Went for my sisters bday. We were a party of 8 the ambiance was really cool. All the shareable food was good except the ceviche. And the dinner entrees were just okay and really small for the price we paid for them. The drinks were good but not 20 dollars good so I didn't order another one. The service was really not that great or special at all for the amount they are charging. It felt like since we were a party of 6 or more that our server was already guaranteed her 20% Tip. That no effort was needed on her part. Rarely saw her through out the night except to cash us out. The host were kind and professional. The most helpful employee was one of the bussers he really did a lot for us. So hopefully the bussers and host get a good tip out because they actually worked for it. read more

I rarely write reviews but here we go. Went to Dosalas to celebrate my big promotion. We ignored all the bad reviews. Bad idea! Should've listened to all those reviews. Got there and the pretty doll face receptionist greeted us with a question if we have a reservation. It was around 3 PM. Who makes a reservation at 3 PM?! We asked if we needed a reservation and she says, we usually get busy at this time of the day. She then advised us that we can have a seat in the bar area. We got there and while we waited for our food, maybe one group of customers came in and that was it. They had 20,000 tables available. Anyway, this restaurant is the most pretentious place I've ever been. They're trying to hit that Vegas vibe with all their waitresses wearing red sexy dresses with the said waitresses obviously having a hard time keeping their body hugging dresses down. Everywhere we look, they're there walking and pulling their dresses down or fixing their chest area cause what they were wearing or what they're made to wear is just so uncomfortable. If this is your kind of vibe, I highly recommend you... Dosalas. I ordered a $45 dish which tasted like a hard fried pork chops that I could've just made myself. It was pretty hard, I mean not tender at all for that price. We also ordered their Mexican Street Corn which gave us some, how do I say this in a bit gross way, um diarrhea. Midway throughout our meal, there are still 20,000 (lol) tables available. Maybe another couple came in. You do not need to tell people they need reservations at 3PM. They also have a way of making you feel that they're so uppety up there that your money isn't good enough. There were 65 (lol) employees at the time we were there and all they do is walk and talk with each other. No one made us feel like they value us being there, unlike, when we went to Portland City Grill where every one was just extremely nice, pleasant, and welcoming and the experience was worth every penny; the pdxcitygrill staff were wonderful and you can tell easily that they are all so experienced professionals! We did not have any reservations when we went there (pdxcitygrill) at 4pm but they sat us by the window with a view of the city (no questions asked). Oh the food was wonderful too!. Back to Dosalas... The food at Dosalas is not worth the price. But if you like to pay to have awesome insta pics and look at women who are uncomfortable with what they're wearing, you will have a blast at this place. NEVER GOING BACK HERE. The Grassa restaurant across it has awesome $14 pasta dishes and we should've just gone there to celebrate. read more

Overall we enjoyed our dinner experience and will go back to give it another go but they didn't exactly knock it out of the park. Unfortunately we were seated out on the patio right by the door. It was cold and the heater above us was broken, my wife was freezing the whole time. Service was very good, polite and attentive staff with several servers taking care of us. We started with quinoa & greens salad which was excellent and ordered the paella and also the braised kale. The paella arrived about 4 minutes after the salad so it sat for a bit while we finished the salad which meant it got cold on the very chilly patio. We still enjoyed our first paella experience but it would have been better if it had arrived a little later (probably not a typical complaint but food delivery timing can make or break a meal). The braised kale should be retitled as braised pork belly with a touch of kale. The kale got lost in all the pork belly but still very enjoyable. Definitely one of the nicer restaurants that Vancouver has and it's great to see the new offerings popping up on the waterfront. We'll give it another try and check out their small plates next time. read more

We celebrated our anniversary here last night and loved it. Tapas restaurants are fun and give you a chance to try many things. Prepare to spend a bit more but so worth it We loved the ceviche and Yummy crab toast. We shared the amazing Paella and were very happy with our choices. Dosalas lives up to the hype with the aesthetic and ambiance - food was really good, smaller plates but good flavor - drinks were top tier. However, true reason for the 5 stars was Crystal (the waitress') service - she smiled everytime she passed our table, was attentive, and has jokingly become our standard at other restaurants "well they are no Crystal" - overall great date spot and good vibes. read more

