    Mushroom TRUFFLE CASHEW CREAM

Thin crispy crust. Lowkey casual ambiance yet still nice date spot. Outdoor seating can be noisy on the street but still nice to people watch on the side walk. Truffle pizza is a must if you like mushrooms, it was so delicious and very truffle tasting. The pesto one was also really yummy but not a must.

The little restaurant bar has a surprising number of tables to accommodate diners and provides a cozy plant filled oasis from the bustle of the city. I didn't love the pizza I got, but really that was my fault. I was so curious about the truffle pizza that I ordered it knowing I don't really like mushrooms ‍ And boy does it have a lot of mushrooms!!! That said the crust was perfection the truffle flavor was perfect, and the cashew (I believe) cheese was so delicious I also ordered a basil lemonade and the mango cheesecake. Both were good and the lemonade was a stand out star. I would agree with other reviewers that the cheesecake felt like more of a mango dessert which is fine with me, and I loved the fruit that garnished the plate. I can't remember the last time I had a strawberry with that much flavor. Although I'm not vegan it was a treat to walk into a restaurant and be able to eat anything on the menu without having to worry about dairy contamination. The service was just right and I really would love to come back and try some of the pizzas I would typically order. I can't recommend enough giving it a try. The food at the tables around me looked beautiful!

Truffle pizza is INCREDIBLE!! Wow, I never knew I could like vegan food this much. I find myself craving these dishes all the time. Service is pretty good and restaurant is a bit cramped because of spacing. I don't love that parties are double seated to a bench but hey it's new york. I do love everything I've tried on the menu. Some pizzas aren't particularly unique but I love the dishes that are more than just vegan recreations of normal meals. There are very imaginative menu options that are super tasty and I recommend ordering more of those!!

This was the second time I've come to double zero and it did not disappoint. We stopped in mid afternoon and it was pretty empty. The waiter came over and was very helpful with a wine recommendation. We ordered a pizza and Mac and cheese to share both were delicious. They also have a clean bathroom to use. Ambience is cute nothing spectacular. Nice music.

SERVICE - located off of 3rd avenue near the border of East village and LES - limited outdoor seating and good amount of indoor seating - good for groups of up to 8 people - our server was new that day so he made sure to take care of all of our needs and asked plenty of questions to make sure our order was accurate - ambiance good for a nicer lunch or dinner MENU - appetizers, pizzas, and a few non pizza items - all vegan - gluten free options available - average price ($23 per pizza) FOOD - eggplant parmigiana (7/10): eggplant slices layered with vegan cheddar cheese and coated in tomato sauce. This makes a good dish to share especially if you want something that is not a pizza. The cheese in the middle is very creamy but not cloying. I liked how the eggplant was still somewhat fresh and the brightness of the tomato sauce. - fungi agrodolce (8/10): roasted mushrooms with pistachio yogurt. This was a unique item on the menu so we wanted to try it. I would highly recommend if you are a mushroom lover. The roasted mushrooms take the spotlight with the yogurt being a good vehicle. I would have liked this with some bread or crackers to absorb the flavors. - garden pizza (6/10): garlic cream base topped with corn, shiitake and cremini mushrooms, spinach, and red peppers. This pizza was a bit of a letdown. From the description I was expecting it to be more cohesive but it felt like the ingredients were just put on a base and baked. - squash blossom pizza (9/10): rice mozzarella, cherry tomatoes, squash blossoms, and balsamic drizzle. I really liked this pizza. Both the rice mozzarella and the squash blossom are not typical flavors you would find in a pizzeria. This one incorporated both very well and it had a similar taste to a caprese sandwich. - cheesecake (8/10): cashew cheese topped with berries. This was a good dessert to share at the end of the meal. WOULD I GO BACK? Yes! I liked the food and the ambiance and it is nice to have an Italian spot with more than one vegan option

A friend and I stopped by before going to a comedy club and everything we are was absolutely delicious. We specifically can't here because my friend wanted to check out more vegan options crafted by the same chef and it did not disappoint. As someone who isn't vegan, but hangs out with a lot of vegans, I have to say, this is the best vegan cheese I've ever had on a pizza. It was creamy, had the right texture, 10/10 would have again. The restaurant is lovely and the table setups are perfect for larger groups to reserve. The staff always came over right when we needed something, and the drinks were solid.

Double Zero is another stellar restaurant by Matthew Kinney that has managed to stay alive (RIP Plant Food & Wine and Sestina). The menu here features delicious pizzas and other small plates and pastas. They also have a wonderful drink menu. The Artichoke and Truffle Mushroom Pizzas are some of their most popular pizzas, and I can see why: they were delicious and so full of flavor. I also really loved the crust: thin, but fluffy around the edges. We also tried the Meatballs, which were just okay in my opinion: they were more just like tightly-molded balls of quinoa which I thought was a bit odd, would've preferred a soy-based protein instead. All of the seating inside is countertop, so on a busy evening you may be forced to make a new friend. But from my experience this place doesn't get too busy! If you're looking for good, quality vegan pizza, this is your place!

