First time here. Stopped by for a quick brunch. I had their two brunch tacos - chorizo-Canmore hash and the porky egg lechon. Both were delicious. So... Just had the weirdest experience at this restaurant. Multiple empty seats inside the restaurant. However we were a party of 3 so they would not give one person in our party proper space to sit/eat (they sat 3 people at a small table for 2 and put one person on a stool versus a chair) even though there was ample space in the restaurant to do so. Therefore, it's a good place for 2, 4, or 6 people it appears... But not 3, 5, or 7... I would not recommend this place for happy hour or meeting friends because of this idiotic policy. Wish I had read the other reviews about the to-go menu before ordering!!! $40 for a "taco kit" with enough fixings to make the blandest 4-5 tacos ever. It was so embarrassing . The menu had indicated it came with 12 tortillas, so we thought, ok--enough for 12 tacos. Having some friends over, we figured each person would be able to get 3 tacos (4 people). Not even close. We tried calling to express our frustration but whoever picked up the phone could have cared less. The accoutrements (cilantro, cotija cheese, pickled onions, carrot habanero hot sauce) came in the same tiny plastic ramekins you get when you get a salad dressing. The meat came in 2 8oz. containers and half of what was in there was just meat fat . The menu said it came with chips and salsa, but there was no salsa. At least the chips were seasoned nicely. I'll give them that. It was probably the only seasoning I tasted in the meal!! Everything else tasted incredibly bland and with the meat being super fatty, I just felt sick afterwards. We figured we'd stay in the neighborhood to get our Mexican-style food fix in but never again. Will make the trek to El Jefe in the Highlands in the future!!!! I really like this food but the servers are weird. I've been in once before and I felt uncomfortable and unwelcome like they didn't want to be serving me and my friends. Tonight even and my boyfriend went in to try the food again because we loved it last time and we were told three times that the kitchen closes in twenty minutes. One girl pointed out two tables I could sit at which were the "clean ones" in the middle of the restaurant but didn't offer to wipe off the other ones. Whoever is creating this food is good at what they do and I really want to eat it but I also really don't want to be made to feel uncomfortable and unwelcome by this weird service. I came in at 9:35 on a Tuesday night (April 18) which isn't late enough to warrant rushing me. I guess I'll just keep going to pinche tacos. read more

Quite possibly the worst Queso to exist in this world. I think they literally took half a brick of cheese, placed in on a skillet, and served it. It was VERY stringy. Almost as if it was cheese from the inside of a Motzerella stick and I was someone supposed to dip a chip in that. While 99.9% of the world serves normal queso, this place tried to get fancy and failed miserably. And it came out AFTER our Tacos. Sat at the bar with some friends from out of town a week or two ago, and we got AWESOME service from our bartender, Jinjoo. It was pretty busy, and she was churning out shaken cocktails like a factory worker, and despite that, she was so friendly and patient. One of my friends is doing a multi-week cleanse, and when we've been going out to eat lately, our servers tend to get an attitude with her because her orders are so complicated to take. Jinjoo knew the menu really well and helped my friend hack the menu so she could get a yummy, filling meal without breaking the bank. On top of that, she made our margs to varying degrees of sweet and sourness, and even spice! She made us feel really welcomed and appreciated even though we can be a complicated bunch of girls to wait on. In combination with the fact that the food is DANK, I don't think any of us will be going back to Pinche Tacos. We highly suggest trying the Tommy's margarita spicy. Definitely get one order of Eskites (the corn on the cob) per person cause you won't want to share, try all the guacamoles by ordering the Guac Trio, and always ask what the specials are.
