I've been going to this donut shop more often. I've noticed the workers there aren't very friendly . It was a busy day I walked in stood in line not a single worker said hello. They are only friendly to people they know. Whenever I do a big order they add extra again it depends. The big lady that works there charged people a different amount because I ordered 2 dozens last time it was a different price. I went in today she charged me more. Their customer service depends on the people they know. Why not treat everyone the same. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. read more

Their donuts are freshly made and are being brought out as soon as they start to run low on certain donut flavors. Not only are they really delicious but they're soooo soft and moist. Unlike other donuts where you need milk or water to wash down the donut, nope not here, you can eat up to about two donuts before thinking of drinking milk. They have a variety of donut flavors, you wouldn't know what to choose. Lastly, they're so fast with their service, there's a handful of workers ready to serve you so im usually in there for no more than 5 minutes. The Arden area donut gem. I was craving donuts one evening at around 7pm. I looked around for other locations and was disappointed that they had already closed for the day. But then I stumbled upon this beauty open until 9. When we walked in we were greeted by a nice lady behind the counter with a smile. She was very courteous and helpful. (She May or May have not thrown in an extra donut for us.) The donuts tasted great. They were soft and a delight. There were plenty of options to choose from even at 7pm. Went to the taco truck right across this place and I felt like I wanted something sweet to eat so I came over here. There was lots of people there do I thought it was going to be a great experience. I bought a glaze twist which looked great until I start eating it and found the inside was not done. When I went in to see why the donut looked like this the lady at the counter told me it was because it was fresh and it takes 20 minutes for them to rise. I would have accepted that if they would have informed me that before I ate it. She then told me that she's not able to refund me or give me another item because I've already eaten it. And says that the next time I come in to ask for a cool one instead of a fresh one which again had I known that I would have done so. This is the worst customer service I've ever experienced in my life, just no regard for my service and my money. You know you have a problem when you have visited every donut shop in the general vicinity of your drive to work so you actually have to go out of your way to try a new one. This is how I ended up here. It's not really out of the way, but it's located in a neighborhood I don't find myself wanting to hangout in. I came in around 7:30am on a weekday and there was a line out the door! I knew I was in the right place. Fortunately the line moved quickly and I was in and out of there in only a few minutes. $5.00 debit card minimum. Luckily I had cash. I ordered a Glazed Raised Donut and a Chocolate Bar which came to $2.20. Both were really fresh and had great flavor. I liked both the glazed and chocolate frostings and thought they had good consistency. I would get them again. They didn't really have any unique flavors, but they did have some glazed and chocolate twists which looked good as well as some croissants and pastries I would want to try which may keep me coming next back. Service was minimal. The lady behind the counter said I was next, picked out my donuts, took my money and was off to help the next customer. I wasn't really expecting anything more, but it would have been nice. The parking lot is huge. You won't have any troubles. read more

Also, most donut shops in the area open around 4 AM and close around 4 PM. It was around 4:30 and we were craving donuts so we drove about 20 minutes to check this place out. Okay, I'll be honest. I was skeptical about this place as I was headed to try them out. The drive was through an increasingly seedy area, and I was really starting to think that even in daylight I shouldn't get out of the car. BUT. I'm really glad I overlooked the sketchy neighborhood, because these donuts are absolutely insane. They are super fluffy, they aren't overly sweet, and they have a huge selection of flavors! The icing was great because it didn't melt and make a mess even after being in the sun for a minute. The donuts are so light and delicious, they melt in your mouth as you eat. I tried out one of their original donuts and I was super impressed. I'm not normally a fan of the old fashioned style, but Donut Star makes a mean old fashioned donut. The service was quick and professional. It's a really cute little shop and they sell all kinds of beverages to pair with your yummy treats. I highly recommend this place. Lady that works there lost a faithful customer. Was there for a turnover, and she rudely said they don't have any. So as I start to look for another option she walks away to do something else. Walks back and asks if I'm ready or what? (After 15 seconds or so) I said yes I am. She SNAPPED at stating I should have said something instead of just standing there so she could have attended me. No joke, it takes a lot for me to get angry, I'm super patient but that was incredibly uncalled for. Was I supposed to yell for her to come back after she walked away from me? There is NO LINE. THIS IS THE CUTEST PLACE EVER OMG!! My friend's parents own the shop and they are the most hardworking people I know. They open at 4am - imagine all the hard work that has to go into making sure the donuts are ready BY 4 AM! Not only is it really homey and pleasant, the donuts are some of the fluffiest and softest donuts I've ever had. They have a large variety of different donuts to choose from, and plenty of places to sit down and enjoy a conversation with someone over donuts. It's definitely a little larger than your average donut place, but there is a really intimate feel in the atmosphere. The donuts are not oily at all, which leaves a pleasant feel in my stomach. The woman who runs it is super friendly and willing to load up any bar with your choice of filling. It's the only place I know of in Sac that serves a fresh cream filled maple bar. Easy on the sugar both the maple glaze and the cream filling are just the right amount of sweetness. They also serve up some tasty croissants both savory and sweet.
