Ordered two slices of cheese pizza well done and the guy literally spun the fresh dough in the air and made a fresh pizza just for me (look at the video). The pizza had a nice charred undercarriage with tangy sauce - pretty good. Large seating restaurant with all the traditional Italian dishes. Plenty of front parking directly in front of the business. They do big catering and offer a discount on multiple pizza purchases. They serve cold domestic beers on tap including Michelob, Bud Light, Budweiser, Mich Ultra and Stella. This is definitely a mom and pop shop type of place. It's well kept but deco and atmosphere is "older" . I love coming here because the staff is super friendly and the food is AMAZING. Donato's Ristorante serves the closest thing to authentic NY-style pizza I've had in the area! The crust, sauce, and overall flavor are spot on. The restaurant has a charming old-school vibe, and the owner is a classic old-school Italian, which adds to the experience. I've even driven all the way from Pembroke Pines West just to enjoy their pizza. You'll notice a lot of elderly patrons dining here, which says a lot about the quality and consistency of the food. Always are "go-to" pizzeria! Wonderful family taking the time to prepare good food. Great garlic rolls, salads and of course pizza. It's also great if you are wanting a meal. I was in the mood for pizza from somewhere different. We had an order of calamari and a mushrooms pizza. The calamari, the good part, is that it wasn't heavily breaded and it had good flavor. On the other hand, it was a bit tough, and the portion seemed a bit small compared to other places I've been. The pizza, it had a nice thin krust and good flavor. But, it didn't have that fresh out of the oven feel to it. It reminded me of pizza that was sitting in a pizza box waiting to be picked up or delivered. We were looking for something different - well a different pizza place other than our normal pizza place - so we settled in Donato's. We ordered a large pizza with mushrooms and an order of calamari. The calamari was a little chewy but wasn't over breaded. They were all rings, but the serving size seemed a little small to us. The sauce was tasty. The pizza was okay. The cheese was very sparse and didn't have that amazing pull that good pizzas have. Service was friendly. The white pieces of paper on the tables was a little odd. We are used to getting rolls at our normal go to - even when we only order pizza. There was no bread service. Pros - clean, friendly, efficient. Mushrooms were fresh/not canned. Cons - while the pizza tasted good, there was something off about the cheese...definitely didn't have that pull. All in all - it wasn't bad. It wasn't great. We didn't have food food so I can only speak to the pizza. We won't be running back, but we wouldn't say we'd never be back. read more

Very sad to say but we will not be going back! We ordered two pies, rolls, a salad and a kids meal and first of all she charged us incorrectly and the food took forever to come out. We ordered Carbonara with chicken, Chicken Parm with Penne and Linguini with meatballs. All came with a side of soup or salad and 3 garlic rolls. The Carbonara was actually alfredo sauce with bacon and the chicken was bland. The Chicken parm was over cooked and not sure what kind of cheese they used as it tasted freezer burnt. The meatballs had absolutely no flavor and I had to spit it out. The linguini was over cooked and tasted mushy. Could not twirl the linguini on my fork as it was broken. The only thing that was good was the salad and the rolls. I would have sent it back but we ordered take out. This is very sad as we wont be back there again. Sad to leave a sad review... but their pizzas are still good. This is a payment process issue! I called to place my order and was told that on Monday they had a CASH only special at $25 for my large pizza. Sadly I told them I had no cash, so then they said no problem, credit card regular price was $29.50. Okay- I placed my order. Then when I go pick up, I see the slip has an up charge of about 0.90, on top of the $29.50 I was already quoted for paying with a credit card? That's just wrong. I know that banks charge businesses for the convenience of using the credit card, I get it. My point is that I was already charged $4 extra dollars for paying with a credit card and IN Addition to that, I had to pay another dollar? I felt nickel and dimed. Unfortunately for me, I told this to the guy at the register and he told me that "everyone" is adding the credit card charges automatically- not true- and that they had been doing this for years... which just made me feel worse cause it means I have been jibbed for years. As a business owner, when I signed the cc agreement with the bank, I knew I had to pay a percent to offer the cc service to my customers. This has not changed. I had to build this charge into my cost structure. As a customer I just dont like this way of nickel and diming your faithful customers. It will be a while before I come back. I'm sure they won't miss me- but I leave this comment behind so other customers may be aware and not feel the way I felt yesterday- like I had been fooled. I don't want to carry cash around again. Today I needed my NY style pizza fix and I always like trying different places so I tried this cozy spot for the first time today and thank goodness it didn't disappoint. Little Italian restaurant located in a remote small plaza near weston. It's just your average Italian restaurant, nothing out of the ordinary honestly. But I've never had a bad meal or experience there. It's walking distance to my house so sometimes if there's nothing to eat at home or I'm not in the mood to cook I'll walk over and order a pizza or lasagna. Their garlic rolls are excellent, extra garlicky just how I like it. During the week there's not that many people so you just walk in and sit anywhere and it's pretty much the same during the weekend, they don't ever get too busy. A family restaurant that my family and I go to all the time. Pizza is delicious and I definitely recommend it! Chicken Parm sub is also delicious and I am not a big chicken parmigiana fan. I always ask for marinara sauce on the side to add more. Third favorite item on the menu is the spaghetti with meat sauce. It's a lot of meat sauce! The pasta is a huge portion so make sure you're hungry. If you're feeling like something lighter, they offer a grilled chicken breast with sautéed broccoli. The chicken is just grilled chicken, not much to be said about plain grilled chicken but the broccoli is amazing! A little heavy on the oil but the mixture with the garlic is delicious. Very good Italian food. Started off with minestrone soup and had the veal parmesan. The soup was very flavorful as well as my meal. The rest of the people I was with had the chicken marsala, the checken cacciatore, and the stuffed shells. They all enjoyed their meals pretty much said The Garlic Rose with delicious as well. The reason I only gave it four stars is the service wasn't very good. We asked the server twice for water, eventually we had to get up and ask her for the third time to bring is water and she finally brought it over. She left dirty plates on the table, and then forgot to bring us our boxes for to our to go items. Pizza should never be just "eehh" it's pizza! I ordered the shrimp scampi...what a disappointment, do not get it. At first glanced it looked good I could see the pieces of garclic mixed in with the pasta and that made me soo excited (I love garlic). That's were the excitement ended. It was pretty much ALL pasta there were 4 shrimp in this huge plate of pasta. Also their scampi was creamy but not from a cream I could see or taste it seemed creamy from the starch of the pasta. To add insult to injury it was overpowered by the lemon taste. I've never had a scampi like that and I hope I never will again. Great friendly local spot - I had last minute family visit and when i called on a Sunday at 3 i was told they didn't deliver. 10 minutes later, the pizzeria calls me back (they must have heard the chaos in the background) and said they feel bad and yes - they can deliver the pies. So two pies were delivered promptly 30 minutes later - warm and delicious and little bellies were filled and this happy auntie is ever so grateful. So in sum: great service, yummy pizza.
