baby on the way) Our evening was perfect and honestly, McMcoy had alot to do with it. If you are seeing this review, we left extra cash tip on the table because I thought my mom was a little light on her gratuities for the level of service. So I haven't eaten at the mall since I was in high school, and as fancy as you try to make these places, they are still chain restaurants and mall food. So I met my friend for drinks and dinner I had the pineapple margarita to start It was 13$ and I couldn't taste any pineapple. And not much tequila either Then we had the grilled artichoke app and it wasn't bad but the three small chokes for 14$ was a bit much for me We both ordered salads I had the Cobb which was a breaded chicken breast and a small salad next to it So with two glasses of house wine and two salads and a drink the bill was 150$ Needless to say not impressed with the food, the atmosphere or the location. We always have the best service when we come to Doc B's and this time was no different. They really work well as a TEAM so you're not waiting long for drinks or your plates to be cleared even if it isn't your server. Today I ordered, Killer Grilled Shrimp: I thought the dish was really fresh and clean. The shrimp are big and the watermelon and mango salsa they put is delicious and gives it that fresh taste! The Number Six: I consider it the 2nd best chicken sandwich I've had in the area. Moist and spicy, but not too spicy and a little bit of sweetness to tie it all together! Their fries are really good too! I would definitely get both of these dishes again and I recommend to try them yourself if you haven't had them before. read more

I don't WANT to give a mall restaurant a great review but, as it turns out, I really love their food and it's a nice way to get out of the house and still eat healthy, fresh meals. I end up going here at least once a week with my husband, and it's becoming a problem. It's just a great "I don't want to cook but don't want a huge heavy meal I'll regret" restaurant. Especially love it for random weeknight dinners and weekend lunches. I usually get the shaved Brussels sprout salad which is great with or without chicken. I also love the California salad and am a big fan of the house salad when I need a snack/light meal. The crispy chicken they use to top salads (should you add it for a pretty steep additional cost) is thin and panko breaded and not even a little greasy and is the juiciest, crunchiest chicken ever. I could write a novel about this incredible (if overpriced) chicken--I am not being sarcastic. Their food is expensive, but dang it's good. My husband's favorite is the number six (and most employees at Doc B's will also say it's their fave). It's a perfectly crispy chicken sandwich with fresh toppings. Honorable mentions: Their classic cheeseburger is great, the turkey burger is worth ordering, the kale slaw side is banging, and their fries are always immaculate. I've also had their wok out bowl which feels like a weird addition to their menu but is also really good. No matter what I order, I somehow feel like I had a healthy meal here. We were near the mall and decided to pop in for a 'light' lunch (New Year's Resolutions and everything). We were seated right away and the hostess was awesome, she asked if we had been there before and RAVED about the menu and how much it impacted her decision to take a job there. She showed us to a booth and within minutes Brittany came over, introduced herself, took our drink orders and told us about a few additions to the menu. Being completely honest, I was more than a little concerned when I saw the prices on some of the lunch dishes. But, I also so most Yelp comments talking about a little pricey​ but worth it and I have to agree. My husband ordered a Wok Out Bowl - Chicken ($16.00) with Sweet & Spicy Thai sauce and sticky​ brown rice. He doesn't like mushrooms so they offered to do extra​ broccoli instead. I went with the Cajun Shrimp Tacos ($14.00) I got a platter of the three nice size tacos and I chose slaw as my side. The tortillas were fresh, warm and really well made. The mango slaw was a nice balance of crunchy, sweet and savory and the chopped peanuts added a lot of crunch. There was a decent amount of spicy shrimp pieces and that balanced the dish perfectly. The slaw was pretty awesome, it was light fresh and crisp with lots of flavor; I'd love to make that at​ home! Nice size portions of light, fresh, well-prepared​ food, awesome service ABSOLUTELY made the cost worth it. I'd go back again! Super intrigued by the menu..spicy bacon, skirt steak, hot chicken, spicy margaritas (San sour mix). Get there to have NONE of it was available. Okay, the bacon was. And it was cold. And super sweet. Just okay. No skirt steak. No hot chicken. And the spicy margarita was okay. My husband switched the the elderberry Martin it and boy was it strong. But it was just strong. Not real flavor. We ended up ordering the 6 ounce steak with a side of the chimicurri sauce. It was good. The broccoli was