Good morning, friends. Honestly, I don't recommend this place for several reasons. The food was served cold and not all the dishes we ordered arrived. We ordered two coffees, and they arrived after an hour, and only one came. They give me a free a strawberry drink that I never drink, My wife had to cancel her drink. I called the manager, who also had a terrible attitude. They should know that businesses need to learn from criticism, but they didn't accept it. (To make a long story short, I do not recommend this place. The prices are also very expensive) pay for 2 plates and 1 coffe $50 read more

I usually don't write reviews, but saw a bad review posted dragging the business for poor service. We also received the "sit anywhere you'd like", which we appreciated having the choice to seat ourselves since it was not busy. The host provided us menus after we sat down and was excited to hear it was our first time. While we looked through the menu, the host came to our table to bring us a sample of their delicious cafe de olla in these cute Santa shot cups. We ordered our food, and everything was tasty! We definitely couldn't finish our plates so we took almost half of our plates home to enjoy later. As a customer, I don't expect niceness, but I do expect service. IMO. I'm happy to say that I received both though, which was great! Maybe sometimes all it takes is to be nice, as a customer. I will definitely be returning to try other items on the menu. read more

We came in early on a Saturday morning with my family--there were four of us total. It was a little busy but not overly crowded, and there were still plenty of empty tables. We waited at the front to be seated and asked if we should wait or pick any open table. The staff told us to go ahead and choose any empty table, so we did. After sitting down, we waited about 15 minutes and no one came to acknowledge us or take our order. Our table was right in the middle of the dining area, so it wasn't tucked away or difficult to notice. I eventually went up to the register to ask if we were supposed to order there or wait for a server. They told me someone would come to the table. We waited another 10 minutes before a waiter finally came over, introduced himself, and apologized for the delay, saying he'd be right back to get our drink orders . Unfortunately, he never returned--even though he was helping other tables nearby. After waiting so long without any service, we ended up leaving. We drove 35 minutes just to try this place, so it was really disappointing to have that experience.The service we received was unfortunately very poor. read more

I didn't know what to expect coming here this morning, I just know I was hungry this morning and I was excited to try this place. Walking in, there were a few open tables and it took a few minutes for the girl at the front to seat us. We sat down and it took quite a bit to even get menus, so my friend got up and got menus for us. Our server was extremely nice and kind, but it just seems like there is a lack of urgency and communication from the people that that work here. Ordered cafe de olla, which was good but it wasn't hot, it was warm. The server brought us a second one and it was STILL not hot after telling her. Ordered chicken and waffles. Big mistake. Waffles tasted like Eggos waffles and the chicken tasted like nuggets. Not to mention that the food came all at separate times and it took about 40 minutes to get our food. Luckily the kids meals came out first. Again, our server was very kind but I don't know if I'd be willing to give this place a second chance. This place is a little tucked away but it was very good. The inside is very aesthetically pleasing and clean. The food was delicious and full of flavor. Food was delicious! I got the chilaquiles and my dad got the chorizo skillet. The salsa verde had a nice kick and the overall flavors were very good. The drinks, on the other hand were not good. My mom got a hot chocolate that was watery and I got the early grey matcha. The matcha by itself was super bitter and astringent even though it was also watered down. Once I mixed it with the milk the color all but disappeared - it tasted like I was iust drinking a glass of earl grey oat milk. read more

First time at Dova Cafe for Sunday brunch. We read reviews on Yelp. The iced cafe horchata latte was really as close to perfect as it gets. Yes, it tasted like horchata, coffee forward, and correct level of sweetness. The French Toast Delight is made with brioche bread which I like. The meal was more than enough for 2 people to share. This was my second time here, and I can't begin to explain how disappointed I am. My waitress Carla didn't even talk to us or ever ask us if we need anything. We literally had to ask for refills and condiments. It's basic customer service to just ask how the food is and be friendly. I have never experienced such a rude waitress. As soon as I was leaving she was talking to her new table, but couldn't say a word to me and my friends? The restaurant is pretty and the food is good but I will not be back. I also spoke to one of the owners about our waitress and she just offered us a matcha and said sorry but honestly it was an empty apology. She just walked away to go check on other tables and chat it up.. The portions are tiny for the amount you pay. The restaurant has a very classy feel, I think they should stick to glass cups not to go ones in my opinion. read more

Found this Gem of a spot looking for a place to meet up with a wonderful friend. The building is covered in beautiful mural making it even more exciting to see the inside, once you enter you'll feel relaxed and ready to sit and listen to the Playlist while checking out the menu. We decided to try the veggie omelet, the cafè de Olla was delicious. We were treated with a suprise crepe because we were there too celebrate our birthdays my personal opinion is you can't go wrong with anything on the menu! So this place will definitely become a regular and I will spread the word. Drinks were good. However, i ordered French toast and eggs and it took too long to come out and when it did it was cold. Presentation was great but when i went to eat it i was disappointed. It seemed as if it had been sitting for the amount of time i waited for my food. About 30-35 minutes. The whole time all employees were chit chatting in the kitchen. I told waiter and he took my food and basically put in microwave. When brought out bananas and fruit on toast also was heated. I wanted to talk to manager and he was not in. The service was generally ok - our waitress was accommodating even though one of our two coffees brought out after 20 minutes. Unfortunately the food was poor. Toast on the side and the sourdough used for a breakfast sandwich were saturated in butter. The side of potatoes for my omelette were likewise very grease and looks I was served the bottom of the batch, skin scraps. Our breakfast sandwich was brought out without avocados, they agreed afterwards to bring a side order of them. Getting the bill took some time as well. As for the ambiance, it was ok and then decided to cover window with black trash bags for shade. The bathroom was filthy and had no soap or paper. I drove all the way from Whittier because of a Tiktok I saw and they did not disappoint! It is a family owner business with a very small staff, which is understandable for the start. Their service was incredible and I'll definitely be back again soon! I will say that they are still in their soft opening still so please bare with them if wait times are a little longer than normal. My overall experience was lackluster, and here's why: Ordered the strawberry fields matcha, which came out extremely watered down. The waitress was kind enough to give a replacement with a different requested drink. We ordered two dishes, both of which taking 30 minutes to come out with only one other table in the restaurant. The panini steak sandwich came out with the wrong type of fries that I didn't order. The sandwich also only had meat at the front of it, so 75% off the sandwich was bread and veggies. Mind you, the sandwich was $19. The chicken and waffles I ordered was mediocre, tasting like the chicken came from a store bought bag, and the waffles from a box. I also needed to request butter on the side, as none came out with the food. The food overall was overpriced for what was received. The total came out to $57 for two dishes and two drinks. The only redeemable quality of this experience was the pumpkin spice, and Nutella lattes. EDIT: Response to Rar G. I appreciate the prompt reply. That shows somewhat of a willingness to work with your customers regarding their grievances. However, it seems as though you're equating a finished meal to a satisfactory experience. We happened to be in a time crunch with no spare time to find another restaurant to eat at after waiting 30+ minutes to receive our food. I'm trying to come at this from a purely objective perspective in hopes to help your business. This meal can be described as nothing more than sustenance. Which definitely deserves the term "lackluster" considering the prices for each dish. I hope you take this criticism and apply it logically to improve your business rather than taking it emotionally as a personal attack against you. This brunch spot is designed really well and the menu items are a draw in. The blueberry lemonade is delicious!Unfortunately, I was disappointed with the food. My food came out cold and the bacon was under cooked for my taste. A few suggestions, add salt and pepper to the table.