I went to Double Zero for a vegan friend's birthday. The restaurant is quite small but my friend had made a reservation so we were seated pretty quickly. However, the people in our party all arrived at different times but the staff was very accommodating. A+ in regards to service. There were 11 of us so we just ordered a bunch of pizzas and pasta. To be completely honest I don't remember everything we ordered but I tried it all and it was all quite good. My favorite thing of the night was certainly the Spicy Arabiata pie. The shiitake bacon and cauliflower added some great texture and flavor to the pie and a nice helping of basil on top was refreshing. The crust on all of the pies was nice and crisp with the right amount of char. Another pie I really enjoyed was the Basil Sunflower Pesto. It's definitely a more exotic type of pizza, but as a fan of pesto I was very pleased. My favorite of the pastas was the Cacio e Pepe. It wasn't too heavy and the flavor was simple and clean (in a good way). The pasta was cooked well with a nice chew to it. For a return visit I'd probably get this again. The food is a little pricey but it was very good. I wouldn't mind coming back.

Love their food! My favorite is the basil sunflower pesto. The cashew ricotta is incredible, with a texture reminiscent of actual ricotta. (Better than the vegan mozzarella, which, while good, is a little far off from actual mozzarella.) The meatballs are also a super tasty and nutritious option.

I think this is my new NYC favorite eatery! The ambiance was fun, and the food was spectacular. As a non-vegan the cashew cream and cashew mozzarella in dishes worked as believable alternatives. The flavor profile in every dish was balanced perfectly. I'll definitely be coming back!

Double zero never disappoints! Vegan Italian food made with quality ingredients, had the best server Hector who was very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu and its ingredients kind of a tight space but the environment is family style. So you have to make yourself comfortable. Tables are long high top tables that are sometime communal due to seating availability. We sat at the bar , which had the perfect view of the warm brick fire oven , really enjoyed seeing the guys prepare pizza by hand with care !

I don't usually write reviews, but WOW I had the most incredible experience today. My wife and I have been Double Zero customers since 2015 and we love their food, wine, and service. We frequently bring family and friends when they visit NYC and it always makes for a special time. It was raining today and we ordered three pizzas for delivery. The courier only delivered one pizza, so I called the restaurant and they asked me to request help through my delivery app. The app canceled the missing items and gave me credits, so...problem solved? Nope! I called the restaurant again just to inform them that my remaining items were canceled and that they could now do whatever they wanted with those pizzas. Instead of hanging up, they asked for my address and said that they would personally deliver them free of charge. When I opened my door a short while later, the owner Kyle was standing there with a big smile on his face. He was thrilled to complete my order and he refused a tip that I tried to hand him. Now THAT is customer service! As usually, the food tastes incredible and makes us feel great afterwards. Many thanks to a special restaurant and a special owner here in the East Village. Bravo!

This was a pretty mediocre Caesar salad, but got the job done. For entrees, most of us ordered pasta dishes but none of them were stellar. My Ravioli Di Crostacei was pretty bland and my partner's Spaghetti Bolognese just tasted like the pasta you could make at home. Baba Al Rum was also tasty, as was the Orecchiette. Rigatoni was salty, but well-flavored. I visited a popular Italian restaurant from the Union Square Hospitality group with a group of five others. The restaurant is quite large, and although it was somewhat noisy, the tables were spaced apart enough that it was easy to hear everyone. We had an early dinner at 5:45 PM, which took quite a while, but I didn't mind. To drink, I went with the Bitter Giuseppe for $19, with Cynar 45.3, Punt e Mes, lemon, and sea salt. I'm a fan of most Negronis, and this was a particularly bitter version. The bit of lemon and sea salt added a unique but enjoyable flavor at the end, though in retrospect, the salt probably wasn't super necessary. Two of us split, and eventually, a few of us ordered their signature appetizer, the $18 Cast Iron Focaccia, with tomato conserva, a mixture of crushed tomatoes, olive oil, and Calabrian chili. The bread was fresh and warm, albeit a tad oily and salty, but it paired wonderfully with the conserva. As someone who doesn't like it when bread is extra, this was delicious and worth it. Another person ordered the $18 Insalata Verde. It was very large, but fairly basic, with a vinaigrette that had a citrusy and mustardy flavor. There was also the Caramelized Onion Torta for $27, which was very large, as expected for the price point. It had a creamy and tangy flavor from the Pecorino Toscano with some sweetness from the onion. It was delicious, but very heavy, and I would recommend that around three or four people split it alongside the focaccia. Finally, there was also the $15 Pizza Bianca, which was easily the smallest of all the plates, but they still enjoyed it. My main dish was the Orecchiette for $26, with ramps, pistachio, and pecorino. Like most of their dishes, the portion size was quite large, with plenty of pasta, which was perfectly cooked. The ramps added a touch of sweetness, although I would have liked a few more nuts. Additionally, there was almost too much pecorino, which made the dish slightly salty, but it was still enjoyable. As a side, I got the $19 Grilled Asparagus with dates, vermouth, and blue cheese, which came with many pieces of lightly charred asparagus. While there was plenty of funky blue cheese, I would have preferred more dates. Two of the others got the Rigatoni Alla Gricia for $30. The portion was large, and I tried a bit while they tried mine. The noodles were again cooked perfectly, and while there was a lot of guanciale, this was easily the saltiest of all the dishes. For dessert, I chose their Baba AU Rum for $18, which was uniquely mixed with chocolate and orange. The presentation was a bit off, as it looked like a certain emoji, but the flavor made up for it. The subtle hint of rum paired with the bitter-sweet chocolate and orange. The dark chocolate-covered orange slice on top was a nice touch as well. Someone else got a tart, and one other person got the Gelati, which resulted in one of the only faults during service. She heard it was two scoops, and ordered espresso stracciatella and hazelnut, but was given two separate orders for $12 each. The gelato was good, but unlike most things, definitely not worth it for the price. I liked the appetizers much more, but I found the food good overall. Tasty dessert, and the portions make up at least a bit for the relatively higher prices.

