The place does cook some good tasting food, so I used to put an effort to recommend it for brunch and dinner and put a copy of a menu in our place. Due to Covid, my husband & I don't like to eat inside of restaurants, so we have been ordering "to go". A place where the service was better than the food. In the restaurant's valiant attempt to serve the GF crowd, the liberal use of thick rice-flour based hamburger buns for sandwiches does not work. Especially when the meat (in this case sliced "something" for a French dip) is relatively tasteless. Of course, let us not forget the significant upcharge for the GF bun. And does a restaurant serving French dip really have to include a soup bowl-sized portion of au jus? It did nothing to add to the flavor, (although the UNTOASTED GF hamburger bun loved to fall apart in it. Hint: TOAST the bun, at minimum). Again, thank goodness the service was excellent. As for feedback on the other meals at the table, not sure. No one said anything - so I guess theirs was just OK, as well. Like most Americans, we smile and thank the server. Perhaps other items on their allergen restricted menu would be better. Would we go back? Probably not. Too many other restaurants in Spokane to try. read more

Well we hadn't been here for awhile and it's probably gonna be awhile before we come back. Decided to stop by for a Friday lunch and usually enjoy the service and the food. Well not this time. Food was mediocre and server was really sweet, however, too busy doing what? we don't know. We came after the lunch rush and it wasn't busy but our food was cold and just "ok". Took a bit to get water and a bottle of wine we ordered with maybe four tables max in the restaurant. We love Gorgonzola fries but they had no flavor and were so cold the melted cheese had cooled enough it was hard again. French dip was hot but dip was cold. We came here with some friends who were hungry and wanting to drink. I didn't eat enough to rate this a five star place. The service was good and they were attentive but I think I'll need to make this place my next restaurant to go to when I'll order more than soup and a drink. We were seated outside and the weather was amazingly perfect. We were constantly attended by our waitress which was great. We ordered some fries as an appetizer and they were pretty filling for the type of fries they were. (See pictures) My friends ordered steak and chicken and let me just say the plate was presented very well. They both seemed to enjoy everything. I had their shrimp bisque which was alright for my taste. It had a tomato soup essence to it, and don't get me wrong. I love tomato soup, it just tasted like it also had some hint of shrimp. Honestly the first shrimp bisque I've ever had so if find any more I'll let you know when my pallet is more refined. This place is great for Wednesday because they always got a special burger deal going on every week. The chips they serve with the burgers are really dry it must be deep fried I wouldn't recommend. One thing that sucks is the parking you better get here before 12 o'clock rush hour or else you be parking on the street. The Benedict was out of this world and the corn breafish muffin was different and amazing with its tenderness and flavor. The wagu french dip was tender and flavorful. A friend recommended this place while I was in town so I stopped in for dinner. What a great looking place! I like the dark wood styling and beautiful paintings... and the music was very cool too; oldies from the 30's and 40's and some jazz too (and at just the right volume). The place feels like a really classy pub. A very nice place to have dinner. My server was great; very nice and very helpful. Finally, the food.... Very good! I had Calamari for an appetizer and Clam and Prawn Fettuccini Alfredo for my main dish. It was also excellent. For desert I tried the Crème Brule and it was amazing! So, why not five stars? Well, a couple of reasons. The truth is, I really almost gave them 5 because I had a very nice dining experience. That having been said, besides the fact that I've only visited here once, I wasn't "wowed" by anything in particular. The food was really very good and I have no complaints, except to say that nothing made me go "OH WOW THIS IS THE MOST AMAZING THING I'VE EVER TASTED!" Or like Steven Colbert once said, "It's like angels giving birth in my mouth!" LOL The place is also pretty expensive. My meal ticket was $40 (not to mention the tip)... So, over-all, great place, really great food, excellent service... but not awesome food and very pricey. If you want to eat good food, and have a great service... You want to eat here. We had the Caesar salad with herbed prons added onto it, and it was exceptional. The croutons were a little bit hard but everything else is so delicious including the grilled lemon that it made up for it. We also had the Oso Buco, and split it which is a really good idea since it is gigantic. The sauce is a demi-glace with orange zest. I thought that it might end up being a little bit sweet but it is not it has a great meaty flavor with the essence of orange that you can just taste for the aftertaste. My wife and I have enjoyed delicious two dinners here with excellent service. Today we had the misfortune of trying to enjoy a Sunday Brunch. My wife's hash was served hot with eggs to order. My identical meal was served lukewarm with overcooked eggs - which I sent back! It's hard to comprehend a professional kitchen not being able to produce two identical meals, one well prepared and the other with overcooked eggs and served lukewarm. In addition, silverware was not placed on the table and the server did not attend our table to insure we had both condiments and drinks. Today, 3-3-19 was the WORST DINING EXPERIENCE I've ever encountered in ANY Northwestern Restaurant!!!!. I'll NEVER Return to be so insulted again!! This One star review is ONE STAR TOO MUCH!! When the Wait Staff, Kitchen & Management of a FOUR STAR Restaurant let a disgruntled customer walk out of their restaurant, disgruntled because of Miserable service from Server, the Kitchen and Management, I have no incentive to return for any reason! The Restaurant owns this failure as there was NO COMMUNICATION BETWEEN any restaurant personnel and myself to ease my growing displeasure with the poor service we endured. I really feel as though this is one of the most underrated restaurants in Spokane. I've eaten here several different times and it has been amazing every single time. They have good deals, like the "burger of the moment", and reasonable prices. It has the feel of an upscale restaurant but without the crazy expensive prices. The outside seating area is lovely during the warmer months. They have raised garden beds where they grow their own herbs, and I have seen waiters dump out any unused water left on tables on the garden beds. I always thought that was pretty cool. This restaurant is kind of near Audubon park so it's in a really beautiful area of the city. I love coming here! read more

Dropped into the grill for dinner before a show. At first, we marinated at our table, in a server dead-zone for about 15 minutes. Not promising. Finally, a server with more experience recognized our plight and interceded, though we were not her table. Stephanie profusely apologized and subsequently we were treated to a scene resembling Monty Python's "Dirty Fork" sketch; with the original absent server and finally the executive chef himself coming to our table to express regret. Their sincerity was refreshing and came with the offer of comped dessert for us both. The grill is casually elegant with comfortable seating. The tables are a bit close but the atmosphere was cozy and quiet during our visit. We ordered a bottle of pinot and the signature cups of shrimp bisque, delicious! Dinner was cioppino and osso bucco. The meals presented very well and were wonderfully flavorful. Dining like this can really kill conversation. I ate like someone was about to steal my plate at any second!! The comped desserts were chocolate cake and bread pudding. Both were absolutely dreamy and paired well with the house blend coffee. We ordered Gorgonzola fries, and they were really good. The calamari was a bit chewy and under season, but with salt, pepper and the sauce was good. The shrimp bisque was excellent. My husband had the 6 oz steak with au gratin potatoes. The steak was cooked perfectly and potatoes were tasty. Children's menu is a plus. Holy heck! This place is AMAZING. Went with my brother for a belated birthday brunch. SO good! My brother says this is his new favorite restaurant.
