This place is over hyped. The seafood tastes like someone ate it and trew it up and then they re-serve it to you. Tried most of there menu and it was all disgusting. I would avoid this place. Stick to the classic twigs or wild fin restaurants next door and walk past this place. read more

My girlfriend and I visited Dosalas last night as it was her birthday for dinner. I had made reservations a month in advance to hopefully get a nice table for the night. When we arrived the hostess seated us within 5 minutes or so. Once we arrived at the table it turned out to be a high traffic area right next to the bar. As the seating was definitely sub par I asked for a different table but was just moved to the bar itself on the other side. This was very disappointing since I had made reservations so far in advance. The least they could do would be to give us a booth even if we didn't get a window seat. Once seated the server came over right away and gave us our menus to review. She was very nice to us but pushed us a bit to order right away which was a little irritating. My girlfriend ordered a guava tequila drink which was very good and I had a glass of cabernet. While the drink was excellent the wine was just ok. Wasn't expecting a a lot honestly because this is more of a tequila place after all. For our main dish I had pork ribs and my girlfriend had salmon. Both were extremely salty. In fact I don't think I've ever had a saltier meal in my life. We ate only about half our dinners because of it unfortunately. The ambiance of the place is super nice and it has a great view of the river. However the price is extremely expensive. The drinks are around $20 and the main entries at the low end are $45 and up. Overall I would say that this is a good place to have a drink and take a quick look at the river but not to make it your dinner destination. read more

From margarita factory to jorges tequila factory to now Dos alas. This is a hot spot for sure will garner multiple fans for years to come. This is def a pricey spot. Drinks range from 15-40 dollars BUT the drinks are amazing and just hit the spot. They def took their time getting everything g right when it came to the drinks. This place isn't really a typical dish place it's more of a tapas style and shareable plates. I tried the empanadas of rib (10/10) pork belly skewers (8/10 basically marinated in soy sauce with a sweet hit) fried ribs (10/10) Mexican street style corn (10/10 spicy yet just what you want) then the paella and tomahawk. Paella was amazing and the rice if you think is undercooked that is what they aim for according to the waiter. Tomahawk was cooked to perfection and was flavorful. I went with a party of 4 including myself and we also got 5 drinks. Total was about 450 for everything. Yeah it's spendy but there honestly wasn't anything that let me down the food the drinks and the service was phenomenal. I will def come back for special occasions. read more

I would really love to talk to an OWNER regarding the fact that I was told I could not make a birthday reservation for 10 -12 people a month in advance from 5-9pm and can't walk in and be sat together!?? Worst experience we've ever had. Made our reservation 6 weeks ago as guests were in town and we wanted to watch the Christmas boat parade from a table by the windows. Added this to my reservation notes. Reservation was accepted. We arrived 10 minutes early and the hostesses station was jam packed with approximately 20 other people waiting. About 20 minutes later we were seated in the bar. The music was so loud that we couldn't here one another across the table. We explained we had reserved a table and we would wait in the bar and order a cocktail but we weren't going to enjoy our dinner there. They said they would seat us at the next table available. 30 minutes later a waiter came to the table to take our drink order and 30 minutes after that we got our first drink. Still sitting in the bar. Talked to the hostess several times and she was very kind assuring she would get us a table as soon as possible. Bar waiter kept trying to get us to order food, no matter how many times we said we were waiting for a table in the restaurant. 1.5 hours later and after watching several other groups being sat at tables, we asked for a manager, who blamed everyone and everything for them not being able to seat us at a table. She especially blamed the hostess which is ridiculous. When we said we were leaving to eat in the restaurant below, Wild Fin, she offered to forgo the cost of the drinks but we paid for our drinks and tipped the hostess. This is not the fault of the hostess, but a lack of management. The food and drinks are overpriced but the view is pretty, which is why we went. We will never go back again. We enjoyed a delicious meal and wonderful service and Wild Fin. Dosalas is poorly managed and expect you, the customer, to just accept that. There are too many wonderful restaurants in Vancouver to support a poorly managed one. read more

Food was good, customer service was absolutely the WORST! We made 2 reservations for 3pm when the restaurant opened for a party of 9 specifically for happy hour we were told we made the reservations incorrectly by the host who had the worst attitude and was rude about it, we were the only people in the entire building and were treated like we were ruining everyone's reservations. So once they finally sat us they sat us outside where we were not able to have happy hour while we were walking through the upstairs my mom slipped and fell scraping her elbow and immediately swelled she was approached by a young waiter and helped up then we were sat, not a single manager came over to see if she was ok, no one offered ice or anything I had to ask the server for ice which she forgot multiple times. Our table alone spent well over 1,000 and to be treated so badly from start to finish is really upsetting. read more

