Nothing special, even for very basic Mexican. Food was basically flavorless (unless you like ketchup instead of salsa). Service was even worse (waittress could havd cared less we were here). My guess is this place won't be open more than a month. read more

I would Not recommend this place. Asked for extra napkins and did not get them until she brought the bill because she forgot. Not to mention that my food was cold. Waitress never came back to see how we were doing so my husband ate his food while I just sat there hoping to get the waitresses attention. After telling waitress that I would need a to go container she once again did not come back for a while. No one offered a discount or even tried to apologize. Customer service is not there thing. The service was not very good. A female waitress walked past us at least four times and just turned her head away. She wouldn't even acknowledge us. I had to ask an older man if we could PLEASE order some food. They poured our margaritas out of their big slush machines. They tasted "old"! Not much tequila in them either. People brought dinners out of the kitchen and they did not know who was supposed to get it! The staff needs a good manager or something. They also had a Christmas Movie on and bright lights in the dining room. Put on some nice Mexican music and dim those lights. We won't be back. read more

My husband and I came in during the afternoon, not during a high volume time of day. We were seated and waited and waited, placed our order, tacos, enchiladas, nothing that requires extensive time to prepare. We waited and waited until we were offered not once, but twice the incorrect order. Finally about 35 minutes later we were served our food. So sad, I can not believe it possible that Mexican food can taste totally bland! Taco Bell has more flavor, so disappointed!! After finishing, we were discussing how nobody ever came back to the table to ask if we needed anything, refills, anything? I had requested more napkins on 3 occasions, but got up and got them myself. We waited 20 minutes for our check. We will not waste our time going to Don Ramon again. Wish so badly it had not been such an awful experience, West Bend really would appreciate new blood here. I literally have no reason to go back. I eat Mexican at least 2-3 times per week every week. Since this place opened over a year ago I have come back again and again thinking my experience will be better and different, but it never is. Wait staff is not attentive. It takes much longer than it should for the food to come and there's always an issue. Tonight it was the same story. Orders for my family came out 10 min apart from each other. My tostada (part of a combo) was so greasy the tostada was soggy and fell apart. My wife ordered her entree without peppers and said it 3 times but of course it was loaded with peppers. My 2 daughters both ordered quesadillas. One daughter gets hers, which was one tortilla folded in half. They gave her 2 on the plate. 10 min later still waiting on daughter #2's quesadilla. Waiter tells us it's being made. 5 min later he comes back and says they put 2 quesadillas on the 1st plate and the 2nd one was for the other daughter and if she wanted a different one on her own plate I would be charged for a 3rd order. Seriously? Basically all 4 of us had something wrong with our order. This happens EVERY single time we go there. There's always something but yet we keep thinking "this time will be different." But it's not. We never have this problem at Casa Tequila but Don Ramon's is on the way home. Main problem is that this is a pattern since they've opened. When we arrived, the hostess was on the phone with another customer and the manager (we think he was the manager) simply stood there. When she was done, the phone rang right away again and she had to force the guy to take it so she could seat us. That man walked around to make sure everything was visually ok but never spoke to anyone at all. Usually that person walks around and says "How are you?" "Thanks for coming out." etc. Not this guy. The waitress was nice. The hostess came back once to ask if we wanted refills and we think she refilled one of our Diet Cokes with Root Beer. The people at the table next to us ordered a beef dish but got chicken instead. When the server was told, he said "Sorry. Are you ok with it?" What!? No, you're supposed apologize and remove the dish and get the guy what he ordered. The food was bland for being Mexican and the tables didn't have any salt, pepper, or even hot sauce on them. The busboy was very friendly (brought the chips and salsa), but he wasn't provided a plastic tub to carry the dirty dishes in. He had to hold/balance everything in two hands and then try to open outward a heavy glass door (we were on the patio). There was music inside but it was quiet as a tomb outside. It wasn't a "terrible" experience but it wasn't anything I would want to repeat. Lastly and very picky of me, but they didn't carry Tecate beer. What Mexican restaurant worth their jalapenos doesn't have Tecate? A very "meh" one, for sure. read more
