But, with that being said..I am a very loyal customer when I have a good experience. Today, was a great experience. It was my first time at this salon and I will definitely be back for regular appts. Jennifer and her staff were welcoming, polite, profession but also fun. I recently moved from New England and this was my first trip to a nail salon in my new town. I've been going to Katie and Boy for almost two years now! I originally switched over from a local salon and haven't turned back since. Katie always does my nails with so much detail and precision! She is a perfectionist so i leave happy every time. Her boyfriend, Boy does my pedicure with the same care and I don't let anyone touch my feet except for him. Very disappointed. I stopped by at 5pm (2 hrs before close time) asked if I can get a mani and pedi. The ladies seemed unwilling to provided service.. first they asked if I had an appointment then they asked if I was the person that just called. I let them know that it was neither but asked if they had time for a mani and pedi. After walking me to the chair, the lady that was going to do my nails seemed annoyed. I asked, "do I need an appointment to get my nails done" she said no. I then asked for a nail color I wanted to use.. she brought over a box and very rudely said "this is everything we have, if you don't find the color, we don't have it". Visiting Hermosa Beach I needed a quick fill. I found through yelp that Nancy salon does mat nails and hologram fun styles. I went today to check it out and I was very happy with service and how my nails looked. Kate did my nails and she was the best! They really went downhill from when I first started going there. First time I have had someone get grouchy with me when I told them it was hurting when they were taking off my previous dip and I guess in a hurry, so kept burning bad. Never experienced that before. I always make an appointment but have them 3 chances. Even with appointment others were getting in and out before me and getting their mani pedi done at same time. Not professional at all. I'm sure some of the technicians do great nail work here but when you get your nails done, you are also looking for good service. My tech was incredibly short and unfriendly in her demeanor. Never said hello. She answered the phone in the same manner. I got nail extensions but at no point was an actual manicure done on my finger nails. Very strange. Very transactional. First time she did a great job, she tried to upsell me from gel to dip the whole time, but my nails looked great. I've been coming here for about four months now because they're the only salon that I could find that offers Gel X nails. Katie has been doing my nails and she's really great I love her. My nails can last over a month. Today I stopped by because I wanted to change my nail color because I didn't really like the color I chose it didn't come out to how I was invisioning and wanted something more Halloween. I rushed over after work and got there by 6:10 to find they were closing even though they close at 7. Tina was nice enough to change the color, although I could tell she was upset and spoke something in their language to the other workers there. I felt bad for making her stay and I told her I could come back a different day and she said to just stay. I understand that she was upset about having to stay but I didn't really appreciate the rudeness.
