What can I say - this place lives up to the hype. We've come back time after time and have never been disappointed with the food. As for the service, BEWARE and BE PREPARED. You will undoubtedly wait at least 35 minutes for anything and everything in the menu, at anytime of the day, on any day of the week. Take my word for it. This time around, we came over on a late Friday morning around 11:30. We were parked (good luck finding street parking btw) and had ordered the Chicken & Waffles and a side of Grits by 11:42. With about 5 orders ahead of us, and the cashier screaming each name out of the pick-up window, we were back in the car eating at exactly 12:38. Madness I tell you. We've been meaning to try Drae's since we moved to the area but the hours are short and usually conflict with work and other obligations. I made a choice today to just make it happen, and I'm so glad. Yes, the grits are greasy, but they have cheese and bacon on them and if they weren't, I'd be real suspect. They taste incredible and the portion is ridiculously huge for the cost. I don't think I managed to eat a quarter of them and will have them for dinner and lunch tomorrow, too. This place has the best Wings and Chicken Tenders in WA! They are breaded and fried to perfection. It's crunchy on the outside and juicy on the inside. They make the food upon ordering, so it's fresh and hot. Don't expect fast food, but it's totally worth the wait. We ordered a 1 lbs of tenders (1/2 original and 1/2 spicy). With ranch and maple aioli. The sauces were awesome and definitely tasted great with the tenders. I also ordered a 1 lbs of lemon pepper wings, and it was delicious! The pepper and lemon sauce had the right amount of kick and tart to it, not overpowering the wings at all. It was mastery where the wings again, had a nice crunch but didn't make the wings soggy. It was culinary harmony on full display to tantalize your tastebuds. My wife also ordered the chicken waffle slider sandwich which she said was great. The waffles as buns looked like they were perfectly toasted and had enough thickness to absorb the grease and not get soggy. Then we also ordered kale salad and Mac & Cheese. The kale salad was refreshing and the Mac & Cheese had penne noodles and 3 cheeses, something you would expect at a steak house. And sweet potato fries with a fry sauce, since I'm on Keto I can't tell you if it was good personally but my wife and kiddos loved it. Drae's Lake Route has the best catfish that I've eaten in quite some time. I am originally from Mississippi which is home to the town that is designated the catfish capital of the world.
