The host warned us they were out of a lot of food and our server Weronica was amazing--also a manager however they were playing fix it as people found they were disappointed. The Hush Puppies and HONEY BUTTER were to DIE for!!! The salad was great too. I would say it's better for bar vibes than a family meal but the team did the best they could with that they had. While not my fav spot in Savannah probably my favorite Server.

It was a busy Saturday afternoon, and while strolling down Historic River Street, we decided to stop for a quick bite to eat. Since we had our pup with us, we were limited to restaurants with outdoor seating, so we chose Dockside Seafood. The reviews were a tad shaky, so we were not sure what to expect. We were seated immediately, and our dog Coco was welcomed as well. The waitress was friendly and attentive. When she came out with our water, she also brought a bowl out for my Coco . The restaurant seemed to be full both inside and outside. I was impressed with the cleanliness of the restroom. Service was good and pretty fast. We ordered drinks, my husband had a Margarita, and I had a Purple Haze. Both were awful. We should have just ordered juice. His New Orleans Shrimp Po Boy was filled with shrimp and was quite tasty. The fries that came with the meal were ok. My crab stuffed mushrooms were underwhelming, I expected much better since we were in Savannah. My Caesar Salad was drenched in salad dressing that tasted store bought. It's definitely my fault for forgetting to ask for the dressing on the side. We had a pleasant experience, but when it comes to the food and drinks, I've had much better.

I love the old building vibe. The service was mediocre at best. I didn't get my beer until the end of my meal once I looked to see if it was on my receipt. We ordered crab stuffed mushrooms and they were dryyyy. They needed an aioli sauce or some binding garlic butter to fuse the cheese and flavors. We also ordered fried green tomatoes which seemed previously frozen. They weren't bad though. I ordered Mussels and the wine sauce tasted bland and just like wine and water. My partner ordered catfish dinner and at one point she questioned if it was really catfish. It was!!! The chowder was actually very tasty though. Many people were getting orders to go so I'm going to say this place is doing something right... Don't let my review stop you from trying it out for yourself. The football games were on though.

Great atmosphere and nice food choices. Food was hot and seasoned well. Try it when you are in Savanah.

Been here for both dinner and lunch. All this said, I think my approach to this review is comprehensive. With regard to food, I think they have a decent (not expansive) selection of food, which I think lends itself to quality. They do most things really well. This said, I do think there is inconsistency based on staff at the restaurant. On one occasion they have accommodated a request, and on another I was denied the exact same request. I found this frustrating. On one occasion I've also seen management talk down to staff here, which is a big no no for me. All people (especially staff) are due respect and this rubbed me the wrong way. This was an isolated incident but it definitely made my dining experience uncomfortable. Especially because I was getting excellent service from the server!!! I've always had quality service from servers here. In the future, I would come to Rhett for convenience as a hotel guest (the hotel is lovely), but would likely not spend my money if I wasn't staying at the hotel. Overall- it's good food, decent ambiance... but there are soooo many good options in Savannah. You have to be exceptional to stand out in that city.

Mom enjoyed her po boy. Said it was very good. My daughters LOVED the Mac n cheese and really it was delicious. I may have stolen a couple bites. We also enjoyed a couple tiki drinks during happy hour. Strong and good. The service was good overall. And it's a nice looking restaurant. I did not like that for a family of four they wanted us at high tops. By my little one was asleep for a bit and then just sat on our laps. As a short person I hate high tops.

It was giving chain restaurant a little more than I expected. We tried the grilled oyster sampler, and while they all looked slightly different, somehow they all tasted like variations of Rockefeller. I could not tell you which was which. The she-crab soup? Absolutely not. Zero flavor. I took one bite and sent it back, and I rarely send food back. The shrimp & grits were... interesting. Very sweet, very corn-forward, and the texture was more porridge/cream of wheat than the thick, savory grits I had in mind. Was it terrible? No. On a rainy day, I could actually see myself eating a bowl of it. But if you tell me shrimp & grits, my mouth has already prepared for something completely different. Now--the fried green tomatoes? THAT was the star. Crispy, topped with a little crab salad and this hot sauce that pulled the whole thing together. The crab cakes were pretty solid too, especially with the two sauces, and the collard greens were tender and well done. Overall, I'd come back for lunch, oysters, drinks and a few appetizers. But dinner reservation? I'm not jumping through hoops. Savannah has too many really good restaurants for that. 3/5 -- cute, fun, a few hits, but the food needed a little more love.

I asked and was told they'd play it, but then after sitting and ordering I'm told they lost the remote so the game is only on a tiny TV on the opposite side of the bar where there is no high top seating. I wouldn't dock a single star for that though. The reason for the one star is that the food is terrible and grossly overpriced. The lobster soup was the best of all we ordered and it was pretty mediocre. No sherry, cream, nor lobster to be found. The tuna was the worst I've ever had and should not be served. Really I should've sent it back, but my son dug in first and ate two pieces, so I felt bad sending it back. I begrudgingly ate my two pieces while my wife only had one. The deviled eggs had overcooked shrimp and a spec of prosciutto. The crab cake was tiny and mediocre. Finally, the mahi dish was maybe a 3 ounce portion with bits of pineapple scattered around basic orzo pasta. The fact that the majority of the few patrons there all ordered fried chicken and Mac n cheese should've been a hint. The restaurant may be by the water, but they are NOT a seafood restaurant. Oh and they charged me 4 extra dollars for "rocks" since I ordered Bourbon on the rocks. We had a shit meal and two drinks each for $175!!! Truly one of the worst dining experiences that I've ever had.

While we found almost everything delicious, I felt the Pasta Jambalaya was just okay, not bad, but it didn't quite reach the high standard of the other dishes. The Barbecue Shrimp came in a spicy sauce loaded with flavor. It came with a piece of bread that was perfect for dipping into the sauce to sop it up. There were a good number of shrimp in the serving. The Crab Cake Sandwich was good. It was not as full of lump crab meat as other crab cakes that we've had elsewhere. The Catfish Fingers were large pieces of catfish that were lightly fried. The Shrimp Poboy was satisfying. The Parmesan Garlic Grits were disappointing. There was no hint of garlic or parmesan flavor. Our server tried to rectify the situation by adding cheddar cheese to it. Fortunately, the Beignets were as good as we expected. Huey's is the only place outside of New Orleans where we have found authentic New Orleans beignets. Our server Jenelle was very friendly. At some point, something frazzled her because she seemed flustered and rattled by the time we were ready to leave. We had asked her for silverware for our beignets. It took her so long that my partner got up to get some from another table themselves because we were tired of waiting. When I asked for the check, she gave me the wrong check. She went in the back to fix it and had my debit card. She came back without the card to ask me for my zip code to finish the transaction. We asked her to bring the POS terminal to our table so that we could finish the payment.
