Don Michael's is a small casual neighborhood type Italian restaurant located in a strip mall in North West Las Vegas. Prices are very reasonable and portions are extra large. Even the wine is reasonably priced. Service was also much better than from most places. They give you complimentary garlic toast to start with. We started out by trying the appetizer called portobello mushrooms. I was expecting something like a few stuffed mushrooms. We got an ENORMOUS bowl of really amazing mushroomy cheesy RICH sauce with mushrooms and spinach. It sure was a family sized portion. It's very good but it's best to put on something like the garlic toast, or your dinner. I thought it would be delicious on a potato. My husband went with the chicken saliccia special (chicken & sausage peppers, onions, olives, rosemary, thyme, wine, Sunday sauce, pasta) He said it was really great and it was an extra large portion too! I had the salmon da vinci (sherry dijon sauce, capers, artichokes, pasta) The salmon was slightly over salted but was prepared reasonably well. The sauce was tasty. It's not a fancy place but is worth a try!

Found this place, yelping the whole way home from Cali earlier today. So glad we came here. First, the garlic bread was more like garlic, butter and a little bread, very tasty! The Wedding Soup, definitely home made, and one of the best I have ever had, not only did it have meatballs, but it also had shredded chicken. The appetizer of meatballs, Wow! Just like Mom used to make. The pasta carbonara, had a rich creamy garlicy cream sauce, lots of bacon, was way too much to eat, ended up taking half home. the linguine alfredo, another rich and creamy sauce, wifey could finish either. All food came out piping hot!! and in pretty good time. The lemonchello cake, i was so full, but i had to try it, had a good lemon tart taste, and the cake was moist. The staff was great!! A real Mom and Pop restaurant, so glad we found this place, we will definitely be back, there is so much more to try..

This restaurant was tucked away in the corner of a half abandoned strip mall. That should've been my sign to leave. I thought I would give it a try and hope to find a hidden gem. I was sadly mistaken. The restaurant was clean and the service was friendly and quick, however the food was the worst I have ever been served. The calamari was rubbery and dripping of dirty oil. The marinara was watery. The shrimp scampi was sitting in a bowl of brown liquid. The veal picatta was grey with canned artichokes also swimming in watery brown liquid. The only fresh items were the salad and the massive amount of garlic put on everything to make it taste like something. Very disappointing to have paid $80 for this meal. We left disgusted and disturbed.

The food was good, but I'm hoping the dine-in is better. The to-go was lacking something. I can't pinpoint it but I'm sure fresh inside the restaurant is better. The Chicken Marsala gots raving reviews, but being that is my favorite Italian dish, I didn't care for it. The Alfredo was flavorful and delicious. The lasagna and baked ziti were also tasty. The side salads and calamari seemed sparse, again, maybe the fact that it was to-go. The mozzarella appetizer surprised me. I was expecting sticks, but they were actually two decent sized blocks. The cheese bread was also a hit. I won't order to-go again, however, I will dine in next time because the food was overall good.

What is it with this place and plastic in your food?? The second time I've found plastic in my food. Looks like they grated the cheese with the plastic wrapper on it. Then I find a hair, laying there right on top of one if the chicken riggies. The food is good and the salad plentiful but I'm tired of finding inedible things in my food. I won't ever order from here again and I'd advise you to do the same.

Food was good. Lots of butter and oil and everything that makes a comfort dish. Tried a couple items while I was in town, had it delivered, so I didn't visit the restaurant. Tried the chicken parm and carbonara. Good enough I would try them again. Anything with cheese has me.

I had a hankering for some good Italian as my comfort food is always pasta. So I went to Don Michael's - it's tucked away in the corner of a strip mall. I was immediately sat and offered something to drink. Wine it was! I had also read about the chicken riggies and ordered that also. You can get it not spicy or spicy; basically on a scale of 1-4. I went 1 which isn't spicy. The flavors were amazing! White wine tomato sauce along with garlic, onion, pepperoni, mushroom. I almost ate the entire plate. There was one waitress working and she was busy but friendly and the ambiance is not fancy at all. It's perfect. I'm coming back for that dish!

