I was staying at a nearby resort and decided to give this place a try after the place we dined at was charging us 17% service charge. The service and the food was amazing. There's a great selection of foods to choose from. The kids menu also had great options too. My nephews were able to even indulge in some kid friendly mocktails like the Shirely Temple and Roy Roger. I haven't seen those kid drinks on menus for decades. You can't beat the bayside views. We had such a great time during lunch that we decided to come back to try their dinner. Even though their website states that they have a small service charge that goes back to their employees we were not charged anything extra. For lunch I decided to keep it light and order a caesar salad. For dinner you're able to order from the lunch and dinner menu so I had their club sandwich for dinner and a cup of clam chowder. I ordered this food to go back to my hotel room, so consider this with my review! It will be solely based on food. The food here in my opinion was very lacking from the two dishes I ordered. The first of which was the scallops. For the price of it, I had definitely expected more than just three, and the quality felt very poor to me. The scallops were VERY fishy and did not have the smooth buttery texture I wanted, and instead was incredibly rubbery. The second dish was the margherita flatbread pizza. The quality was also not there, felt very elementary and seemed like something I would make at home (which is not a good sign) read more

We were hoping for some basic food but the prices are very expensive so we opted for some basic appetizers. I should have known better and ordered my salad dressing on the side, because the seasonal greens and vegetable salad was drowning in the shallot vinaigrette. It was too much. I opted not to have them remake it (mostly because we had already waited a very long time considering it was after lunch and no one Else really in the restaurant) but wish I had because it would have been probably really delicious. My daughter ordered the goat cheese beignets, which should have been relabeled fried lemon cheese balls. There was so much lemon mixed in with the goat cheese that we hardly tasted the cheese. However, as we approached the parking lot, we were turned away by gentleman in the front saying how the lot was for hotel guests only. He mentioned that their lot was full and I have to park all the way on the other side. I followed someone that got in their vehicle about to leave only to see the parking attendant run up to my vehicle and proceeded to tell me that I couldn't park there. Claiming that they need to save spots for hotel guests and that I couldn't park because I'm only here for lunch. Honestly, I don't even know what to say. Every once in a while, you come across an experience that's so much better than you'd hoped and last night's boat cruise and dinner at Dockside 1953 was exactly that. First, a huge shout out to the staff here because our servers were absolutely lovely and worked hard to make our time there comfortable. We first arrived for drinks before a boat cruise on the Bahia Belle. My grape Margherita was not a favorite, but everyone else enjoyed their cocktails. After the cruise we returned and were seated for dinner (minus a reservation). It took a few minutes to get us sorted as there were many people looking to be seated. Our first table was okay, but they ran out of propane and we had to be moved. No problem, we didn't mind the shuffle, but other patrons may have been put off. The food here is excellent, in my opinion. For lighter fare we went with was the fantastic mushroom and goat cheese flatbread and we shared a wedge salad with bacon bits and bleu cheese dressing. They actually halved the salad for us and served it on two separate plates - I have never seen a restaurant do that before. TYVM! Our desserts will not soon be forgotten. Our affogato with stratciatella and espresso was the best I've ever had and our friends loved their butter pecan ice cream. To sit outside and enjoy this type of experience with a delicious bottle of cabarnet, well, it doesn't get much better than this and I truly hope I get a chance to return and do it all over again. read more
