TINGA QUESADILLA
Ed D.

We went on a Friday evening and we were seating at one of the high tables right away. There was a good amount of people in the restaurant. The plantains were yummy and they added a little bit of rock salt which was different but I kinda like the sweet and salt combo. We got the chicken quesadilla which was so tasty with a good amount of cheese. We also ordered the fish tacos, barbacoa tacos and tinga chicken tacos. All of them were packed and were very tasty. Our server was very good. He did take a super long time to give us our check but that's ok since it gave me and my friend a chance to talk. Overall a good meal and experience.

Great dinner tonight with friends! DEFINITELY get a margarita. The blood orange and the spicy passionfruit ones were great. Then for sure get tacos, the beer battered fish, steak, and taco of the month were the table favorites. If you want an app, get the poke nachos-- soooo good. But you can skip the chips & salsa and the cojita cheese dip.

Big bar and fun friendly bartender! Pazole was good not chilie forward. The shrimp taco was so good. The batter was light and all the things on top were on point. The house margs were perfect! Add some more chilie depth the the pazole and it will be 5 stars

Hadn't been to Dos Santos in a while, and was glad we returned for the Agave Challenge. We were greeted and seated right away, but the restaurant filled up quickly and had the three staff members (manager, bartender, host/server) scrambling. I appreciated how they all chipped in to help, but there was a lag between orders and items being delivered to our table. There are many seating options available in this rusticly decorated restaurant. Most are high-tops, and the four low-tops that are available are placed very close together and all conversations can be heard. Our drinks were carefully crafted and delicious. The Summertime Sipper was a refreshing mix of fresh cucumber, jalapeno, tequila, and lime. The Quince Sour was a bit sweeter with lavender syrup, quince, mezcal, and egg white. Food is fresh and made to order. The poke nachos were an excellent start to our meal and arrived quickly. Full of fresh ahi tuna with sesame and sriracha aioli, served over house chips. The cup of pozole was served in a mug--perfect for sipping the broth. The tacos were great. The beer-battered shrimp was lightly battered with good flavor. The star was the barbacoa beef. A flavor bomb of sweet marinated beef with kimchi and sriracha aioli. I won't wait as long as I did before to return to Dos Santos.

Dos Santos for the win! Yummy tacos, yummy poke nachos, yummy drinks. It all was really delicious. I am not a fish eater by any means, but the poke nachos were stellar! By far, the best taco on their menu was the Barbacoa beef tacos. The meat was so tender, so well flavored, so very, very delicious! I will go back just for that taco! Drinks were also good. Dos Santos is participating in the Agave Challenge through the month of June. Their drinks were stellar and by far the best I've had so far. Servers were very nice, but were very busy and we had to wait a little bit for drinks, food, and check. They did their best. They did not have a couple of items on the menu as they were out of stock. Pro tip- they charge a 3% fee if you use a credit card and do not do split checks. However, the cute decor and set up as well as the barbacoa beef made up for all that. I will be returning!

Taco 'bout a great place!! My mom, sister and I went for lunch yesterday and we sat outside to enjoy the nice weather. It wasn't too busy for lunch which was nice. Since it was taco Tuesday it was 2 for 1 margs, and 2 different types of tacos (I think?) we got hibiscus margs and my mom ordered a coin marg. It was delish! I wish it was a tad sweeter but it was still good! I ordered the barbacoa taco, the battered shrimp. Both were so freaking delicious! The barbacoa taco has a great Asian twist to it and OMG it was so fantastic!!! The shrimp taco was a little too big for the tortilla if you ask me with all the toppings on it but it was still super tasty!! I can't remember what my sister and mom had but they both enjoyed theirs. We also had some plantains which came with a sweet crema and they were a nice sweet treat to end the meal.

Awesome little hip vibe inside with a nice patio. Delicious little street tacos and some fun apps a little bit of a raw fish bar selection too. Yummy drinks and HH-- had the chicken Tinga taco and shrimp taco so good! Would definitely go back

Where do I begin? This is my must stop in Denver. The interior is very cute and at night the lights are dimmed and romantic. The monthly drinks and tacos make this a fun place to keep coming back to. The cauliflower taco is perfect! Also vegetarians...you can get the crunchy beef taco and substitute for black beans. I recommend a basil lime shot to end your meal!

Great service and the food was tasty. I was a little put off by the very low lighting. Had to use my phone flashlight to see the small letters on the menus. That said I am familiar with their menu. I brought my daughter for the first time and we ordered the flight of margaritas! Because it was her first time there the waitress brought us a taste of the basil margarita too! We had the taquitos and chips and salsa to go with the margs. We decided then to just get a couple tacos. I got the fish and she order one of my favorite...Chicken tinga taco and the beer battered shrimp taco. Like the fish taco it has habanero and a kick! She was happy and I look like a cool mom!

This spot is a treasure! I dined here with relatives and we thoroughly enjoyed our visit. The music was upbeat (a bit on the louder side for conversation) and set the tone for a fun ambiance. The service was top-notch: friendly, enthusiastic, and prompt. The menu displayed an eclectic array of tacos and various other Mexican dishes. Among the three of us, each person tried 2-3 different tacos and they were all flavorful and aesthetically appealing. I'd like to come back for the all day happy hour or taco Tuesday!

Love this little gem in Uptown! Great Mexican ambiance with great food and even better drinks; happy hour specials are amazing! Kitchen Manager Jhonattan has some amazing skills in the kitchen and his staff is great!