This is a down home type of restaurant. No fancy decor, just friendly staff and great food. We typically eat early, so when we arrived at 4pm, the restaurant was empty. I don't care, they can spend more time catering to me and my girl. We ordered the portobello mushroom appetizer. That is seriously good. Mushrooms in a cheese sauce with spinach. It's so cheesey that the strings of cheese seem to follow you. It's a meal in itself! Need I had the Shrimp Scampi and my lady had Fettuccine Alfredo with chicken. Both were excellent and worth having again. Try this place out, I doubt you'll be disappointed.

Came here on a whim on a Wednesday night. We made reservations but the restaurant was mostly empty when we arrived so we probably didn't need them. The service was quick and very friendly! They serve Peroni beer which made my husband super happy! We ordered the Riggies and the Chicken Parmesan. The food came out literally steaming hot! The chicken parm was delicious but the Riggies!!! Oh my goodness the Riggies!! So ahhhmazzing! The sauce was perfectly spicy and we even asked for more bread just to make sure we were able to sop up all that goodness. We barely made a dent in our portions so we are already looking forward to lunch tomorrow! Currently they are only open for dinner but when they can get enough staff they said they will open for lunch. We will look forward to that! This little hole in the wall is definitely getting bookmarked.

This lasagna was apparently good! Sorry you didn't get to see it. Guess you'll have to see for yourself.

How have I not been here before?? First, I really enjoy going to small restaurants such as this place. Not knowing I was speaking to the owner, we began our friendly banter and I felt welcomed right away. I did notice that she may be a little stressed, which made sense because she seemed to be doing a lot on her own. But she was very nice and friendly. Now, about the food. I had the lasagna with meat, and it was so good that I forgot to take a before picture BUT I did take an after photo. The lasagna appeared and tasted homemade, meaning the sauce was freshly made and reduced slowly. Now, I'm not an Italian or have family in the old country of Italy, so take my opinion as an red blooded American that eats American versions of Italian, Mexican, Asian and even American dishes. But I liked this lasagna. I also had a salad with their homemade dressing. It was also appetizing. For dessert, I had their homemade cheesecake made with goat cheese. This was a distinct flavorful dessert and while it was notably different from the cheesecake I am used to, it was delicious. I did manage to take a picture of the cheesecake though. The place is quiet, small and quite worth the visit. I went in with no expectations and was pleasantly impressed. Don't take my word for it, try visiting on your own and make your own decision. I don't think you will be disappointed. Oh, and their iced tea was crisp, clear and refreshing. Give them a try, they are a small business that is worth supporting!

We were in the mood for Italian and a bit tired of the bright lights of downtown Las Vegas, so we made a reservation at Don Michael's. It's about a 20 minute drive from downtown. We got there right on time and the restaurant was empty. The server joked "we reserved the whole restaurant for you". They have a great menu with lots of good choices. The wife started with escargot with a Frutti di Mare. I had my favorite veal parmesan. Hers came with a good salad, mine with pasta fagoili soup. The soup was very thick, almost like chili. Very good. The veal came in 2 large pieces and was also very good. Lots of penne on the plate as well. Unfortunately, the wife's Frutti Di Mare was too salty for her. She barely ate half. The cannoli is made to order and was very good. Service was very good. Overall, a mixed bag. Not sure if we'd make the drive out again.

The meatballs were ok. The chicken franchises was too breaded, not lemony and not a lot of flavor. My husband had the stuffed shells which he said was ok. We had the cheesecake with blueberry topping and it was the worst thing either of us have ever tasted. It had an awful flavor to it and the consistency was the farthest thing from cheesecake.

