They were late, I didn't find out why... but it was probably traffic. However, they are forgiven because their tacos were so good!! They brought al pastor, carnitas, and asada. They also do mulitas (which is basically a quesadilla with meat). They also brought like 4 different salsas, Pico de Gallo, cilantro, onion, pickled cucumber, and horchata. The service was also quick and didn't take too long to set up. They were there for 2 hours. I will definitely be calling them again for another event! And I will be recommending to whomever wants a taquero. I know that initially when my bf's sister was trying to book them, they didn't answer and had to leave a voicemail. It seems that it's a personal number. It took about a day to get the call back. So if you call and are unsure about leaving a voicemail or calling them again, don't hesitate, they will get back to you. Just be patient. When we called again to confirm the date they answered. I normally loveee this food truck. I come here extremely often and everything is good. Today i came and the tacos were so bad. I ordered 4 birria tacos which they asked if i wanted CRISPY which i said yes. I also asked for VERY VERY little cheese on my taco. For some odd reason when I request birria tacos they make it seem as if they cant make them crunchy unless they have cheese so im always forced to get the added cheese just so i can have the tacos crunchy. I can't understand why they can't just make them WITH OUT the cheese! And yes i have asked for them without and they make them just like their reg tacos (soft corn tortillas) so its no longer a birria taco vibe. Anyways.... My tacos came out very hot but extremely soggy AF AND there was soooo much cheese i couldnt eat them. Im pretty sad cause my fat ass is starving but hey it is what it is. Amazing taco truck with incredible food!!! Open till midnight which is rare in Los Angeles. ALL of the meat was outrageously delicious and on top of that, tacos are only $1. I moved to Hawthorne 2 years ago after living in South LA for a while and it has been a real mission finding a good taco spot near me something that of course in South LA is no problem. Well anyways one day we drove by with my husband and noticed the huge line of people standing at this taco truck and we figured we must try it. Eventually we did and wow so delicious. The carne asada is so tender and their arroz con leche is on point. Not overly sweet or thick at all. Let me start off by saying be careful when you pay at this place they literally steal money from you! I have been going to this place for a while now food is good but they definitely are just throwing numbers out they when they charge you. I ordered 4 tacos 2 quesadillas and a sope. When I asked the lady for a receipt she got a bit nervous and told me she would give me the receipt after I got my food. When I receive my food I got no receipt so I went up to the cashier and she was hiding in the truck. I waited patiently in front holding up the line as I knew she would eventually come out. she finally gave me the receipt with scribbled writing and her math did not make sense she added an 8 dollar tax on there which would make it somewhere around an illegal 40% tax for what I ordered when I asked her to do her math correctly she quickly said I got two sodas and that was the extra charge, but I did not get two sodas and I told her why would you put this under tax? She was angry that I had asked for my receipt and caught her on the over charge so quickly said how much do you want me to give you back of how nervous and angry she was. It was only 5 dollars but that is not the point here this place is overcharging people just to make more profit and that is absolutely theft! I hope this review helps you pay with caution and ask for a receipt as I was already aware of the scam due to several other reviews on Yelp. We've been following Lupe and her tacos for a good year now. They started with a street taco stand and have now upgraded to a truck. They are open every night from 6:30 PM to midnight (weekends they are open longer). I come all they way from San Pedro to get her food. Yes, believe me, it is to die for! The tacos have a very generous amount of meat. And the variety of foods they offer will fill any appetite that comes their way. Mulitas are delicious, think of it as a taco/quesadilla, and of course my personal favorite - carne asada tacos. Yumm! We recently moved to the area. As we drove down Crenshae we would see this food truck with a crowd. We finally decided to stop by and see what was the deal. The food is amazing. We definitely love the lengua (tongue), asada and the adobado. It was great. They don't put anything on them, they have a "salad/salsa bar" so you can add as much or as little of onion with cilantro, salsa Verde , salsa of guacamole, or salsa roja. I've been coming to this taco truck for about a year before yesterdays incident. Recently, I've been going 2-3 times a week as well as sharing this spot with others. However last night, the man taking the orders was a complete ignorant, racist towards my boyfriend. My boyfriend and I ordered separately. I asked for a bag since I knew the plate would be full with food, he gave me one and I stepped away. However, when my boyfriend asked for one, he refused to give him one using the excuse that they were for orders that were "to go". Keep in mind that my boyfriend is half black half Mexican so he is aware of what was occurring and was able to fully communicate with him while the man was acting as if he wouldn't have to explain himself as he was only speaking Spanish with him. I went back to ask why he gave me a bag and not my boyfriend when we had THE SAME EXACT ORDER, both to eat at the location. He kept shrugging his shoulders as if he didn't care.