If you want a Vegas vibe and you are 21 or 22 years old you're going to love this place too bad it started out so great and now they take 800 reservations you wait forever for your food and then a smarmy server in a snarky way says we have a two hour limit on your table not our fault that the food didn't come out and we waited 35 minutes for dessert the food is good yes it is pricey and if they did not have a server like Anna we would probably never come back she's the best the other smarmy guys are not trained at all and will upsell you -when you ask for tequila rocks they bring a $25 shot or when A friend asked for Gin he said he didn't know anything about Gin they are a tequila house and yet they have over 12 gins on their menu I wish them well it's a beautiful setting and if they lose the locals crowd which they are about to good luck! I came here for my birthday from out of town and was very surprised on how beautiful the interior was. I'm a big fan of tequila and Clase Azul is a favorite so I was excited to say the display of the different bottles. The host was very welcoming. Everything was great as well as drinks. I had the guava lavender margarita. I'm a bartender myself and can be picky about the drinks at places but this one was perfect. I would have given this place a 5 but our server never came to check on us after we got our food or to ask us if we wanted anymore drinks which was a bit disappointing since the table near us was getting more attention. The bussers came to our tables more than she did. She finally came back with our dessert. I loved that they give you a cute candle sparkler on ice cream for your birthday which makes up for the lack of service. I hope to be back and have more drinks in the future. read more

We waited for 30 minutes and had no one take our drink order. For how many workers there are employed at this establishment that walked by us you'd think we would've been served. Beautiful location and decor! Unique, high end drinks, and a pretty fun experience. First time here and we made reservations for the deck. Check in was quick and the hosts were engaging and lovely. We were were led to a counter spot next to the gas firepit/table and there was nothing there: no water glasses/plates/silverware AND no chairs. We had to wait for the confused host to find us two chairs. We then sat there for about 15 minutes before flagging down a server to ask for acknowledgement and she got the process rolling but let us know that another person would be our server. We decided on cocktails (the house margarita and the vintage fashion were delicious) and small plates: Pork belly and Tuna Tostadas were tasty and thoughtfully prepared, the Burrata was so-so: hard, tasteless cherry tomatoes and stale croutons, the Clams and Mussels "herb crusted bread" was a plain, tasteless piece of bread cut in quarters. Several of the mussels were not open (they should have never left the kitchen). The meal was also rushed - one server (not our original) asked if we wanted dessert while we were waiting for our second course, we were never asked about dessert after we finished - our bill was simply placed in front of us (?) and we were asked about new cocktails when ours were still 3/4 full yet when we needed another round further on we simply couldn't find anyone to take our order. My brother flagged down a busser to relay this request but nothing came from this. There was an additional attempt to sell us shots of tequila that fell flat. The overall vibe felt like we were being rushed and pushed to order though there were empty tables and counter spots all around us. I've been in the industry for over 30 years and I found this place puzzling. To quote another reviewer: "The servers are kind and personable, but not polished." I would add that the staff doesn't quite live up to the menu. Something to consider: if you don't enjoy noisy environments this place is probably not for you. Loud, upbeat music permeated every corner of the building - from the host area to the bar, lounge and even on the deck - more of a swanky LA club/bar atmosphere than intimate dinner setting. She referred us to the restaurant and now it's our favorite around. Wherever Sandra works we follow her there. Manager, Allison and our server Rose was great. Had a reservation for 7pm - in the covered patio. Showed up at 6:50 for a 7:00 reservation in the covered patio. Seated at 7:15 in a corner unused bar instead. Music was super loud, baby crying near us (not restaurant's fault). Asked waitress about the reservation situation and why we made a reservation in a part of the rest where we weren't seated (that's kind of how reservations work). Nothing happened and nobody around us saw a waiter for the next 20 minutes. Left irritated at 7:35....45 minutes after arriving for our reservation having never been offered drinks or explanation. This is one of those places trying super hard to create a certain vibe that doesn't seem genuine or deserved. Nice building - sort of tacky interior...thumping music as if it was on the Vegas strip and not in the couve. Really wanted to try the food but experience was too much of a hurdle to get over. Hard to say if I'd give another try but it definitely will not be on a weekend evening....and maybe without a reservation or any expectations. read more