Don Michael's is amazing! On my birthday evening, Friday, we had called around to a few different restaurants for reservations, fortunately, Don Michael's was able to accommodate a party of 3 for reservations at 6:30 P.M. Don Michael's is a restaurant that specializes in Italian cuisine. It's located in North Las Vegas, cross-streets W Lone Mountain Road and N Decatur Blvd. We took the 95, Craig-W exit to get to Don Michael's. It's inside a large plaza, tucked away in a small space. Upon entering, it felt like a cozy restaurant. Everyone felt like family here. There is plenty of table seating available, physically distanced. There is a TV you can watch. No music was playing at the time we were eating. It was very busy though! Only one team member was seating, cleaning the tables, and providing assistance to the tables. The server was quite friendly and had us seated promptly though. The menu was provided, along with drinks and complimentary garlic bread. After reviewing the menu, we had selected the following Chicken Sinatra (Soup - White Bean Pasta e Fagioli) Spaghetti Marinara with a Meatball Baked Ravioli with a Mild Sausage (Salad with Italian dressing) The soup came out first. The White Bean Pasta e Fagioli is legit. It's homemade with the correct ingredients. Some restaurants use a tomato base, but Don Michael's uses the white bean as the base for the soup. It's absolutely delicious! The salad was fresh, with sliced tomato and onion on-top. We had requested Italian dressing, but balsamic was put instead. The balsamic was good though! The entrees came approximately 30 minutes later. It was extremely busy the Friday evening, between customers inside the restaurant and pick-up orders. The Chicken Sinatra was cooked perfectly. It included the Sherry Dijon sauce with mushrooms, sun-dried tomatoes and roasted pepper. The sun-dried tomatoes were slightly over-powering, but the rest of the ingredients mixed well with the chicken and Sherry Dijon sauce. The Baked Ravioli was huge!!! This lasted me for dinner and lunch the next day. The Ravioli was stuffed with a ricotta/basil mixture. It was super yummy! The marinara sauce on top was plentiful, with cut-up onions in the sauce. The mozzarella was perfectly melted. The mild sausage was good. It wasn't spicy, but sweet. You could tell it was homemade! My daughter enjoyed the Spaghetti Marinara with Meatball, but wasn't able to finish the entire meal. We ended up bringing the dish home. Overall, this was a great experience! The meal wasn't too expensive, under $65.00, including tip! If you're looking for a great, local restaurant that specializes in Italian, you should check out Don Michael's.

Fantastic mom and pop Italian food. This is real food, the kind grandma and grandpa made. The flavor is so refreshing, not the fake acidic sauce you get at the big chains. The riggies was great, fyi they do not play with spice levels. 4 is sweaty hotThe spaghetti and sausage was delicious, the Sunday sauce was deep, rich, and flavorful. read more

This was our first time eating here. Our friends highly recommended us to try it. The food is outstanding, love the garlic bread!! Our server was awesome. She was the only server with many guests in the restaurant. I admire how she stays so calm & is so personable. We are looking forward to going back to try other delicious foods!! I have been searching and searching for veal parmigiana since I moved to Las Vegas 18 months ago. THIS IS THE PLACE!!!! The veal is excellent. I will be a regular customer. I am sure the rest of their menu is great also, as other customers were raving about their food. Can't wait to return, this is going to be a monthly destination. It's hard to find in the shopping center. When looking at Sears, it is to the extreme left in the corner. It only has an OPEN sign in the window.... read more

My wife and I wanted to try something different so I looked up restaurants on Yelp around us and found Don Michael. We arrived at the location it was a little hard to find since the sign at night is hard to see and should be lit up. We entered the Resturant only one other couple was eating it was empty on a Friday night I could understand why there really is no signage the interior could be remodeled to look Italian not brown walls and a red painted chair rail and plastic covered table cloths. As for the food I give the taste five stars but the presentation could use some help. Over all the food was great the service can us a little help and a Italian remodel. read more

Went in on our Anniversary last week, & was pleasently surpirsed by the quality of food here. All from scratch, good service, & she even squeezed out 2 Canolis for us right b4 closing. Been recommending this mom & pop's restaurant ever since. Had 2 meals left over for the next day too. Only complaint, the Calimari was a bit on the salty side, but didn't stop us from finishing it lol! Definitely coming back. read more