Great place for tacos with friends. I enjoyed their Hibiscus Limeade with the steak taco and eskites (street corn). We were able to be seated quickly with a group of 8, and the staff were super friendly and helpful.

Cute little spot. Burrito bowl was a surprise of flavors; the added barbacoa had an Asian inspired flavor which was unexpected. The service was good. They weren't busy since we arrived fairly soon after they opened on Sunday. The Mahi taco was delish, the chicken was actually mediocre. I think the tacos were a smidge overpriced but that's just me.

OMFG Taco

Their tacos are some of the best ever. Exploding with flavor in every bite. Their bartenders also make a mean Tommy's Marg.

We went on…read moretaco Tuesday and had no problem getting bar seating (or there were a few tables available) around 5pm but I noticed after 6pm people were waiting for seating. The food was delicious! We got $2 chips and salsa off the happy hour menu and the queso con soyrizo (not on HH menu) which was served with warm tortillas. Honestly we probably didn't need all that because the tacos were so good I could've just filled up on more of the tacos, but still was a great meal! I ordered the lengua, pastor, and taco special (breaded shrimp). They were all so good. Think taco quality of a good street taco spot but with the ambiance of a cute tex mex bar. The bartender was great and made a solid marg ($8 on happy hour). You get a great deal on taco Tuesday but I'm sure you'd get great service and quality any day of the week!

Good meal but a lot of work and hassle!…read more Very limited parking. Left side of the building are a few parking spots shared by several businesses. Good luck getting a spot. Then you are driving the neighborhood hoping to find a spot. Finally parked and walked to the restaurant. Host told me it would be 30 minutes but the actual wait was 50 minutes. Spend so much time parking and then waiting, at what point do you give up and leave empty handed? Restaurant is VERY LOUD. Finally got a table and ordered OFF MENU. Server agreed to substitute shrimp for my enchiladas and they were good! Fresh corn tortillas were the highlight. Ordered tres leches cake and enjoyed it too. Was a nice meal but just not worth all the hassle.

Let me preface by saying, my kids love the rio. It's simple Tex mex and they know what to expect,…read morebut the last 6-8 months has made my husband and me not like the rio as much! 1. They changed the menu. A lot. No salad with shrimp. 2. For many months, no kids nachos and it was too much to ask for them to melt cheese on chips. Luckily for my daughters sake, they brought those back 3. Weird, non Mexican salads like roasted beet and iceberg wedge 4. Vegetarian items left are mostly just cheese based. Very disappointing! And tonight was the kicker: The kids wanted the rio for Mother's Day but it was a long day and I knew we couldn't go out. Their website stresses that you can order online. I went through the whole order It was very organized Until I tried to pay. It kept saying the amounts had changed and I needed to change a selection but it wouldn't tell me which item and no amount of changing it worked. So I called. I was hung up on after waiting for 5 min I called back and waited longer She took my order but it was tough to get the girl to understand what we wanted. We SLOWLY went through each item, and every item was different than online (e.g. 3 tortillas per order instead of an order of a dozen online). I kept going. We get through my list of things I had ordered. It took 7 min to order for not-so-big family. Then, she repeats the order back to me. She left out HALF of the items we had just gone through! But the total? More than the full order online. I was done! I cancelled my order. I was already hesitant that we would t get the right items since it was so hard to get her to understand. But the higher price with half of the items and less amounts for each one? No thanks! I probably can't get away with avoiding the rip bc my kids still love it, but we used to embrace it and now we look for reasons we can't go. We are actively searching for a replacement that offers good items for the whole family

Chips, queso, guac, salsa etc - all fantastic! Service was very slow - especially considering how slow of a night it was. Everyone ordered a variety of different things. So, we looked for another. We found two. One was way South in Greenwood Village. We tried it, and it was okay, but not the same. The other one was this one in Westminster. So, we drove up there. We liked it. We like it better than we liked the one that used to be in Lakewood. I've always liked the flavors of Mexican food, but I was never really too hot on what is known as "Tex Mex," until Chuy's. I like the restaurant, I like the decor, and I have come to like the food. I admit I always get the same thing because I am vegetarian, and it is difficult to eat vegetarian in a Mexican restaurant. This place KNOCKS IT OUT OF THE PARK serving beans, and rice that are VEGAN! No lard, no animal products, but all the taste, texture, and loveliness of regular Mexican. Even the corn tortillas are vegetarian. The flour tortillas are not, but they are made FRESH on site. I have found that I have come to love their "Big as yo face" burritos smothered in the Ranchero Sauce. The Ranchero Sauce is a milder sauce, but I like the flavor, and I just bring some of my own Ghost Pepper Powder to sprinkle on, and perk it up to standards! I love that I can eat Mexican rice and beans again and not worry about lard, or chicken broth, but with the SAME EXCELLENT flavor. Chuy's has become the only burrito I actually crave. THANK YOU CHUY'S! By the way, I thought the Lakewood location, (now closed), was pretty good. The Greenwood Village wasn't quite as good. The Westminster location, however, is the best of them all. It's a bit of a drive for me, but I love the food, I love the service, and I love the staff. By the way, their salsa that they serve with their chips is pretty darn good, too. It's spicy, but not too spicy, and I think most people will like it. They also serve a chipotle ranch sauce with the chips that has grown on me. I LIKE THIS PLACE! They also have a reward program where you can get free food, and who doesn't love that?
