The only thing that wowed us was the server and the view. After spending nearly $200 on three cocktails and a handful of small plates for two people, we had to get another meal somewhere else immediately! We left hungry and dissatisfied. The food needs a lot of improvement, especially the chorizo in the clams, we wouldn't eat the chorizo because it was truly "off". That being said, the hostess and server were remarkable and made the food dissatisfaction better. My complaints are solely the menu, food quality and preparation, and pricing. read more

Amazing! When I made reservations for this place I kinda assumed it was just going to be an "Instagram spot". However the food was amazing! I have celiacs disease and they had so many great options for me. I also am happy to say there was no cross contamination issues either. The food was so good! We were seated outside and the view was great! The staff was very friendly and beautiful! Now to get to some of the bad reviews people post... this is a tapas style eatery. You will need to order more than one plate per person. We ordered 5 for two of us and we had plenty of food and some left over. The drinks were amazing and definitely came with some flare. This place was incredible! We saw mixed reviews here but knew we had to check it out ourselves - and we're so glad we did!! We had reservations for 9pm & were greeted warmly by the hostesses. Our table had a stunning waterfront view, and our phenomenal waitress Madeline made our experience even better and gave great cocktail recommendations. They were delicious and gorgeous, & our small plates were so tasty. We wanted to order 10 more plates of the hamachi crudo and those short rib empanadas.. to die for! Even the food runners made their 5 second engagement with us warm and welcoming. Madeline was so thoughtful and sent a free guac & tostada plate after she learned we had just moved here from CA, to make us feel more at home. Love that!!! Gorgeous decor and awesome food. It's really hard to find beautiful, elegant restaurants to dine in, in Portland anymore. In 2006 Portland was the Indy gastronomy capitol of the US. Everyone was moving here. But with Portland's rapid violent political decline in 2009, with all the rioting and violence that spring up with Occupy, there has been a mass closure of cool restaurants and businesses. No one wants to visit the downtown Portland core anymore, because quite frankly, it is dangerous. One violent political riot after another, since 2009. Not to mention the fact that garbage litters EVERY thoroughfare around the downtown core, resulting in an unappetizing, very ugly drive. Portlander's! Dosales is worth the drive from Portland, through all the trash, to get to it. It's one of the few places left near Portland where you are free to dress up, and be the elegant human you are! read more

So I got excited about this place on the Vancouver waterfront when I saw the tequila bar sign. I did not initially realize it was referring to the upper patio but I am so glad I ventured inside. It was gorgeous and upscale in decor. The patio and electronic shades and great view were incredible atmosphere. Very over priced!!!! This was our second time trying Dosalas. Our first experience was just my husband and I shortly after they opened. They were still getting the kinks out. This time we were a group of 7 for a birthday dinner. We knew ahead of time that there was a 20% gratuity for parties over 6. I understand this rule, however our waitress was less than attentive. She didn't bring out our plates and my mom didn't get her food until the rest of us were almost done. Not ok! The drinks were so overpriced!! My children ordered strawberry lemonade that was $11! The least expensive glass of red wine was $15. I can get a nice bottle for $20, two doors down at Maryhill. The food was over spiced and very small servings and we did not just order small plates. The large entrees were very small also. We left feeling ripped off and unsatisfied. The atmosphere, though nice, was not worth the price. We will not be back. read more

I will say based of how expensive everything are, I would have been upset as well if I had bad service. This is a very beautiful restaurant with a pretty views but like everyone says the prices are high and portions are small. Drinks are outrageously expensive! I got the Coco Chanel and it was good but not worth $21! For food I got the empanadas and I thought they were tasty. I also got the Peruvian quinoa and greens... they originally got my order wrong and just gave me the Peruvian quinoa. They fixed the issue quickly but my dish still didn't have arugula in it like the menu described. Also, it was very spicy which the menu also didn't describe. The street corn was good! read more

We had a 7pm reservation which I thought would give us plenty of time to have a nice meal before we attended an event in Portland. The waitress took our order and then pretty much ignored our table. We sat there for an hour and a half before they served us our food. Half the dishes were ice cold as if they'd been sitting around for a while. The waitress and staff didn't do anything about the horrible service and barely apologized. This must be typical for this restaurant. read more