Culinary Delight!! This new trendy Vancouver restaurant just took the city to the next level!! YES! It's a must try! The food was a party to the taste buds with every single bite! They serve small plate style, with big Latin flavor! The staff was truly exceptional, with stopping by regularly and great recommendations. We absolutely loved everything that The Manager Pablo suggested. The pictures won't do this culinary experience justice. You will just need to experience it for yourself! Be sure to have your camera ready, for the great views, stunning fireplace, the swanky, fun atmosphere... including the cool picture perfect angle wings! The food is really good. Some of the items, however, are so good, they make you want to come back 3 times a week! Unfortunately, they don't have "to-go" service. So alas, I don't get to eat here as often as I would like. This morning was the first time that we have eaten their brunch. Let me just say that both the Chilaquiles Rojas and the Poblano Caesar were both outstanding. The Huevos Rancheros Verde seemed to need a little more something, to it. Still good, but lacking that special punch of flavor the other two had. They were fairly busy, which was nice to see. We continue to support our restaurants at this time (so they don't go away). Next time we will ask to not sit in the bar area, however, unless there is a dedicated cocktail server. I think they were too busy making everyone else's drinks to have time to serve their tables too. Overall, a great experience. read more

Three stars is an accommodation, frankly, to the restaurant's decor and my gratitude for the waterfront's contribution to ol' Vantucky's improvement. Urban design, great river view. The food was fine enough. The waitress was charming but less-than-attentive. To her credit, she comped desert since one of my party was celebrating a birthday. Clearly, this place's profits come from the small plates. They are the sort of thing that can be prepared in bulk, in advance, and heated to serve. I ordered the salmon, however. The others in my party were practically finished with their small plates before my salmon arrived. I don't know much about the restaurant business, but I will stick my neck out here and suggest that alcohol is the number one profit margin item for this or any other upscale dining establishment. I waited way to long for two of my drinks. In particular, for my after dinner drink. I sat six feet from the bar. It took us two hours to get out of there on a Sunday (4:30-6:30). Oh well. $250 I won't get back. Not again. read more

Came in here yesterday out of curiosity. I was not aware that I needed a reservation, which was a failure on my part. However, they got us to a table in less than 5 minutes. The place is beautiful and the atmosphere is nice. Our server Kevin was great with explaining everything with it being our first time there. Order the ceviche which was delicious. My only complaint about it was I wish it was spicier but it's taste was fantastic. The empanadas were beyond delicious! I highly recommend them. We also ordered the Paella. I was skeptical because I have had it at other places and it was always a let down. This was not the case. Finally got dessert I got the Million $ Sundae and my friend got the Mexican Hot Chocolate Cake. Both were delicious. As far as drinks go we got punch bowls of The Real Deal Holyfield and my friend got the Woo Girl. Both are delicious but I preferred the The Real Deal Holyfield. It tastes like a watermelon jolly rancher but not super sweet. I would recommend looking at the menu before going they have the prices on the menu. read more

Had a birthday dinner here, made reservations and when we arrived were seated promptly in our river view seats! It was beautiful! First notice was they have REALLY loud club music playing, and while I do understand it's "fun" it's just straight up hard to hear anything the servers were saying as long as who you are with. I think the best part was the service!! I ordered a drink and twice two different servers tried to deliver me someone else's drink and didn't get my drink till after food so I joked I had my cocktail for dessert. My favorite part was the table side margaritas! Lola was so sweet and the drink was amazing and there was no wait! Wish I went the route rather than ordering! We had a fun experience but I won't be back. For the price of food it was okay. I have had WAY better meals out for way less. read more

