Literally the entire time we were sitting down everyone at the table (4 people) was swiping their hand trying to keep them away but no avail. I thoroughly enjoyed going to the old location, and I'm happy to see that this new location is even better. The decor is so fresh and modern, and the food is great. I've come to the new location a few times, and every time I have had great service with an attentive waiter. I've tried the beignets, crab cake Benedict, chicken and waffles, and the montecristo. All of those were excellent options and tasted great. They also have a great selection of cocktails, as well as mimosa and sangria carafes for brunch. The name says it all! We had the artichoke Benedict, granola French toast and monte cristo !! All of us were surprised about the presentation! The flavors on the other hand are need their own page! So, the monte criso- came with syrup and honey mustard- mix or alone this sandwich deserves a standing ovation! Granola French toast- sweet and a little crunch to it! I've been to Dream Cafe in their old location a couple years ago and thought they had a solid brunch. I visited their new location over the weekend and was not impressed. The avocado toast was not worth $7 for just sliced up avocado on toast, more toppings would have made the price justifiable. The 90210 was a good portion and was tasty, but not outstanding. The service was a bit slow as well. Also the location on google maps is still their old location so it was hard to navigate to. However there was street parking on the adjacent street. read more

My experience here was not very good! This food looks pretty, but it was very salty and not very good.. my friends said their food was very mediocre as well. Once we were seated we waited a full hour for our food to come (it took him about 20 minutes to come and take our order, and then at least another 40 minutes for the food to arrive). Decided to stop in and have brunch. I'm so glad I did. I was quickly acknowledged ( despite them being busy). I had the option of sitting inside or outside. They have a front patio overlooking McKinney Avenue - but there's an even larger patio area in the back. I ordered a mimosa, the Strap Hanger with a half order of the cloud cakes. First time here. Came on my birthday for brunch on a Saturday morning around 10:45am. Waited about 25 minutes to get seated. Ordered The Energizer, heavy ginger & Lavender Honey Latte. The Energizer was very refreshing and with heavy ginger, spicy. The Lavender Honey Latte is served with pumpkin spice powder on top. For entree, ordered the 90210 without English muffin, add lox. Eggs initially came out poached hard, but they re-did them medium/easy. Hollandaise sauce is on the sour side, but everything else was cooked nicely. Also ordered the Monté Christo. Flavor is good, paired well with honey mustard on side. Service was excellent: server asked for specifics and dropped by to make sure things were good. Overall, wasn't blown away by anything in particular, so not a 5/5, but would recommend, and might come back. read more

The Dream Cafe is a hidden gem in Uptown! I have lived in Uptown for 8mo now and I had no I idea this place existed. Some friends of mine invited my girlfriend and I here for brunch. It was amazing! It has a cozy atmosphere and was definitely busy for 1030am on a Saturday. I'd recommend a reservation or planning to be a little early. The menu had great options and our friends raved about everything they had tried there. I wanted something light so I opted for the New Yorker. The salmon was great quality and I really enjoyed the bagel. If I had been really hungry, this wouldn't have been enough, but it was perfect for that meal. We were in town for a wedding this past weekend and stumbled upon Dream Cafe. We decided it was worth the wait for breakfast (about 20 minutes)- and then came our first delight! Instead of pagers or beepers, they gave us an old LP cover to hold, and then when our table was ready, the called "All Tempos" -- it was whimsical and charming. It only got better from there. Leila was our server, and she was super personable. We noticed a stylish man coming around, who we later learned was Gregory, the manager. We had a great breakfast and we liked it so much that rather than figure out another breakfast place, we returned the next day. Mark was our server this time and we had a chance to talk to Gregory, who we told how much we loved the restaurant. I found this place one day while Lyfting around downtown, when I just wanted some coffee and light breakfast. The place is kinda like a dive bar but a dive cafe instead. It's really cool inside, I could tell they've done some renovations. The server I had was really amazing. He let me know the history of the place. It has a female owner and it's been in Dallas since the 80s I believe. So it's got a lot of history. They have patio seating as well as indoor seating. For it to be in what seems like such a small space, there is a lot of seating through out the place, but it's not crowded. The breakfast options were amazing, and they have this biscuit thing that they make (forgot what it's called) but it was . But then again, I love a biscuit and jelly/jam. The jelly/jam was made in-house and I wish they sold it. I would consider this place as a cool brunch spot if you're in college or want to meet a friend or two for brunch, as well as a coffee date. Since this place is an older spot, I WILL say, you can smell that it is old. Luckily, patio seating is available and they have heaters there to knock the chill off if you decide to eat outside on a chilly day. read more

I came in with some coworkers for breakfast. We are nightshifters. We got a Dream mimosa pitcher. Frozen OJ with strawberries as ice cubes and then just champagne. It was pretty good. I got the chicken and waffles. The chicken was fried, nice and crispy and hot. But SO damn dry. I didn't get the gravy so maybe that would of helped. But without it was sad. The waffle was flavorless. And wasn't super hot or crispy. I was over all super disappointed. Someone else got the dream pancakes which were really good. We also split a snail (cinnamon bun) which was flavorful. Someone else got a muffin/crossianty type thing that was stuffed. I forget what it was called. She said it wasn't very flavorful either. Kind of seemed like a thing. Someone else got something - which she loved- but I forget. The server was new. And I appreciated that she let us know when we asked her about her favorite menu items. The Dream Cafe has been my go to Sunday brunch place now for a few months. The waiter/waitress staff is friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. The food is delicious and you get a lot for the price. My current favorite thing on the menu is the Granola crusted French toast but the low country shrimp and grits is in a close second place. They offer a cocktail called the Dreamosa which is champagne with orange juice ice cubes so you are basically in control of your champagne to oj ratio (because what's brunch without a mimosa) All in all this place is like a little hidden food gem! read more