This place is a trip. It's the "moving across the river and buying a McMansion" of Latin restaurants. It's basically a club designed around places to take instagram pics. The food is mostly deep fried tapas, with some astronomically priced steaks as well. We went at like 1 on a Sunday and it was empty except for us and a few people in evening gowns taking photos at various spots. Absolutely amazing experience. From the moment I entered I was overwhelmed by the beautiful unique decor. The rounded stairway led up with beautiful chandeliers. Once upstairs the all encompassing views left me breathless. I never wanted to leave. The bar in the center was hoping with fun bartenders and people enjoying cocktails, food and amazing views. We sat outside on the patio and I felt like I was immediately transported to a vacation spot. My partner and I shared the guacamole and it had just the perfect amount of spice - delicious! We then shared the ahi tostadas and they were delicious. The shrimp tacos were my favorite ever. I loved the pickled veggies on the side that packed a punch. We then (on a fish role) shared the salmon which was amazing!!! Oh, and I forgot we had the Brazilian Cheese Bread which when they first arrived I thought.. oh these are small. BUT.. one bite brought a smile to my face. Delish! And in the end, we left one behind. The people next to us had the Short Ribs and The Pork Belly skewers which I will definitely be trying on my next visit. They looked amazing! and they said they were "to die for". The drinks were such a treat. Each one an experience on its own. We started off a bit boring (so we thought) and had the DA Margarita... it was so good. It was obvious upon first sip that they didn't use run of the mill plain tequila. It was a reposado and definitely added to the smooth, slightly vanilla carmel notes. Next I tried the Purple Rain, and it was so fun. They brought it to the table one color and then poured pea powder in and wha-la it turned purple. Such a fun presentation and I loved it. We have tried twice now. The atmosphere and location are great. The drink prices and food prices are super expensive for what you get. We shared 3 small plates and 2 cocktails each with one of those drinks being a beer. The portions are tiny and cocktails not worth the price. Our bill was over $150 without tip yet. Not sure we will go back. You are definitely paying for the atmosphere and the novelty of bringing cocktails to your table with props. One cocktail they have comes out in a Tiffany Blue box and they have another that comes in a gold birdcage. I love a good craft cocktail but I don't need the props. No, I didn't order those. I came here for the first time today for happy hour. I had many things from the small plate menu. Everything that I had was delicious and very flavorful. However they are very small portions so you have to eat multiple things if you're going to eat it as a meal. They are tapas.The beautiful pear basil cocktail was light and refreshing just what I needed on a hot day. I will be back again it was a pleasant experience. Highly, highly, overrated... and over priced. Came here for dinner, we were offered the tequila sommelier and said yes please but they just never came. Ended up ordering Tequila on our own multiple glasses without ever seeing the sommelier until the end of our meal. We ordered an appetizer that was to come with toast to eat it with four people at our table and only three pieces of toast....we asked for more but it never came and then when we asked for it again, they said unfortunately they had burnt it in the kitchen. Gave up on the toast and went on to dinner. Meal was OK but not up to my standards for tapas. I think the hype is all about the decor which is lovely but the food and service truly miss the mark. This was our second visit to Dosalas, the first was just cocktails. We met with three other people for Happy Hour on a weekday. The place was pretty empty when we arrived. We ordered cocktails while we waited for the last two in our party to arrive. The Margaritas were good and came quickly. And another positive is the decor which is beautiful as well as the unobstructed views of the Columbia River. The reduction in rating stars comes in with the quality of the food and prices. We ordered our food off of the Happy Hour Menu. First up was a small portion of Guacamole with some homemade tostadas, the Guacamole trio, and an order of the Empanadas. The Guacamole was okay, nothing special. It was a pretty small portion for $18. The Empanadas were over-fried. My Brother in law and I both ordered the Cuban Sandwich. Our sandwiches came about 20 minutes after everyone else got their orders. We actually had to ask another server about them because our server hadn't come back. Apparently, somebody had called out so they were short handed. When the sandwiches arrived, they seemed overcooked like they possibly sat under a heat lamp for too long while waiting to be picked up. They were also pretty greasy. We were all disappointed with the food given the price point. The service was just as diappointing. A good manager would have helped out a little but we observed the manager just standing around. At this point, I would not recommend this restaurant. read more