My husband and I tried Don Michael's tonight for our 30th Anniversary Dinner and it was FABULOUS!!! It is a small restaurant that specializes in Italian food and the food is made to order. From our Server to the Food, it was a great experience. The server was very personable and made us feel like we were family. My husband ordered the Fruitti Di Mare and absolutely LOVED it! My Baked Ravioli was just as good. We will definitely be back so that we can try other items on their menu. read more

Priced right, excellent food, a menu that is not overcrowded, and owners that care. Sure the decor is not 5 star, nor is there Valet parking.. Rather do you get food that is made to order, with care and passion, and very reasonably priced. Bring a good attitude, dress down and gather for a good meal. It is as some have described in earlier reviews, a place where they will make you feel welcome. The heritage is over 30 years of very respectable Italian restaurant ownership and management, and it shows. Keeping it Simple works ! VISA & MasterCard is accepted, so is Cash. No AmEx. No free WiFi, so be prepared to carry on a good old fashion dinner time conversation. read more

This is a small family owned italian restaurant. It has about 10 tables. My family and I had different dishes, all were amazing. The Ceasar dressing was hand made for our salads and omg! My wife had shrimp marinara that she described as the best she ever had. My daughter had Italian wedding soup. She said it was amazing. My father in law had traditional spaghetti and meatballs he said was better then his favorite spot. My son and I had ravioli. It was really good as well. They do have beer on the menu, though limited. If you want a great traditional Italian meal, this is the place. read more

I found this restaurant on Yelp several years ago. I've tried to go by and Try It Out 3 or 4 times. Each time I went by they were closed. Apparently they have very selective hours. Be very careful with checking to make sure they are open before going by. It's a small restaurant tucked away in the back corner of a strip mall. It's not too fancy. More like a quaint minimalist Italian place you would find in Europe. I went here with my daughter for her 18th birthday. I got some funny looks from the woman who set us down as well as other people in The Establishment. They kept staring at me. The only thing I can think of is that maybe they thought my daughter was my date. I don't know. The food was pretty good. I had The veal parmesan and my daughter had spaghetti and meatballs. We both enjoyed the food and the bread was Crispy on the outside and warm on the inside. I can see why this place gets a lot of good reviews. Try it out. It's worth your time. read more

Sofia and Margaret worked with me to ensure my office and family members of 25 were taken care of. They identified the original night of interest wouldn't be conducive to our needs and recommended a better night. They split the tables up to ensure food was steadily delivered through the night and catered to all of our needs. All the items were amazing and the only complaint to me was the wait, but with a party of 25 that is not Don Michael's fault. I ordered the Chicken Rigge at 4 stars and I loved it! The heat was perfect, portion size was enormous, and it tasted absolutely amazing. My wife ordered their steak and while the portion was smaller than anticipated, she had no complaints and was full after finishing her meal. Our compliments to the Chef and amazing staff for taking care of all of us! read more

Located in Lone Mountain shopping plaza it resides in the far corner next to a smoke shop with bright LED rimmed windows--- easy to miss. We drive by and had to call the restaurant to confirm the address and circled back to find it. Nothing flashy, fancy, trendy or upscale here. Very welcoming people, entertaining kitchen- server interactions, and solid, delicious fresh food. I do wish the bread that they had for the table was something better than enriched white loaf--- but hey, it wasn't at all tempting to me, so I saved some carbs and calories! I went with chicken piccata with extra lemon and capers, my companion had chicken Sinatra, both did not disappoint ( plus we both had enough for to-go boxes ) Our server was willing to elucidate on any questions we had about entree contents and preparation. Owners son owns a larger " upscale" dining established in town, Chef Marc's trattoria--- we may have to try that as well--- or better yet stop by Don Michaels again! Mangia read more

Ask for a sample of the Sunday sauce! It's basically a meat sauce, and it's good! The meatball is amazing, and the garlic bread is absolutely FANTASTIC! They're located in the corner of a plaza so there's plenty of parking, and everything is fairly priced. Or new favorite place to go for Italian! read more

Food just mediocre, no pizza, ordered steak special, wasn't worth the 23.00 tough & lots of grizzle , sauce that smothered it was good , took steak home , rinsed it & gave to dogs . Wine was decent.side dish of Pasta , sauce was not special as you would expect in a good Italian restaurant... won't go back. read more

