I really enjoy going to Domenic's for a good, tasty afternoon lunch. The bread is good and the food always tastes fresh. I've had the meatball panini and the caprese. The cookies haven't been very fresh when I've had them, but they are not why I go there. My next choice will be one of the pasta dishes. They look so tasty when I walk in there. Combined with the fresh baked bread and perhaps warmed by the subtle heat emanating from the back kitchen and the breezy open summer air, the experience virtually transports you to Naples. As many observers note, there are often lines out the door and many orders for "the usual" and the friendly and efficient staff gladly oblige. Yet for all its goodness, I find that I will visit for streaks, but then not return for many weeks as the richness of the food can't be enjoyed everyday. this place is hands down some of the best sandwiches in the area. ive definitely driven miles out of my way for one of these sandwiches. my favorite is the caprice sandwich...they marinate the tomatoes overnight and everything comes together so well--the fresh bread, the tomatoes, the cheese...everything is prefect! i dont know that ive had a bad sandwich from these guys. the baked goods are also pretty good. i can personally vouch for the delicious cookies and breads. and the main dishes that they have on display are always tempting...but i always resist and get a sandwich. my only complaint is that i wish they were open for longer hours! i guess when youre that successful, you can make your own hours. read more

It took me a summer in Sicily to realize just how authentic Dom's arancini and Sorpressata are. I personally didn't want to give a five because I wasn't totally wowed by the Serena special last time I ate here, they also have the weirdest operating hours. But the Sorpressa sandwich took me back to Via Vittorio Emanuele in a heartbeat. The sandwiches aren't cheap, and they aren't doublestuffed, but the quality is mind-blowing. I'd also suggest the Ravioli Vanessa, and the cannoli of course. I still can't believe this place is in Waltham. read more

I placed my order online after recent an email with a $3 off coupon. I downloaded the app and put the pick up time for 4:30 pm. I placed the order around 1:30 that afternoon and soon after got another email saying my food will be ready at 5 without an explanation or apology. I only ordered 1 panini, 1 salad, and 1 cannoli. I thought I would be fair and I arrived for pick up at 4:45. I waited for about 5 mins with no one to greet me or anyone at the counter.. everyone was in the back. I finally peaked over the counter and a woman came out I told her about the order I placed online and told her my name she checked a few things and couldn't find my order then she walked over to another register in the far corner and said oh your order isn't ready yet it's scheduled for five I said no I put it on for 4:30 and then asked her how long she said "maybe three minutes".. I said OK and step to the side the woman behind the counter help another customer but only helped her halfway because that she started packing up my order so it really did only take an additional three minutes but I thought this is very odd. The food was delicious but they definitely need to work on their customer service. Also a bit overpriced for the size. read more

Worth the wait in the lunch line. They have a great system for getting people through during the rush. I was in the area for business and saw all the great reviews for this place. Definitely accurate. Looking for a delicious salad or sandwich or soup? Go here. There are a lot of different menu items as well as some that are listed along the counter as you pass by. Take it all in and whatever you order will be good, I'm sure. The portions are large, and the prices are low. Worth every penny. I don't remember the last time I had a sandwich this delicious. My entire eggplant parm sub was perfection, from the bread (!!!) to the sauce, and they don't fry the eggplant which is a huge plus. The cannolis were delicious and I'm literally counting down the days until I can justifiably go back, haha. If you live in the area and haven't been, you're missing out! First time to Domenics. A small, yet busy place. The people there are super friendly, and provide great service. I ordered a meatball panini and a slice of pizza. The pizza was new to me. The dough was soft and thick, and clearly fresh. The sauce was amazing, and you can really tell it is homemade. It's sweet, but not so sweet that it takes away from the pizza. The cheese was partially melted and not oily at all. The crust was just the right amount of crispy. Overall pizza grade: A. The meatball panini was okay, FOR ME. Again, the sauce was great. The meatball was fantastic. For me, I like my panini/hot sandwiches to be toasted. So the bread was too soft for my liking. Don't get me wrong, the bread is fantastic - for things that call for soft bread, such as bread and butter/olive oil, a cold sandwich; just not a hot sandwich/panini. I'm not sure if I could have asked for it toasted, but I am sure that would not have been a problem. Overall grade: B/B-. Again, for me. Domenics' is a great place for a quick bite to eat. I would encourage anyone that enjoys homemade Italian food to check this locale out. read more

I work nearby in Waltham and my office tends to do pick up orders from here pretty often. Their sandwiches and salads are pretty good, but I've grown pretty frustrated with the number of times they screw up my order. I'll pay extra for salad toppings and not get them. Or ask to leave out onions or olives, but still get them. Very annoying when I'm paying for a $14-$15 salad. They also had a super convenient group ordering system online and got rid of it. We always include a note with our orders to let them know it's part of a group order so that it's easier when we go to pick everything up. No one ever reads the notes though and we're always stuck calling off a bunch of names when we get there. You're probably better off sticking with a sandwich and waiting in the line to order it. read more

Domenics is great! I love the Melenzane sandwich. I sometimes substitute the mozzarella for goat cheese, which in my opinion makes the sandwich even better! I love this place. You MUST get the homemade potato chips (these sell out so fast and the last two times I went I missed out :*( ). Tonno used to be my fave/go-to (can't go wrong with this) but the melenzane is amazing. Eggplant/chicken parm are pretty good (melenzane is better), Italian is good too. The Parma sandwich might be the greatest sandwich I've ever tasted in my 33 years on this earth. I live in Los Angeles and unfortunately you couldn't find a place of Dom's caliber out there if you tried but whenever I visit my family in Brookline, I find myself driving to Dom's at least twice during the trip. This place is great! Fresh food, friendly service. I had the healthy option panini and a salad and it was great. Fresh baked bread, they made the salad in front of me with great produce. The place is a little small, and on warm days is a bit hot, so your probably better off doing take out, it's their only downfall. I'll definitely be back though! read more