All in all we had an average experience. Food was overpriced for quality of ingredients and presentation. Cocktails are on point but also overpriced. Service was 3 out of 5 stars. Bartenders were great. Our server was meh. Seemed to be a lack of training. We got appetizers and we weren't brought plates for sharing. Our cocktails and water glasses were empty when our server came and checked on us after we got our food and they were only interested in hiking up our tab, didn't offer to bring more water. They didn't introduce themselves so I don't remember their name. We got water a little while later but was inconsistent with when we were eating. A busser came by and cleared our apps and then came back with water. We decided after apps to call it because the prices were too much for the experience we were provided IMO. The ambience is nice if you like the Las Vegas vibe. It's personally a little gaudy for me. I don't think I would mind it as much if they cared about the quality of service, ingredients and food presentation as much as they do offering "instagramable" photo ops (one of the notes they offer on their menu like other restaurants that have a note under their options such as *vegan or *GF). All in all I don't think I'll be giving them another shot anytime soon. Sorry Dosales, I really wanted to like you guys. For the record your outdoor space looked fantastic for a sunny day with a couple of Margaritas so I think they're worth checking out for that at least! read more

We've been talking about coming here for months. Finally make a reservation with a new friend. Pork Belly: is 80% fat and they came out with dried out meat and the fat was hard. Octopus: very little octopus, dried out. Served with potatoes mixed in. Octopus is a hearty dish. Then smother what little octopus with potatoes?? The food is precooked and tastes like it was left under the warmers for hours. Dried out and not fresh tasting at all. And then paying top dollar for Old Country Buffet quality precooked, under the warmer food. read more

Where should I begin... made reservation for brunch, we were seated promptly. Waited for nearly 10 minutes for our server and water to show up. Then she was gone again with our drinks order, only came back with our drinks to take our brunch order after 20 minutes. We ordered a Passion Royale, and a classic margaritas. The Royale tasted good, but the Margaritas was a bit too salty to our taste. Gabby told us that they are short staffed. But I saw plenty of staffs cat walking back and forth, and chichating with the manager. However, our foods came out relatively fast, only took them 15 minutes. We ordered the CHILAQUILES ROJAS, HUEVOS RANCHEROS VERDE, and ANCIENT GRAINS & GREENS with shrimps. The foods tasted fine, perfectly seasoned, unlike the Margaritas. We are definitely going back to try their dinner menu, and hoping for a better services experience. read more

This was my first time trying out this restaurant and by first glance it was extravagant. The different seating decor I loved, the outside deck was lively and beautiful. I loved the layout and the fact it was upstairs. The music was a bit loud made it hard to hear your guest. Me and my boyfriend were really impressed by the different cocktails and tequila. We probably would have tried more if it wasn't super expensive but that was expected. For how much the food is you don't get a lot but the flavor definitely makes up for it. I ordered the yellowtail mango ceviche which was really yummy had a little sweetness, not spicy at all, more tangy. I ended up ordering more tostadas because it wasn't enough to dip. My boyfriend ordered the lamb chops to which he found perfectly rare and "fist-fucked full of taste" lol and the capers with the oil was well put together. Overall I would go here again to try different plates and cocktails. We might make it our special occasion place for a while. Loved the experience :) read more

Let's start by saying I was VERY Excited to try this place. I made a reservation for my entire family and told them how amazing it looked from all the online publicity. This restaurant opened recently but don't let that fool you because the owners of this restaurant also own multiple other Latin/Hispanic locations in the area. The place is FREAKING GORGEOUS, but thats where I felt the amazement ended. The staff where extremely out of order, we had 3-5 servers the entire night and we where confused who we needed to ask for drinks, food, and other things. We sat for 25 minutes before anyone came over to our table to even offer us water or get our drink orders. Something that our table was irritated about was that we where informed that these dishes are meant to be shared, after we had already placed our orders. Not knowing that the food came out as prepared was also another inconvenience because one persons food arrived 40 minutes prior to the last person getting her main course. I was the only person who ordered a drink and my drink arrived after I had consumed my entire meal so that was a little annoying, I want to eat and drink at the same time. Again if we had known that the meals where meant to be shared we wouldn't have been nearly as stunned about the portion size. The meals are very small, I had the mussel and clam dish and it felt like I was paying a high price for very little food. Let me say though that the food is very good, well cooked just very small. I ordered the million $ sundae, and maybe I shouldn't haven considering it's $22! The description sounded amazing but again I was very let down because my ice cream didn't have any gold, or caramel. It was vanilla ice cream with some magic shell on it. Very sad for me because I love dessert. The consensus was that everyone was still hungry so we went downstairs and got second dinner, not something you want when you just went out to dinner. To sum this all up your paying for the beautiful restaurant and that's kinda where it ends. I would rather go to one of their other restaurants and leave super happy and with a full tummy. read more