#Painful. After hearing from friends that the food at Dosalas was amazing I figured we would give it a try. Well it was like a circus. So bad we couldn't believe it. We literally laughed it was so bad. I can't paint the picture clear enough for you to see it vividly so here's the Cliff notes. 1. Who is running this place? After error number 5/6 the server informed us he was the bus boy and thrown into serving tonight. After that it all made sense. 2. We were were approached by the "Lead" 3 separate times to tell us they didn't have Crab toast, Tomahawk, Ribs. That's all fine but we only ordered the crab toast, and that was after being told we could order the others. True story! Wait it gets better. So after we find out what's available my fiancée orders Latin Bisque. This is a soup with chicken, Avacado cheese etc, they litterally bring out a bowl of just broth . You can't make this stuff up. After 10 minutes the "lead" comes back and ask how it is. My fiancé says fine and I tell her don't lie to the lady. I said ma'am this is just broth not the soup we ordered. She said looked a little empty which is why I asked, then went to a table 2 over where she grabbed the correct soup and gave it to us. Why didn't she just bring us the right thing when she realized they had served us broth . Instead of asking how it was ??? Anyway. We had a garbage experience. But food we did get was good so gave then an extra star and a total of 2 star rating. read more

My wife and I waited a very long time to be served and the noise level was horrible. We ordered the octopus and it was inedible because it was so chewy. The margaritas were decent, but nothing special. We talked to the manager and they treated us right, we tipped the waiter because they were very friendly and did their job, and we won't be back. Would have liked to order one of their unique cocktails, but they are VERY OVERPRICED. It seems that a consultant must have advised them to charge absurdly high prices for cocktails to give the illusion that a Vancouver restaurant could be elevated to a NYC-like experience. If I had tried one of the cocktails, which I would normally, I could have recommended them to others. Or I may have tried a few if I felt they would be worth it. But we have been in a pandemic, work has not been as steady for many people. It is the wrong time to try this approach. By the way, there is a $77 drink on the menu! read more

This place is very confusing. Their menu has a mixture of a whole bunch of random different foods that don't necessarily go together. You're Paying for the view and the ambience, not the quantity or the quality of food or drinks. The portion sizes are EXTREMELY extremely small. Be prepared to spend hundreds of dollars between a couple drinks and a couple plates. They recommend getting at least five plates ($20 min each) for the table to share, when they aren't shareable. The drinks are $20 each, and it may be slightly more than a shot glass or fluid. We ordered the chicken sandwich, the Brazilian cheese bread, and the ancient green salad. We had to send the salad back to the kitchen, because it was so insanely spicy. Yes... Spicey. The menu had no indication of this. I loved my chicken sandwich, and I feel that it was worth the $16, as it was split into four chunks of subsandwich. We were absolutely blown away by the Brazilian cheese bread, and not in a good way. It's basically three donut holes filled with cheese- and that's not exaggerated. We don't need to go back, and we're not even sure that we want to try brunch. Hopefully these prices and this menu are just because it's the new fancy popular waterfront restaurant. However, this place won't last long with these kinds of prices and menu items. Portions and quality don't match the price. Try it once, but that's probably enough. read more

I have been here twice and both times I went away irritated. The food is good as well as the cocktails, but the service could be better. I was there with a party of 6 on 6/9/22 and for the most part is was alright, but when that kind of money is spent I am looking for better than alright. It is too loud for my tastes, and it contributes to the problem of mistakes being made on the order. One of our orders of lamb came medium well which no one asked for nor should the restaurant have that option, people who like lamb aren't getting IT med well. An order of tempura cauliflower was forgotten and the dessert took an inordinately long time to arrive at the table. Shockingly this is not what irritated me; because of some confusion our party left and while outside I was trying to determine if the bill had been completely settled and because I was unsure my wife and I returned to double check. I asked the hostess to call upstairs to assist she was clueless. I went upstairs and tried to place myself in our waitress's line of vision to get her attention upon which I hear very rudely you can't be back there it's part of the bar from a bald bartender actually behind the bar. Of course as I said it's loud so he doesn't hear me exclaim I am ONLY here to make sure a bill got paid, yes now highly irritated! I was correct an existing tab of 200 plus dollars remained and I had no way to know if it was correct because it was comingled with the part of the bill already settled and none of the drinks ordered afterward were consumed by me. Best part settled the bill with no thank you for making sure this got paid, no manager double checking or assessing what happened, or wannabe keeper of the bar following up to find out what was going to maybe profer a weak apology!? Because as I said it is TOO LOUD. Felt like a yutz for coming back, but then again I wouldn't have been able to sleep but that's just me. This incident will cause me more than likely to never return nor recommend. read more

