Decided to check this place out while family went for vacation over 4th of July. Doc's did not disappoint! The food was great and even splurged for the fried cheese cake...it was delicious. The food deserves 5 stars as usual, but today I'm so bummed that the service was just plain terrible. Annie was our server, when asking for additional side sauce that she forgot she remarked, "oh you still want that?" When I had been clearly saving my food to eat it with that sauce. That being said, the food is absolutely delicious, but the server providing the atmosphere was judgmental, not timely and in the service industry you always aim to please the guest in this case she did exact opposite. While the food was amazing, my preference for crab cakes is to be closer to a lump crab versus something that is reminiscent to canned tuna that has been beaten with a fork. Personal preference aside, the flavour was there and enjoyable. I just would not go back for that one. Beyond that, Everything fried was amazing. And amazed I was with the deep fried shrimp. I loved it and this is very surprising as shrimp is so-o-o-o-o not my favorite seafood. But, the texture and flavour was there. Tastee. Would so-o-o-o-o eat again. Their managers go above and beyond to satisfy their guests, the servers are amazing, and the food...my oh my! DELICIOUS! No matter what I try, I fall in love. Went here with my family last night and loved it. The wait was long (about an hour), but when we did finally get seated everything went well from there. My parents had been here the night before and had said their cocktails were kind of weak, but the Mai Tais my husband and I ordered were awesome. I could feel it on the first sip! I think it might depend on who's tending bar, and I bet they brought out their best last night because it was the start of Memorial Day weekend. We could enjoy the music from our table on the second floor sitting next to the open rail with a great view of the water and fishing boats. Been here several times love the food. Downside we showed up tonight at 8:56and were standing there weren't helped for a couple minutes. Finally someone helped us and after we stood there waiting the proceeded to tell us the stop seating at 9:00. We had been there before 9:00. Especially in the times we are having currently with COVID you would think any business is good business. Apparently Doc's is doing well enough to turn customers. The blacked tuna sandwich was awful; 95% coleslaw with a very thin slab of flavorless tuna. The prices are way too high for what you get. The rest of my crew said their food was good, but it still didn't justify the price. I visited Doc's on a Saturday night with my boyfriend. We were told the wait would be over an hour but we only waited 20 mins which was great! However the hostesses seemed more interested in socializing than helping customers. Our server was awesome and very prompt and attentive. I wasn't too impressed with the menu options. We ordered crab cakes for our appetizer. They were small and a little dry but not terrible. For our entrees we ordered crab stuffed flounder and ahi tuna tacos. Both were very good. Next time I would skip the potato side as it was flavorless and unnecessary. The wait for our food was pretty long but it was a weekend and the atmosphere made the wait not so bad. Have tried Docs multiple times over the years, but can't say I've ever had a great meal here. The food is always oily, so much so that it pools on your plate. The view is nice and it's a nice place to cool off from the Texas sun. The food isn't terrible, but it has always been low quality. They seem busy, so, I guess the tourists like them. read more

The outside patio is fantastic and the food was ok. That's about it. Tables had a place for an umbrella but don't expect one unless you ask for one. Long wait for food but that's understandable. What sucked was not getting our drinks until 15 min after our food so our food was already gone when we got them. Had a substitution on a side and have been waiting 30 min so far on just that one side (paid extra for the substitution). It's only fries. Was shorted silverware and asked for it along with lemon. Have yet to receive it. As far as price, paid $120 for 3 entrees, I appetizer and a kid meal. 3 rounds of drinks was an additional $70.
