This place has gone severely downhill throughout the years. I used to be a loyal, nearly every day customer but it's almost not worth coming anymore. The service has gone downhill, starting when Diego left (rip). The food menu has been slowly stripped down to almost nothing and the prices keep going up. The quality is still there but all my favorite menu items are gone. It makes me sad to think about what this place used to be. I hope they realize what they've done. You've lost some loyal regulars. I was so surprised to stumble onto this place and from the outside it's easy to pass up which I have done numerous times ha ha but once I went in, I was introduced to a tranquil culinary oasis! I got the chopped salad, which was excellent with a generous amount of ingredients. The bakery products are absolutely delicious. I would recommend the almond croissant and the cookies are great as well on top of that. Really everything looks delicious! Wow! I felt like I was at The Ivy at the Shore the minute I walked into The Ivy Bakery-Dolce Isola! The flowers alone speak volumes to the love and care put into making this small restaurant /bakery beautiful and welcoming. The bakery case was full of tantalizing pastries and breads, cookies, and croissants. We enjoyed the chocolate chip cookies and I love that there was a nut-free option. Cookies were delicious and did not disappoint. The gelato/ice cream display was gorgeous and next time I'm going to get a few flavors to try. I started the review with dessert because, of course, dessert is always the piece de resistance! For lunch we enjoyed the Ricky's Fried Chicken Sandwich with coleslaw, pickles, seasoned butter, and thousand island dressing all served in a yummy brioche bun. We also loved the Caprese Sandwich which included buffalo mozzarella, fresh tomatoes, basil and olive oil all served on a homemade baguette. Naturally, we had to order a side of fries which were very tasty too! Our server was very nice and efficient. Oh Doggie, I love the Key Lime Pie here. It is FIRE. The chocolate chip cookies here are good too. One awesome bakery in Beverly Hills. Never been here before, so I think they are kind of new in the area. So many pastries and cakes here too. Everything is about moderate in prices. Employees are wonderful and helpful here too. I have only had the currant scones and the coffee, and both are great. I've now visited three times. The scones come with butter and homemade raspberry marmalade. The marmalade is so richly detailed - not too sweet and with plenty of fruit flavor. The scones are a bit crumbly and that's just fine. Imagine a rocky yet fragile biscuit. The currants quietly bring texture and a gentle chewy goodness. Some day, I will get to the butter. The coffee is the best that I've so far found on this stretch of Robertson. While my preference is to sit inside the cafe, enjoying the hot bean in a civilized ceramic cup, I'm happy that the to-go version works, too. A good paper cup, sometimes doubled, is a sturdy vessel. I like this solid, medium dark coffee. The menu with breakfast and lunch looks hearty and not too heavy. Someday I will get to the egg dishes, or perhaps the turkey chili. The people behind the counter are smartly dressed and both friendly and professional. Now. I've been a few times, and I can't not say this. The music. Ahem. It's well-meaning versions of songs by folks like Bob Seger, the Doobie Brothers, and Billy Joel with vocals that are, shall we say, brave. The recordings are smoothly produced, but just don't sit well on the ears. As you approach the cafe on Robertson, the music is loud and impossible to miss. Altogether, this uneven sonic barrage runs counter to the easy confidence of the excellent bakery and cozy cafe. read more

