Watch out or $60 of food will magically turn into $90. Another thing, if you're ordering sushi and want to sub out imitation crab for the real stuff it's $5 instead of the advertised $3 and if you decide that you want the 69 roll they will charge you twice to add real crab turning it from a $12.50 roll to a $24 roll [I know the math doesn't make sense to me either]. I can go to trappers and pay $20 for all-you-can-eat. It tastes better, gets made faster and has a better menu. The pick three 1/2 rolls lunch special is a good value and I highly recommend the rainbow roll, 69 roll and red ice ball roll. We agreed to sit by the sushi bar due to the long waiting time. But when my husband kindly requested for us to be seated on a table, if one becomes available, the waiter responded with "Yea I know! Word of caution: I have family in the food critic business and this review may seem harsh but it is glaringly accurate. I stopped by at non peak hours and ordered regular items to try that wouldn't be too risky. I am sorry to all the people that think this is good sushi. Sushi was not fresh and dry. There was a hair presented in the salad and when it was pointed out right away I was met with an "I'm sorry" but it was still charged on the tab and no efforts were made to replace the item or anything? Odd. For common rolls like California rolls it appears they premade them in the morning or something and let them sit for a long time because the rice was so sticky that it was not easily grabbed with chopsticks and stuck to it. It made me sick because it was not fresh and I would even prefer sushi that is made in land-locked areas to this one that is how disgusting it was. Sushi options in the harbor all but don't exist so considering the alternative this place isn't the worst you could do. I've been coming here for a few years and it's consistent, I'll give it that for sure. The service is always just ok, not great but certainly not terrible. Here is my run down: - never enough salt on the edamame - rolls are never rolled right enough and are often cut into unwieldy sizes, which makes them very hard to eat - baked rolls often come out slimy and no one likes slimy rolls - cuts inside the rolls are uneven which makes the overall taste weird - no real wasabi - for whatever reason the floors are ALWAYS slick and slimy....even the mats they put down to make you not realize the floors are gross get slick. They need to spend some time deep cleaning this joint! - bathrooms are yucky...again, it needs a deep clean - dishes are often chipped which isn't the end of the world but shows their attention to detail - why are their always children?!?! Overall it's a ok place for sushi in the harbor, just walk carefully and don't look down. read more

Saw it had some good reviews so we had dinner there. Sushi is better than Trappers, but far below a more traditional sushi bar. Too many sauces and rolls with avacado. One person had the orange chicken (they offer some Chinese food) that was awful. So orange flavored it was hard to take. Went back for lunch and had the tonkatsu donburi (Katsu-don). It was in three layers of rice, breaded deep fried pork, and egg with onion on top. The egg and pork had not been cooked together after deep frying as it normally is and was very dry. They do make some of the best miso soup I've ever had. The waitstaff is friendly and our waitress knew the menu very well. The place is clean and airy. I'd recommend trying it for the large and varied menu, but not the sushi or katsu-don. Maybe just have miso soup for lunch? read more

Basically a perfect restaurant. Clean, like OCD level clean throughout the restaurant. Even the restroom was super clean as well, which is not often the case and very welcomed. Boy was I wrong!! We tried The Princess Roll, The Domo Roll, The Caterpillar Roll and one other I can't remember the name of (my husband does the roll choosing, I'm notoriously bad at this.) Fresh ingredients. Beautiful colors. Perfect flavors. The rolls didn't fall apart haphazardly. My husband and I agreed the sushi rice was the best we've ever had. When the miso is bad, it doesn't bode very well for the rest of the meal. Salmon sashimi: not bad, but the texture was kinda icy... Takoyaki: good stuff! But only 4 pieces... Kaki furai (frid oysters): this was VERY good, and I don't even like oysters that much! Seafood tempura: squid, shrimp, oysters. It was okay. Chicken breast karaage: big NOPE. The domo platter is a good choice for the variety and amount of food, but honestly the sushi rolls were so similar to each other. Fried tempura, cream cheese, fake crab were commonly used ingredients. I'd probably get sushi rolls a la carte next time. on another note they advertise the roll combos as being good for 3-5 people, and I agree. three people shared the domo platter and we were stuffed. It was busy the entire time we were there and the server was nice and attentive. Nigiri today was sub-par, with rice well past its prime, cold, gluey and unpleasantly sticky, with none of the vinegar flavor you expect from sushi rice. And the booths - omg, they're so tight! Unless you're smaller than average, expect to feel the table pressing up against your rib cage. 3 stars for a couple reasons. First off, the place was busy and the service was great. Fast, friendly, and always checking on us in a way where it wasn't real intrusive like popping in to check on you when your mouth is full. Great service. The seating situation could have been a lot better. There are a few huge booths that could seat 6 comfortably and all booths had just 2 people. The tables we were seated at seat 4 but are still rather small and really tight especially when all the food and drinks were delivered. It worked out, just seemed really cramped in. The booths should be saved for bigger parties to sit more comfortably. There was a weird really cold draft that kept creeping in from somewhere. Not good on a cold night. My hot Sake cooled off pretty quick. My kids had Orange chicken which looked super good, but was mediocre at best. I wouldn't order it and neither would my kids again. The fatty tuna was phenomenal! But the again it always is. The Philly Crunch Roll was awesome. Last not real happy with the Baked Lobster Roll. The whole thing was rather soggy and didn't stay together. Turned out to be more like a baked lobster rice bowl as soon as I started eating it. That's a roll I wouldn't order again either. All in all service was great, food wise don't know if I go back.
