No lie me and the husband unit were going to try Freiheit but we decided to come here instead and we are glad we did! We got to try the pepperoni rolls they have and while I'm a ranch lover their homemade marinara sauce was on point. Husband got a personal pepperoni and mushroom. He thought he wouldn't be able to finish it but he loved it and polished it off. I had the chicken cordon bleu sandwich and it was so good! My only complaint is they didn't have Pepsi zero. I drank unsweetened tea with some sweet n low instead. But that doesn't take away from the food because it was great. We also had an Apple strudel for dessert. It was so good. Wow wow wow. I've never seen a pepperoni pizza made with so much love and attention. It's true that you eat with your eyes first - the pepperoni pizza that we had lined up so perfectly, it's almost too pretty to eat!! I had the garlic spinach Stromboli and it's a green cheesy piece of deliciousness, a perfect balance of naughty and nice . We also came for the buffet one time, I had their cinnamon pizza and the strudel and they're to die for! You can see people making and tossing your pizza at the store, and I had a quick glimpse of someone get what looked like sliced green peppers. I know friends who worked at other pizza stores, and let me tell you, they don't use fresh ingredients. So I'm pleasantly happy that Double Dave's uses fresh ingredients. The only con I could think of is sometimes it takes a while to get the order out, which I understand sometimes the kitchen gets busy. If they can improve the turnaround time, I'd give them 6 out of 5 stars. I hope they will at some point. Overall, we like Double Dave's a lot. It's our go-to pizza place. When you become an adult and decide to upgrade from cheap college pizzas, Double Dave's is your store! read more

They have pizza of the month, sandwiches and salad bar, beer on tap, and of course the pizza rolls! For something a little different this one offers a Cauli-power crust that is crunchy and light and gluten free! Good for gluten free people as well as someone wanting to try something different. I couldn't wait to try this place my son says he really likes them. I ordered a philly cheesesteak it wasn't bad wasn't overflowing with meat and cheese but had a good taste,my kids had the pizza it was pretty good the Italian sausage had a great flavor.My daughter is a big fan of their peproni rolls not bad but I not a fan of a lot of breading but it was good.Place was clean not a lot of seating so we took it to go. It will be tough to compete with New York Pizza pub but it is closer to town in a great location and I will be trying it again. read more

Bear with me here. We ordered two pizzas and a dessert this evening from DoubleDave's. Our food was delivered by someone new and one of the pizzas got messed up pretty bad. It looked like it was probably held or dropped sideways, as it was collapsed into one side of the box and the cheese was all sliding off and bumping together. When we called in to talk to them about it, they said they would make another and get it out to us. The owner himself delivered our fresh pizza! He explained to us the girl was new (totally fine, stuff happens), but I honestly could not have imagined such top notch service for a simple to resolve mistake. This place has definitely earned repeat business from us! We ordered a pepperoni with hand tossed crust and a meateater with thin crust. I thought both pizzas were good. The sauce wasn't the best I've ever tasted. They had Pepsi products, which I was excited about. The salad bar was great and had lots of items to choose from. Next time we're definitely trying the wings and sandwiches. read more

I have to give this place one star because the system will not let me give them zero stars. Trust me, the review is a ZERO STAR REVIEW. Unfortunately I cannot rate this pizza joint. I recently moved to New Braunfels and called this place up to see if they would deliver to my location but they claimed I was a 20+ minute drive away and they would not deliver. This is a bunch of crap, I can leave my home and be in their parking lot in 10 minutes. When I called back to discuss why they would not deliver to my home I got the same response that I was 20+ minutes from them and when I challenged their claim the manager hung up on me. I have never tried their pizza so I cannot say how good it is but I have lived in larger cities where a pizza place was more than 7 miles from me and they still delivered a pizza to my doorstep and it was there in 15 minutes. My review is really a no star review because their delivery range is absurdly small and their staff is incredibly rude. read more

Thought we would try Double Daves tonight.... Called in our order... one large caesar salad and one large 1/2 hamburger and jalepenos, 1/2 pepperoni. Got there and they couldn't find the pizza, had his name wrong. Not very friendly either! Got home and we received a pepperoni all over with half hamburger and jalapenos thrown on top of half of it. This small little place looks like it has potential. I was greeted promptly and able to order very fast. I was forewarned that my wings would take some time but order should be ready in 35 minutes. Unfortunately more than an hour went by before I received my food. The party I was with all received their pizzas and finished them well before the kitchen looked like they were getting to my order. At first she told me there was no pick up for me,then I called my Boyfriend and confirmed he did call it in a pay. She then said she found it and it needed to be made. AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COST! I am from San Antonio and ate at Double Dave's for years at McAllister Park and Stone Oak. I knew the owners and they were the ultimate in professionalism and customer service. This place in NB manager on duty this past Saturday. 19th, was beyond rude. He called us and claimed we swore at his delivery driver. He claimed we said F off to their driver and proceeded to say our business was not welcome. He would not listen to reason and if he had done his job he would have seen we tipped and said thank you to his driver. FYI, I am a Sr VP w a franchise company and I would NEVER tolerate anyone speaking like that to our clients. Brand reputation is all you have in the market and my fiancé is a business owner and we will make sure our awful experience is told by us to everyone we come in contact with....patrons yay our business, Chamber and church. We went to DoubleDave's yesterday to pick up a pizza. This was our first time there, and it looked very nice. This view lasted until the "gentleman" actually making the pizza started yelling at his coworker in a very rude and unprofessional manner. We left, and won't be going back. Couldn't order beer without the Owner's help as the register attendant didn't know anything about their beers or the pricing? We were the only couple present on a Weekend afternoon, yet there were easily 7 employees. What was weird is that many tables were dirty, un-bussed, and the self-serve areas were littered with trash, etc., while the Owner was there. The pizza was very ordinary. Almost bland.