I live a few blocks down from this bakery and have wanted to try it ever since I moved to Culver City. I finally had a chance to stop by with my girlfriend and was absolutely blown away. The food was great, but the ambiance and vibe of the place was awesome. Felt like the perfect place to be on a weekend morning. I got the breakfast sandwich which was pretty good, but I got to try a little bit of the croissant and can't stop thinking about how good it was. I have not really been impressed at anything. I've ordered at this restaurant. I ordered a sandwich once and the bread was so hard. I could not finish it. I ordered a slice of cake that wasn't very sweet and it was overpriced over nine dollars. Also, the music at this place is always so loud. If you sit outside, you can barely hold a conversation because the music is blasting. The fries are not seasoned and I'm not sure what people get here that makes it worth going to. So I'm not sure how to really review & rate this place. I've lived blocks away now for a few years and just learned about them a few months ago. So this past Saturday I finally stopped by for a bite. Now the vibe is weird haha they give off a French Cafe vibe yet they serve meatball subs & Mexican breakfast. So I had a moment of confusion there. Now my fiancé is half Mexican so she's always on the fence about Mexican food when we eat out but she really enjoyed the chilaquiles saying "this is how their supposed to be". I also really enjoyed them. And to me I don't know the difference so usually it's all the same but I can definitely taste the difference. Their pastries were good. Their raisin scone and apple croissant were very flavorful, soft and buttery. I'll definitely try a coffee next time but their fresh drinks were good as well. Now we ordered their crab cakes to some annoying confusion with their front server. The website says their $12 but their menu said $21 and when I asked she claimed the Salomon cakes were $12 when the site clearly says crab cakes $12. It of course wasn't the biggest deal but was annoying especially when one item has two different prices listed. The customer service was good. Polite and on top of what we needed and the food came out at a decent time. I on the other hand thought the portions were very small. And I'm not saying that being a big guy, they were very small. And for their prices, I was scratching my head a little over it. Now my family and I will be back to try other menu items and when we do I'll definitely update my review and rating. read more

This review is only about the cake we had delivered next door to The Ivy. This bakery is owned (?) by The Ivy. I didn't actually go into the bakery, ordered over the phone. I took my daughter to brunch at The Ivy and wanted to bring in a a cake. The restaurant doesn't allow that and said I could call the bakery. I did and spoke to a lovely lady that helped me. I ended up getting their smallest cake which is 8inch. I got the chocolate cake with cream cheese frosting. The cake was more like a brownie but very very good. Frosting was delicious. The Ivy came with the cake with a super fun firecracker type of candle. It stays lit so you can take photos. Nice touch! read more

I love this place so much. The food is delicious with the delicious baked goods made in house. The decor is absolutely pleasing to the eye and you feel like you are transported in Italy or France. Absolutely satisfying. The people that work there are nice. I only have one complaint, and I wish this wasn't the case.. the music that is being played is the owner's vocals that she had recorded. The songs are nice but her voice can be better for she is off key often and it's off putting to the atmosphere that is created there. I understand she is promoting her music but for someone like me who comes from a music background.. my ears are keen.. I do understand other people have complained as well. It's a shame because the ambience and the food is wonderful..but that changes when you are there eating and have to listen to someone who sings off key.. I heard people started complaining and won't come back because of that...I came back on another occasion and other music was playing and it was much more enjoyable....Then I was there yesterday and her music is back and it ruined my time there, unfortunately. I don't mean to be mean but when music and atmospheres are not in balance it will not be a pleasant experience even if the food is wonderful. I don't think that is a place to promote your music unless it's exceptional. It feels like someone who is an amateur and is doing karaoke and on top of it she is also selling her CD there. Who would buy it? Not everyone is a singer and performer.. but this place is wonderful and she might want to focus on what a great place this is.....and leave the music to the professionals! This used to be an inexpensive "find" on Robertson. The food is good, their Apple Turnovers are fantastic. However, they raised the prices by at least 50% in the last year. And if, for no other reason, they play the same five songs over and over. Some off key singer doing Billy Joel cover songs. That would be reason enough to not go. read more

I have been hunting down this marjolaine cake for a while now! My favorite local bakery used to make it years ago. This is the ONLY place I found that makes it. I drove 40 minutes to buy it! And thank goodness they had it already-made. 1 whole cake is $69.99. I bought myself a half cake for my birthday. Definitely worth it - it tastes amazing! My toddler tried their brownie ice cream. My mom got passion fruit ice cream. Us three adults bought a coffee. Everything was yummy. My mom raved about how fresh the ice cream tasted. It's a drive for me but I'm definitely coming back and bringing some more family to try this place! They had sanitizer at their counter and wore masks.