This is a long-overdue thank you to Dawson, Savannah and Joey on the Dosalas serving staff, who helped make a recent work dinner something our team will be talking talk about for a long time. We had reserved the restaurant's cool back bar area for our group but hadn't really provided any other direction....in short order after we arrived they had us set up with an array of delicious appetizers and one-of-a-kind cocktails. Then at the last minute they were able to find us an adjacent space where we could all sit and enjoy some shared plates such as the tomahawk steak and paella. To top off the evening, the crew brought in fancy champagne and a show-stopping dessert with sparklers. The ambiance was glamorous, the food was terrific, and most of all the servers were warm and attentive. We all had a great time and felt like VIPs. I would highly recommend Dosalas for your next special occasion! read more

Dosalases interior is flashy and loud and it is very impressive. It has a lovely view if you're lucky enough to get a window table. The view at most of the other tables is obstructed by a bar or an outdoor fireplace. According to our hostess if you're a party of 4 or more you have a better chance of getting a table with a view. Reservations do not guarantee you a window table, in fact we had a reservation with a request for a window table and they put us in the bar, with simply a "sorry we're really booked up tonight". Upon my polite request they moved us to a patio table by the door and behind a fireplace bar with barely a view. It was a very warm evening and we sat there for about 5 minutes before our server greeted us. He said he'd bring us some water while we looked over the menu...he never did. We had to ask a hostess for water and she seemed put out to do that. Another 5 minutes passed and she plunked down 2 glasses of water with no ice. We noticed that every other table was given a pitcher of ice water and she clomped off before we could ask her for that. The menu is interesting and has some tasty dishes, but we felt they are mostly overpriced for the quality and service. We went in with high hopes and were disappointed with the service and food. As our favorite tapas restaurants have closed in Portland due to COVID, we were thrilled to have a new tapas place to try in Vancouver for a birthday celebration for 2. We were extremely pleased with the quick service, and the food and drinks exceeded our expectations. The ambience was great. The music was a tad loud when we arrived, but someone did turn it down a bit so ended up being not too crazy loud. We tried 6 dishes and enjoyed them all. Standouts were the tempura cauliflower and the empanadas. We also had the crispy ribs, the brazilian cheese bread, the pork belly and the grilled octopus. The octopus was slightly overdone, but tasty nonetheless. We definitely left full and satisfied. We have noticed some reviews of this restaurant have been subpar, I think because people in Vancouver may not understand tapas, or how a tapas restaurant works. They are small plates on purpose for sharing, order many and try new things! The plates will come out as they are fired/ready, (as they should for tapas) so this is not the type of place where all the food comes at once. Enjoy each as they arrive! We can't wait to go back and try other many of their other offerings. While some may balk at the prices, they were all absolutely within what we would normally pay for a tapas restaurant in PDX. read more

Giving three stars because the food was delicious. However, the not so good 2-star story started with me ordering a spicy margarita, and the server said they could make it mild. Great. "Like Barely Spice" I said. It was delivered and completely undrinkable. My BF, who likes spicy, agreed it was not pleasant and we sent it back. Server was gracious and left it on the table, "just in case" we wanted to try it again. No way. Next, it took over 15 minutes for all of our cocktails to be brought out. Four separate trips to our table to bring them, about 1 every 5 minutes. Then, the same happened with our food: the first entree arrived, then 5 minutes later came the second entree, then another 10 minutes for our entree, the paella for two. Let's talk about the paella: the menu states it has "lobster, seared shrimp, fresh clams, saffron rice." We specifically asked if there was any other meat in the dish and the server said, "No, only seafood." When it arrived, it also had mussels, pork, and chicken. I don't eat pork or chicken (mussels were briny but fine). The server said oh wow they must have updated the menu and I didn't know it. Lame excuse. He did the right thing and comped the dish, and since it took so long I didn't want to wait another 40 minutes, I ate the seafood and picked at the rice, and my BF ate the pork and chicken. Not gonna lie, it tasted delicious but that is a MAJOR problem if the menu is totally wrong and the server doesn't know what is in a dish. I am not as strict of a pescatarian as some, but that $55 dish was not presented properly and could cause problems for others. From that moment, the server hardly came by our table, and we watched the shift manager make his way down the row and greet every table, and then walked by ours and talked to the table across from us and then continued his rounds. He walked by us twice more and did not bother to stop. Bottom line: your drinks and food will not come out all at the same time, and be aware that the dishes are not exactly as the menu describes them. First time there and not a fan. Probably won't be returning for a long time. read more
