My husband and I stopped here after visiting the Coca-Cola museum. Very good! My husband had cajan tacos, said some of the best he's ever had. I had the chicken Toluca. So good.!! Absolutely horrible service. We went on a Sat night, waited 50 mins to get seated then 20 more to get our drinks. They had one server and one hostess for all seated tables. Wow, what a fun time at Dos Bocas! My husband, daughter and I ate on the patio with an amazing view of Downtown. I had blackened shrimp fajitas, my daughter had the chicken fajitas and my husband had the enchilada verde and the portions were generous and delicious! For dessert we had hot churros with chocolate dipping sauce....need I say more? The restaurant itself is beautiful and has a full bar upstairs and downstairs and the service was excellent. My husband and I touched down today at the Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport at 6:40 p.m. on Thursday, April 28. Excited and giddy for our first flight since 2019, we had high expectations for our first meal in Atlanta. Opting to skip airport food in lieu of a local restaurant where we could relax with a drink and a nice meal after dropping off our bags. We snaked our way through the dizzying labyrinth corridor to Rideshare Zone 7, and we were picked up by a friendly Uber driver who whisked us to our hotel downtown within 17 minutes: the Hilton Garden Inn. Leading up to this trip that we booked in January, we were so excited to learn our hotel faced the venue for the hotly-anticipated Sweetwater 420 Festival including a restaurant with a bar. What we learned the moment we stepped into our hotel room at 7:45 p.m. was that this restaurant, Dos Bocas, closes at 9 p.m. and so we rushed downstairs to get our meal and drinks. This was turning out to be not as relaxed as we had hoped it would be. At 8 p.m. we were seated by a relatively friendly hostess, and within 5 minutes we had a generous basket of chips and salsa from a person who was not our server. We waited for 15 minutes to place a drink order until my husband asked a young man walking by if he was a server and if we could place a drink order, please. The young man turned out to be the shift manager and was very friendly and promptly took our drink order. By 8:20, I ordered water and my husband ordered a draft Tecate, and we also ordered our meals. My water appeared within 2 minutes but my husband's beer, poured by the bartender, sat on the bar for 10 minutes. Watching the time tick by, it was well after 8:30, no beer, and I watched multiple people attempt to enter the restaurant but the hostess and busser informed all new guests that the kitchen was closed. No one was treated with special privilege. Extreme prejudice to all who tried to enter, including an exhausted young mother holding a newborn while her husband steered a toddler in a stroller. A table who came in after we got their food before ours. I watched the busser girl sitting and chatting with the hostess, and other staff were preoccupied with their phones. I watched a group of festival attendees come in shortly after us get seated, only to walk out in frustration, which is what we should have also done. My husband finally got his first beer at 8:35, which he quickly drank. My gumbo arrived at 8:45 but no meal for my husband. The young man who was hastily assigned to be our server by the shift managed then announced there was a mixup, asked my husband what did he order, and it was at that moment when my husband told the server to forget it and just get him one more beer because we are closing out. The only highlight of this abysmal experience was that the server only charged us for one beer, not even my too-spicy-to-eat gumbo was charged. This restaurant needs a complete overhaul of staff, and there was a missed opportunity by hotel and restaurant management to not plan to stay open an extra hour to accommodate the music festival attendees arriving late from the airport. After a long afternoon at the aquarium, my husband and I and our 3 children were excited to give this place a try and see that they didn't close until 9. We took the elevator up with another family. They got off the elevator before us. We waited as they were seated. When the hostess came back, she said they stopped seating at 8:30. It just turned 8:30 (on the dot) so she said she would check with the kitchen to see if they would seat us. She came back shaking her head and saying they weren't taking any more tables. I said, "but we came up with that other family." She stated that they had just sat several large tables already. I'm not one to cause a scene but I felt I could have. Hostess, manager, kitchen staff, and family that came up before us were all African American, but I hope that isn't why we were turned away and the other