We went in for afternoon brunch on last Sunday, they were busy so we had to wait for a little while, no big deal. Coffee station would be a good idea or server to get coffee for people waiting. I was with my wife, daughter- in -law , my mother-in -law and my two year old granddaughter. I'm thinking to myself,"do they have a Bloody Mary bar? " I will say it went better than I thought it would go, mother in law is diabetic, not a problem just needed carb count information, no big deal they had it. My wife and my mother-in law order lunch sandwiches, both said bread was hard on edges but sandwich was good. ( The Ruth iS the name of sandwich, spin off Rueben. I ordered Green Chili Beef Asada and daughter-in-law ordered breakfast bowl. like spicy green chili, this was not. The dish is like a deconstructed beef breakfast burritos, it was ok I just want more heat. My daughter-in-law said her food was good she had a breakfast bowl, said she would not order again. We will go back and try again, I think it was not what we expected and that may be due to what we ordered. We will try something different next time. read more

This is the first time I have ever been disappointed in dougs, I was scared to eat the food. I went in was masked up and excited to be supporting my favorite breakfast place, and walked in to see the person handing me my food had no mask, I saw no masks ANYWHERE... I was so upset, we washed off the containers and such, the food was still great but it might be the last time I ever eat there, so sad they don't care about their customer's lives. so so sad. Another win for Doug's. A guest told me about this location and how they serve lunch/dinner some days...how cool! This location has a modern look and is super easy to get to...lots of parking. The staff is just as amazing as the downtown Loveland location. They were all friendly, efficient and just a pleasure. I stuck with breakfast because I just love their offerings. I of course ordered a side of bacon because it is the best (seriously, try their bacon). My husband tried a burger and enjoyed it. They switch up their homemade jam and you can purchase some to go (the in-season ones) so we took home peach jam...it was so amazing. If you haven't tried Doug's, give them a chance. I believe our waitresses name was Ali, she had the cute fox apron. She was amazing and the service was fantastic. *Small disclaimer - we ate at the Loveland location this weekend but I have eaten lunch at the Council Tree spot earlier. Realizing we had no bones in the cupboard a la Mother Hubbard, we trekked out in search of nourishment. We landed at Doug's Day Diner and settled at the counter. I love sitting at the counter, especially at a diner. The only drawback is that the counter is right by the front door so we kept getting gusts of cold wind every time someone opened the door which was often. My husband ordered the turkey sausage burrito and this thing is massive. Like feed a small village massive. He commented that the portion could be reduced, still fill you up and give the diner a bigger profit margin! I, on the other hand, got the skinny "Whimpie" and got a rather small bowl of food. There seems to be a huge discrepancy in their portions. It was actually a perfect size if you want to be hungry again later in the day. I opted for the green chili and it was the perfect amount of heat. We will definitely be back and might even make this a regular breakfast spot. read more

I hand never been here until the other day. And wow!! It was sooooooooo good. And the portion are ridiculous! I mean really. A friend and I went here and we didn't realize how big the portions were and ordered an omelette to share some French toast and an extra biscuit and we couldn't finish it for the life of us. Update: five star again. I can't say often enough how great this place is. Wonderful food, big portions with good cost, friendly staff and on Mother's Day when they were PACKED they still rocked it. Vanessa was great. Only thing I would ask for is a txt alert or something for busy days which would make waiting easier. Came here solo for elevensies on a Saturday. I was drawn in first from the Yelp reviews, and then by the promise of local, fresh fare. I'm not terribly familiar with this area of FoCo and was surprised at the location. It's in a new area of shopping centers but Doug's has a very homey, hole-in-the-wall feel. (That's a good thing in my book.) They were busy but not packed and they managed the flow very well. My waitress was attentive, effervescent, and friendly but not overbearing. As other reviewers have noted the portions are quite generous. My food was hot and flavorful. The eggs were just right, the hash browns were crispy, and the green chile was savory. (Though the chile can always be hotter for my palate!) I've bookmarked Doug's to share with the rest of my crew when we have another breakfast opportunity in FoCo. read more

I had a friend talking it up a lot, and maybe I am giving it a 3 star because I was expecting more the way my friend was talking. The portions are huge, don't make the mistake of getting 2 meals if you are with someone just share 1 meal you'll both be stuffed I promise. My theory with restaurants is if you give huge portions you have to go cheaper on the quality, that seemed to be the case here. Maybe I am being picky, but I felt like I was in my uncles living room and not in a restaurant. I am not sure why the atmosphere felt weird, maybe it was carpet? Had Saturday breakfast/brunch in anticipation of a much hyped blizzard that never really hit FC. Gotta love #cowx. Portion sizes amazing, food served hot and promptly by a fantastic, friendly and very attentive server (thanx, Allie!) We were stuffed until dinner time. Everything was great. See the pic I posted of the country steak. The only thing holding me back from a five stars rating is pricing. Breakfast for two at a diner, no matter how good, just shouldn't be almost $30 for two entrees and coffee's. We picked items in the middle of the menu's price range. Worth the wait. You get delicious food for a fair price. I'm from New Mexico and this is the closest I've come to finding authentic red Chile in Northern Colorado. Doug's is one of the few places that serves up a burrito with red and green Chile that actually has big flavor. Avoid the weekends as it can be very crowded but definitely give it a try. read more

What a great find! My friends and I came here for a morning after college football breakfast. I had the Carne Asada Papas plate with red & green chile sauce and two eggs over hard. It was huge and delicious. I couldn't finish the plate even though I really wanted to. The Tri-tip was slow cooked to keep it really flavorful but not tough at all. The chile sauces had nice flavor with just a touch of heat in the finish. This breakfast definitely cured what was ailing me that morning! My friends each had the Lil' Billy. They raved about the biscuit and the bacon. The biscuit was scratch made, rich and just dense enough to hold the gravy without becoming mush. The bacon was super thick and not over cooked. The service was friendly and attentive but not overly pushy. If you find yourself in Fort Collins looking for breakfast, Doug's Day Diner needs to be on your short list! read more