While it can be tricky to get a reservation during prime dinner time, it's relatively easy to get a lunch reservation - or an early/late dinner. The main star of the menu is pasta, but they also have a few non-pasta mains as well as some crudo selections, apps, and sides. We decided to get a few apps, two pastas, and one side. To start, we went with the octopus, roasted mushrooms, burrata crostone, and focaccia. These were all really good, but my favorite was the mushrooms. I'm usually not a fan of mushrooms but these were prepared with red pepper and fried egg and were delicious; it cut through the earthiness and changed the texture to something I really enjoyed. The focaccia was also a standout - it's house made and was paired with a peppery oil that complemented the bread well. For mains we split two pastas - the caccio e pepe and the rigatoni. Both of these were very good, though I felt the rigatoni was the stronger dish. It was prepared with sausage ragu, soppressata, broccoli rabe pesto, and pecorino. The flavors worked really well together and the pasta was cooked al dente. The caccio e pepe was perfectly fine, I just feel it's been overplayed and didn't feel there was anything that stood out amongst the others I've tried. We also got a broccoli rabe as a side which was great. We couldn't leave without dessert and decided to get their olive oil cake and quattro formaggio cheesecake. The restaurant is known for the former - it was perfectly fine but I've had olive oil cakes elsewhere of the same or better quality. The cheesecake was the stronger dessert IMO - the combination of cheeses gave it an interesting, almost savory flavor. The brûlée top and mascerated strawberries were great texture and flavor complements. Service was great - the place was packed but service was consistently on point and everyone was friendly. Overall, I had a good experience at L'Artusi. While everything was very good, I'm struggling to find the exact reason why this place became such a hot spot compared to other Italian spots in the city. Nevertheless, you'll have a good meal here and I would definitely return if given the opportunity.

It was difficult getting a reservation for the time we wanted so I booked for 45 minutes later. We…read morearrived at our desired time, told the hostess we were early and immediately seated. Water and excellent bread arrived immediately and the waiter was helpful describing dishes and giving advice. Salads were fresh and crisp. Caesar was nicely dressed and the mixed salad was a nice combination with well balanced herb vinaigrette. Seafood dishes had large amounts of fresh seafood and the veal picatta had the lemony flavor you expect without excessive acidity. Dessert was tasty and innovative. The ricotta based cheese cake wasn't as smooth as the cream cheese form but the citrus flavor was great. Throughout the meal water and bread were refilled, plates from completed courses removed and next delivered without being overly hovering. All in all a really great meal.

This was my first time at this restaurant and the only reason I selected it was because it was…read moreclose to the theatre I was attending (literally across the street). I read the reviews mostly good so I was hoping for the best. My friends and I were not disappointed. The first thing I noticed was there were 7 people in my party and 4 arrived early and did not have to wait for my arrival to be seated. Second the waiter who took our order was polite and on point with specials and knowledge of the menu. He (just never caught his name) suggested the Rigatoni which chicken and sausage. I am not really a pasta eater but baby that dish could change that; it was DELICIOUS. I even liked the anchovy dressing on my Caesar Salad and I dislike anchovies. All the dishes ordered (chicken parm, mussels chicken paillard etc.) everyone enjoyed them immensely. The only negative was when the Chicken Paiikard arrived it was supposed to a shared dish by the elderly couple and they asked for regular dinner plates from one of the servers. It took the gentleman who took our order to step in and said sure, lucky their food was still hot. Common Sense is not so common for all. But this will not lower my rating as it was taken care of swiftly. The portions were the perfect size and I was not stuffed but pleasantly satified. We told them the time of our show, food was out quickly, nicely presented, still hot and very tasty. The restaurant was not noisy and had space between the tables. It also had an elevator for those who could not manage stairs. Trattoria Trecolori you will be added to my must go again list! Thank for a wonderful experience!