delicious. My sons fries were delicious. And his burger, can't remember the name but it had an egg, was apparently delicious because he destroyed it. I gotta tell you, I am a big fan of Doc B's. First of all, I can't go there without thinking of Doc Brown which makes me think of 1.21 gigawatts which has absolutely nothing to do with this review or this restaurant. Moving on. This was my third or fourth trip here, but the previous few were just to kill some time or for happy hour. Their old fashion is killer. It might be the fact that it is sweeter than most so they probably use more sugar, but obviously, that's awesome. Whatever the reason, the old fashion is fantastic. It is aided by the fact that the bar food (no nut or trail mix here) is candied bacon. You heard me. Bar snack is candied bacon. CANDIED BACON!!!!!!!!!!! Sorry sorry. I'm calm. Anyway, you know what you can do with candied bacon besides eating it? Marinate it in your old fashion and THEN eat it. Now you have a whiskey braised candied bacon and a candied bacon flavored old fashion. If you just had an orgasm, it is completely understandable. I was just talking dirty for bacon or whiskey lovers. This time though, I decided to try dinner. Their menu looks amazing, but how can you order dinner when you fill up on candied bacon. CANDIED BACON!! Sorry, sorry. I think I have candied bacon turrets (this review is not intended to offend anyone who suffers from turrets). Anyway, the bartender had a bunch of recommendations, most of them seafood which I was not in the mood for, so she suggested the carnitas sandwich. Essentially, a pulled pork BBQ sandwich. I got sweet potato fries with that. Let me tell you a little something about this sandwich. Wow. I love me BBQ, and there are some good BBQ joints in Tampa (4 Rivers and smoke shack, of course). I would put this up against any of them. This was one of the better pork sandwiches I have had in a very long time and it is going to be near impossible to order anything else. And I know what you're thinking - you're thinking Todd, did you put any candied bacon on your pork sandwich, because frankly, you're a disappointment to your father if you didn't. But my response to that is, (a) how can I give an accurate review of a menu item if I change it by adding candied bacon? (b) why would I eat the candied bacon in any other way besides straight candied bacon? and most importantly, (c) I ate all the candied bacon before my sandwich arrived, so there! Don't you presume to tell me how to eat candied bacon. I will eat candied bacon with you until you're in a bacon coma and then I will eat the rest of yours! So, what have we learned here? It's better than solid food. I had the stir fry, teriyaki chicken with brown rice and it was better than expected. The cheeseburger and filet were also better than expected. When we visited, the restaurant was out of some menu items, and our server was new and not as knowledgeable as we would have liked. Either way, I was pleasantly surprised. Love the outdoor patio and always great people watching at the mall! We had the fries, oven roasted wings, and roadside burger. Our bill was only $13!! The food was delicious, very quality ingredients. The wings were very special and unique, something I've never had before. They had a very crispy skin covered in cheese, maybe parmigiana with fresh garlic, herbs and citrus drizzled over them. We didn't know what to think when they were first brought out but after one bite, we were sold! We will definitely be going back! Also had well liquor, wine, and champagne for $5. We went for brunch and enjoyed the five dollar mimosas and Bloody Marys. We got the grilled shrimp as a shareable and the sauce and salsa was amazing. The shrimp was cooked perfectly. So I went there today may 9 2021 (mothers day) and they had me wait 45 min after ordering to tell me they didnt have any meat, steak or shrimp or salmon at 2 pm wich mean they were not prepared for mothers day.... Meaning very bad from part of management. And then had to wait 40 more minutes for a salad. The sodas are "ICE WITH SODAS" not sodas with ice.. The first time I came here not gonna lie I had a very good experience amd the food is awesome but todays experience was horrible. I stopped here on a whim with my Mom and 3 month old. It was a weekend but they had just opened so it wasn't too busy. They were cool about the stroller and sat us out of the way so we could park the baby by the table. The food was delicious. I chose the Knife and Fork Cobb and my mom had the The #1 Tuna Salad. Each had incredibly fresh ingredients and dressings that paired perfectly. We also tried the fresh guacamole, but got regular chips instead of sweet potato chips. I could tell it was fresh, but it also tasted a bit too tangy for me. Maybe too much lime. My mom loved it. All in all, a great experience! read more