The food was amazing. Empanadas and all. HOWEVER, I know this isn't a "family" restaurant BUT, they should really put something in the menu for kids. I loved this place. But I am a single mother and I take my kid everywhere and the night I took him with me, there was nothing for him to eat, especially because he has a disability. PLEASE OLEASE PLEASE PLEASE add a kids menu. I love this place. And I would be a regular but there no kids menu. I know maybe one customer doesn't do it but imagine how many more people would be here if you had a kids menu. I really hope you take this into consideration. Because I loved this place. I went there in November 2021 and then again in February 2022. I was shocked by the outrageous increase in prices since November. The menu is now designed for people to "share" an entree. This might be fine for most, but I am a vegan and my husband is not. The only entree on the menu that is vegan was a paella, while generously portioned, would force my husband to get his own entree or share something that he really doesn't feel like eating. His entree would be priced at $90 and the one I chose was priced at $75. He ordered a margarita priced at $17 and to add a shot of tequila to that made that 12-oz margarita priced at $34. One pour of wine for me was priced at $21. The hardest thing was the menu designed for a couple to share. This doesn't help people with differing dietary needs/restrictions. It should have been designed a little more friendly. I would frequent this restaurant more if the cost were not so prohibitive. Wouldn't it be better to lower the cost a little and get more frequent customer visits? read more

This was the second time that I ate at Dosalas and frankly We were very disappointed. It was my husband's birthday and the tapas were not as tasty as the first time. We ask for some type of sparkling drink like Pelegrino but he says they only had club soda,something about a supply chain issue. The service was ok but we had to ask 3 times for decaf coffee and when it came, it was undrinkable. Normally, most high end restaurants give a free dessert of your choice but they only give you ice cream as a free dessert. read more

I and a friend decided to try Dosales on the Vancouver waterfront. What a disappointment it turned out to be. The prices are ridiculously high for what you get. I ordered a Caesar salad ($14) with shrimp (add $10), so $24/fo4 the salad. Here's what you get - 5 leaves of romaine lettuce, 5 grilled shrimp and dressing. 5he dressing was very tasty. My friend ordered the exact same thing. We each had a drink, the prices of which are ridiculously over priced. The tab $86 plus tip. Nothing was exceptional. The worst of the whole experience was the noise, it is so loud in this place that you had to shout if you wanted to say something. I have hearing loss and it still was to loud. I'm not sure what food and drinks are like because no one cared to make sure we got served, but I would definitely not go for the people! Made a reservation ahead of time, first time there and excited to go, when we got upstairs they changed our reservation last minute from outside to the indoor bar in the corner. When we were seated no one came up or offered us menus for at least 10minutes. Left us feeling super awkward and not knowing what to do. Someone else was then seated close to us at the bar and was greeted and given menus. We decided to leave after continually being ignored. Where to begin... My wife made reservations for my birthday 2 days before the date. I had read all the information on their website, and was excited to enjoy an upscale dining experience!! We arrived about 5 min before our reservation, and were directed to seats in the entry to await our table. We spent about 20 min there while watching about 20 others with no reservations escorted upstairs and seated. Finally, a young man looked up from his cell phone and instructed us to "just go upstairs, and someone would seat us." Hmmm, that should have been a clue, as others were escorted, but we followed his directions and walked upstairs. We were met by a young lady who asked brusquely if we wanted to go outside. Well, it was a 100 degree day, and we were dressed for dinner, so we asked to be seated inside. She replied that she would try to find us a seat. She opted for a 2 top table in the bar, small bar table with bar stool seating near the top of the stairs. I asked if she couldn't find us a booth, to which she responded "no, that seating was on a first come, first seated basis and she couldn't do that." I said that we had made reservations days earlier, and she replied they were all full. I glanced at an open booth near the windows, and asked to be seated there. She replied that "they were reserved for 3 or more guests, and we were only 2." We then recognized that many of the non-reservation people that had arrived later than us were seated in booths, and I asked what the point of a reservation was if we had to dine in the bar. She became frustrated and said the bar was the best she could do, and offered to send a manager to our table, Not wanting to make a scene, we declined. At that point, the birthday joy had evaporated, and we had to decide if this was where we wanted to spent the $200+ that we had planned to celebrate with. We decided to invest elsewhere and left without the opportunity to try the food we had been excited about. This is touted as an upscale restaurant, and I have had better service at McDonalds! Never have I felt so disrespected or discounted. This is a younger crowd establishment, and perhaps more mature people are not considered valued customers here. In any case, regardless of what the food may have been like, based on my experience, I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. read more

We came here for my birthday. Everything was delicious. We ordered guacamole for the table, octopus, tuna tostadas, empanadas, the Cubano, and chicken sandwich. The food was all plated to share and came out at a nice pace. The service was excellent. I really enjoyed my cocktail, and my husband loved the cold smoked old fashion.