Excellent hidden gem! They are tucked in between sears and a smoke shop. The food was very good; we had the baked ziti and baked ravioli and they came with a salad with their homemade Italian dressing. This place is highly recommend by friends and family and now I know why. read more

First time was ok food was good i had the shrimp scampi n wife had a pasta dish was not crowded but still waited quite awhile for my wife's food n then they forgot about mine so waited longer . Garlic bread was just toasted bread didn't taste garlic at all , and waitress was great to table next to us they got the specials n how r u doing, we got wat u want ? My wife liked it so will probably go back hope it goes better next time read more

This is my favorite Italian restaurant in Las Vegas. It is cozy, off the strip, and has food like mama used to make! Entrées are reasonably priced and come with pasta or salad and garlic bread. My personal favorite is the eggplant, but lasagna runs a close second! And you can't go wrong with the cannolis. The service is quick, the staff is wonderfully friendly and it's a great place to enjoy a casual dinner. read more

They do have gluten free pasta and they boil it in fresh water so there is a smaller chance of cross contamination but it is definitely not a dedicated gluten free kitchen.

And then while I'm half way done drinking my tea, the busboy tries to clear my tea saucer with the spoon, tea bag, and honey on it -- which i was saving for a second steep. When I tell him no, you can't take it I'm still using it which he should be able to see, he laughs and walks off. I don't appreciate being rushed while I'm eating. He should ask and confirm a response before he ever touches a plate on the table. He needs to be coached on that. Overall, they really need to improve the customer experience. The sad part is I tipped when I ordered (that's how their restaurant is set up) and I'm not happy that I tipped well and then witnessed poor treatment to a guest next to us and was also treated poorly by staff. Went out of our way to leave the strip since this place has such good reviews but it was a disappointing breakfast for us for sure.

I'd like to start off by saying on our side of town we've really needed this quality of Italian food for a long time. While there are ones that might come somewhat close; I'm happy to say that this new authentic Italian Mom 'n' Pop restaurant which just opened recently can't be beat! The restaurant: Very cozy. Not terribly big inside, but enough to handle a typical Friday night's worth of customers. Italian music playing in the background. A very relaxing atmosphere. The staff: Since they've just started out and the hours aren't typical yet (they're in progress of setting up lunch and they only have dinner hours right now), so I'm accustomed to being served by only one waitress: Molly. She is extremely friendly. Remembers me by name (which makes you feel like family). She always takes good care of me whenever I go. In fact she let me try the first cannoli she's ever made and it was an honor (because boy was it good). The chef is also very friendly and he will come out and talk to the customers and answer any question they might have. I usually go during the earlier hours, so we're able to chat for a few minutes about my curiousities of his fine Italian cooking before he starts. He's also very friendly as well and almost remembers my name now! ;) The menu: Very simple, basic and not overcrowded with a bunch of unnecessary dishes to try and bring customers back (like what an Olive Garden type chain would do). It's just straight and to the point (with the only dishes that I feel are really needed for this type of place). A short, but sweet list under each category of the menu (also everything is homemade). Appetizers, salads, soups, pasta dishes, entrees (chicken, seafood, beef, veal), desserts and drinks are what's listed under the main categories (a simple variety under each). Also the prices are extremely fair for the amount of food given/quality for what you pay. Which is another bonus in my book. The food (what I've tried): They have 3 different soups to choose from. I've tried two out of 3 (which are the pasta fagioli and Italian wedding soup). Both of them, I must say, are some of the best Italian soups I've ever had. The Italian wedding soup is very flavorful and has chicken and meatballs in it (also pasta/veggies). The pasta fagioli has pasta and beans (which I must say I'm not fond of) and even then I loved that soup as well (that says something right there if anyone can make me like beans). I still need to try the minestrone which I will do the next time I go in to visit. The garlic bread is fantastic. Always comes out hot and fresh. For the pasta dishes I usually get linguine/spaghetti with marinara or Sunday sauce (which I must say is the best of the two sauces). The marinara is also excellent. It's very light and flavorful. With any of the pasta dishes I say adding meatballs on is a must! I don't know how he does it or what he adds to them, but I can say without a doubt some of the best meatballs I've ever had. The chicken parm is out of sight. Very tender chicken, homemade breadcrumbs, excellent sauce and the right amount of mozerella on top. As for the desserts. The tiramisu is my favorite, but after trying the cannoli I'm not sure which to choose now. They also have homemade cheesecake as well. In closing It's hard not to give them such a high score since I've been satisfied in all categories and this is now the only Italian place I will go to when I want some great authentic Italian food. As soon as we walked in, we were transported back to the 90s, reminiscent of my Italian grandmother's kitchen. A lovely lady attended to all the tables, giving it a personal touch. To kick off our meal, we ordered garlic bread and baked mozzarella. The garlic bread was delightfully buttery, and the baked mozzarella was crispy, melty, and wonderfully seasoned. It had that unmistakable homemade taste. The accompanying sauce was sweet and full of flavor, setting the stage for the rest of our dining experience. For our main courses, we tried the vodka rigatoni with meatball and the chicken Parmesan. My vodka dish was enjoyable but could have used a touch more flavor. A sprinkle of crushed red pepper did the trick to satisfy my palate. The meatball was good, though I wished it was a bit more tender. The portion sizes were generous and perfect for sharing. The chicken Parmesan was a winner with its sweet sauce and perfectly fried chicken. My only quibble was that I prefer the chicken to be thinner, making it easier to enjoy with the pasta. Given the prices, it's understandable they want to make the customer feel like they are getting a bang for their buck. To cap off our meal, I indulged in the tiramisu, which I devoured eagerly. The food here is amazing. Everything I have had is homemade from scratch. I always get the tortellini with Alfredo sauce. The Alfredo sauce they make is some of the best I have ever had. It is not too thick and has a wonderful cheese flavor to it. The tortellini themselves are delicious as well, they are big and have a wonderful cheese inside that goes great with the Alfredo sauce. My boyfriends favorite thing is the fried cheese which he can eat about three orders in one sitting. One of my favorite Italian restaurants in the area. read more