family was seated. I had high expectations for this place based on the high reviews and wow were we disappointed. Great food, cute place, AWFUL service. I made a reservation two days in advance. They knew 12 of us were coming. We waited over 30 minutes for each drink. The bar was "backed up" but there was barely anyone there...? Then our waitress clearly forgot half of our order. Brought the first half out (cold) over two hours after we arrived and the second half wouldn't be out for awhile. The cooks who finally brought out our meals had the BIGGEST attitude it was unbelievable. Two of our guests never received food and the waitress didn't even realize it. Well. I want to like this place. The location and pricing were good. I like the service overall, however I feel the food could be better. If the idea is Texmex Cajun infusion they are missing the mark. For the location I do believe they could do well with a little more love into the enchiladas. My mother liked her burger. The blackened chicken received a shoulder shrug from my friend. Tacos were alright... fries, queso, and guacamole was great. So maybe this is a spot for drinks and apps... We had Tay as our server she was absolutely amazing. The food came out hot and perfect. Our drinks were poured eloquently and definitely didn't lack on the alcohol absolutely appreciated. A group of us just ate here and when I tell you Sarah and Robert were soooooooo amazing!!!!! There was a small issue with our drinks and we spoke to our server Robert about it and he immediately got us a manager which was Sarah (not sure if there is a h or not). When I tell you I have never found a more empathetic manager in my life anywhere!!!! She was amazing!!!! You could tell she was upset by our small issue and did everything in her power to fix it!!!!! Really looked forward to trying out this new spot! They've been open for just a month now. I wondered why there was only three other tables in the restaurant on a Saturday. The service was terrible and two of the three orders at my table were completely incorrect. The table next to us had the same issue. Food took over a a half hour to come up and drinks to 15 minutes just to get to the table. Over all terrible experience, there was no correction made to the mistakes at our table. What started off as a not so great experience, turned out to be a phenomenal one. Came in after a day at the Aquarium, to grab some drinks and a bite, the first round of drinks were filled with ice and very weak. We were at a nearby conference and were desperate to find outside food options. My husband found this place and it was a short walk from hotel central. What a find it was! Evidently, it's fairly new and we were thrilled to have stumbled upon it. I must say the Seafood Cobb Salad was one of the best I've ever had. It was so fresh and huge. My husband opted for the Shrimp Po' Boy and loved it as well. Our server, Michael, was terrific and both the manager, Michael Fundora, and general manager, Chris Gunn, stopped by our table to ensure we were enjoying our meals. Dos Bocas is located in a really great spot across from the Ga. Aquarium and Centennial Olympic Park. The menu is a blend of Tex Mex and Cajun food so there is some good variety. I ordered the enchiladas verde and my wife got the Monterey bowl. Both were fantastic. The only negative we experienced was that the salsa was too salty, but it could have just been an anomaly. The restaurant has two floors with a balcony and there are large windows bringing in a lot of natural light. Upon entry, the hostess wrote down our name and the server addressed us by name and explained the menu and concept thoroughly. That was a nice touch. We live in the lofts right across the street so we'll definitely come back frequently. read more

For Downtown residents looking for good food at reasonable prices, Dos Bocas misses the mark. The food was just average. Like other Legacy restaurants, it is aimed more at tourists and conventioneers on expense accounts. We stopped in for a late weekday lunch to try the menu. We were seated on the ground level. Upstairs and the patio open at 4pm, so we didn't see the view or full bar. There is a large bar downstairs as well. We also decided to skip the fajitas at nearly $30. The menu is an interesting mix of Tex-Mex and Cajun. We stated with the queso at $8 and it was no better or worse than anything local. The Chicken Toluca was a decent portion, spiced well with Mexican rice, again average tasting. The jambalaya was also a good sized portion, but a little bland and the shrimp over cooked. However the service was outstanding. Maybe because there were only a few guests, but if they can keep it up with crowds it bodes well. We'll go back to check out the patio bar, but skip the food. read more