Great service!! The host Nicole, noticed I was hot after we sat down and she came back to see if I wanted to sit somewhere cooler. Doc B's, you had me at "quinoa". Initially, I thought this was just another burger joint until my personal trainer mentioned the salads and "Wok Out Bowls" at Doc B's. I'm always looking for healthy dining options so I decided to check out Doc B's with my husband and sister. Of course, my husband orders the least healthy appetizer on the menu: the Bang Bang Oysters. I thought this dish was a bit overkill. What is the point of frying oysters? I couldn't even tell I was eating an oyster. At a hefty $15 price tag I wouldn't order this app again. On to the healthier items at Doc B's... the menu boasts of salmon from the Faroe Islands, #1 tuna from the Pacific Ocean, hormone-free and vegetarian fed beef, and free-range chicken. I had a difficult time choosing between the salads and the wok out bowls. Everything sounded amazing! I love avocado, kale, and quinoa and so many of the dishes on the menu were packed with tasty veggies and fresh herbs. I finally decided on the Wok Out Bowl with #1 tuna and double veggies instead of a starch. The dish was amazing, but I forgot to ask our waitress if the dish had mushrooms and I was bummed to find out the bowl was packed with mushrooms. Luckily, my husband loves mushrooms so I just tossed my mushrooms into his bowl. Other than the mushrooms, the bowl was fantastic and I would definitely order it again (without mushrooms). Went back here on a Sunday afternoon because my date wanted that lobster roll that I wrote about in my first review. After we were seated, he was disappointed to find that the lobster roll was no longer on the menu :( We sat outside because it was such a beautiful day (warning: the outdoor chairs give you severe waffle butt if you're wearing shorts or a skirt!). We ordered a Bloody Maria which was made with tequila ($11) and Moscow Mule ($12) to start. Nothing special and not very strong. The Bloody Maria was tiny! For food, we both had Wok Out Bowls. Mine was Tuna with Spicy Thai and Quinoa and he chose the Salmon with Sesame Teriyaki and Shanghai Lo Mein, both were $19 and very delicious. Although I think mine was tastier, despite the fact that they forgot to put cashews in it. The waitstaff is friendly and attentive, waters are constantly filled and the atmosphere is really nice. Stopped here for happy hour on a Friday. I wish happy hour was a little bit longer because sometimes it's hard to play hooky...err get out of work early on a Friday enough to partake. But wow was I impressed. 1/2 off drinks made the prices in line with normality (for example $10 normal draft beer price was IMHO a bit much). But I do not fault them. It's got to be tough competing with all of the other options that exist in International mall. Service was top notch. Our waiter, was so friggen patient and good it wasn't even funny. We had a table of about 10 at peak but all of us arrived at different times. It didn't matter to him at all and treated us all like we just got to the restaurant. Side service was also great. My water was always full, and they all treated us like high class patrons. Foodwise, was awesome. I had the 'Bowl' option. It came out quick. I did shrimp, lo mein, spicy thai. Best. Burger. Ever. I'm serious! I LOVE my burger meat still moo-I got and so many restaurants now have that "I'm sorry ma'am, our burgers have to be cooked to at least medium but I'll see what I can do". They always come out medium or MAYBE a little pink. In other words...dry. Doc B's made an awesome burger, extra rare, with not just bacon...but, CANDIED bacon!!! And a thick tomato slice (no yellow center), romaine lettuce with Caesar dressing on it, I was in HEAVEN! But, even before my burger, we tried their wing appetizer with chimichurri sauce and they were awesome! A very distinct, yummy taste that is unlike any wing I've had before -and I try wings everywhere! Now, back to the burger...it came with a kale Coke slaw and I was a bit worried because it sounded a bit healthy. You know how Sometimes something toooo healthy with something maybe not so healthy doesn't go together? It would be like eating mac n cheese and washing it down with a wheatgrass shot. Eww. Well, the kale coleslaw has a creamy dressing and it went beautifully! I went back that night. Had the wings and the shrimp salad and it was again, wonderful and very filling! Then, 2 days later I went back for lunch. Had the Brussels sprout salad and a friend had the shrimp salad. (& we started with the wings!) we shared our salads and I'm glad-not sure I could've eaten the whole plate of Brussels sprout salad although it was very good! It must be my healthy eating thing... I have them substitute kale as my base instead of quinoa, noodles or rice. The food is flavorful, fresh, and served steaming hot, which I really like. The biggest downside of this restaurant are the prices. They charge $15-$21 plus tax and tip for a bowl during lunch time, depending on the type of protein you select. This is nearly double the price many other local build your own bowl places charge and you are not getting any more or better quality food.