We love hidden treasures, and this certainly was one. While the exterior and decor leave something to be desired, the familial tone and fantastic Italian-with-a-capital-I food more than make up for it. You can tell with your first bite, that Don Michael's uses the best ingredients in their food. You can also see and taste the history and experience that goes into everything they make, including the brown seared veal which is not overcooked to the strong taste of Italian espresso in the tiramisu. great Italian food unbelievable prices. read more

My Father and I went here to eat. We called to see if they made a certain dish. They said that it wasn't on the menu, but they could make it for us. Both of the waitresses were extremely friendly. The food was phenomenal. The place has a really homey, inviting feeling to it. We'll definitely be coming back here. read more

We had a super nice sweet server and she had team mates that helped to serve us that were all very nice. They started us off with a bread basket and embellished oil. The bread is very low quality and is not very palatable. A real Italian restaurant would never serve such bread. (It was also an awful bread basket when it was Bistro 57) They have some sort of special deal. When you order an entree you can add on a salad or a cup of soup for only $5. so my husband tried a cup of a creamy sausage soup that he said was good. A real test for any restaurant is to order the salmon and to ask for medium so that's what I did. I got sushi raw salmon in the center with moist ends. The salmon should have been slightly cooked in the center. I don't know what they did in the kitchen but my guess is that they must have thrown a frozen piece of fish on the grill to achieve this result? The potatoes on my plate were tasty but the vegetable (verts) were over cooked (maybe reheated a few times?) and soggy. The picture is all you need to see of the Osso Buco. It wasn't as melt in your mouth tender as it should have been. Maybe it needed about one hour more of cooking. But you can clearly see the sauce isn't right. It should come with the slow cooked braising sauce. My husband said that it was OK not great. On the bright side the atmosphere is very nice here. The servers are extra nice here. The food isn't the best but if you are not picky and just happy to go someplace that isn't too far then you will enjoy it more.
